Jordan Sather and Nate Prince return with another eye-opening episode of MAHA News, kicking off with the “MAHA Tip of the Week” on how cheap tea bags can load your brew with billions of microplastic particles—and why loose leaf tea is the healthier choice. From there, the hosts highlight surprising wins against Big Ag and Big Food, applauding Tyson Foods' decision to drop high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, and harmful preservatives, while noting McDonald's $200M investment in regenerative farming. They skewer politicians like Chuck Grassley for pandering to corn lobbies, call out media hit pieces on RFK Jr., and spotlight MAHA Action rallies planned nationwide. The big story centers on the CDC's vaccine advisory panel overhaul under RFK Jr., including bombshell votes to end universal COVID vax recommendations, delay MMRV shots, and scrap the Hep B shot at birth. With sidebars on illegal Chinese vapes, organ donation reforms, and new supplement launches, the episode delivers MAHA's trademark mix of health news, political fire, and unapologetic truth-telling.
Why does a podcast about capitalism want to talk about science?Modern capitalism and science have evolved together since the Enlightenment. Advances in ship building and navigation enabled the Age of Discovery, which opened up new trade routes and markets to European merchants. The invention of the spinning jinny and cotton in the 18th century spurred textile production. The United States' Department of Defense research and development agency helped create the precursor to the internet. The internet now supports software and media industries worth trillions of dollars. On the flip side, some of America's greatest capitalists and businesses, including Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Bell Labs, gave us everything from electricity production to the transistor. Neither science nor capitalism can succeed without the other. However, science's star is now dimming. Part of this is due to political intervention. In the U.S., the federal government has cut funding for scientific research. The Covid-19 pandemic diminished the public's trust in scientific experts, which social media has exacerbated through misinformation. Restrictions on immigration may further hamper scientific research as some of the world's brightest minds lose access to funding and state-of-the-art facilities. But so too has capitalism played a hand in science's struggles. While corporations sponsor a significant portion of funding for scientific research, this funding too often comes with undisclosed conflicts of interest. Or corporate pressure may influence results in other ways.Stanford University professor John Ioannidis is a physician, writer, and one of the world's most-cited scientists. He studies the methodology and sociology of science itself: how the process and standards for empirical research influence findings in ways that some may find inaccurate. His 2005 essay "Why Most Published Research Findings Are False" is one of the most accessed articles in the history of Public Library of Science (PLOS), with more than three million views. Food is supposed to nourish us, but what if the system that produces our food is actually making us sick? According to Stuart Gillespie, a veteran of global nutrition and development, that's exactly what's happening. He argues that Big Food has become a machine designed less to feed people than to maximize profit, leaving behind a trail of obesity, malnutrition, and environmental damage. But Stuart says there's a way out. His new book is called Food Fight: From Plunder and Profit to People and Planet.
In 1985, scientists in Antarctica discovered a hole in the ozone layer that posed a catastrophic threat to life on earth if we didn't do something about it. Then, something amazing happened: humanity rallied together to solve the problem.Just two years later, representatives from all 198 UN member nations came together in Montreal, CA to sign an agreement to phase out the chemicals causing the ozone hole. Thousands of diplomats, scientists, and heads of industry worked hand in hand to make a deal to save our planet. Today, the Montreal protocol represents the greatest achievement in multilateral coordination on a global crisis. So how did Montreal happen? And what lessons can we learn from this chapter as we navigate the global crisis of uncontrollable AI? This episode sets out to answer those questions with Susan Solomon. Susan was one of the scientists who assessed the ozone hole in the mid 80s and she watched as the Montreal protocol came together. In 2007, she won the Nobel Peace Prize for her work in combating climate change.Susan's 2024 book “Solvable: How We Healed the Earth, and How We Can Do It Again,” explores the playbook for global coordination that has worked for previous planetary crises.Your Undivided Attention is produced by the Center for Humane Technology. Episode 2695 - Vinnie Tortorich and Chris Shaffer discuss a listener's bizarre health report, how labeling lies matter, and not limiting your goals. https://vinnietortorich.com/2025/09/labeling-lies-matter-episode-2695 PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS YOU CAN WATCH THIS EPISODE ON YOUTUBE - Labeling Lies Matter Scott, a listener, was in horrible shape, but a family member called CPS services because they were worried for his well-being. (2:00) They thought he was going through a mental health challenge because he was eating healthfully and trying to become active. Protective Services observed him for 3 months to ensure nothing was wrong. But now, the family is on board. (7:00) The ridiculous