Former WWF writer Tommy Blacha and co-host Rob Pasbani are in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to recap a night of massive upsets and "soft reboots." The episode is headlined by a shocker as the Brooklyn Brawler pins Triple H in a handicap match after Chris Jericho provides a timely distraction. We break down the scary, legitimate injury sustained by Hardcore Holly during a stiff match with Kurt Angle, where a chaotic moonsault resulted in a broken arm for the "Big Shot." Tommy Blacha provides the backstage scoop on Taz's "doghouse" status with management, the real-life logistics of the XFL launch, and why Vince McMahon reneged on his promise to give Mick Foley six months off. We also discuss the debut of the "Conchierto" and the emergence of Steven Richards as the moral authority of the Right to Censor.Other major discussion points include:- The Rock's Hollywood absence and his world premiere of "It Doesn't Matter" on TRL.- Kurt Angle's hilarious and accidental "milk" assault on the Undertaker's motorcycle.- Val Venis shocking Rikishi to capture the Intercontinental Championship.- Steve Blackman reclaiming his killer instinct (and the Hardcore Title) with a nunchuck assault.- Tommy Blacha shares his original pitch for a "Split Belt" gimmick for the women's division.Don't forget to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and hit the notification bell!Follow Tales from the Attitude Era: Email: tftattitudera@gmail.com Instagram/TikTok/X: @TFTattitudeera0:00 - Intro 4:12 - Vince McMahon: The "Madman" at the helm5:32 - THE XFL HYPE12:16 - Bill Clinton and the 2000 political backdrop13:58 - Match 1: Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle (Stephanie intervene)18:46 - Kurt Angle sprays milk on Undertaker's bike21:50 - Why Foley returned from retirement early24:16 - Foley and Benoit Promo27:30 - Backstage: Triple H finds Angle's milk disaster28:46 - Match 2: The Dudley Boyz vs. Lo-Down (Chaz & D-Lo Brown)31:32 - Match 3: Dean Malenko vs. Ivory & Jacqueline (Handicap Match)33:20 - THE BELT SPLIT GIMMICK: Tommy's original pitch for the ladies36:06 - Match 4: Rikishi vs. Val Venis (Intercontinental Title Change)38:39 - Match 5: Steve Blackman vs. Big Boss Man (Hardcore Title)39:39 - Match 6: Undertaker & Kane vs. T&A (The Double Big Boot)40:32 - Who has the best Big Boot of all time? January 25th, 1993 is the date for the 3rd ever episode of WWF Monday Night RAW. Yokozuka has won the Royal Rumble the night before, but that's not the focus of this episode. Ric Flair's WWF contract is up so they need a match to write him off! The main event is a Loser Leaves WWF match between Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair that turns into a straight up classic. There's blood, there's cheating, there's Bobby Heenan going absolutely nuts at ringside. Mr. Perfect send Ric Flair packing. Also, Kamala battles the Brooklyn Brawler and slaps his belly, Randy Savage wrestles the Repo Man to try and get his stolen hat back, and Rob Bartlett rambles on! It's 1993 WWF where they are still trying to figure out what the show is going to be. Plus, the boys talk about the Japan trip!⦁ Deadlock Discord: https://discord.gg/E4BvR4W⦁ Deadlock Shop: https://shop.deadlockpw.com⦁ Deadlock Patreon: https://patreon.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Twitter: https://twitter.com/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Instagram: https://instagram.com/deadlockwrestling⦁ Deadlock Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/deadlockpw⦁ Deadlock Pro Wrestling: http://deadlockpro.com
KiddChris and Sara find it funny that conversations about Pete Rose are happening at the White House, with President Donald Trump and Rob Manfred, the baseball commissioner, discussing the permanent ban. The president is noted as a big Pete Rose fan. There's speculation that an announcement about Rose's induction could happen by May 14th, coinciding with a celebration event. The ideal scenario would be the announcement happening at the ballpark on May 14th, potentially delivered by the Reds' long-time public address announcer, Marty Brennaman. The event on May 14th is expected to be a sold-out game with a standing ovation for Rose. Every single fan attending the May 14th game will receive a Pete Rose replica jersey. Marty Brennaman is expected to have a significant presence at the game on the 14th. If Rose goes into the Hall of Fame, Marty might induct him and introduce the family.Bill Belichick is on a media tour for his new book, "The Art of Winning". His 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan, is accompanying Bill Belichick everywhere, including interviews and even on the field with his team at UNC. Jordan reportedly interrupted and corrected Belichick multiple times during a CBS interview over the weekend, causing delays. She allegedly had a "hissy fit" and stormed out at one point. KiddChris and Sara commented on Bill Belichick's recent appearance, specifically a shirt with a hole at the collarbone. He was compared to the Brooklyn Brawler. One host suggested Jordan might be cutting holes in his sweatshirts to make him not look cute.KiddChris is dealing with a spider problem in his apartment, having received spider bites. He killed a large spider and bought spider repellent packets. He put the packets around, laundered his sheets on high heat, and slept in long clothes. The spider repellent packets smell like pot but he finds it "earthy" and okay compared to other bad smells.
