On today's show, we have a special presentation from the latest NFPA Quarterly Technology Conference. Our Quarterly Technology Conferences are done in collaboration with MSOE's Fluid Power Industrial Consortium. They feature presentations on market-ready fluid power technologies and allow for networking across the fluid power supply chain – as suppliers, manufacturers, and OEMs come together for mutual benefit. Our March 7, 2024 event was focused on Fluid Power technologies that are helping to drive industrial machines towards Predictive and Preventative Maintenance. Two of our presenters were Kris Mikulan and Connor Dudas, both from Schroeder Industries. What follows is a recording of the presentation they gave at this March Quarterly Technology Conference. If you want to follow along with their slides, we've put links in the show notes that will allow you to watch the presentation recording here. The presentation was titled “Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring.” Connect with the host, Eric Lanke, at elanke@nfpa.com or on LinkedIn at the National Fluid Power Assocation.

It's Short Time Shots, a quick look at the day's wrestling scores and more. I am on the struggle bus realizing that my dad jokes and bad jokes might only be funny to … one of you. Anyway, I'm Jason Bryant and here's what you are catching up on for November 16. A wild crowd saw Division II Montevallo pick up the first home win in program history, a 27-16 triumph over NAIA Midway. Do yourself a favor, go to MontevalloW on Twitter and check out how boisterous the home crowd is. And remember folks, this is a first-year Division II program in ALABAMA. Montevallo is the first Division II program in Alabama since Jacksonville State, yes, it's in Alabama, dropped the sport as a Division II school in 1981. The only other option would be Troy, then known as Troy State, which fielded a program in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Mount Olive upended King 23-17 but we saw something we typically don't see in college wrestling and that's someone bump UP to get the ranked matchup rather than bump away. With Mount Olive holding a 14-9 lead after 165, King bumped up seventh-ranked Trent Mahoney to take on Mount Olive's seventh-ranked 174-pounder Calan Straub. Tied 5-5 after 1, Mahoney went up 8-5 in the second, but in the third, Straub earned the fall 43 seconds into the period in what turned out to be a crucial win for the Trojans. Heavyweight Jayln McClammy iced the dual with an 8-3 win at heavyweight for Mount Olive. Props for the move, it made for an exciting dual. 14th-ranked Pitt-Johnstown shutout East Stroudsburg 47-0 in PSAC competition. Ranked wins registered for the Mountain Cats by seventh-ranked Trevon Gray at 125 pounds, Jacob Ealy at 149 pounds, Dakoda Rogers at 197 and Isaiah Vance at 285 pounds. This also makes me feel quite old, because I covered Trevon Gray's father Teante in high school. He actually wrestled the best man in my wedding multiple times. Coach Pat Pecora picked up career coaching win nine billion. Belmont Abbey shutout undermanned Bluefield State 56-0. Too many forfeits here. The Green Mountain Championship went the way of Vermont State University-Castleton, which beat Norwich 50-6. No, this is NOT a new school. The school formerly known as Castleon University merged with Vermont Technical College and Northern Vermont University to create Vermont State University. So with the unification, the name we are supposed to refer to the old Castleton Spartans is now Vermont State University-Castleton. Not Vermont State-Castleton. Vermont State University-Castleton. Also, in case you were wondering, Vermont is the Green Mountain State. Wayne Campbell celebrates as Aurora, which you should know is in Illinios, beat Milwaukee School of Engineering, also known as MSOE, 32-20. Angel Jaimes' fall at 197 pounds sealed it for the host Spartans. No word if they have that Spartan Spirit as I cram TWO SNL references into one scoreline. Another traveling trophy was on the line as UW-Eau Claire spanked UW-Oshkosh … b'gosh … 49-6 to retain the Chancellor's Cup. Southern Virginia over Patrick & Henry 48-7. Those three old grouches in Buena Vista left happy. In the Keystone State, Delaware Valley beat York, the one in Pennsylvania 32-7. Top win for the Aggies was at 157 pounds where Nick DeLorezno knocked off 14th-ranked Jared Blair of York 6-3. The women's teams also squared off, with Delaware Valley winning there as well 36-8. In an all-Arkansas battle, Vinny Barber's University of the Ozarks Eagles topped Division II Ouachita Baptist 25-17 on the road in Arkadelphia on Wednesday. Props here goes to the squads for wrestling five extra bouts as well. In the NAIA, Grand View extended its win streak against NAIA competition to 157 in a row with a pair of shutout wins against Avila and Central Methodist in a tri-meet hosted at CMU. The Vikings beat Avila 56-0 and Central Methodist 50-0. The last time Grand View lost to an NAIA opponent came on January 16, 2011 against Lindenwood, which was then an NAIA squad. St. Ambrose handing out yet another heartbreaker as the Bees won for the second night in a row, this time topping William Penn 20-18. The night prior, they edged Graceland by a point. This time, it was three straight wins from 184-197 that lifted the Bees to the victory, with a key fall coming by Jayden Terronez at 174. Oklahoma Wesleyan picked up its first win of the season, topping Bethany, the one in Kansas, 41-12 in KCAC action. Rochester, (Mich.) beat Lourdes 24-18. Missouri Valley beat Benedictine (Kan.) 45-6. NJCAA Cowley beat Division II Newman 33-17 in Kansas. Also in Junior College action, Carl Albert State and Labette both beat Barton. Meet Roberta (Robbie) Oldenburg:With over 20 years of experience in the design and construction industry to her role as director of business development at Findorf. As a leader in the male-dominated construction industry, Roberta has served in multiple roles throughout her career, from onsite engineer to virtual modeler to business developer. Regardless of her title, she has a special focus on helping women succeed through mentorship, unique learning opportunities, and encouragement.Lori: Why did you see the need to get involved or create these women-focused organizations?Robbie: Well, I grew up in a small town with my mom. We had an untraditional relationship where my mother wore the pants of the family and stuff. And so I always had this female support person who told me I could do whatever I wanted to do. And there was no male work or women's work and stuff. And I was so fortunate. But then when I came into the industry, I noticed not every woman has that. And they don't have the support from other individuals and they don't know their value. So it was really important for me to get involved in some of these organizations and really to help bring up our other women peers in the AEC industry.Kris: Can you tell us some of the names of the organizations that you've been a part of just so that we in the audience get a good feel for that?Robbie: Oh, absolutely. W. Crew is one of the first organizations I joined, which was Women in Racial Real Estate Wisconsin. And then we have Women in Design, MKE, which is based on a bunch of my design partners and friends as I went to school for architecture. And that was to help us women to promote each other and promote ourselves and share all the great things we're doing. Empower Her is a newer organization that I'm helping with and assisting with. And that is focused on the craft ladies in the field. And then one other one that I'm working with is Women Developing Wisconsin in partnership with MSOE, which is again connecting the bridge between students, and professionals, and really empowering and helping women network so that they can grow.Kris: As you've been a part of some of these organizations, how have you seen them change or evolve over time?Robbie: Yeah, no, that's a great question. I feel like when I first started and when I was younger, it was more about professional development. And equity is a big word these days, right? We're trying to get equity for everyone. And so we're focused more on professional women rising up to the glass ceiling, breaking the glass ceiling. And now we're focused more, me being in construction, is looking at the craft or the women that are in the trades and how can we bring equity to those women, anywhere from childcare or just having the support or mentorship to support them. And again, we think about all of us being, I would say, office individuals, but we're not boots on the ground in the field, putting concrete in place. And so as these organizations, as we're growing and stuff, we're really diving in deeper to really help other individuals that may not have the same resources that we have. And so much more… Connect with Robbie!

Welcome to another episode of Tech in MKE: conversations with business leaders who have a connection to Milwaukee where we chat about the state of technology in their organizations, what makes a city “techie”, and Milwaukee's connected tech scene. In this one, I sit down with Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) president, Dr. John Walz. MSOE is a school that contributes to the net "brain gain" in Wisconsin. A school that attracts students from across the country and around the world. Dr. Walz and I touch on the usual topics about MSOE, of course. But, we also dig into how MSOE is doubling down on tech - specifically emerging technologies. Will those investments pay off? Will Milwaukee be better for it? Jump into this one for the answers. Tech in MKE is graciously sponsored by Harley-Davidson, The Milwaukee Tech Hub Coalition, Expedient, Brooksource, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Welcome to Episode 111 of The Podcast About Division III Baseball. It's time to talk about the Central region AKA Region 7, previewing all the favorites in each conference. In order: CCIW (at 1:25) North Central (IL) looks to bounce back with another loaded squad after an injury-plagued 2022 Augustana is going to Florida two different times?! and also looks pretty damn good, especially on the mound Millikin should be solid again, we trust this program HCAC (at 14:30) Earlham are the defending champs and also one of our new favorite teams for understandable reasons Franklin should be good again but have some elite talent to replace Rose-Hulman and Transylvania should be competing in a very balanced middle of this conference NACC (at 29:15) Aurora continues to mystify us in some ways but we think they'll be pretty awesome again Benedictine has some good pieces back, including a big HR threat MSOE looks to defend their title with some elite pitching SLIAC (at 42:30) Webster is as good a regional bet as any in all of D-III and now looks more offense-heavy than pitching for the first time in a while UAA (at 55:37) It was tough to follow the 2021 World Series team but we're hoping (and believing) the 2022 campaign was just a down year for the WashU Bears We conclude (at 1:02:20) with our player and pitcher of the year picks, and our teams to beat. This week we interview Saj Thachenkary, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement at MSOE. We enjoyed a wide-ranging discussion about not only MSOE and its vital role in downtown Milwaukee, but higher education, the Milwaukee restaurant scene, insights into the marketing world, and Saj's seasonal drinks of choice. All aided with a few Miller Lites.