viewpoint appears to be that a person must be mentally unstable for trying to eat low-carb and for eating more healthfully. (11:00) Vinnie's “Dirty Keto” documentary was prophetic. Companies had started marketing products labeled “keto” that were still junk. (17:00) Lawsuits are popping up based on claims made on certain keto product labels. LMNT electrolytes is being called out for the use of things like maltodextrin hidden under the canopy of “natural flavors.” (21:00) It's interesting to see people start to push back against Big Food. (27:00) “Keto Certified” is not something the FDA actually does. Washington, D.C, is one of the most expensive places to live in the United States, and it's not a coincidence that it's filled with luxury shopping areas. (37:00) Back to the RFK fitness challenge video (link below for reference). (43:00) Some view it as unfeasible for most people, so they shouldn't even try. (45:00) The moral of the story is to try something new and set goals. Get started at the level you can begin now, and set incremental goals. The goal isn't the problem—the problem is the limited mindset. (54:00) If you are interested in the NSNG® VIP group, it will be reopening soon. Sincere question. At a minimum - who in government is actively trying to improve the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for Americans? It would be impossible to say Democrats. Whether they're fighting President Trump on deporting illegal alien criminals, developing more energy sources, reducing crime in our major cities, or challenging Big Food and Pharma to make Americans healthy again - Democrats simply can't abide Trump success. Meanwhile, the President assures everyone yesterday he's alive and well as he moves the Space Force, blows Venezuelan drug cartels out of the water (literally), and pledges to fight activist judges on his tariffs to save the country economically. We get into the law surrounding tariffs and other matters with Mark Weaver. John Hayward from Bretibart discusses the eyebrow raising meeting between Inda, China, and Russia. And meet a candidate and former judge taking on a Soros-backed DA in Philadelphia. -For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigallFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPodListen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
August 31, 2025 Welcome back to Grifty, the podcast where cult wellness, corporate greed, and authoritarian politics meet at a potluck dinner nobody wanted. Tonight's theme is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s Make America Healthy Again plan, better known as MAHA. The Trump team is branding it as a health revolution. But peel back the organic avocado sticker and it looks more like the same old MAGA project: pretend to fight for wellness while quietly dismantling the science and institutions that actually keep people alive. Let's dig in. ⸻ Segment 1: The Food Fight Nobody Ordered Robert F. Kennedy Jr., serving as Trump's Health Secretary, launched MAHA to target ultra-processed foods, artificial dyes, and chemical additives. Big food corporations such as Kraft Heinz, Mars, and Kellogg have already pledged to remove synthetic dyes by 2027 under mounting pressure (Axios (https://www.axios.com/2025/08/31/rfk-robert-kennedy-maha-food-plan)). Supporters frame MAHA as consumer protection. Critics see Kennedy using it to market himself as America's wellness crusader while sidelining medical professionals and spreading distrust in vaccines and science. Questions: 1. Is this food reform real progress or just wellness-washed authoritarianism 2. Should we be celebrating slightly cleaner Pop Tarts while the CDC is gutted behind the scenes ⸻ Segment 2: Polls Love Food Reform, Hate Science According to an Axios Ipsos survey, 87 percent of Americans support stronger food safety rules, with bipartisan backing (Axios (https://www.axios.com/2025/08/31/rfk-republicans-gop-business-make-america-healthy-again-maha)). Nobody is begging for more Red Dye No. 40. But vaccines remain a dividing line. Gallup found that Republicans are significantly less supportive of childhood vaccinations than Democrats, leaving MAHA as a unifying food crusade that simultaneously deepens America's science divide (Axios (https://www.axios.com/2025/08/31/rfk-republicans-gop-business-make-america-healthy-again-maha)). Food For Thought: 1. Does this prove people only support science when it is about snacks 2. What does it mean when food safety unites but basic vaccines divide ⸻ Segment 3: GOP Breaks Up With Big Food The Republican Party has suddenly distanced itself from Big Food. Instead of defending corporations, GOP leaders are aligning with suburban parents worried about chemical exposure and warning labels on junk food (Axios (https://www.axios.com/2025/08/31/rfk-republicans-gop-business-make-america-healthy-again-maha)). But corporate donors are not walking away quietly. Agricultural giants like Mountaire and Reyes Holdings are resisting regulation, and their financial influence means the fight is just beginning. Questions: 1. What happens when Republicans break up with Big Food, and who is their rebound 2. How long before Fox News says Biden wants to ban Oreos ⸻ Segment 4: MAHA's War on Science The Trump administration is using MAHA to undermine public health. The CDC is being overhauled and senior scientists are resigning in protest of political interference and Kennedy's rejection of mRNA technologies (The Hill (https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/5475599-trump-administration-overhauls-cdc/amp/)). Experts warn this is not temporary. Cutting research programs and pushing conspiracy