Matthew 21:7-9 Hosanna is typically translated as “Please Save Us”. Timeline of Jesus last week: • Sunday: • Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem (Everyone shouts Hosanna!) • Monday: • Jesus cleanses the temple and runs out the money-changers • Matthew 21:13 “He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you make it a den of robbers.” • Matthew 21:15-16 “But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant, 16 and they said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, “‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise'?” • Tuesday: • Jesus curses the fig tree. • Wednesday: • Sanhedrin plot to kill Jesus • Wednesday/Thursday: • Preparations begin for Passover • Thursday: • The Last Supper - Jesus with Disciples • Jesus prays in the Garden of Gethsemane - Jesus sweats blood during prayer • Friday (Good Friday) • Jesus betrayed by Judas • Jesus arrested • Jesus put on trial with Jewish leaders: Annas and Caiaphas • Peter denies Jesus three times • Jesus put on trial with Roman leaders: Goes before Pilate (Everyone Shouts Crucify Him!) • Jesus is scourged, crowned with thorns, and mocked as Kings of the Jews • Jesus is crucified on the cross • Started about 9am • Jesus died on the cross about 3pm • This is Day 1 • Jesus is buried in the tomb in the Evening. • Saturday: • This is Day 2 • Sunday: Easter Sunday • This is Day 3 • Mary Magdalene finds the empty tomb. • Mary tells the disciples and Peter and John go to see for themselves. • Jesus appears to His disciples. • (Jesus is not dead, He is Alive!) How did we go from praising Jesus and yelling “Hosanna” to yelling “Crucify Him” in the span of a week? The issue is our sin. • Romans 2:23 “For have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” • We wanted Jesus to be something He wasn't and do things against His plan. • We still do this today. • We still try to get Jesus to do our will instead of accepting the Will of Jesus. • We still try to get Jesus to bend to our will and do our bidding. • Jesus is not a genie in a bottle. You don't get your wishes. • We choose things and people over Jesus all the time! • We choose our own Barabbas…sometimes daily. We look to Jesus just as the Jewish people did…wanting a mighty King and warrior who is to overthrown the darkness that has taken over. Lets look at what scripture says… • John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” • 1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” • Colossians 2:15 “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” What are you to yell now church? Hosanna! (Please Save Us) or Crucify Him!? You want a King that has won the battle? You want a King that was the victory? You want a King who is willing to take your place and raise you up on high? You want a King who would die for you? You have One…His name is Jesus!
Die Musikwelt gedenkt des 100. Todestags von Gabriel Fauré und feiert den 200. Geburtstag von Anton Bruckner. Frage der Woche mit Pfarrerin Christine Sieber: Warum hat Judas Jesus verraten?
Join us as we continue to discuss the Gospel of John with 13:18-14:14. Join me, Rick Fails, Tasha, and first-timer Travis Burns as we discuss Judas, the disciple's betrayal, Jesus' warning of going away, along with assurances Jesus gave.
In this episode, we look at verses 18-30 of chapter 13 from the Book of John. Jesus is still at His last Passover dinner before He is crucified for the sins of mankind. After washing His disciples' feet, He tells them that one of them will betray Him. In fact, He points out Judas as the betrayer; however, none of the other disciples realized it was Judas Jesus was referring to. Gast: Pfr.

