Nashville-based singer and songwriter Jeffrey James returns with his new single, “Day by Day,” out now via Preach Records.Over the past few years, Jeffrey James has captivated the hearts of millions with his soulful and introspective sound and his rich, velvety vocals. For his new single, “Day by Day,” Jeffrey worked with John Davidson and Jacob Bryant, the lead singer and lead guitarist of the indie-rock band The Brummies. Merging Jeffrey's soulful pop stylings with John and Jacob's indie sensibilities, the trio created an irresistibly catchy, genre-blending anthem with "Day by Day."“The song is based on my own experience of growing and learning about life and love alongside my wife,” Jeffrey shares. “It hasn't always been perfect or easy, but there is nothing better than knowing you have a partner who is by your side and ready to take on whatever comes next.”Pairing catchy pop melodics and R&B influences with reflective lyricism, Jeffrey's songs explore the complex emotional layers of human experience with compassion and curiosity. Since making his debut in 2016, he has amassed millions of streams across his repertoire, received praise from tastemakers like Billboard and 1883 Magazine, and had his music featured in numerous TV shows and films. In Spring 2022, Jeffrey's collaboration with Grammy Award-winning DJ, Dave Audé, climbed to number 5 on the UK dance charts. Over the course of his singles, collaborations and EPs, Jeffrey has continued to explore his sound, emerging as an exciting force in the contemporary pop space.Follow Jeffrey James:Website / Spotify / Facebook / Instagram / Twitter / YouTubeSUPPORT THIS SHOWSUBSCRIBE TO YOUR LIFE THE MIXTAPE MAGAZINESUBSCRIBE TO DEAR DEAN MAGAZINE

What a week it has been in beautiful Dalton, GA! The KBP crew brings you a new episode this week, and they have a few things to talk about. These conversations are purely organic, and we hope you enjoy them.Today, the guys talk more about the overturning of Roe v. Wade and what the body of Christ can do to assist in the coming influx of children, and how we should position ourselves for ministry to those who may be hurting. We compare Roe v. Wade to Goliath, as he was a champion giant who seemed "undefeatable". But David, a young man, refused the Kings armor and instead, only carried his sling and five stones. FIVE STONES.STONE ONE: Goliath's. STONES 2-5??? Well....maybe those were for the other giants that needed to be taken down. Make no mistake, other giants are about to fall!  Also, Lou Engle paid Chattanooga, TN this past week, and J.R. was able to spend some quality time with him while he was in town. If you have never heard of Lou, click on his name above, and check out his website. We had the pleasure of interviewing Jacob Bryant over Zoom video!Edgy, outlaw country rocker Jacob Bryant unleashes his new album, Bar Stool Preacher from Thirty Tigers and American Roots Records, today. Wide Open Country premiered the official music video to the album's focus track, "The Bottom (Raise 'Em Up)", which was also supported by CMT.com, while PopWrapped premiered the lyric video to the song.Produced by Bryant, Jesse Triplett, Brandon Metcalf, Noah Gordon and Jeff Catton, Bar Stool Preacher was recorded at South X Sea Studios in Nashville. The 13-song collection stays true to Bryant's trademark, deeply personal style that has built an eager fan base and caught the attention of industry heavyweights like Thirty Tigers. The global music marketing, management, distribution and publishing company recently inked its deal with Bryant and American Roots Records. "I think Jacob has it in him to be a major star, and I'm proud that he and his team picked us to help him realize his promise,” shared Thirty Tigers President David Macias. After losing his mother in 2010, the budding singer-songwriter battled depression and anxiety, self-medicated with alcohol and cocaine and ultimately suffered a heart attack at the age of just 19, but he transformed the pain into passion. "Music is healing. As simple as that sounds, the process of creating my art about the life experiences I have had is my therapy," Bryant explained. "From writing the songs, recording, mixing and mastering to finally seeing a finished product in my hands has been extremely therapeutic for me."About Jacob Bryant:With powerhouse vocals, bold songwriting talent and a dynamic live show, Bryant continues breaking the mold as a new artist. The singer-songwriter is a true road warrior and spent hundreds of thousands of miles on the road playing in honky tonks, fairs and even the Mother Church of Country Music, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Bryant has built an eager fan base while developing his trademark, deeply personal songs. After losing his mother in 2010, the budding songwriter battled depression and anxiety, self-medicated with alcohol and cocaine and ultimately suffered a heart attack at the age of just 19 – but he transformed the pain into passion. Growing up in the rural North Georgia mountains down a three mile dirt road, Jacob Bryant picked up his first guitar at eight years old. He was influenced by the Bluegrass music his family played and later the southern rock and traditional country music he discovered. The Brummies hail not from the English city of Birmingham but a town of the same name in Alabama. These southern origins may suggest that the trio play roots music -- as does the fact that Jacob Bryant and John Davidson, two of the key Brummies, earned success as country songwriters, penning the Band Perry's 2013 hit "Done" -- but the group's 2018 debut, Eternal Reach, is a lush pop record, steeped in classic rock, AOR, and yacht rock traditions in equal measure. Same Trailer Different ParkJacob Bryant and John Davidson first began their creative collaboration as songwriters. Their first notable success was "Done," a song the Band Perry took to number one on Billboard's Country Airplay chart in 2013. Shortly afterward, they began performing as a duo called John & Jacob, releasing an independent eponymous album in 2014 and placing the single "Be My Girl" on the Nashville TV series. John & Jacob's big breakthrough came when they landed an opening spot on Kacey Musgraves's Same Trailer Different Park tour in 2014. While on the road with Musgraves, the duo began collaborating with Trevor Davis. Once the Same Trailer tour wrapped in 2015, the band officially hired Davis and rechristened themselves the Brummies, taking their name from slang for natives of Birmingham, England. Signing with Sandbox, the music management team behind Musgraves and Little Big Town, the band began working on a debut, while also maintaining a steady touring schedule. Eternal Reach, which featured a cameo from Kacey Musgraves on the single "Drive Away," reached stores in April 2018. - allmusic.com