rhetoric risks decades of progress in medicine and public health Questions: 1. What does America look like when essential oils replace vaccines 2. How do we measure the long term cost of this brain drain from the CDC ⸻ Segment 5: Killing Cancer Research While Posing As Wellness Saviors While Trump and Kennedy promote MAHA as a children's health movement, they are simultaneously dismantling federal programs designed to find cures for cancer, Alzheimer's, and ALS (House Appropriations Committee (https://democrats-appropriations.house.gov/news/press-releases/trump-team-dismantles-efforts-find-cure-cancer-and-other-deadly-disorders-and)). The cruelty is in the timing. The New York Times reported promising breakthroughs from a new pediatric brain cancer trial group just this week (New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/28/well/pediatric-brain-cancer-trial-group.html)). While researchers bring hope to families, Washington is choking off the funding that sustains them. Questions: 1. How do you square calling yourself pro child health while cutting cancer research 2. Is this just political theater that uses kids as props ⸻ Segment 6: MAHA 2026 Political Weaponized Wellness Kennedy and Trump are positioning MAHA as a key wedge issue for the 2026 midterms. The strategy is to woo suburban women, independents, and younger voters with promises of food safety and wellness transparency (Axios (https://www.axios.com/2025/08/24/rfk-jr-maha-strategy-2026-midterms)). The contradiction is glaring. They say they care about your family's health, yet they are dismantling the very systems that could save your family from disease. It is not Make America Healthy Again. It is Make America Hypocritical Always. Questions: 1. Is this wellness movement just MAGA wrapped in Whole30 branding 2. How do Democrats fight back against a political cleanse disguised as health reform ⸻ OUTRO That is MAHA in all its kale washed glory. A movement pretending to save you from Lucky Charms while cutting off cancer research and gutting public health. This is violence with branding. Trump and Kennedy are not protecting families, they are using wellness as a mask for authoritarian power. Kendrick Lamar. Please take us out.
Bobby Kennedy, Jr. seemed on the right track when he launched his “Make America Healthy Again” campaign.Well, not the wacky-quacky part of that agenda, where he teeters off into the prickly thicket of medical voodoo and vaccine bugaboos. But he was onto something fundamentally important when he began to rally public opposition to the arrogance, greed, and willful destructiveness of pesticide peddlers and other Big Food profiteers. As Secretary of Health, Kennedy pushed Trump's “presidential commission on children's health” to take long-overdue action to rein-in those agribusiness contaminators of our food supply and natural resources. He called for limits and outright bans on industrial ag and food processing abuses that grow corporate profits at the expense of healthy kids.Great! But wait – the commission's draft report is now out, and none of Kennedy's most meaningful stuff is in it. None! There's no suggestion, for example, that even the most toxic cancer-causing pesticides should be outlawed, permanently removed from food products and our environment. What happened? Money. While Kennedy was publicly talking a good game, Big Food profiteers were paying a million dollars each to have intimate talks at private dinners with Trump. And when money talks, political integrity walks.Sadly, rather than resigning in protest of Trump's whitewash and rallying America's families to carry this betrayal into next year's elections, Kennedy is hyping the report's empty calories as a people's victory! But he can't make chicken salad out of chicken manure. Grassroots groups themselves call the gutted report “beyond laughable,” “profoundly disappointing” and “dangerous.”For genuine, structural change in food policy, go to Environmental Working Group: ewg.org.Jim Hightower's Lowdown is a reader-supported publication. When Brandon and Whitney Cawood's three-year-old son was expelled from daycare for aggressive behavior, they faced a crossroads that would change not only their lives but potentially millions of others. Rather than accepting the psychiatric diagnoses being pushed on them, they discovered something shocking: their son's severe behavioral issues weren't psychological at all—they were chemical reactions to synthetic food dyes hiding in his daily allergy medication and antibiotics.Within 48 hours of removing these petroleum-based chemicals from his diet, they met their real son for the first time. Calley Means has spent years pulling back the curtain on some of the most powerful industries in America, and what he shared with me was eye-opening. We talked about his journey from working inside the political machine to becoming a senior adviser to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and now one of the most outspoken critics of the food, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. Calley explained why he believes the health of our country starts with what we eat, and how the system is stacked against ordinary Americans from the time we are kids in school. He did not sugarcoat the reality. The statistics are dark, the incentives are broken, and the industries making billions off our sickness do not want to change. But Calley also brought hope by sharing why he still believes America can turn this around, what he is fighting for alongside RFK Jr. and Donald Trump, and the changes that could actually make us healthy again. This was a challenging and fascinating conversation that