These bus trips are fun, but man…is the next morning rough! Had a blast on the bus trip to Miller Park yesterday to see the Bob Uecker Celebration of Life. I think the Brew Crew did a great job paying homage to a legend. Except for the outcome of the game, obviously. Jean was off again today to finish up her weekend of moving her daughter into the dorms in Madison, but she should be back tomorrow to tell us all about her emotional weekend. In the news this morning, a Chippewa Valley contractor has been charged with stealing from multiple clients, a missing Hinckley woman has been found dead in Wisconsin, a confirmed case of screwworm(a flesh-eating parasite) in the U.S.A., and Kilmar Abrego Garcia is set to turn himself over to authorities later this morning. In sports, we recapped the Brewer game and the Uecker ceremony, took a look at this past weekend's NFL action & NCAA football scores, Cal Raleigh keeps hitting home runs, and the weekend in NASCAR. Elsewhere in sports, we had another green dildo on the field of play, and the LLWS wrapped up yesterday with another championship for Chinese Taipei. Talked about what's on TV today/tonight and Coldplay are at it again with their kiss-cam shenanigans. A world record has been set in the realm of tacos, and a man's cross necklace saved his life! Coffee is a mood-booster, according to a new study. And a new dating term, "Shrekking" is making it's way into the vernacular. Did you see how cheap the Bengals are? Cincy legend Boomer Esaison isn't having any of it! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a drunk #FloridaWoman who TP'd her neighbor's car while wearing a hot dog costume, a Smokey the Bear sign in Pennsylvania keeps getting stolen, the "serial butt-sniffer" has been arrested AGAIN, an IHOP waitress is in big trouble for sexually assaulting a female customer, a flight attendant was found naked & on the floor of the plane's bathroom, and a couple of guys who tried to steal a BBQ smoker from the Bengals' stadium.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Baltimore Orioles have extended Samuel Basallo a week into his major league career. The 21-year-old reportedly agreed to an eight-year, $67 million extension that can max out at $88.5 million with incentives. The Orioles seem to like what they see in the young catcher, but that leads to questioning what will become of Adley Rutschman. Nothing will happen to him right now as the former top prospect has gone to the IL with an oblique injury. What does his future with the Orioles look like and when does Basallo become the guy? Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman discuss this surprising turn of events.Basallo hasn't been the only young player making moves as multiple teams have recently called up star prospects. The Pirates, Rays, Red Sox, Reds and Guardians have all made moves that caught Jordan's attention. He fills you in on all of the prospects who have been brought up and shares his insight on each of them.Later in the show, the ever-evolving world of media rights is the hot topic. It appears that Major League Baseball's media rights situation is starting to wrap-up with ESPN, Netflix and NBC all being involved. Apple is also, potentially, joining the group. What does this mean for the fans' ability to watch games going forward? Jake and Jordan give their thoughts on the whole situation. Plus, Jake gives a special Little League World Series report. With the championship games to be played this weekend, the guys reflect on the tournament and Jake reviews who the players' favorite MLB players are. They discuss what kind of insight this gives to the state of the game and the players who were selected.Lastly, everyone's favorite time of the week. The Good, The Bad & The Uggla. A former MLB player announces his new baseball academy, a current MLB player notches his first steal in the majors and a potential future MLB player's father takes to X about his son's fender bender incident. While waiting breathlessly for actual football games (that count) to start, South Dakota State fans and media felt an early Christmas present drop in their lap on Monday with the news of the Jackrabbits accepting an invitation to play Montana in the new Vegas Kickoff Classic at Allegian Stadium — home of the Raiders — in 2029. In this week's addition of "Nobody's Listening Anyway" over cocktails at the Gateway Lounge, Happy Hour Host John Gaskins and Sioux Falls Live sports reporter Matt Zimmer dive into the relevance and meaning behind this news. Then, more preseason banter about the the Jacks and South Dakota Coyotes. SDSU quarterback Chase Mason offered another reason to brace for a breakout season with remarks he made on Happy Hour last week, but how much stock do we take in them? Plus, what is the "sneaky" significant aspect of the '25 Jacks that nobody is really talking about, and what is the most-anticipated part of USD football beyond senior QB Aidan Bouman?Meanwhile, what do we make of both the intense local and global spotlight shining brightly on South Dakota's 12-year-olds at the Little league World Series, while our high schoolers playing in recent state legion tourneys and grown men competiting in the state amateur events appear to play second fiddle? Why is Zim "not surprised buy devastated" of the Pohlad family it is not selling the Minnesota Twins after all? Enjoy a deep dive of deep-rooted contempt of 40 years of ownership. Finally, SDSU legend Zach Zenner recently remarked that he had only had five alcoholic beverages in his life, that he had never been drunk, and that alcohol doesn't enhance any situation it is consumed. As Zim and John sipped on Budweiser and Tito's on an idle Tuesday afternoon, enjoy the response.

A "loser virus" seems to have infected the team, leading to contagious losses and a sloppy performance. Gio is frustrated, throwing a helmet off the desk, and both Jerry and C-Lo share his fatigue. Gio blames Cedric Mullins' poor route for a run, while Jerry sees the Mullins trade as a mistake. Carlos Mendoza is at a loss for words. A caller suggests firing Mendoza and hiring Wally Backman, but Jerry thinks Carlos Beltran will be the next manager. Gio disagrees. A Missouri caller rubs salt in the wound, and another caller's brother-in-law, a long-time stadium worker since The Beatles' concert, will throw out the first pitch. Hour 2 Gio fears a dark October for New York sports. Jerry sees the Giants' strong defense as a playoff hope, while Gio is less optimistic about the Giants and Jets. They anticipate the Giants-Jets preseason game, differing on the Giants' 2025 offense. The hour concludes with a discussion on Stanley Cup craze, crazy headlines, and Boomer's temperament. Hour 3 "Feel Good Friday" features "Surfside" talk, an online beef between WFAN callers, and the Mets' lack of an ace. Social media's impact is discussed, with Eddie opting out. C-Lo provides an update, while Gio asks Fliegs about Taylor Swift's new album. Gio and Jerry recall Gio meeting Dua Lipa.