Chris Raebel's life thus far has been a fruitful and varied journey, all without having to stray from the city he loves--Milwaukee--for too long.

Since March 2019, the Open Record team has produced more than 230 new episodes. As we work to produce all new material starting in October, we're spending the month of September revisiting some of our favorites. This week, an encore presentation of an episode we recorded in a classroom at MSOE in 2019. It's a tough, but important topic – Death and Dying. We're doing something different for this episode of "Open Record." A few weeks ago, we got an email asking if we would speak to a group of students at The Milwaukee School of Engineering. That part's not unusual, we get those all the time. But this was for a class called, "Death and Dying." It's an issue we encounter repeatedly as journalists. We asked MSOE if we could record the conversation and turn it into a podcast episode. They said yes.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hope you are having an awesome start to your Thursday. This is Elliot lane, host of Benzinga cannabis daily bringing you your daily dose of cannabis, news, and insights. Chatting about cannabis stocks. What's going on with legalization. Is it ever going to happen? Who knows?Regardless. We're going to talk about it. So for doing it for five minutes here, we've got a lot of reporting happening on Q1. Still some end of year reports coming out. But that being said, let's see, who is active today? Bright green corporation per new cannabis ventures may begin trading on the NASDAQ today under the ticker B G X, X.They are a plant touching. Company what? Yeah. So basically if you touch the plants in the United States, up until this point in time, you have not been able to list on a us exchange. If this happens, this is a pretty major movement. Why would this happen? You ask they are one of the few companies to receive conditional approval from the DEA to cultivate cannabis for research purposes, they work under federal license. They do not work under state licensing. So I guess they do meet federal requirements for their operations. They sell cannabis commercially for research and manufacturing purposes. They can also export internationally for cannabis research, as well as sell to DEA, registered pharmaceutical companies for medical cannabis products and preparations. This is a big move. If they start competing with the MSOE in terms of revenue, they start competing with a lot of these major operators and companies in terms of stock performance. This could, we could see a pretty interesting shift here in terms of power. That being said, that's a lot of spectrum.I don't see it happening anytime soon, if it does happen, but it is something to keep an eye on advanced flower, capital gamma, or AFC gamma. I think they have three names that being said AFCG is their ticker listed on the NASDAQ they report. But I'm not going to tell you how they. Tune in to cannabis insider today to Benzing his YouTube channel at four Eastern time, I interviewed their CEO Lynn Tanenbaum on the performance and he gave us a great rundown. So tune into that later today sin wellness holdings. 84 million in Q1 revenue. That is a 4% decline. Sequentially I'm sorry, 85 million at a 4% sequential decline. They were touched by some inflationary pressures as I think there were some estimates, not from them, but from analysts of around 86 million low farms reports, 12 and a half. And first quarter revenues. We did see that they had a cool partnership come out yesterday. So what schwas. So I would imagine Q2 will continue to help them trend in the right direction. Joshi, J U S H F on the OTC opens their 32nd dispensary nationwide and third in California. Love that Jewishy they don't consider themselves a big competitor in California yet.I'm speaking for them. They may disagree. But that being said, I think. They always look at value value, dispensary value, brick, and mortars. They look at places that will run them, a strong run rates across the year for each and every dispensary they open. So I trust them when they open a third dispensary in California, that this is going to be a great project for them.Truly, probably the report of the day, TC, N F on the OTC reports that record quarterly revenue of 318.3. Million dollars in the first quarter, this is up 64% year over year and 4% sequentially, 55% sequential improvement in net loss to around 32 weeks. Needham C's quarterly revenue, as better than expected.Steve full with the same feedback on a true leave and offers positive feedback that says truly bucked, recent reporting trends and sees positive sales and margins. So overall I think true leave with a very. Very positive first quarter to start 2022. One of your tier one, MSO is one of your top global players. They are the biggest footprint in the U S with around 162. I believe dispensary's they're massive. And analysts are enjoying their report today. Glass house farms, G L a S F on the OTC will be acquiring three dispensaries to move to 10 in their footprint in California run rate moves to around 200 million.Plus over the next 12 months, Chicago Atlantic, R E F I on the NASDAQ reports there at the end of Q1, they had 22 portfolio companies, $321 million of commitments and 281 and a half million were funded, both numbers to date of the commitments and funded amount have increased. I believe the commitments increased by about 16 funded by.26. Overall their net income for the quarter was just under 8 million. So a Chicago Atlantic they are moving quickly and aggressively and compared to some of the other numbers, those are pretty large when it comes to lenders. So that is other lenders, I should say. Flora growth, Corp FLDC on the NASDAQ launches, the vessel brands and cans.Which will start in Ontario vessel is an accessory brand. And in my opinion, that acquisition of vessel really started this snowball effect of aggressive news flow of aggressive expansion. And I think expanding vessel and still staying true to that brand is important for what floor growth is.Heritage cannabis, Hert F on the OTC revenues up, I believe 450% year over year to seven, over 7 million. Pretty impressive from them. They have comparable numbers to the likes of a floor growth. Currently that's being said, this is Elliot lay man. Who's a winner today. I would say this. If BG XX hits NASDAQ today.Got to check them out, got to see what's happening there and how investors react, who knows they may not get positive reactions just because of where the market is right now. But if anybody wasn't going to get a positive. Welcome to the market. I'd have to say it's them. So they're going to be a winner. If they're listed, that's a big F otherwise TC in an F is a winner. I'm going to say juicy is a winner, and I am going to say recently, It's a winner. So keep an eye on them. As we move through the day that being said, we'll do this one more time tomorrow. This is Elliot lane, your host of cannabis daily. Let's dive into some news today, a bit of a slower morning, not. Obviously a ton of news the past couple of weeks with earnings, I think companies are taking a breather. They should be some of them specifically but let's dive into some news foliage. Not a public company, but is now the largest exporter of cannabis from Columbia to Australia. And I believe makes them one of, if not the largest exporter of cannabis to Australia from south America, new cannabis ventures comes out with a very interesting piece on their global cannabis index. This is new cannabis ventures.com.If you want to check out the article as a whole. But overall over the last two weeks, the index has raised and lifted 22% leaving the overall yearly results. So far down about 9.2%. So the past two weeks have been pretty darn good comparatively to the last year. Plus for cannabis stocks, challenges for cannabis stocks recently have included a sharp slowdown in sales in January.According to several major operators in this industry and multi-state operators and their executives. This is going to be common. You're going to see waves and fluctuations in cannabis sales in January. We'll forward. And always be apparently a down month, given most people will slow down their buying after the new year and after the holidays other challenges include inflation, which we are all familiar with the interest rates to counter inflation, which we were all familiar with, supply chain, disruption and tons of other things that are affecting all industries. But cannabis is a newer industry. So this is something that is probably affecting them just to tap. NCV also believes the markets are not giving enough credit to those companies. With strong balance sheets. Many investors will look at enterprise value for their investments. Enterprise value is the market cap of a company, plus the debt position minus the cash.So debt-free companies are obviously the most. With their enterprise valuables values being under their market cap. When you look at those companies that are succeeding at this, it's a lot of anciliary companies including grow generation urban grow and Weedmaps respectively, their tickers gr WG UGR O and M a P S I believe all on the NASDAQplanet 13 is the best operator when considering those with no to minimal debt for MSOE as they are outspoken, apparently in their distance. For depth, the best LPs and licensed producers in the Canadian side of life, our organic gram and Cronos group. So overall a really nice breakdown from new cannabis ventures.I recommend everybody check it out. We'll probably send. Or cover their coverage on benzinga.com/cannabis today as well. But a really nice report, I think on where this industry could go in and there are some reasons to be optimistic and Alan Braxton who heads up new cannabis ventures will call out the the shakiness of the industry before. So you got to give him props for that. So this is a nice optimistic piece here. Michigan sends $150 million in marijuana taxes to cities, schools, and transportation funds. Officials also approve the first social consumption sites. I believe set up by true city. In the state. Several good things happening in that state.I still believe the fourth or fifth largest cannabis market in the U S New Mexico cannabis regulators are recalling products from the sacred garden operation station because of mold being found in the products. I believe there were calling all products by sacred garden. So overall not a great look, but this is a. In cannabis right now with several we, it happened in Pennsylvania. I believe it happened in Canada. Overall mold is becoming a word that I'm hearing more of and I wish I wasn't. So let's keep an eye on this. Ideally, we are going to be seeing less of this. As we move forward into a regulated space.Matt Hawkins was on Yahoo finance last week and believes cannabis legislation is being used as a political pond. No surprise there. He believes the legislative moves last week are an attempt to appease those looking for cannabis movement until Schumer releases his C a O a bill in April, which is just out of my sheer knowledge. And speaking to those in cannabis is not a great bill to move forward with for the current structure of the industry. So we'll see how my. Backing that gets last, but not least New Jersey. Their governor assures us that the launch