will make you question what you have been told about health, medicine, and the food on your plate. (2:00) Early nutrition guidelines were established by Seventh-day Adventists to eliminate the eating of meat. The facts are lined up and vetted in FAT: a documentary. (6:30) Vinnie curates knowledge of other experts on his show. (11:30) Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has caused some disruption to the messaging; however, as long as Big Pharma and Big Food are allowed to lobby, there won't likely be much change. Lobbying affects both sides of the aisle, and changes have not been made. (18:00) It's part of what has been driving the decrease in metabolic health of our society. (20:00) Being a registered dietician is a challenge; positions in hospitals and schools pay less than half of what Big Food will pay. On this episode of Stinchfield, Grant explains his support of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who just took a bold stand against Big Pharma by banning Thimerosal — a toxic mercury-based preservative once used in childhood vaccines and still used in flu shots and other vaccines today. This is a massive win for medical freedom, parental rights, and common sense. RFK Jr. is proving he's not afraid to challenge the corrupt pharmaceutical lobby and do what's right for the American people. Grant lays out why this move matters and why RFK Jr. deserves credit for doing what no one else in government has had the guts to do. Plus, the dirty truth about your steak. Most Americans have no idea that the cheap steaks sold in many grocery stores are Frankenstein meat — held together with an industrial enzyme known as “meat glue.” That’s right: scraps of meat stitched into a slab and sold to you as a premium cut. It’s misleading, unhealthy, and yet another example of Big Food putting profits over transparency. If you want real, unvaccinated, grass fed beef visit TWC.Health/Grant and click on wellness farms. In this episode, we dive into one of the most shocking truths about our modern food supply with Dr. Tera Fazzino, associate director at the KU Center for Addiction Research. What if we told you that the same tobacco companies that engineered cigarettes to be addictive also helped shape the foods you crave the most? From hyper-palatable snacks to sugary drinks, we unpack how these foods hijack your brain's reward system—and why it's so hard to stop eating them. Dr. Fazzino reveals the documented connection between Big Tobacco and Big Food, and why our current food environment might be more manipulated than we think. If you've ever felt like certain foods are literally irresistible, this episode will change the way you see your pantry.Sign up for our newsletter here! For weekly episodes, come join the Foodie Fam!Check out our book!Chat with us on IG @foodweneedtotalk!Be friends with Juna on Instagram and Tiktok! They're bright, colorful, and hiding a dangerous truth. While Europe BANS synthetic food dyes linked to ADHD and cancer, American kids are eating them by the pound—and Big Candy is fighting to keep it that way. From Skittles to Starburst, we expose the shocking double standard, the Texas AG's explosive nvestigation into Mars Inc., and the simple swaps to protect your family. This isn't just about candy—it's about corporate greed vs. your child's health.Special Guest: Dr. Tony O'Donnell, MAHA ambassador for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Sheila Dillon looks into claims that big food companies wield too much influence over government decisions and public health. The episode follows news from the youth-led campaign group BiteBack2030, which says its billboard campaign has been effectively silenced. The group recently organised a mock inquiry in Parliament, involving MPs, to share concerns about how junk food advertising and sponsorship are affecting the health of children in the UK.Sheila also hears from a group of protesters who marched to Downing Street this month, shouting the message “Fight Fake Food.” Organiser Rosalind Rathouse, from the Cookery School on Portland Street, says the public needs to know how the food they're eating is damaging their health. She is calling on everyone to learn to cook this summer. During the march, campaigners delivered a list of wishes to Downing Street, highlighting the changes they'd like to see in food policy. Also featured are Jennifer Richardson from The BMJ, which has been investigating the impact of commercial influence on children's health, and Cathy Cliff from the Soil Association, who submitted a Freedom of Information request to uncover the extent of food industry lobbying and its effect on government policy.Presented by Sheila Dillon Produced for BBC Audio in Bristol by Natalie Donovan
In this chapter, Dr. Schupbach analyzes the business of healthcare and a way he believes can let patients wage war on the mis-alligned incentives. This is a continuation of our Grand Rounds sequence. Come join Alex and Venk on this adventure! TEASER Specifically, childhood obesity is skyrocketing--1 in 5 children are now above the 95th percentile BMI for age and sex. A recent NEJM article showed Liraglutide (a medication that costs approximately $12,000 per year) was effective in children as young as 6 years old. This is just one example of many where cheap foods, expensive drugs, and band-aid solutions are generating record profits for the most powerful voices at the table. But are we truly acting in the best interests of our patients? What are the unintended consequences of these misaligned incentives? What is our responsibility in all this and where do we start if we want to be part of the solution?
