The early tag line for the Survivor Series was 'Teams of 5 Strive to Survive' and while that was an accurate description of 3 of the 4 matches on the 2nd annual Survivor Series event, there was also the sight of a mighty 10 versus 10 struggle that lasted for over 40 minutes and included the Hart Foundation, British Bulldogs, Rockers, Demolition, Brain Busters, Fabulous Rougeaus and The Powers of Pain, amongst others. This show also featured the latest event in the slow break up of the Mega Powers, a double turn involving Mr Fuji changing allegiance between two teams, and Bad News Brown walking out on his partners in a way only Bad News Brown can. The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by Stephen, Mark and Tinky.

It's time for the 10th episode of our trip through SNME 1989 and it's gonna be a fun ride. We are continuing our drive into the catalog of SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT & this amazing relationship between NBC/WWF as we make our eighth stop in the DELOREAN. Episode 10 of Season 5 is this upcoming Friday and as per usual ACEFIELD RETRO returns with MIKE BELCASTER to chat about an retro filled happening! We start our journey to take a close look upon SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT XIX (JANUARY 7, 1989) from the SunDome in Tampa, FL headlined by Hulk Hogan vs Akeem. Outside of our trips through the SATURDAY NIGHT catalog we stop to cover THE MAIN EVENT II (FEBRUARY 3, 1989) where we watch The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & Macho Man Randy Savage) take on the devastating duo known as The Twin Towers (Akeem & Big Boss Man) and this is the final straw for the tandem of SAVAGE and HOGAN. JEALOUSY, INSECURITY and eventual HATRED cause them to implode. But who is in the wrong? Is Macho actually the heel here?? We finish out trip at SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT XX (MARCH 11, 1989) from Hersey, PA in Hersheypark Arena headlined by Hulk Hogan (w/Miss Elizabeth) taking on Bad News Brown ! We chat about all the usual WWF happenings like titles changes, new debuts and just the importance of this working relationship with NBC & WWF. The celebrities & goofy presentation are attempting to bring in the casual fans and tying in popular culture with some of the biggest names in WWF history.