of cannabis sales is only a few weeks away. This coming after pretty massive amounts of backlash last week after delaying it.Once again, this is Elliot lane for cannabis. A mix of good and bad news today, as always, it seems, but overall Michigan moving in the right direction, New Mexico, trying to shore up some crappy products and get those to being quality products. New Jersey hopefully will be online soon. And the global cannabis sector seems to be moving in the right direction. If I'm looking at winners for the day, I check out a few of those ancillary stocks that Alan Broxton called out, grow generation urban. And Weedmaps thanks for always listening you all and review as BZ cannabis.com to check out our April, 2022 cannabis capital conference, we will have Nancy mace.We will have Mike Tyson we'll have most, every major operator in the industry will be joining us. Benzinga.com/podcasts, wherever you want to find us. This is your daily dose of cannabis, news, and insights on what's going on and where you can put your money to hopefully make some more money. All right. Let's dive right in tons of news today. We haven't really seen much news this week and then all of a sudden, everybody goes, yeah. Thursday St. Patrick's day let's drop it. Also happy St. Patrick's day. Everybody hope you're wearing green today. Jewishy J U S H F on the OTC completes an acquisition of loss of a Las Vegas dispensary. This establishes their fourth state with vertical integration. They also have another Nevada based acquisition of NewLeaf, which is expected to close in early. Uh, in the early parts of the second quarter of this year, as it continued to grow strategically in the state juicy one of the fastest growing MSOE steer, still I think a, a solid tier two, um, option there, but obviously a ton of room for growth, a ton of potential. And I love their executive team. So keep an eye on J U S. AF valance V L N S reports 3.1% total market share in the Canadian cannabis market. I don't care what market you're in. 3.1% is respectable. November, 2021 market share. It was two and a half percent. So obviously moving in the right direction there.Um, some more product centric rankings they're ranked fourth in the beverage market with 11.2% very strong there they ranked ninth in flour with three and a half percent. Eighth in edibles with 3.2%. So Valens, I think starting to get some positive momentum here, uh, very excited for the direction they are taking organic gram OGI on the NASDAQ, joins the pledge 1% movement.Organic gram will be pledging 1% of their employees, time to local volunteer programs, part of the overall organic gram operating for good social impact strategy. I love the focus on giving back to the community, I think incredibly necessary. And I think younger investors especially want to see ESG and social impact initiatives. From companies nowadays, it is interesting to me, I'm curious if the employees are being paid for this 1% or, or what's going on, but overall, those are minor details, I think to what is a positive, uh, Air wellness, Ayr, WF announces Q4 and fiscal year 2021 results. Uh, their fourth quarter revenue was $111.8 million. That's in three months, which is up 16% sequentially from Q3. Q4 adjusted EBITDA was 26.1 million. And for the entire year of 2021, They brought in 357 and a half million dollars in revenue, 98 million in adjusted EBITDA. This is where it gets interesting for me. They added 62 dispensary's eight cultivation facilities and 1600 employees in the year of 2021.They were massively aggressive in their roll-up strategy. I think very different from a lot of other MSOC. Um, but I think they are. Absolutely competitive and they have 2022 initiatives that should start bringing in more revenue and increasing their run rate. So overall, I think this is a ma a very positive release from.Um, we will also be speaking to John Sandeman CEO of air wellness today at four o'clock Eastern time on cannabis insider about their positive earnings report per marijuana moment. Marijuana legalization has not led to more youth consumption. This report comes from alcohol and tobacco back, uh, group.Cresco labs, C R L B. LBF expands their brand portfolio to Florida. They are the number one wholesaler of cannabis in the U S they are also launching a Florida specific edibles brand. I am so happy to see Cresco labs here. Y'all we do not talk about them nearly enough. They are a tier one operator, and I feel like they give me a little bit of news once a quarter. So with that being said, happy to see Cresco labs, making some moves here. They're obviously big in the B2B space. Um, but we do want to see, uh, I think more news flow as a whole, um, as they continue to compete in a very, what is currently a saturated market item, nine labs, I N L B on the OTC acquiring the herbal cure in Denver, Colorado. This includes a cultivation license and it fuels market expansion for their unity. Cannabis brand. We talked about franchising a little bit. I think earlier this week, they are a big one in that space. Verano V R N O F on the OTC and other tier one multi-state operator is opening their first West Virginia Zen leaf dispensary.Tilray T L R Y on the NASDAQ. I'm sure you guys know that by now, Piper Stanler remains neutral on this. Um, but did lower their price target to $6. Another note coming today's saying Tilray is not a buy until they can prove sustainability. I, I P R BTIG keeps a buy rating and Cantor Fitzgerald maintains an overweight rating on T R S S F and raises the price target on Jason Wilde's company to $7 and 90 cents.Last, but not least on company news, new, late capital partners in LCP on the OTC. A great real estate investment trust in the cannabis space. Announces $9 million of revenue for Q4 up 12% sequentially and a hundred and twenty twenty two. 122%, uh, from 2020, uh, their fiscal year of 2021 brought in $28.2 million in revenue, which is at 142%.You're over a year last but not least. We are announcing two major speakers. Uh, in addition to the already amazing agenda we had in Miami, April 20th and 20 first@thefountainbluebzcannabis.com. Mike Tyson will be joining our lineup. You gotta be there. Y'all use the code Elliott. I'm sorry, lane. I forgot which part of my name was in the code.L a N E three zero. Use the code lane 30. You'll get 30% off your tickets. How are you today? I hope it's well on this terrific Tuesday, this is Elliot lane, host of cannabis daily, as always accompanied by the marvelous Aaron Thomas, who produces the show and Benzinga for the platform. Thanks as always just to give you a little introduction for those that may be introduced to this for the first time, we are a cannabis investing news show focused on the cannabis industry. We do touch on cannabis stocks, but also cannabis news. Hopefully this helps your day ahead. If you're looking at cannabis companies to. In let's dive right in jive or dive both Tilray T L R Y on the NASDAQ expands their medical cannabis product portfolio in Australia. They do this with a 15 gram medical cannabis, whole flour product.Subsequently. They also have launched an online medical cannabis education platform for healthcare professionals in Australia and New Zealand. Are they offering more resources and more products to be consumed, also increasing their bottom line. They also are. Providing more resources for doctors to prescribe their products and get more of their products to the patients directly. So props and absolute well done until Ray on that front, a incredibly smart way to attack that market are those markets in Australia. Balance company V L N S on the NASDAQ launches, two new products, one value, and one ultra-premium. The expansion of the product portfolio is part of a multi-step plan to lift balance to being one of the top performers in the Canadian adult rec market.Obviously every Canadian adult rec company wants to be the top performer in the market, but balanced, continually making steps and has been pretty aggressive with their news flow of late. So I would definitely keep an eye on the L N. Interesting north American study from a lab stat international and the blink group lab stat is a third-party cannabis testing company. And blink group is a leading manufacturer of anciliary vape products been around forever. They worked on a study entitled. Puffing regimes found that cannabis consumption through vape devices is vastly different than nicotine and varies vastly across borders from country to country. And I would imagine state to state province to province more than 2000 adult use cannabis users across north America participated in the study.Colorado meets their goal of 16.8% of cannabis businesses being minority owned. That's awesome. I believe they hit 17% to be precise. That being said, the data shows there is ways to go before cannabis business ownership is on par with the state's population demographics. However, it is good to see that moving in the right direction as social actors. He's not always moving in the right direction in an emerging market in general. So now to the more explosive news of the day, if you have not been following the med men and a sin wellness story madness. Is looking to quote unquote wriggle out of their deal that were taken directly from the New York post article. We'll touch on shortly from an, a transaction definitive agreement with us and wellness to sell their New York assets to them. Med men files a counterfeit. Against a sin wellness who filed a suit, of course accusing them of political influencing med men or in F on the OTC claims, ascend wellness, CEO, Abner curtain used political influence with New York governor Kathy and was shortly after able to obtain the email in favor of a sin.So New York post publishes the story claiming coach will push for the $75 million sale of Madmen New York assets to ascend to help them because they are a campaign donor days before Madmen was set to here we go. Quote, unquote, wriggle out of the deal and days after a attended a fundraiser for hotel, I believe that was a sense, president Andrew Brown. So the story is getting jucier in juicy area. I do think Madmen wants out of the deal because given the government. Progress of moving cannabis, legalization forward and recreational use forward madman's assets are more, should be worth more than the transactional deal that they agreed to. With ascend, that being said, there is a definitive agreement in place on a sense side.So is this lobbying or is it political? Temporary? That question, we will pose to you all and not get too political here, but that being said, we will keep an eye on this for you with two major OTC listed MSOE in F N a w H New York doctors can now recommend medical marijuana to all patients who can benefit from it per the New York office of cannabis management or the OCM.When I think of this, I definitely think. Sites to companies like med men but more so to companies like Columbia care, CCH, WF, and New York doctors can now recommend medical marijuana to all patients who can benefit from it per the New York office of cannabis management MTR SSF. As in that tri-state area, those companies are going to benefit first and foremost, this is Elliot lane with cannabis daily. Hope. It is your second hump day. I was about to say your first, but that just means that someday welcome to Wednesday. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily. Thanks for tuning in and as always thanks to our producer, Aaron Thomas for making the show happen and Benzinga. For letting us host this platform. This show gives you your daily cannabis insights and news into investing in cannabis stocks. So let's dive right in first and foremost, we're going to chat about the overall industry B D S a major data company releases a report on the year ahead And cannabis. This is directly from this report. Us legal cannabis market reached circa 25 billion by the end of 2021 40% increase year over year. This is driven by mature state markets, seeing more growth, the development of new and active state cannabis markets. So the mature state markets being your California is your Colorado's Oregon. So on and so forth. The new inactive state markets being Michigan, Illinois. Some of the stronger Midwestern states there, as well as emerging states with recent or coming legalization, thinking more along the lines of your New York and states of that nature that have been in the. BDSA predicts the growth of brand recognition and perhaps brand loyalty.Along with that quality cues will drive bigger price differentiation. That's interesting, and the FDA will not help out CBD this year. Unfortunately, and vaping will still be a strong branch and or arm of consumption. For cannabis, so things to keep an eye on per BDSA their year ahead report. Next up we have Tilray in the news several times yesterday, but first and foremost, I would not be doing my team service if I didn't call out a fantastic interview that my colleagues, Patrick Lane and Javier Haas had with Erwin Simon, the CEO of Tilray brands yesterday on our YouTube channel. You can find that on Benzing a YouTube fantastic interview until Tilray earnings. However, TLR Y on the NASDAQ and AB InBev or B U E B U D a as their ticker is call off their partnership from 2018. Each company was to invest around 50 million, $50 million. Fluent beverage company with 50% interest, each seems like a AB InBev got a little bit better of the call-off deal.I think they're keeping the equipment, but overall, I don't think a huge loss for till racing is how they've expanded their portfolio. And speaking of Tilray acquires two more California craft beer brands for $5.1 million. I think that's around six and a half million Canadian dollars. Is seemingly looking to become a.A strong beer provider themselves. And obviously this will lead to THC consumption beverage products in the future, but for now they are moving and shaking that industry Leafly and Meredith merger Corp announced a $30 million convertible. Financing new capital will fully fund Leafly is multi-year business plan upon closing Merredin merger Corp is NASDAQ listed MC MJ.The notes will bear about an 8% interest per year. The convertible notes for the financing are due by 2025. Leafly per their press release helps about 125 million visitors discover cannabis per year. That is. Huge number. This is a huge opportunity. And the fact that 30 million is going to cover what they need to cover is decently impressive.Given the financings we've seen recently in cannabis, Michigan cannabis sales finished 2021 with strong December up 10% sequentially and 66% year over year to $168 million. The interesting thing about Michigan though, as they separate medical and recreational sales, medical sales, actually. By 17% year over year, recreational sales were up by 119% year over year.So obviously putting some focus there for the companies in Michigan thinking gage and or Tara said and several big private operators and there are some other MSOE in the state with smaller footprints, can source them and Greenlane G and L N receives approval from U S P S to send a B2B designated vape products through the mail. This is super interesting as I, I do remember this being a point of contention recently with vape products going through the mail but G and Ellen announces the approval. Recently cannabis action in Greece, y'all Kaia holdings, or K a Y S on the OTC announced they're majority owned subsidiary. Kaia farms.Greece has entered into an agreement to acquire 50% of a medical cannabis. Project. So more movement in Greece, more movement internationally. There was also an article that you'll be able to find on Benzing. I believe that discusses the importance of cannabis for the future of that continence economy.Super, super interesting. To get more news like that on benzinga.com/cannabis. One thing I do want to call out are some movers from yesterday. Up on the day, includes canopy growth, village farms, Neptune wellness terrace, and grow generation Hexo Oxley group. But in my opinion, one of the biggest winners was green lane.Their shares closed up yesterday, almost 13%. So keep an eye on them throughout the day. I think the U S P S news is bigger than it's getting credit for at the moment down for the day. The green, organic Dutchman. They closed down about 3.2, 5%. But they have had a good run lately, so that doesn't make me super worried about the stock itself.Thanks. Y'all for tuning in on this fine Wednesday. I hope you all are getting ready for a very successful day of investing. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily rate and review us, let us know what you think. We will do this again two more times this week, so you can.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/cannabis-daily/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

It is feel good Friday, first, Friday of the year, right? Yes. Yes. First Friday of the year, this is. Cannabis daily hope y'all are having a great first week of 2022 so far. Thanks to Aaron Thomas, our producer for the show. Who'll be joining us in a few minutes to chat about some happenings in cannabis. This show is mainly brought to you for the purposes of investible cannabis news for the public markets and or those companies that you can take part in. I hope this show gets you started off right for your day of trading and investing and or long-term investing.Cause that's what most cannabis investors. Yeah. At the moment, but let's dive right in not going a long diatribe about the performance of cannabis stocks in 2021, truly TC in and F on the OTC markets. Their dispensary's combined with their acquired harvest. Dispensary's did a Roundup at the register campaign.$87,000 to donate to disabled American veterans. That's dav.org. And I must say this because Kentucky has been in the news, they are of course, located in Kentucky. However, of course it doesn't really mean. But that being said, it's nice to see partnerships that extend in the cannabis industry to states that actually have not even legalized yet. So something to call out there and also a big shout out to truly as I love calling out news like this next up, we have another major MSO multi-state operator in the U S cannabis industry, air wellness, Ayr WF. Also on the OTC provides a stock repurchase update. The company has repurchased. Around 568,000 subordinate voting shares for a total of $11 million Canadian. So obviously good news for air wellness, shareholders, Columbia care CCW H or CC HWF can also on the OTC convinces a solicit solicitation of consents from shareholders of its debt from 2020 to consider amendments to the. In denture. Basically what they're trying to do here is to significantly increase the company's borrowing capacity to support growth initiatives. Now, for those who are not investing in the cannabis space yet a big hesitation is the debt that companies deal with in the public cannabis space, specifically MSOE, however, MSLs have been borrowing at lower rates recently. So that's good news, but that. If I'm going to trust debt with any leadership team in this space, Columbia care is probably going to be up there. I have huge faith in Nick Vita. I have a lot of faith in Jesse Channon. I think they are a very well run business. So this doesn't really make me nervous in that sense, per a current occurrence data. Corona is a leading anciliary company. Cannabis space, NASDAQ listed K E R N. They list their top five cannabis sales days of 2021.The first being of course, can you guess it? April 20th. That's for 20 20, 21. The next four concurrently our black Friday. Green Wednesday, which is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, then followed by that is the Thursday before Christmas. And the fifth highest sales day for cannabis is the Friday before labor day.Very interesting there, few more bits of news here, hydro farm reaffirmed their net sales and adjusted EBITDA outlook for financial year 2021. We'll probably be seeing those reports soon. I would imagine that. For around 470 to 490 million of net sales, which would take them up around 40% year over year adjusted EBITDA of around 47 to 53 million top Kansas Democrats unveil initiative to put medical and recreational marijuana on the ballot.A busy week for that as you're seeing politicians in Iowa and Rhode Island and Kentucky do the same at least with medical, if not both Bit of fun news for those that haven't legalized adult use yet states that have collected more than 10. Billion dollars in adult use tax revenue pro-marijuana moment. So huge news there, in my opinion, to more than the bits of news for the leading, or we'll say the highest volume cannabis stocks till rate TLR. Why on the NASDAQ Pablo's wanted show Cantor Fitzgerald, a leading analyst in the cannabis space. His 12 month price target to $7 and 40 cents previously $11 80 cents. But he did stay neutral on the stock. His main point we'll say of contention, but this is not, that's not his word, my word. But he pointed out the company 16% drop in recreational sales in the November quarter in the same period, the market grew 5%. So not a positive trend there for the company. Not overly worried. It's still re they're huge, but that. Got to keep up with the market in some sense. So it was Juan reflecting his thoughts in his 12 month price, target sundial, S N D L also on the NASDAQ opted to improve the consideration for Al Kana shareholders by including a cash component as well.So now Al Canada shareholders will receive $8, I'm sorry, 8.8, five common shares of sundial and $1 and 50 cents. Per Al Canada share. So again, that's around nine common shares of sundial, plus a dollar 50 for every out can a share for our Canada shareholders. So a sundial showing their love for their new ideally new branch of their business. With that being said, y'all, that's our start to the Friday for the stock news. With that being said, Aaron Thomas, get over here, man. You have some fun news to chat about as well. Happy. Happy new year Elliot. Yes, I do have some fun news and happy Friday to you guys out there and seeing your nation.Thank you for sticking with us into 2022. And we hope to keep it going for you guys. Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. Let's get going. Philadelphia joins the list of states that prohibit pre hire marijuana testing. So Philadelphia's prohibition on testing for marijuana as a condition for employment takes effect on January 1st or took effect on January.2022, the applicant may have the Kentucky Republican state Senate lead. Yeah, take that Kentucky. Hey, now watch it like Kentucky. I said the Kentucky Republican state Senate lead. That's what we're talking about. If we don't know what we're talking about, check out our previous episodes this week. Exactly.Just rewind in the week and you'll know exactly what Elliot meant. The aptly named ordinance requires that most employers rethink their preemployment cannabis screening policies and act swiftly to remove TAC from their testing panels in advance of the new year. So very interesting. I know. What was it earlier? We mentioned it last year, but I think New York was on that list planning to stop that pre hire marijuana testing and hoping that a lot of other states follow suit, because I think it's great for the industry that it also does mean that. Exempt from being tested for marijuana. Obviously there are cases where, you know, like post-employment random AR or random use cases or random cases for marijuana testing always will apply. So be careful out there just be smart. Y'all be a research. Exactly. Exactly. All right, moving on. So guys, you might find this very interesting. Where is. Cheapest and most expensive let's pay attention to this one. Yes. Yes. Retail prices vary widely across the medical markets with Virginia boasting doubled the levels found in Connecticut in a recent analyst note, Cantor Fitzgerald, Cantor, Fitzgerald analyst, Pablo.Pablo Zuanich reviewed the retail price differences in cannabis flowers across 14 states, six with six, with recreational and medical sales and eight. With medical only sales. The range from lowest to highest was as follows. Connecticut was at 9 75, so $9 and 75 cents a gram with whole flower taking 3.5 gram.Florida was next at $11 and 97 cents. New York at $13 and 70 cents, Ohio and Maryland around that range at $13 and 83 and $13 and 89. New Jersey, Pennsylvania following up with 1495 and 1562 and the most expensive state. What do you think it is? Elliott Kelly? No problem. No, no one more guy. So I'll give you one more.Or no. It's actually on the east coast, Virginia eight. Oh, wait, you already said that. Yeah, Virginia $18 and 60 cents per gram is the average there. Dang dude. So wait, did you mentioned California and Oregon? No, they I didn't think so. That's slightly surprising to me. I will not be moving to Virginia anytime soon. But I am in New York. So I'll take the third cheapest state of marijuana, which is incredibly surprising to me. I've that being said I live near Connecticut and we're going to Miami, Florida in April. So I'll take the three cheapest states in my first four months, we will. All right. All right. So guys, if you obviously live in one of those states check out the prices and let us know if obviously you've seen cheaper or more expensive marijuana, let us know. Alright, man, what else? One more for us RAs. One to wrap up the day. So Gary V announces inaugural greens. Cannabis festival complete with hip hop and culinary stars. The event will feature Los Angeles is top culinary destinations, internationally recognized music performances, and top performing cannabis brands from the entire state of Kansas. The first day of the festival will be a VIP event at the green street building a 67,000 square foot cannabis building epicenter or a cannabis business epicenter in downtown LA and feature a once in a lifetime performance with Harry Mack and Gary V people either want to be educated or entertained. We are going to do both says Gary V so very interesting I think it's. Great a event for the culture a lot of education and a lot of cool elements for entertainment that are going to be happening. And they said culinary stars are going to be there and who doesn't love food, marijuana and food, one of the greatest combinations ever. Yeah. And here's what I'll say to that though. I think big names getting into cannabis, I think is a positive, right? I think it brings legitimacy to it. I've said that before. I think celebrity brands there's a lot. You know if he needs to those sometimes, but with that being said cool.I will. I think, honestly, I'd love to go to this event myself. I'm gonna see if Benzinga will send us and maybe we'll see you all there. That being said. I'm interested to see what type of education they start to market against. And the only reason I say that is when you do a single state of California brands, you're going to get a very stilted opinion on the cannabis industry. That could be very different from what in Virginia, in New York and New Jersey and Pennsylvania and Ohio. So when you just have California brands and California companies, I don't think that's the full scope of the cannabis industry. So for me, I'm very interested in attending by all means this could be an amazing event. All I'm saying is education-wise, I'm curious how they present the cannabis industry. Yeah. I'd love to see that. Yeah. Awesome. Aaron, good bits of news today, my friend, again, happy new year pumped to be back y'all. We are growing like a weed. Tell your friends about cannabis daily. Happy Monday. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily. Thanks to Benzinga and Aaron Thomas for helping set this bad boy up. Hope you all had a great weekend on are ready for an exciting week in cannabis trading and investing, I should say, uh, let's dive right in ton of things to chat about today.Uh, let's start with, uh, BTIG analyst. Uh, Camilla lion says JP Morgan, maybe rescinding their news last week after catching investors off guard, that would be absolutely huge. Uh, it was a catalyst for some selling, uh, from kind of the gyms of the industry, like GTB IVF, uh, but outside of that, this season, Like it may be reversed according to BTIG.So keep an eye on that. I don't think something to trade on at the moment, but definitely something that to keep an eye on M S O S that is an ETF buy advisor shares. Uh, focus on USMS owes saw a pretty massive boost in volume in the last hour of trading on. Thought to be caused by the news of a Republican bill, which we will touch on momentarily.Uh, but that is, uh, not slowing down. If you take a look at MSOE today, the, the act, the act action in the stock right now is, is pretty green, not a lot of red at the moment. So, uh, keep an eye on that. I think honestly, it may be something to get involved in, but, you know, do your own research, uh, check. Uh, that stock today, Ms.S um, all right, let's keep it going to the Republican bill. So this to me is the news of the weekend, what everybody was talking about on Twitter and, and vice versa. But, uh, Republican freshmen lawmaker, uh, came out with. Uh, a new bill that honestly does a lot of things that a democratic bill would, uh, if they would ever do anything about it, but this bill would federally the schedule, uh, and treat marijuana in the same manner as.It would be a 3.7% excise tax to be imposed on cannabis sales. It would be, um, uh, overseen by the treasury departments, alcohol and tobacco tax and trade bureau. Uh, it would, uh, provide people with certain federal cannabis convictions that were non-violent. Eligible for expungement, uh, to prevent youth use, they would be mandatory 21 age limit for recreational cannabis.Uh, federal agencies could continue to drug test for marijuana, which is kind of the one major negative I see here, um, which is a little weird to me. Um, but it would also stipulate that veterans can't face discrimination in federal hiring, due to cannabis use, uh, so on and so forth, you know, quite a bit more to the bill as well, but overall.I think a very positive built, uh, and what should have been an easy one. For Democrats, uh, was pretty much handed to Republicans, uh, in this manner. Uh, and, uh, I think the Republicans politically are trying to take control of the narrative before midterms, but that being said, if they get something done, the cannabis industry doesn't really care, uh, who it's done by.So this is this, uh, I think spurned the massive movement in MSOX and might continue into this morning. And today. Uh, so please do keep an eye on that. A conversation with representative Perlmutter by MJ biz a says he's confident, safe banking will pass by 2022 at the latest. So another bit of legislative news there.I would say if the Republican bill has any chance of passing, so to save. Surely see you RLF to buy Tri-C companies. T R Y K E for 286 million. They are a private Ms. Vertically integrated MSO. So clearly if we'll add cultivation processing and retail assets in Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, uh, first look to me, this seems like a large price point for what they're getting asset-wise, but Tri-C is a very successful.Margin company. Uh, and they're, they're looking at bringing in 110 million in 2021. So overall I think this adds up, uh, in Nevada, Arizona and Utah are all emerging, uh, states in the cannabis space, in the U S so, uh, overall I think this will probably be looked at positively from the. Uh, and it just expands an already pretty massive footprint for Cura leaf, Aurora cannabis ACB, looking to establish a footprint in the Netherlands as it takes a majority stake in one of 10 successful cannabis production, licensed applicants that is rotary B V.Um, they are, I believe the second one we've reported on here, uh, with the first being village farms that could be incorrect about the Northern European country. Uh, another major Canadian stock diving into that footprint of the world. Agrifoods HGF Y adds new partner in Massachusetts with Keefe USA.recently named one of, if not the leading anciliary stock in the space to me. Um, trophy, if you will, was held by a Corona, uh, has been held by grow generation. Uh, it's been held by many, but looks to be the fastest growing. And I think that's due to a lot of their M and a, I think we touched on last week, but precision extraction, uh, and a few others there. So, uh, exciting times, especially if you're involved in that stuff. Pablo from Cantor Fitzgerald, we all know Pablo. Um, he remains neutral on canopy growth. That's NASDAQ listed CGC and lowers their price target to Canadian $16 30 cents. Um, he lowered everybody's price target last week. So I don't really read too much into that.Um, but overall, it's something to keep an eye on heritage cannabis. That's OTC listed H E R T F announces a third consecutive quarter of record. Gross revenue company expects. Fourth quarter revenue to increase 20 to 25% above Q3. Uh, so they're obviously feeling strong at heritage cannabis. That's that's awesome.Uh, they they've made some big moves recently and I, I like, uh, the news that's been coming out, I would say over the past six months. So definitely want to put it on your watch list. If nothing else, last one, Veridian can Capitol chart of the week. Uh, it brings out some multiples graphics, Canadian LPs, still leading the charge when it comes to trade multiples.Uh, but I thought an interesting fact to mention here, tier two MSOC, uh, are having better multiples above tier one. So, uh, probably many reasons for that, but something just to point out right now, the growth of tier one MSO is obviously substantial compared to the other two categories. Um, so, and that's probably what we're seeing in SOS today. So this is Elliot lane with cannabis daily. Hope. This was a great start to your week of cannabis investing in cannabis news. We're going to be doing this every day and we'll cap it off every week on Friday with a lovely segment from our producer, Aaron Thomas, uh, until tomorrow y'all have.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/cannabis-daily/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