Send us a textIt seems as though the great ‘Paleo Boom' has come and gone! All the books, all the podcasts- where have they gone?I've been writing and podcasting for more than 10 years; I used to listen to Robb Wolf and The Paleo Solution, Jimmy Moore and Livin La Vida Low Carb, Mark Sisson and his Primal Podcast, and many others. Don't hear much from Robb Wolf anymore- Jimmy Moore is locked in prison for God's sake- and Primal goes on, and is just kind of Paleo with a different name…Now, the cutting edge seems to be focussed on Carnivore, with Sean Baker and others. But is this carnivore pivot really all that much different than Paleo or Primal? Not really. Those are all just words that encapsulate a certain set of ideas- that living in a more ancestral way, more in keeping with that of our forebears, is far healthier and more beneficial than the modern, pharmaceutical and processed foods-based version of the present day. In other words, simpler is better.Carnivore could easily be another word for Paleo. It's just another, more extreme way to practice the way our ancestors lived. It is certainly A way, and a very simple way to have a ‘restart' with your health, that is possibly really messed up in the present day.I mean, you could call your paleo type of diet ‘The Great Grandparents diet', or the ‘Post nuclear apocalypse Diet', and the results would be very similar. The idea is just to get away from the modern conventions and pronouncements of current ‘experts' and getting back to timeless sorts of recommendations from the past. Time-tested and proven methods of health and wellness that have stood the test of time- of millennia- and not just those ideas that are being pushed by Big Medicine and the modern trinity of Pharmaceuticals, Big Food, and the Government .You know: Moe, Larry and Curly. The EXPERTS!I'm being a bit facetious, but in light of Fauci and the Covid disaster, along with the Low Fat food recommendations of the past 60 to 70 years, and the endless recommendations of Vegetable Seed Oils in our diets, well, the “experts” aren't looking too expert really, are they? And let's not forget the Exercise recommendations- “run long distances to gain complete fitness and above all, heart health…”. More nonsense in place of simple strength training, walking, and stretching! Grounding barefoot by walking on the earth, rather than sprint-running to exhaustion in timed races on tracks with over-cushioned shoes.I'm sure you get the idea. The Paleo Diet and Lifestyle hasn't gone away, not at all. Maybe the erstwhile leaders have left the field, moving on to other endeavors. But the movement is intact, as strong as it was when it was being promoted by figures such as Weston A. Price, the dentist who noticed in the 1920's and 30's the wonderful health of pre-industrial people who ate their ancestral diets and moved in the manner in which they had evolved over long periods of time. All of the tenets of Paleo are intact, and correct. Eliminate most of ‘modern medicine', including most vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs, especially for our children. Go back to ancient leaders, like Hippocrates, who said in old Greek times to “Let thy medicine be thy food, and thy food be thy medicine”. This is timeless truth!Eat good, basic foods like meat and dairy. Fermented dairy is best, and raw dairy is better than processed! Likewise with grains- they are optional, but if made in accordance with established traditions, such as sourdough fermentation, they can Support the show
On this episode of Stinchfield, Grant is joined by Celebrity Chef Andrew Gruel. The two pull back the curtain on the meat industry and expose the ugly truth: it’s no longer run by the hardworking American ranchers and local farmers—it’s been hijacked by massive multinational food conglomerates. These corporate giants aren’t just in it for profit—they’re manipulating how meat is raised, processed, and marketed, all while cutting corners on quality and jeopardizing our health. Grant breaks down how Big Food floods the market with ultra-processed, chemically-laced meat products disguised as "natural"—robbing us of the nutritional power that real meat used to deliver. Instead of supporting the ranchers who raise cattle the right way, the system props up factory farms, synthetic feedlots, and corporate meatpacking plants that treat animals and consumers like numbers. This isn’t just about food—it’s about control. And it’s time we fight back.

