I SAW A FACEBOOK POST ABOUT WOMEN BEING TOLD THEY’RE TOO OLD TO BE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. see below. THERE WERE 91 COMMENTS. I INVITED THE WOMEN TO COME TALK ABOUT IT IN PERSON. THIS IS THE FIRST PANEL DISCUSSION ON THE WILDE MUSICIANS PODCAST. The post that inspired it all:“Hey ladies. I had a guy say something to me about how I’m “older” after my gig yesterday. He seemed a bit off so I know I shouldn’t take it personally but his comment really just wiggled into my brain and has been bugging me ever since. I’ve been singing my whole life, in choirs then singing backing vocals in a band starting in 2009, but I didn’t really start throwing myself into writing songs and making my own music until 2013 when I was 31. So much of what we see in movies, on tv and in pop culture are geared toward perfection, flawlessness and youth, particularly in entertainment. I honestly don’t know of that many women musicians, aside from Sharon Jones, who were successful at an older age. What I’m looking for with this post are for your recommendations of Womxn artists that you all as a creative mind hive can recommend to look to as inspirational and motivating heroes. I’m looking for role models. This creative and musical journey is challenging enough without having the “you’re too old” factor thrown in your face. Who are some of your pioneering women musical heroes?” — Post from Tekla Waterfield in the Womxn in Music Private Facebook Group on Sept 12, 2019 PANEL MEMBERS Cha Wilde: https://chawilde.com Tekla Waterfield: https://www.teklawaterfield.com/ Katrina Kope: https://www.katrinakope.com/ Jen Ayers: https://www.jenayersmusic.com/ Julia Francis: https://www.facebook.com/juliafrancismusic/ Sue Quigley: http://www.suequigley.com/ Aimee Zoe: https://www.aimeezoe.com/ Jennifer Richardson: https://www.facebook.com/wishmission/ Kristin Chambers: https://www.kristinchambers.com/ Michelle Searle: https://www.facebook.com/michellesearlesings ❤ more CHA WILDE: WEBSITE: https://chawilde.com INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/chawilde FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/chawilde/ SPOTIFY: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0zwsrpWYJ7ZFraivcuPHv1 ITUNES: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/cha-wilde/1445766935 YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/dashboard?o=U

World Footprints returns to St. Vincent and travels through the village of Layou on St. Vincent’s Leeward Coast. Layou, which sits against a stunning backdrop of rockscapes and ridges, is filled with historic homes and churches, a small beach and crescent shaped bay. On the ridge above the village you’ll find the Layou Petroglyph Park; the spot where we begin today’s broadcast with our guide Marlon Joseph. From Layou we travel to Argyle, where, in the near future St. Vincent will welcome the thousands of visitors in its newly built international airport. The quarter-of-a-billion dollar Argyle International Airport is the large development project in St. Vincent’s history. Jennifer Richardson of the Airport’s Development Corporation takes us onsite to talk about the mega project. We end today’s show at one of our favorite resorts, the newly built Buccament Bay. General Manager Gianluca Cugnetto, a powerhouse in the hospitality industry, will discuss his passion for food, nature, and hospitality, and his desire to incorporate them all to provide visitors with a unique experience. Speaking of one of the many unique features that Buccament Bay offers, Tonya enjoyed an afternoon with two of London’s West End talents at the resort’s Harlequin Performing Arts Academy. Actor & Singing Coach John Barr (Convict #5 in Les Miserables) and Musical Director Tim Davies helped Tonya find her true voice as she performed the song “I Dream A Dream.” For more information about St. Vincent and the Grenadines visit www.DiscoverSVG.com Hang out with World Footprints on Twitter and Facebook @WorldFootprints.

When faced with infertility, you may have to decide at some point whether to pursue having a child. You may not want to undergo infertility treatments or you may want to stop trying after failed treatment attempts. It is important to know that life is still fulfilling without a child. Actor & Singing Coach John Barr (Convict #5 in Les Miserables) and Musical Director Tim Davies helped Tonya find her true voice as she performed the song “I Dream A Dream.” Hang out with World Footprints on Twitter and Facebook @WorldFootprints.