I hope you guys are having a great week. It made some money in the cannabis. Uh, this is Elliot lane with cannabis daily as always, thanks to bill Zynga and Aaron Thomas for all your help. We've got some fun news for y'all today. Let's start off right at the top. Uh, with really, I think the big news of the day is sundial S N D L acquires our Canada. The total for this acquisition comes to just under 350 million out. Canada is Canada's largest liquor retailer, privately operating 171 locations. Under three different retail brands. Expansion into liquor will provide a better financial position and more cashflow for Sunday. Uh, as all alcohol, of course does, uh, in investment into Nova cannabis via this acquisition, which is a top five retail footprint in the cannabis space in Canada.I love this in every sense of the word, uh, sundial, uh, well done as much as I love the investments into Endiva, um, and the. Acquisitions they've made of late. I really think sundial has been the best performer of the meme stocks. Uh, and I mean that sincerely, um, next up, why CBD? This is CBD MD announces a research partnership with university of Mississippi are all miss.To identify novel cannabinoids. I see this a lot with CBD companies and it's why I wanted to call it out, you know, looking for that next opportunity, uh, for sales and to make money. Right. Ultimately, I think once, uh, marijuana is legalized, a lot of these CBD companies might be scrambling a bit or might be transitioning their business model. But why is CBD, uh, entering into a university partnership there, uh, to research potentially new cannabinoids in the plant, Columbia care that CCH WF announces opening of their first cannabis dispensary in Missouri. This is their ninth cannabis nationwide and the 75th store in their foot. Overall. So Columbia care trying to keep up, uh, with the likes of truly via that giant acquisition, of course, and curely, but 75 is nothing to shake your head at.I think they're along the lines with other fantastic MSOE, like Verano. Um, you know, obviously GTI up there as well. Uh, speaking of true leave though, they just announced their 93rd dispensary in the state of Florida with the reopening of a dispensary in Kissimmee that was formerly under there, the harvest house, uh, Veridian capital advisors initiate coverage on douchey that's J U S H F was a buy rating and a price target of $5 26.Since Jewishy, uh, they consider juicy and underrated and underestimated top MSO. They have a wonderful footprint and important markets like Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and they expect douchey to continue growing, uh, and, and expanding their footprint in those key markets to keep up with the other Ms.Sows. Uh, all right. So as we do on every Friday, my good friend, Aaron Thomas joins me for a little powwow on what's happening outside of stocks. Crazy industry. Aaron, how you doing today? My friends what's going on at Elliot and what's going on zinger nation happy Friday. Uh, yeah, back at it again to bring you some fun, uh, news or, you know, you know, however you take it some, some more news, right?Cultural side of the news for the cannabis industry, which I find always interesting. Um, so let's let let's, let's get started. Uh, so to start off a rep Garcia, a Republican from California tweets that LA county board of supervisors has delegated 5 million to LA sheriff department to support the eradication of illegal marijuana grows in their jurisdiction and surrounding areas.Again, that's $5 million to the LA sheriff. To support the eradication of illegal marijuana grows. Now I do kind of want to point out 5 million in the grand scheme of things is not very much. Um, like I, I believe like the caliph, the LA police department, I think their budget is in the bill. Um, but with that being said, the fact that they're delegating any type of respectable amount to the eradication of the black and gray markets, uh, is huge. It's awesome. I love that. I'm sure, you know, companies like wool farms and vibe, uh, co both great public companies out of California. Love that. So that touches on both sides of this. Yeah, absolutely. And once we moved to a more legal market, I think, you know, it's going to be great for the industry as a whole as well.Absolutely. So moving on, uh, more California, no more California news, uh, California, legalizes, smokable, hemp, and food sales in a recent. But they restrict slash ban the sale of Delta eight. So how do you feel about that? Uh, the Delta eight side doesn't surprise me. Uh, there's a lot of people on the CBD hemp side that think, uh, Delta eight is just as big of an addressable market as THC and I just completely disagree.Um, you know, I, I, I take this from a lot of different areas, but I'll go back to an interview I had with CV sciences, CEO, Joe Dowling on cannabis. Who thinks Delta eight is here for a little bit, uh, but will not survive the advancement of the, this industry. Um, there are too many good CPG companies, too many good, uh, THC focused marijuana companies. And there are other cannabinoids that will come to light by then as well. Uh, ultimately Delta aid, I think has an expiration date. Uh, so I think California has gone ahead and, uh, expedited that, um, doesn't surprise me at all. And ultimately I think hemp should be more industrial. Uh, you S I would say anyway.Um, but I, I'm sure a lot of people disagree with me on that, and that's totally fine. Um, but I think hemp has a wide variety of uses. It's a wonderful plant and definitely worth the investment. I just don't think Delta eight will be a part of that long. Yeah, a hundred percent. I agree with you there. Uh, hemp, it has very, hemp is very versatile. And, uh, also I think, um, with, with California legalizing it, uh, they're, you know, moving to a more sustainable market as well. So I think that's great for the. Absolutely my friend, wonderful times, uh, as always in the industry, it has been crazy. Everybody. I do want to make a quick announcement. Next week, October 14th and 15th, Benzinga returns to in-person action with our cannabis capital conference. This is our last one of 2021. Next one will be in Miami in March. So get your tickets for either virtual attendance or if you're in the New York area or want to make a quick trip. Uh, we'd love to have you there be Z. Dot com uh, you can meet me and Erin face-to-face and we'd love that love for that opportunity. That's an Aaron. Thanks so much, my friend, it's always a pleasure. Always a pleasure Elliot. Thank you. I hope you are having a great morning. You've had a great week trading and I hope you are on the truly train because it is leaving the station. The deal is done. Y'all TC, N N F completes the acquisition of harvest health. H R V S F. This. Creates the largest us cannabis company across retail and cultivation, footprints, and some pretty major depth in key markets that truly did not reach before, such as Arizona solidifies.True leave. As the most profitable MSO in the combined company delivers the strongest financial. Of any MSO, absolute congratulations to Kim rivers and team over at true leave and the Steve white and team over at harvest health. This is major and I'm super pumped to see how this company continues to control its own fate.Uh, more on. And, and down the road, I'm sure we'll be talking about truly, just as much as we have been. Uh, I love this for Kim and team. I'm super excited. Rapid dose therapeutics that his doc on the CSC receives their cannabis sales license from health Canada. Okay. A little more, uh, re real estate focus news here.As of today, I, I P R that's innovative industrial properties. The only REIT that is cannabis focused on the night. Owns 75 properties in bear with me, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.Uh, it's funny. They released a press release and it's more than. Just reminding everybody how dominant they truly are. I, I PR coming out with a little flecks of their own today, uh, Cresco labs, C B LBF decides to exit several third-party distribution agreements to focus more on distribution of their wholly owned brands and increase their profitability profitability in California. So Cresco labs, continuing to strengthen their bottom line. They are the leading whole. Uh, company in the cannabis space, in the U S uh, looking to increase their brand awareness. Planet 13 that's PLN NHF completes the acquisition of Florida licensed for 55 million to operate it as a medical marijuana treatment center.Friends. We all know that this will not stay a medical marijuana treatment center, uh, until, I mean, as long as Florida is medicinally focused, it will. Uh, but once it does go adult use and. Uh, I would imagine this will shift toward more of their Vegas approach bank of America, securities downgrade, CGC to neutral lowers the price target to $22 Canadian. However, an interesting article on benzinga.com/cannabis. Looking at the canopy chart, they may have finally hit the bottom and could see a reversal. As many cannabis companies can not catch a break. Uh, it continues to not hit a lower, low below the 1335 level, which indicates the downward trend might be over.Now. It is Friday and I'm always excited to bring on my good friend, Aaron Thomas, to talk a little bit more about the cannabis industry as a whole and the cannabis culture as a whole. How are you doing, man? How was your week? I am doing well. What's up Elliot? What's up singer nation. Uh, happy Friday. Yeah, like I said, it's been quite the week guys, if you haven't, if you didn't know, I've been quite busy, uh, producing Benzinga healthcare conference, it was a two day event. Two tracks. Filled with a bunch of healthcare companies presenting, uh, you know, their company case, their slide decks telling us why they're a good investment option. So if you haven't seen that, check it out on Benzingers YouTube, go over there and check that out. Um, so with some news, let's get into it.Uh, let's start it off with some kind of fun news, you know, so dogs, uh, in California,Are the dogs in California. Aaron, are we sure? Hold on. I, so I might have a athlete. Just cut this out. Wait, what? I'm going to have Ashley cut this out four minutes. I kinda messed up. I'm sorry, but why don't you just intro yourself again? Okay. Yeah, we'll cut. We'll cut you out until, uh, you intro yourself again. So Aaron, what's up from that point and then whenever you start again. Yeah. Cause we can leave in the, uh, cannabis or the healthcare conference stuff and then we can go from there. Cool. Yeah. Whenever that, whatever you need. All right, here we go. All right. Let's get into some cultural news to start it off.Dogs are increasingly getting. From cannabis edibles. It, I know it's crazy. So while the excess cannabis consumption by canines is not new cases are growing as more and more states legalize the drug and it, you and you and its use, sorry, becomes more widespread. According to the American society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, the groups poison hotline suggest that more and more states have legalized directly or recreational marijuana reports of marijuana toxicity in dogs have.Grown interesting