The Brummies made up of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists John Davidson and Jacob Bryant, and drummer Trevor Davis, have been playing together in various incarnations since high school in the Birmingham, Alabama area. John shares the journey from basement jams to publishing songs with Major Bob (Garth Brooks) early in their career. Writing for Major Bob, John and Jacob most notably penned "Done" that was recorded by The Band Perry which earned John and Jacob their first number one. After the success of a number one, what do you do next? The obvious isn't what's obvious. John shares reinventing their sound from a country genre that can be misleading for most, collabs with Kacey Musgraves, and releasing Automatic World at a time that a band wants you to share in their vibe. Fully recognizing though that the current vibe may not be the most opportune. American Songwriter Podcast Network

We had the pleasure of interviewing The Brummies over Zoom!  The Brummies is an independent band of three embodied by the vocalists and instrumentalists, John Davidson and Jacob Bryant, and Trevor Davis playing drums. The band was formed when they were in high school inspired by several iconic artists such as My Morning Jacket, Elton John, ELO, The Beatles, and Blitzen Trapper. These influences inspired their psych-rock vibe incorporated with the soft-indie folk genre. Their success was rooted when Jacob and John poured their heart into writing music. They collaborated with different artists such as Band Perry with their song Done. The song was number one on Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart back in the year 2013. Before forming The Brummies, they were a performing duo called John & Jacob. In 2014, they even released an independent album in which one of the singles called Be My Girl was on a television series, Nashville. One of their biggest milestones as a performing duo was when they were given an opportunity to open for Kacey Musgraves’ tour, Trailer Different Park tour in 2014. They initially collaborated with Trevor Davis. After wrapping up the tour in 2015, Davis officially became part of the group and introduced themselves as The Brummies. https://open.spotify.com/artist/1B9SbgFtfWSlUvAd1y0AaAhttps://www.thebrummies.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZkmxICoApAzCIrazLxhIGwhttps://www.instagram.com/thebrummies/?hl=enWe want to hear from you! Listen to Pietra talk about identity, the resilience of the human spirit, gender disparity, her new film and why she’s attracted to people in difficult situations.TrailerIMDBWebsiteFilm SynopsisDirector Pietra Brettkelly (The Art Star and the Sudanese Twins) follows a group of dedicated Afghan cinephiles who are literally excavating their country’s cinematic past, as they seek to retrieve over 8,000 hours of film footage that they risked their lives to conceal during the Taliban era.Film preservation is a challenge all over the world, but on this scale of crisis Afghanistan ranks near the very top. The miniboom in film production that followed the establishment of the state Afghan Film organization in 1965 came to an end with the ascension of the Taliban, which viewed cinema as Western culture that needed to be expunged. The country’s film history might well have have been lost forever, if not for the brave custodians who risked their lives to conceal films from the regime. In A Flickering Truth, we meet the dedicated cinephiles who are now excavating, preserving, and restoring thousands of hours of film footage, both drama and documentary, from Afghanistan’s cinematic past. The effort is led by Ibrahim Arify, who had been jailed for filmmaking under the Mujahideen and fled the country to start a new life in Germany. Now, he has returned to rebuild Afghan Film and help bring a sense of order to a country where resources are scarce and needs are great. The heart of the organization is the elderly Uncle Isaaq Yousif, who was orphaned at age thirteen and has lived on the archive’s premises for thirty-one years. Isaaq considers the archives to be his family,Director Pietra Brettkelly follows the archivists as they continue to struggle during the post-Taliban era, where suicide bombers continue to target anything with Western associations. As the caretakers thread old projectors with film from unmarked reels, the country’s history comes alive with images of former leaders, beloved actresses, and landmarks that have since been destroyed. A Flickering Truth is a testament to the urgency and necessity of film preservation.BiographyPietra Brettkelly is a New Zealand documentary director and producer, whose work has featured in four of the five top international film festivals – Sundance, Berlin, Venice and Toronto. Best known for the films A Flickering Truth and The Art Star and the Sudanese Twins, Brettkelly was a journalist before becoming a filmmaker and her work has taken her to nearly 100 countries.Brettkelly’s most recent film, A Flickering Truth, which documents the unearthing of the Afghan Film Archive in Kabul, Afghanistan, premiered at the 2015 Venice Film Festival to great critical acclaim. The Hollywood Reporter’s Deborah Young praised the film, describing it as “a documentary not just for archivists but for those who see film as a vital part of local culture,”while Indiewire’s Eric Kohn called the movie an “eye-opening documentary … a moving navigation of Afghanistan’s past and present. When filming in southern Sudan in 2006 for the television documentary series Ends of the Earth for Television New Zealand, Brettkelly met Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft.Beecroft is famous for her provocative performance art, and while in Sudan for a project had decided to try and adopt motherless twins.Brettkelly had previously produced a documentary on international adoption, The Rescue of Iani and, along with cameraman Jacob Bryant, eventually followed Beecroft’s adoption efforts over 16 months, which formed the basis for The Art Star and the Sudanese Twins.More on Pietra here.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
