Ring footage captured the chilling moment when 21-year-old pre-med student Emmanuel Espinoza concealed a knife behind his back before brutally stabbing his mother, Elvia Espinoza, over 70 times at her front door. The tragic event unfolded as Emmanuel was heading to a family gathering for his grandfather, when his mother asked him to stay with her at her residence two hours south of Orlando for the weekend. The disturbing video, timestamped around 2 p.m. on Saturday, shows Emmanuel approaching his mother's home dressed in casual attire, concealing something in his left hand, which was later revealed to be a knife. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd disclosed that Emmanuel, listening to Jay Z and Kanye West's “No Church In the Wild” on his approach, swiftly attacked his mother the moment she opened the door, stabbing her repeatedly in a meticulously planned assault. “He knocked on the door, and his beautiful mother was so excited to see her son. She opened the door,” Polk County Sheriff said as he played the footage during a press briefing. The Sheriff said that Espinoza charged into the house and started stabbing his mother the second the door was opened. He added that Espinoza told investigators he knew where to stab his mother for maximum effect because of his biology classes. “We have another audio that we're not going to play from the inside of the house, where [his mom is] screaming, ‘Manny, Manny, Manny' and he's not saying one word. He stabbed her in excess of 70 times,” Sheriff Judd said. “And as he was standing at the kitchen sink, washing himself off and the knife, he wanted to ask his mother for the Neosporin, for the cut on his hand. But he noticed she was dead.” Espinoza then called 911 and confessed to the murders. Sheriff Judd further revealed that Emmanuel harbored feelings of anger towards his mother for years, expressing a desire to kill her, which he finally acted upon. Despite his mother's pleas during the attack, Emmanuel remained silent, inflicting more wounds even as she attempted to rise from the floor.  Following the gruesome incident, Emmanuel dialed 911 and confessed to dispatchers, leading to his arrest and subsequent charge of first-degree murder. The community was left reeling from the tragedy, particularly as Elvia Espinoza was known as a beloved second-grade teacher at Frostproof Ben Hill Griffin Jr. Elementary School, cherished for her vibrant personality and love for her family. Emmanuel Espinoza made his first court appearance on April 7, with a bond set at $5,000 for destroying or tampering with evidence, and no bond granted for the charge of first-degree murder. Along the way he decided to change career paths and started his own company. One entrepreneurial venture led to another, and soon he and his husband were launching a new gay adult site called Mormonboyz. Almost 20 years later, with considerable experience in the adult entertainment industry, Legrand Wolf is reshaping the landscape of adult content. Dr. Erkeda DeRouen talks to Dr. Sejal Desai, a family medicine physician with over 20 years of experience with a board certification in obesity medicine. They discuss how medical students can navigate their med school journeys and the feeling of burnout, work-life balance, and the three things she wished   [00:00] Introduction [03:19] A Med Student's Life Journey [05:44] Navigating Burnout [11:44] Three Things Dr. Desai Wishes She Knew Before Starting Out [17:45] Is Work-Life Balance Possible? [21:04] What Dr. Desai Would Change About US Healthcare [22:47] Parting Thoughts  Navigating Burnout Dr. Desai dislikes the word “burnout” especially in medicine where physicians are just simply told what to do. She believes that it's important for med students to take some time, focus on themselves, and figure out what it is that they really want. She cites Jay Shetty, a motivational speaker, and the concept of “dharma” as an important learning, which is all about figuring out our place in the world and using our gifts to make a better place. From this, it's important for medical students to take some time and re-evaluate their where and why to help them navigate their eventual path and career. Dr. Desai's Advice in Retrospect Dr. Desai shares three things she wished she knew before starting out her career as a family medicine physician: first is that bedside manners matter more than grades. Grades are important, but they are not everything, especially when patients care more about how attentive and honest doctors are and not what grade they got in medical school. Secondly, medicine is not just about helping patients but also administrative work such as documentation, labs, and imaging to name a few. Managing your time according to this is crucial to prevent being overworked and overwhelmed. Lastly, she realized how big of a role lifestyle plays in disease. Almost all diseases are related to four things: nutrition, physical activity, quality of sleep, and stress levels. If we learn and fix this early in life, we can fix a lot of health problems in the long run. Work-Life Balance Contrary to popular belief, Dr. Desai believes that work-life balance is achievable. She suggests paying attention to three important things when it comes to work-life balance. First is communicating well and setting expectations with colleagues on time and schedules, second is delegating tasks, and the last one is scheduling the downtime such as personal hobbies and self-care. Reach out to Dr. Sejal Desai via Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and her website for more details about her work.   To learn more about how MedSchoolCoach can help you along your medical school journey, visit us at Prospective Doctor.  You can also reach us through our social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MedSchoolCoach Dr. Erkeda's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/doctordgram/ YouTube: www.youtube.com/@ProspectiveDoctor

Knowing each other for less than a year, we have this thing where we stare deeply into each other's eyes, and the exam answers just appear. We appreciate wholesome, organic food from our beautiful mother Earth, even if it means breaking the bank, and on the toughest days, we bring our own emotional stamina to the lecture hall. Ally graduated in 2023 from UC Riverside with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, where she was a Division 1 softball athlete with the goal of becoming a Naturopathic doctor. Ally began her healing journey at age 15, and today, she spills the tea. We talk about all things, including diet, lifestyle, dating, friendships, and so much more. The truth is, we have to make a conscious choice to surround ourselves with people who bring joy and growth into our lives and are secure enough in themselves to be real and solid whether you're shining or struggling.