guys. So basically just lock up your lockup, your edibles, you know, make sure your marijuana is in a safe location because obviously we don't want our little guys to, you know, be in any health issue or have any health issues or any what? I mean I'm, I'm so curious. Did it go from one to three?Or like one to like 300 I'm I'm so curious. It's like, you know, I don't think edibles are just lying on the sidewalk cause people like edibles and not just going to leave white around here's the numbers. So between 2017 and 2020, the national call volume for cannabis ingestion rose from 1,436 to 3,923.All right. It also sounds like people are feeding their dogs animals. So y'all, don't do that. Let's, let's stay away from that for sure. Moving on in moreover in some, uh, federal cannabis news, uh, federal cannabis, cannabis legalization, bill approved income. So the house judiciary committee approved a bill to federally legalized marijuana. It's not yet clear if other panels will waive jurisdiction like they did last Congress, or if it has more steps to go before reaching the floor this time. Uh, we will see, I mean, whenever I hear the words, federal legalization, I mean, I think this is the second time in this, not this year, but in the past year, um, you know, I'm, I'm encouraged that we continue to see the fight for this.Um, we'll see it, but I, I think what Chuck Schumer, what Corey Booker want, uh, is a social equity bill is a. Um, a decriminalization bill is a bill to get people out of jail for non-violent, um, acts when it comes to marijuana. Um, until, I mean, ideally something like the Federalist federalisation bill would, um, federal legalization bill would include that, but we'll see if it gets passed.I don't know. I, my, my hope is tempered, but it is still. Definitely. So Schumer also said that he's had a few conversations with the white house about marijuana and that he plans to lobby president Biden heavily to drop his anti legalization stance. So we'll see, we'll see, we'll keep up with the developments there.Uh, see what's going on. Obviously we're hoping for the best here, because it would be great for the next. Yeah. So it would, uh, you know, it's interesting though, MSOE is, are fine. You know, they're, they're absolutely fine with delayed legalization, uh, so that they can continue to roll up and produce more M and a news, uh, and get more brands under their belts. The more they can roll up right now, the better for them once legalization hits. Uh, cause then there'll be able to be able to compete with large tobacco, large alcohol. Uh, other large CPG players, uh, who will come into the space. So MSLs are in no rush for federal legalization, even if they are outwardly.Right. All right. And with my last bit of some cultural news, uh, this one, I'm sure you guys will see it eventually as it'll probably reach your airwaves at some point, but $10 million of cash. 500,000 marijuana plants seized in bay. Area's largest. Bust. So in San Leandro, California, Alameda county Sheriff's detectives say an 18 month investigation has resulted in the seizure of upwards of $10 million in cash.Up to 500,000 marijuana plants, six tons of processed marijuana valued at $42 million and a cache of weapons. The bus marks the largest ever illegal growing operation in the bay area and among the largest ever in this. Sergeant Kelly said the cultivation operation was a sophisticated and the Sheriff's office says the marijuana quality was the best they have her seat. So, I mean, Hey well, if a sheriff says that it must be true. Exactly. But I will say that's a great, great, great news for the legal marijuana scene. You know, I think. Uh, earlier this year, we saw a billion dollar bust, uh, in terms of, uh, 9 billion, sorry, um, a several hundred million dollar bust for cannabis in the black market, but more busts like this create less of a black and gray market for the legal cannabis industry, which creates more opportunity. For the legal cannabis industry. So that's awesome. And I love that the Sheriff's office came out and said that this is high quality, illegal cannabis. That's fantastic. Yeah. I mean, if anything, if I was going to get, you know, rated by the Sheriff's office and they told me my marijuana was terrible. Yeah. I, I would be like, yeah, you can go ahead and take it.Nah, maybe that's how they need to do to bust illegal cannabis grows. But that's hysterical. Aaron great stuff today, man. I mean a lot of legalization news will continue to monitor that as we, as we move towards Q4 here or what is Q4 happy to for y'all? Um, I forgot it was October for a second, but. Thanks as always for listening to us another great week of cannabis daily. We had some killer news today. Congrats again, to truly even harvest health for completing their acquisition. Hope you all had a wonderful Monday and are having an even better Tuesday so far as always. Thanks to Benzinga and the producer here, Aaron Thomas. He is the man a little lighter news morning than yesterday, but definitely some items to touch on.Let's get started, Florida activists file another bill to legalize adult use. I think they do this once every other month, uh, to no avail. Uh, I'll have hope when it makes it through, but it definitely would be a huge bit of news for those such as TCN and F truly air wellness, Ayr, WF consortium, that's C and T M F a.So keep an eye on that news. If it does legalize opens up opportunity for those that are already, uh, have a monstrous footprint there, Gary Santo, he is the head man, the head hunter. Over at tilt. That is T L L T F tweets about 30 minutes ago. Uh, that they're opening a second to dispensary in Massachusetts, soft opening October 1st, grand opening, October 16th.Exciting news for Gary. They've been a bit quiet lately, but, uh, overall love tale, love what they do. They work with everybody massive player in this industry. And I think setting themselves up to be a long time. A staple of the cannabis space. So keep an eye on T L L T F a in all the conversations we have here, as they work with MSOE in a wholesale capacity, uh, they have, uh, uh, Jupiter, uh, they have tons of ways they can work with people, including medical cannabis, S TMH that's driven by stem or stem holdings acquired artifact extracts yesterday, an extractor in Oregon, known for its award-winning concentrates, along with two dispensers. Now Oregon is nothing to write home about when you expand into Oregon, just due to how much opportunity there is to be an Oregon. Uh, but it is important for stem to expand further into the west coast. Uh, they are a big old brand portfolio, but I believe they are farm to table vertically integrated. Uh, I love their acquisition of driven deliveries a while ago, and I think they'll be around for a little bit, but, uh, stem is one of those where they, they could be an M and a target, or they could continue to grow organically.A little bit of an underdog in this industry right now until they, uh, start duking it out with the tier one operators, a little down the line per new cannabis ventures, three anciliary stock showing good entry points at a Scott's miracle grow, uh, and their investment arm Hawthorne, uh, grow generation and hydro farm.Uh, so keep an eye on the anciliary plays in this industry. I think that also holds over to. K E R N urban gro UGR oh, perhaps Leafly, uh, when they do spec, but overall, the anciliary site has always been important to the cannabis capital markets. Connecticut patients can grow their own marijuana, medical, marijuana, excuse me, medical marijuana, starting October 1st, I check out a new Tilray article T L R.Uh, on benzinga.com/cannabis needs to hold above a key resistance level. This is very important for their stock. Uh, this is an incredible article by Javier and his team. So please head over there to check that out. I, I P are the leading REIT, uh, in Canada. Uh, enters the Missouri market via 28 and a half million dollar deal with Calex peak.Count's peak is a very large private operator, private MSO in this space been very quiet this year. Uh, but this could be a very interesting entrance point there as Missouri has been a talking point recently with heritage. Uh, and the several others taking a extensive looks into that market last but not least after looking at a lot of charts this morning of the major stocks like CGC, like OGI like, FLDC like Yolo.Uh, like Hexo, uh, they have a very similar pattern, uh, with a small dip, a recover and a long depth, longer depth and a recovery yesterday or over the past two days. But really yesterday, uh, I'd love to see, uh, that continued to rise. Um, obviously I, I do believe it will fall a little bit upon opening, but, uh, hopefully we see that, uh, trending up today. And w I think overall it's a reflection upon the. And the sentiments on the market, which alas, as we all know, has little to do with the technicals of the cannabis space. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily, uh, bringing you stock news and picks in the cannabis industry every weekday morning as always.Thank you all for listening. Welcome back to a week of making money in the green that's cannabis stocks and news. This is Elliot lane with cannabis daily from Benzinga. Thanks as always to Aaron Thomas, our fearless producer, a lot of news this morning. Points to discuss first, let's start with the talk of the town. The safe act has a chance has a chance with the national defense act, uh, to be included. I believe it's a 1700 page act and nobody really wants to hold. So there is a chance that it gets through. Ironically, the biggest worry at the moment is Senator Schumer, uh, who is one of the biggest advocates for legalizing. So we'll see if it can make it through, uh, this would be huge, absolutely huge for the industry. If safe could make it through more transparency from the MSO level, less robberies, as there will be less cash around all of this, ideally leading to less cartel activity. Belt black market demand. I believe in California alone, the black and gray market is around a billion dollars leading to far more sales for those already in the space, uh, creates more opportunity for social equity financing.Uh, this is a huge step forward at this can get past it. Potentially necessitate the need for uplifting to us exchanges, uh, which would be a massive push forward and help cannabis stocks start to reflect their technicals and fundamentals. So, uh, something that I'm keeping an eye on it, there's nothing that you can do, but keep an eye on it.But, uh, this would be absolutely massive. Uh, larger MSOE are getting significant, less percentages on debt and loans. GTI 7% loan Verano, 9.7, 5% of sin, 9.5. Compare that and those two item nine labs, 16% can source them who is also fluent cannabis, 13%, several other examples of this, but, uh, the MSOE are, are definitely, uh, getting significantly, uh, better rates on debt right now.So something to keep an eye on, more for the tier three operators. And potentially tier two operators as we move forward. A bit of international news, Italy likely to hold a referendum to decriminalize cannabis. Next year. When I think of that, I think of till rape and they've canceled. I think of a flower cor uh, several of these international producers, maybe Alafia health gets involved.Uh, former Pennsylvania Republican