The Psalmist prayed against one who "did not remember to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and the brokenhearted, to put them to death. He loved to curse; let curses come upon him!" What should we make of this? I. The psalmist's complaint to God, vv1-7. II. The psalmist's curses, vv8-15. III. The wicked man's character, vv16-20. IV. The psalmists' cry to God, vv21-29. V. When I laid my hands on her stomach, she began to manifest and growl and convulse. The demon in hiding exposed itself and it was on its way out! She loved the Lord and served Him, yet she was bound by a spirit and did not know it! Many believers in Christ have demon spirits manipulating, oppressing, and demonizing them and they do not know it. Christians can have a demon in their soul (mind, will and emotions) and body, but they have all authority to drive it out. Some of the church has believed a lie that a Christian cannot have a demon and that lie has left the church powerless, with demons in the pulpit and pastors that should step down or be delivered. The power to deliver is now! It is in Christ! It is for believers! Here are just a few scriptures of those who love, and service God yet demonized or manipulated by a demon: Peter - Jesus said, “Get behind Me Satan.” Matt. 16:22-23 James and John – Jesus said, “You know not what spirit you are of…” Luke 9:52-56 Women with the spirit of infirmity (daughter of Abraham). She was bound by Satan – Luke 13:11, 16 Judas – Jesus' disciple. Was demonized by Satan. John 6:10-71, 13:27 Believers delivered by Paul's handkerchiefs or aprons and the disease departed from them and the evil spirits left out of them. Warum hat Judas Jesus verraten? Was bedeutet sein Beiname Iskariot? Sollte Judas uns leidtun?

Think Spot - 26th August 2019 Luke 2:42-52 - Every year Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they travelled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. ; Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you." "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. Matthew 13:53-55 - When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Jesus is the ultimate wise man! As we read the Gospels, we see that when Jesus spoke words, people were amazed! They were astounded that He spoke with wisdom, elegance and yet with authority. They had never heard anyone speak like He did - with both grace and authority. The same is true today, if we are listening. That is why we read the Bible to find out what He would say to us. That is why we seek to hear Him speak to us and why we speak to Him. That is why preaching is to be seen as an act of worship - by both the preacher and the listener! Jesus' wisdom meaning I can ask Him for advice and seek His imagination to solve problems! As you go into this week ask Jesus to help you, guide and speak to you through the Bible, regardless of what situation you face! Jesus, Son of God, the ultimate wise man! Prayer A prayer to help you into this new week. Father, we thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ! We thank you for the Bible! We thank you for godly men and women who preach and teach this wisdom of Jesus to us, explaining and exploring how we can put this wisdom into practise! May the Holy Spirit within each believer, rebuke and counsel, as that believer seeks to live a life worthy of Jesus Christ. Amen! In Episode 20 I’m going to be getting back into my book, New: Wineskins and the Simple Words of Christ. As with chapters 1-4, I’ll be giving you an audio version of Chapter 5, which is called Judas & Jesus. And here in chapter 5 I discuss how If it was prophesied that Judas would betray Jesus, did he really have a shot at having faith in Jesus and receiving eternal life? If not, what does that say about God, who supposedly so loves the world? You will discover that the early Christians’ view on the issues of God’s sovereignty and mankind’s free will are neither Calvinistic nor Arminian, yet they are absolutely biblical. If you’re blessed by this episode, I’d really appreciate it if you’d leave an honest review on my iTunes channel, Reclaiming the Faith. Perhaps the best example of a non-Christian being able to perform good works by God’s grace is found in the story of Cornelius in Acts 10, particularly in verses 1-4 where unregenerate Cornelius is told by an angel from God that his prayers and gifts to the poor have ascended as a memorial before God. These good deeds were clearly pleasing to God, yet Cornelius’s righteous acts could not save him. Randy L. Maddox, Responsible Grace: John Wesley’s Practical Theology (Nashville, TN: Kingswood Books, 1994), p. 74. Maddox describes the Eastern view of the effects of the Fall: “The true significance of the Fall was our loss of the Spirit’s immediate Presence, resulting in the introduction of mortality into human life. This mortality weakened our human faculties and effaced our moral Likeness of God. Thus, the Fall did render us prone to sin, but not incapable of co-operating with God’s offer of healing. As a result, we only become guilty when we reject the offered grace of God, like Adam and Eve did.” Bible Hub, δουλεύοντες, accessed March 2, 2015, http://biblehub.com/greek/douleuontes_1398.htm. Judas had blown it. Big time. No doubt. But did his story have to end the way it did, or is it possible that God's grace really is, as the old hymn says, "a grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt"?
Mark 14—Jesus is anointed with oil—He eats the Passover, institutes the sacrament, suffers in Gethsemane, and is betrayed by Judas—Jesus is falsely accused, and Peter denies that he knows him.