What if the same playbook that made cigarettes addictive is now being used to make our food irresistible? This week we're exploring Ariana Huffington's eye-opening piece about how Big Food borrowed tactics directly from Big Tobacco, using the same scientists and brain research to hook us on ultra-processed foods. We dig into a groundbreaking lawsuit that's drawing explicit connections between food companies and tobacco giants, and why this might be our "big tobacco moment" for the food industry. From a 1962 memo revealing that tobacco companies saw themselves as being "in the flavor business" to the staggering health costs we're paying today, this episode connects the dots between corporate strategy and our current health crisis - and explains why there's actually reason for hope. Happy Transformation Tuesday, y'all! It's admittedly been way too long. I took a summer pause to take my son to camp and decompress for awhile with the hopes that this time would inform future creativity. I have also been busy serving clients. On that note, if you would like a complimentary 20 minute consult to discuss any health improvement goals and see if we're a fit for working together, I'm here to listen. Simply connect with me at FavorFat@gmail.com.In this episode #68, we begin with a question from listener, Mary Ellen, who asked me about supplements. This is a topic on which I've evolved due to some personal experiences from experiencing “silent migraines” and learning about some mineral deficiencies. I answer Mary Ellen's good questions with some general advice about selecting supplements and share my own journey over the last couple of years regarding magnesium deficiency and finding Dolovent. If you have a question about supplements or anything else, be in touch! Then I move on to something that should NOT be controversial but is for some, especially the media funded heavily by Big Pharma and Big Food. Know that I aim to share my health-focused perspective and do not at ALL get political here. The Nourishment Mindset is apolitical; I can't think of a much worse way to get our cortisol levels up. Each time I do yoga, meditate, pray or engage in any form of self-care I'm actively trying to lower my stress hormones, which is why I generally avoid poly-tics as it has the opposite effect. The MAHA Report was authored by HHS and posted on the White House website. It focuses on identifying the root cause factors for the shocking levels of disease in our youth and how to Make America(‘s Children) Health Again. It's not perfect and frankly, there was almost nothing there that I didn't already know, but the point is that it's out there and it made national news. Although it should've been covered MUCH more extensively. We do not have a “health”care spending issue. We do have a massive problem with corporate capture and government entanglement, non-nutritive foods comprising the majority of our diets, being surrounded by endocrine disrupters, poor lifestyles and more. I dive into my take on each of these root causes then provide my answers to the necessary question of “what should my family do?” Tune in and then let me know your thoughts in the comments or directly.FINE READ-This is a heavy one! I'm nearing the half-way point of Dr. Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos. This dude gets an A++ for straight talk! Pretty intense but also quite readable. I'm a large fan of personal responsibility which seems to have fallen out of favor in our culture but it doesn't mean its ineffective. It is reminding me of one of the reasons I left a job I loved with a leading metabolic healthcare company: I wanted to be much more direct with my patients. Being in private practice affords me the ability to do just this and I'm aware that I'm not a fit for some people and that's okay!FINE RECIPE- Spicy Tuna Melt CupsThis is a protein and nutrient packed household favorite developed by my husband, Patrick. YUM!1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a muffin tin.2. In large mixing bowl combine 5 oz tuna, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup mayo (watch out for seed oils!), 1/4 cup chopped onions, 1.5 cups shredded cheese, 2T minced herbs of your choosing and salt and pepper to taste. We also like to add a generous shake of Pluck seasoning!3. Fill the muffin tins with the mixture and top with a jalepeno or other pepper if you like.4.Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes and enjoy. They make a great snack or lunch when you add a salad topped with extra virgin olive oil and a side of fermented goodness such as kimchi or sauerkraut.FINE FIND-I'm loving this life hack taught to me by the wonderful Dr. Elizabeth Moran of Premier Gynecology in Charlotte, NC. She's not only my doctor but a lifelong friend and SO knowledgeable about women's health.I love a good sized squirt of lemon and lime juice in my morning “mocktail” of sparkling water (love my Soda Stream) with a pinch of salt. I buy organic limes and lemons but often can't get through them before they turn. When visiting Elizabeth, I noticed she had them stored in dispensers in her fridge. She juices them after purchase and therefore has no issue with spoilage in her fridge. I bought these glass dispensers on Amazon to avoid plastic contamination et