representative joins the board of red, white, and bloom. That's RWB YF and air wellness opens up a new dispensary in west Pensacola, Florida, uh, that has Ayr WF making 41 stores in the state. Putting up a nice fight with true leave, but truly it's still absolutely dominating that market to end the day.I want to talk a little bit of price performance. Thanks to paradigm capital licensed producers and international stocks are not doing well over the last month. Both dropping between nine and 10%. Um, respect. Uh, those that are doing somewhat well are really just breaking even and investment companies and ciliary companies, extractors MSOE are down a little less than 1% on the month.Uh, and in the one week performance investment companies are up about half percent. Uh, that being said more specifically, I ant this continues to be the leader in, uh, one month and three. Performance, uh, it's 95% almost in the three month performance. Uh, the biggest loser I see across the board is really Hexo, uh, Hexo continues to drop, I think over the last month, around 40%, over the last three months, around 63 and a half percent.Um, I'd love for them to continue to push out good news. Like the sustainability effort. There's a lot to like about Hexo. Uh, they are not getting a lot of love in the markets. Uh, some other laggards to keep an eye on include next GreenWave and Charlotte's web both strong companies, uh, but both perhaps, uh, dip buying opportunities.Uh, at least I'm keeping them on my watch list. This is Elliot Lee, and I hope this is an interesting and useful start to your week with cannabis daily. Looking forward to doing this again tomorrow, go make some money. I hope all of you have had a successful, we can trading. It's definitely been up and down, uh, for myself, but I think we're ending the week on a high note. So very excited about that. Uh, as promised Aaron Thomas is coming on in a little bit with some cultural news, uh, devil or nothing today, my friend.Well, let's go ahead and dive into some stocks. Pablo's one. From Cantor Fitzgerald, uh, lowers the price target again for Aurora cannabis. That's ACB to $8 30 cents Canadian from $9 Canadian. The medical sales domestically make up about 90% of earnings in. Just leading that segment of the industry in Canada by massive amounts, but their recreational sales continue to take hits and decline. So Pablo is neutral on them. Uh, he's not bearish at this point. Um, and he's not at a sell at this point, but you know, nice to note that they could be a medical leader, but they are not, uh, making the strides they need on the recreational side. So, uh, we'll continue to monitor that. I think a watch list or.Uh, not quite ready to throw in some money there, keeping an eye on urban grow. That's UGR throw on the NASDAQ. I don't want to see them hit another low, uh, on the monthly charge. I want to see them a rise from where they are and if they do, I think, uh, the stock. I have a very nice into the year. B M M J that's body and mind closes in Ohio dispensary and processing facility with a mix of cash and stock, uh, body and mind, according to paradigm capital, uh, on the last.Is that 41.9%. Y'all 41.9%. They're not a high price in terms of their share price, but, uh, I love Mike Mills. I think he is a really, really phenomenal CEO in this space. Uh, and he has been relatively quiet until 2021. Uh, now he's starting to make moves. So B M J on the OTC, uh, Uh, and I will continue to be in Mike's court for the time being a terrorist NTRs SF receives Michigan pre-qualification approval for gage acquisition.Uh, so great news there, uh, in M S O S that is the ETF from advisor shares is up 8% on the year, uh, at a good point right now for them to see a nice little rebound upwards. Uh, so let's see what they can do over there, but, uh, that, that is good news. And I think. Uh, MSOE is about to see a nice spike. Uh, that's it for me, Aaron Thomas, are you there? My friend, what's going on? Zinger nation. Thank you for tuning into cannabis daily. Uh, you know, Elliot's been killing it throughout the week and you know, I wasn't, I wasn't on the podcast last week, but hopefully, you know, I make up for it this week as Elliott. Allie has been teasing all week. You know, we're excited over here.Let's get into it first up. So Arizona dispensary beach is trading pre-rolls for bras to fight breast cancer. A dispensary in Arizona is raising money to fight breast cancer. The creative way by trading old bras for new products. I love that. Yeah, that's a good example. I mean, we're seeing a lot more, we talked to Cameron Forney yesterday.I know you're going to get into that in a second, but, uh, you know, to see this industry take up arms for battles we've been fighting for decades, uh, I think is only going to help move this industry forward further. And that's a selfish statement, I guess, on my own part, but, uh, we're a community we're all in this together. And I love hearing stories like. Yeah, same. Um, also Cameron Forney. Uh, I'm going to get into that in a second, but he also did touch on, uh, you know, the packaging, uh, in cannabis and how it's, you know, very atrocious and everything. And this got, got me to, uh, got me to thinking, you know, the different types of initiatives that, you know, cannabis could introduce such as, you know, recycling programs for discounts, you know, things that could reduce the overall.Uh, you know, waste, I guess, something more sustainable. Yeah. Well, we talked about Hexo doing that. They reached carbon neutrality, um, by basically eliminating what would be about three and a half million, tons of plastic water. Um, or three and a half, uh, sorry, not three and a half million tons, three and a half million plastic water bottles.Um, so I mean, Hexo is doing it in Canada. Uh, obviously clearly if making an effort to do it here and Cameron with his mentors, I, I it's just so important. Investors are, are actively looking for who has sustained. Yep. Absolutely. And, and the retail investors as well are looking for, you know, that long-term play. And then for company aligns with their goals, then. So moving on, you know, more on Cameron Forney guys, if you guys didn't tune into the Benzinga cannabis, our catch us weekly 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Eastern on Benzingers YouTube channel. But yesterday we were joined by Cameron Forney, the president of select and special advisor to the CEO of curely yesterday. He announced a new project, a hyperscale ventures that looks to release a product. That gets you high in increments of, in increments, similar to alcohol, but a great alternative for those that don't like alcohol, what do you think, Elliott? I mean, it's brilliant, you know, and I've always asked the question is the cannabis beverage space going to be closer to cannabis or alcohol? And to me, this venture makes it closer to alcohol, but almost better than alcohol, you know, this is, I mean, it's so much better for you than alcohol, and that is a scientific fact. So I mean, the fact, if he can be successful with this, this is, uh, an incredible step for this segment of the canvas. Most definitely.Um, I'm very interested in following this project and hearing more about it. Um, so moving on just a few more news items or cultural news items, I should say. Uh, if you haven't heard college age, adults are getting high at historic levels. Elliott, uh, college students are using cannabis and psychedelics at a higher rate than past years. While alcohol use is at a record low, you know, It's their laundry gateway drug. You know, I think we should all get rid of that terminology. Um, it's no longer a gateway drug. Um, and that, that being said, it's not legal everywhere. So, you know, if you're, if you're smoking in a state where it's not legal, Be be, be careful, be safe.Yeah. Um, you know, and, and psychedelics, you know, that's, that's a whole other discussion that I'm not going to advise anybody on, on this podcast, but, uh, it's not ultimately surprising. So, you know, and, and I think there's a comparison there with alcohol. Right. Um, let's see, in terms of like alcohol use going down.Yeah. So, uh, Let me find here. Um, well it essentially, I mean, basically cannabis use is going up. Alcohol use is going down. Yeah. I've been going down since 1980 is what he was saying. So. Pretty cool to see. I mean, it is, I like seeing this and hearing about it because, you know, it's, it's great to hear that teens aren't getting, you know, like blackout, um, alcohol, um, every week they're, you know, controlling themselves. They're having real relaxed nights and with cannabis, they're allowed to, you know, control, you know, their, their high a lot more, or, you know, their night to be more safe and such. Yeah. I mean, It's encouraging for this industry. It should be. And I think you can mix the two spaces with what Cameron's doing with what can C a N N is doing as a brand.Uh, canopy and air are both making steps in the beverage space. It's going to be a sector. So alcohol needs to honestly start moving into the sector soon because you already saw till Ray's acquisition of Sweetwater. Last three flights, Ivonne I've been on, I've had a Sweetwater. You know, so, I mean, they're everywhere like Tilray is, is already making moves into the alcohol space.I don't know what the alcohol space is waiting on in terms of getting into the cannabis space. Anyways, that's a longer conversation maybe for a canvas, our most definitely. And from me the last item, let's end it on, you know, a light hearted, you know, funny note. So in Tennessee, a granny. Uh, it was a granny has been caught or not caught. There's an article that states that granny flips off the police in a mugshot after a cannabis farm bust. Yes. This Tennessee woman was not about to go down without making a statement. Uh, so apparently when law enforcement officers searched the elderly women woman, And farm last Monday in Jackson county, Tennessee, they definitely got more than what they bargained for.Uh, Peggy Brewington told officers there was maybe announced maybe an ounce of pot on our farm before officers searched the premises and found dozens of cannabis plants, and 20 pounds of.Lea crud pet Peggy don't mess around, man. Peggy is about to become an industry hero. I'll tell you that right now, if that picture goes viral, which you may already have, that you got. Uh, keynote at one of our events I'm coming. She's got her mask on. It looks like it might be a Hawaiian shirt. And, uh, she's definitely showing no emotion.Just flipping off the camera. It's fantastic. She's like down with this BS. Oh man. That's great. That was a good one to end on Aaron. Thank you. Yeah, of course, of course. Happy to do it for you guys and zinger nation out there. Thank you for tuning in, uh, you know, I hear that we have. Listeners tuning in from all over the world.First of all, wanna thank all of you guys out there and singer nation, wherever you're joining from. Thank you for joining us, uh, daily cannabis, uh, for cannabis daily, for stock ideas, you know, trade, trade ideas and news, but we, we appreciate you guys. Absolutely. And Aaron, appreciate you, my friend. Thank you for doing this every Friday.Uh, we'll see you guys on Monday until then have a fabulous. Yep. Thank you. Thank you everyone.
