Today on the show, Strategy + Action = Recruiting with Engaging Content. Julian Placino is on the show today. I've had the great fortune to know Julian for several years now from the beginnings of his show Pathways to Success, to leaving his full-time job to start his own company. We dig in specifically around the business he's created to help companies recruit at a level nobody else is doing ... ...in a way nobody else is doing, taking his amazing skills as a recruiter, and then his skills as a media creator and combining those into a system for companies to reach candidates that aren't even looking and to convince those who are looking to consider them. As Julian points out in the show, "Everyone wins when a company is fully staffed." We're in a time right now when there is massive competition for hiring great talent. And companies need to not just "have a great company culture" ... that we hear about a lot, right? They need to be able to show that candidate how their culture really is different and what they really value and show it in a way that's going to help that candidate make that quick decision. Julian is creating systems for companies to empower their entire staff to bring in top talent and funnel them to internal recruiters. Julian brings us some incredible insights around the power of personal branding as well: - When you can see content as a way of creating passive income for your reputation, then you will start to see its real power. "I create a piece of content once and it pays me over the lifetime as social equity." - "Increased access to people gives you increased access to opportunity." We dig into Julian's background quite a bit, but we spend a whole lot of time around this new amazing offer and what he's doing for companies now.

What do you see are the common mistakes people make when growing their personal brand? What was one of your biggest limiting beliefs that held you back from really building your personal brand faster? What platform do you think is the best platform to go all in on in 2020 to create content as a personal brand? I am thrilled to introduce my guest today on the show, Julian Placino. We have built an online and offline relationship that has culminated with the co-creation of an industry event this past September in Dallas (that we will get into). In my opinion, our relationship is an incredible example of the power of real networking. We were initially connected about a year ago by my friend and mutual connection, Brian Altomarie. We had a networking chat and Julian graciously invited me on his Pathways to Success podcast to share my story. That evolved to where we are today and more to come. Julian, is a Fortune 500 Speaker who's spoken hundreds of times at various corporations, conferences, universities, and nonprofits. He is also the host of the extremely successful Pathways to Success Podcast, where he interviews exceptional leaders about their journeys to success including company founders, CEOs, New York Times bestselling authors, TEDx speakers, celebrity athletes, and prolific entrepreneurs like myself! And he does so much more including modeling, acting and was recently cast in the Amazon Prime Docu-Series, The Social Movement, a reality TV show about creating social impact through entrepreneurship that will be released in the Summer of 2020. But his core background is in 11 year of 11 years of recruiting experience, he's helped leading corporations attract, recruit, and retain top talent. I believe some of our goal setting is mistaken. While we are taught to go for goals that focus on money and career, there are better goals that speak to our hearts, that come from within. My guest today emulates this idea. Rather than setting the goal of earning x amount of $ selling real estate, he asked himself “what would it look like if I was to create something that I truly loved and didn’t worry about making money?” By asking ourselves this question I believe we open ourselves up to more opportunities and to what really excites us. Look at your life like a smoothie and the combination of fruits and veggies make up the smoothie of the life that is you. Blended together is a unique individual product only created by you with all the things you’re interested in. As a multipotentialite, your combination becomes your specialty. This is why I call Julian Placino is a multipotentialite I met Julian while helping out at a Young leaders for Education event last year at SMU. Currently he is a senior recruiting and staffing professional paid keynote speaker recruiting lead for bottle rocket studios - a premier mobile developer in the world training entrepreneur where he offers professional development sales and recruiters in the staffing industry and the host of the Pathways to success podcast, where he interviews various leaders on their journeys to success A couple highlights on today’s episode: If you center your life around G-d first everything flows into place. What you naturally do well, what you enjoy doing, and what helps other people Find someone that is doing what he wanted to do Go try something in that field, talk to others in that field, take 1 step at a time towards something you love. How to relax