voilà! (If you're wondering what's to the right of them, that's super nutrient dense fermented cod liver oil we take by the shot chez Huey.)That's a wrap, friends. Many thanks for your support, questions and more. If you haven't purchased my book, The Nourishment Mindset, please consider doin so on Amazon or my website for a signed copy. America's obesity epidemic isn't an accident - it's a carefully orchestrated assault on your health designed to create lifelong customers for Big Food, Big Pharma, and the medical industrial complex. In this explosive investigation, we expose the shocking truth behind why two-thirds of Americans are now overweight or obese, and it has nothing to do with willpower or personal responsibility. This is biological warfare disguised as food, and you're the target.Prepare to be outraged as we reveal how food scientists have weaponized addiction by engineering hyper-palatable processed foods that hijack your brain's reward system more powerfully than cocaine. We'll expose the secret laboratory studies that proved these foods cause obesity, diabetes, and heart disease - studies that were buried by corporate executives who knew exactly what they were doing to the American people. From high fructose corn syrup that triggers unstoppable hunger to artificial additives that disrupt your hormones, from marketing campaigns that target children's developing brains to government nutrition guidelines written by food industry lobbyists - this is systematic poisoning for profit. But the conspiracy goes deeper than you could ever imagine. We'll reveal how pharmaceutical companies deliberately created the obesity crisis to sell you diabetes drugs, weight loss medications, and surgical procedures worth hundreds of billions annually. The same corporations making you fat are selling you the "cures" - and none of them actually work because that would destroy their business model. We'll expose the suppressed research on what really causes weight gain, the natural solutions they've criminalized, and the doctors who've been silenced for telling patients the truth. They don't want you thin, healthy, and energetic - they want you sick, dependent, and profitable. Your obesity isn't your fault - it's their business plan.
Episode 2661 - Vinnie Tortorich and Anna Vocino discuss cheese bites, go through a list of popular marketing snow jobs, and more. https://vinnietortorich.com/2025/06/marketing-snow-jobs-episode-2661 PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS YOU CAN WATCH ALL THE PODCAST EPISODES ON YOUTUBE - Marketing Snow Jobs But first, and very much not a "snow job": Eat Happy Kitchen has cheese bites coming out! (6:00) Vinnie wants to enjoy them as part of his Mt. Whitney hike this summer. The cheese bites are low carb, clean (no junk ingredients), crispy, and filled with flavor. Heart-healthy grains are a lie. (15:00) Grains can create inflammation, including in your blood vessels and heart. Grains are not “heart-healthy.” (16:30 Breakfast is not necessarily the most important meal of the day. (23:00) If you eat breakfast, have a couple of eggs instead. If you have tried a smaller eating window during the day, but your weight loss has slowed down, try eating a couple of eggs in the morning. All the meals you eat are important: it matters what you put into your body. (26:00) Coffee will stunt your growth is also a lie. (31:00) In 1895, C.W. Post came up with a product made of burnt grains. He started a smear campaign against coffee so he could sell more “Postum.” Drinking eight 8-oz glasses of water a day is another inaccurate recommendation. (38:00) Michelle Obama had tried to address health and food awareness, but appears to have been shut down by Big Food companies. The focus was changed to drinking more water and moving more. Marketing and social media are filled with snow jobs. (44:00) Anna fills Vinnie in on how TikTok shopping works. More News If you are interested in the NSNG® VIP group, register here! Why did it take government pressure for Kraft Heinz to clean up its act? The hosts unpack the conglomerate's pledge to drop artificial dyes from its products by 2027, and what it says about Big Food's priorities. The episode also features interviews with the founders of two remarkable early-stage brands: Maura Duggan of Fancypants Baking Co. and Allison Elliott of Farmer Foodie. Show notes: 0:35: The Biggest Apple. Pin It, Emma. Hey, Big Food - Why Now? Gamey-Time. Clear Use Case. – The hosts review the recently held BevNET Live Summer 2025 in New York City and how the event reflected a sense of positive energy throughout the beverage industry as well as the growing power of founder-driven innovation to meet modern consumer demands. They also discuss Pinterest's foray into e-commerce via a co-branded coffee launch with Emma Chamberlain along with Kraft Heinz's decision to remove artificial dyes by 2026 and whether companies should act proactively in response to clean label trends. Mike busts out some Berski, a new brand of ancestral meat sticks made with beef liver and heart, while John highlights Brightland's new line of everyday olive oils. 26:06: Interview: Maura Duggan, Founder & CEO, Fancypants Baking Co. – Maura shares her journey from baking decorative cookies in her apartment in 2004 to launching a full-fledged CPG brand in 2024. She discusses the company's transition from fresh bakery sales to packaged consumer goods, emphasizing their commitment to high-quality, nut-free ingredients and their signature small, crunchy cookies. Maura highlights the strategic use of bright red packaging and a playful peacock mascot to stand out on shelves, the importance of limited-edition flavors to keep consumers engaged, and the advantages of self-manufacturing. 