Assassin's Creed Unity puts players right into the Parisian streets where the bloody events of the Reign of Terror occurred, and gives us the chance to see the gruesome guillotine up close. But were public executions all there was to the Terror? How did such a notorious period come about? And what lessons can we learn from it today? To answer these questions,Matt Lewis talks to returning guest Prof. David Andress from the University of Portsmouth, author of The Terror: Civil War in the French Revolution.Echoes of History is a Ubisoft podcast, brought to you by History Hit. 1:18:40 PC Player 1/1995, u.a. mit U.S. Navy Fighters, Under A Killing Moon, Warcraft und Jörgs Besuch bei Richard Garriotts Haunted House. 1:54:19 Abspann.
Today, we'll study someone who was both a cause and a victim of the French Revolution: the cake-promoting queen, Marie Antoinette. In Assassin's Creed Unity, we glimpse Marie Antoinette living the high-life while the poor people of Paris starve. By walking the streets of Paris, we also get an idea of the public perception of her as a detached, and even cruel, consort. Understanding her reputation helps us understand her fate, which we'll examine closely today. Matt is helped Maddy and Anthony from the After Dark podcast to take us on a journey through the final days of Marie Antoinette.Echoes of History is a Ubisoft podcast, brought to you by History Hit.

Welcome to Neo-Reality Collective | Pop-Culture News and Reviews Talk, Hosted by Eric Brown! In the Seventieth-Second episode, The Fall of X is looming for the Mutant Nation of Krakoa…so naturally, it is time to do a wedding when an organization is bent on extinguishing their entire race with Emma Frost, The White Queen of The Hellfire Trading Company, is tying the knot with…TONY STARK!? Yep, the multi-billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist hero known as The Invincible Iron Man is set to marry The White Queen of The X-Men in holy matrimony that may or may not be followed by an ORCHIS raid because weddings in Superhero Comics nowadays must either be mentioned out of nowhere or have a group of villains attack. But yeah, The X-Men and Avengers are in attendance (Including the Recently Deceased Ms. Marvel) for this (obviously political) union between X-Men and Avengers. I hope they survive the experience. Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action adaptation has the first look of Avatar Aang, who looks more accurate to his OG Cartoon Counterpart than the Live Action movie counterpart, but I'm not optimistic about this project since there are already new animated films and series in the works in the main original timeline which may dilute interest in the multi-million budgeted series that may or may not get canceled after about 2 weeks of Season One's Binge release given Netflix's recent years of high budgeted shows ending after only a season. Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal survives the WBD Animation Purge with a greenlit season three in production, and there was much rejoicing. The upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage has more details with the reveal of the map scale of the game will be on the level of Assassin's Creed Unity and Revelations. Battlebit Remastered, the popular 254-Player answer for Battlefield and Call of Duty's stagnation and decline, is gaining increasing traction in their early access release. At the same time, Kraven The Hunter launched a trailer set to be produced by Sony for their MCU-Adjacent Shared Universe, and given their track record for films that aren't MCU Spider-Man or The Spider-Verse animation films, I have very little hope of this doing well, but we'll see how it all comes together when the film releases in theaters. Well getting ready for a doozy because now he's the villain of our storyline in Unity, that's right we have a cross over game! The architect Sandra Youkhana takes readers on a tour of the structures of modern digital worlds in Videogame Atlas (co-authored with Luke Caspar Pearson). From Minecraft to Assassin's Creed Unity she examines the real-world architectural theory that underpins these fantasy worlds, and their influence on concrete designs today. The journalist Louise Blain presents BBC Radio 3's monthly Sound of Gaming which showcases the latest and best gaming soundtracks. She explores how composers help create not only the atmosphere in a game, immersing players in these invented worlds, but their music is also integral to the game's structure and design. Adrian Hon spent a decade co-creating the hit game Zombies, Run but has become increasingly disillusioned with the way real world institutions – corporations, governments and schools – are using gamification to monitor and control behaviour. In You've Been Played he shows how the elements of game playing have been co-opted as tools for profit and coercion. Writer and philosopher, the Marquis de Sade is a very controversial figure because of its texts, where erotism and pornography had an important place, along with cruelty, rape and murders. To such an extent that his name gave the root of the word "sadistic". Because of his work and his deviant behavior, he spent more than a third of his life in prison. But how did the heir of an ancient French noble family become this despicable yet legendary character ? Dying Light 2 as a game is good, but it fails to recapture the magic that made the original so special and such a remarkable experience with friends.

The Just Cause games aren't very good. They don't have good stories, they all launched with a lot of bugs, they have very myopic gameplay systems, and yet, they're bizarrely memorable. To put it simply, they offer a grand escape into a realm of escapist entertainment; we take control of Rico Rodriguez, a rough and tumble mercenary military specialist who can rock bell bottoms as well as he can steal a commercial airliner from a major airport without anyone noticing. I'd call them junk food games: there's no substance here, just fluff. And, just like cotton candy, it's still enjoyable to consume even though there's nothing really here. Ghost of Tsushima is a phenomenal game. It proves that the formula established by the likes of Assassin's Creed and Far Cry can still work if implemented properly.
Tread Perilously begins its annual Doctor Who month with the New Series episode "The Girl In The Fireplace" When the TARDIS lands on a broken spaceship some time in the 51st Century, The Doctor, Rose, and Mickey soon discover it is opening time breaches to 18th Century France. Soon after, the Doctor learns the portals -- which cause years in the 18th Century to go by in moments on the ship -- are tied to one person in particular: Madame de Pompadour. Why are the ship's repair robots interested in her? But, perhaps more importantly, why is The Doctor interested in her? Meanwhile, Mickey harangues Rose about her obvious affection for The Doctor. Erik mentions a direct interview situation with Steven Moffat led to the episode selection. Justin likens it to a "short story" take on many of the writer's favorite tropes. He also suggests Erik dislikes David Tennant and the Tenth Doctor. Erik vehemently denies it. The cheapness of the production proves charming as it starts to look more like proper Doctor Who with each passing year. Justin tries out his Paul Darrow impression. Sophia Myles proves to be the episode MVP. Erik offers a surprise review of Assassin's Creed Unity, Mickey proves forgettable, and the Comte de Saint Germain strikes again.

Join the channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/LukeStephensTV/join Little Nightmares is a series that celebrates the obscure and grotesque. Much like American Horror Story, Guillermo Del Toro, or all of Tik Tok. I really enjoy it to be honest. I understand why some may not enjoy vague story telling or tale spinners who leave much up to the imagination, but I find it captivating. I personally love it when a story teller doesn't spoon feed everything; when elements of the story or the characters' motivations are left up to my imagination or deduction. There are cases where this doesn't work though. In this video we'll break down everything that the game does well, that it fails at, and we'll evaluate whether or not it can back up its crazy plotlines.

Step right up and place your head gingerly beneath the blade of the guillotine, because we're taking a trip to French Revolution Paris to explore one of AC's jankiest, clunkiest, yet most ambitious titles. Along for the ride is the Hookblade's "Elegant Design" herself, WhiteWolfWhispers! We could probably talk about this game for three episode lengths, but we'll have to settle for just one.