41:45: Interview: Alison Elliott, Founder & CEO, Farmer Foodie – Alison talks about the origins of Farmer Foodie, which is known for its shelf-stable, dairy-free and gluten-free Cashew Parm products, her background in farming and social impact and how she started Farmer Foodie as a food blog and transformed it into a CPG company during the pandemic. Alison also discusses overcoming the challenges of landing retail placement, differentiating in a nascent category, and her products' appeal beyond vegan consumers. Brands in this episode: Fancypants Baking Co., Farmer Foodie, Olipop, Liquid Death, Chamberlain Coffee, Top Of The Mornin', Jell-O, Crystal Light, Kool-Aid, Berski, Archer, Yaza, Brightland, Graza, Mariona, Brez, Cann, Moshi, Kif

Episode 2659: Vinnie Tortorich and Chris Shaffer discuss three different topics that are all promoting mixed messages about health, and more. https://vinnietortorich.com/2025/06/promoting-mixed-messages-episode-2659 PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS YOU CAN WATCH ALL THE PODCAST EPISODES ON YOUTUBE - Promoting Mixed Messages Chris discovered an article in VegNews: a vegan Italian cookbook. (5:00) They divert to a bit of Italian-American history, which has had its challenges. (6:00) Back to the VegNews article: They ponder how an Italian meal can be vegan. (12:15) Vinnie's family grew veggies, but all the Italian meals centered around meat. There was a keto trial—a small trial—but testing high cholesterol. (22:00) They discuss how many studies have been misrepresented by not including countries whose cultural diets contain a lot of meat. Blue Zones has been misrepresented as well. The diets vary, and the level of meat is far more than what tends to be represented. The one thing all the Blue Zone cultures have in common is an active outdoor lifestyle. (37:00) If you want to get rid of heart disease, you must get rid of processed foods. (38:00) Lean Mass Hyper Responders have a different starting point to consider. (40:00) High cholesterol (LDL) in and of itself is not necessarily a problem; you need to look at it in conjunction with other factors. (42:00) The ADA launched the American Obesity Association. Novo Nordisk has contributed funds to the ADA. Novo Nordisk is the company that brought us Wegovy. (51:00) GLP-1s are not a Magic Pill; if they were, they wouldn't have deadly side effects. (52:30) The ADA amended its guidelines to say that GLP-1s should be the “first line of defense” of correction for T2 diabetes, rather than lifestyle. (54:00) The ADA is disengenuous because it receives millions of dollars from Big Food corporations each year to *not* tell you to cut out sugar and processed foods. (55:00) The information the ADA gives cannot entirely be trusted because of the sources of funding it receives. Follow Vinnie on X @vinnietortorich. You've been told to trust the experts. To eat more grains. To fear fat. But what if the very foundation of our nutrition guidelines was built not on science—but on religion, corporate funding, and government agendas? In this eye-opening solo episode, Nate Palmer breaks down the wild (and true) history behind the food pyramid. From enemas and yogurt colonics at Battle Creek Sanitarium, to Kellogg's anti-sex cereal crusade, to the billions that Big Food and Big Ag poured into shaping what you eat today—this episode is a masterclass in how we got here… and how to escape it. If you've ever wondered why the standard American diet is so broken, this is your moment of clarity. What You'll Learn: Why the food pyramid was never based on health—but on economics and politics The bizarre religious roots of our dietary guidelines (yes, cereal was invented to stop masturbation) How the USDA's dual mission created a massive conflict of interest The real reason fat was demonized—and who profited most from it How corporate donations to organizations like the American Heart Association shaped public perception What you can do today to eat against the pyramid and reclaim your health Resources & References: Procter & Gamble's $1.7M donation to the American Heart Association McGovern Committee Dietary Goals (1977) Sugar Research Foundation's funded studies to blame fat over sugar (1967) USDA Farm Subsidy Data (1995–2020, via EWG.org) Kellogg and Battle Creek Sanitarium archives Loma Linda University & Seventh-day Adventist dietary influence

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just exposed a dangerous loophole in our food system: the GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) designation, which allows food companies to self-approve chemical additives without real oversight. In this episode, we break down how the FDA has been captured by Big Food, why ingredients banned abroad are still on our shelves, and what needs to change to protect American health.
