What if the biggest barrier to client action is not the quality of the financial plan, but the lack of purpose behind it? In this episode, Cary Sinnett sits down with Andrea Millar to explore how life planning helps financial planners move beyond technical recommendations and uncover what truly matters most to clients. Andrea shares how deeper conversations around purpose, relationships, fulfillment, and meaning can lead to stronger engagement, clearer decision-making, and more intentional financial behavior. Together, Cary and Andrea discuss how CPA financial planners can integrate life planning concepts into existing client relationships without abandoning technical precision. Questions Answered Why do some clients fail to follow through on financial advice? How can planners uncover what truly matters most to clients? Why do "soft skills" often improve technical planning outcomes? How can advisors begin incorporating life planning concepts into their existing process? Key Takeaways Clients are more likely to act on recommendations when financial advice connects to personal meaning and purpose. Technical expertise becomes more powerful when paired with deeper discovery conversations. Human-centered guidance may become even more valuable as AI advances in technical planning. Connect with the Investor Mama Tribe With over 25 years of experience managing the full spectrum of her clients' financial lives – everything from accounting and bill payment to coordinating with wealth managers, estate attorneys, and insurance agents – Tari K. Vickery brings an unmatched, real-world perspective to the emotional side of money. Her sociology degree from Stanford and lived experience through dramatic personal financial shifts give her a rare blend of academic insight and deep empathy. Her authenticity and hands-on expertise resonate with readers across generations, making her voice both trustworthy and transformational. Key Takeaways: Your money story starts in childhood — and it’s not your fault. Most money struggles are rooted in what we watched, heard, and felt as kids. Recognizing those patterns is the first step to breaking them. “We can’t afford it” can do more harm than good. Teaching kids the value behind financial choices (“we choose to spend our money differently”) builds healthier money mindsets than using scarcity language. Even wealthy people stress about money — and here’s why. Unexamined money triggers don’t disappear when the bank balance grows. Awareness of why money triggers you is what creates real peace. Avoidance is the enemy of financial freedom. Whether it’s unopened mail or unfiled taxes, avoidance creates a vicious cycle. The antidote? Start small, track your spending, and build on tiny wins. Start money conversations early — and make them normal. Talking to kids about money casually (at the grocery store, toy store, or dinner table) is far more powerful than one big, scary “money talk.” Have the hard conversations with aging parents and your partner. Not knowing where your parents stand financially — or being misaligned with your spouse on money values — creates silent stress that compounds over time. Compassion is the gateway to change. When you start examining your money wounds, be gentle with yourself and your parents. No one intentionally passed down financial trauma. CNN~ This weeks topic is Financial Literacy. This is wake up challenge for all entrepreneurs & for our own personal present & future growth. You may have see my guest recently featured on CNN, Rob Wilson. He is a financial advisor at an independent financial and investment advisory firm based in Pittsburgh (a.k.a SixBurgh – The City Of Champions). He feels that we all should be focused in Financial Independence. Rob says: "The corporation's reason for existence is not to keep you employed. Its job is to maximize profit for its shareholders." Rob has been dubbed “Hip Hop's Financial Advisor” because he is a trusted advisor to professional athletes & entertainers; Rob believes that we can all learn from their success. However, Rob states: "I realized that as a financial advisor, I have also come into contact with, and have as clients, a plethora of doctors, lawyers, accountants, architects, business people and entrepreneurs that are living fabulous lives. In fact, many of these individuals live lives that are far more enriching than a number of these celebrities, because of the fact that, due to their inability to manage their money, the average celebrity's “high life” is short lived. However, the stories of these wildly successful “non-celebrities” has largely gone untold…" Rob is originally from Pittsburgh. He received his bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and his Masters in Business Administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.~ RobWilsonTV.com © 2026 Building Abundant Success!! 2026 All Rights Reserved Join Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASJoin me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon Music ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy: https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett Key Takeaways Saving too much is just as bad as spending too much, from a psychological perspective; being too far on either end of this spectrum means that money is controlling you Money amplifies who you already are: It will not cure anxiety or depression, but if you're already happy, it will enhance your life Saving money is the equivalent of purchasing independence A reasonable savings goal: enough that if you lost your job, your car broke down, or your roof needed replacing, you could handle it without losing sleepYour feeling of wealth is what you have minus what you want – and it is so easy to ignore the latter There are two ways to get wealthier: (1) Sacrifice more or (2) Want less There is an optimal level of intelligence for being successful as an investor: The beginner and the Wall Street veteran both invest in index funds; only the midwit tries to beat the market Be smart enough to understand the basics, but not so smart that they become boring to you The biggest risk is always unknowable: The worst economic story that happens in the next ten years will be something that no one is talking about today If no one could see how you are living, how would you choose to live? Join Doug Bennett as he sits down with Financial Expert and Business Coach Monica Garcia Duggal. For 30 years she has been helping people, in particular, entrepreneurs to build wealth without burnout. Monica explains how the 80/20 rule, breath-work, meditation, a commitment to self-care and doing what she loves, including becoming an Ironman athlete, have helped her achieve big, audacious goals to create the life she loves. KEY TAKEAWAYS Monica has always used written goals to stretch herself and achieve more than anyone would think is possible. Use the 80/20 rule in all aspects of your life. Including when deciding how to spend your personal time. Focus in on the things that bring you the most joy, the things that nurture and re-energise you the most. Self-care is essential. Protect and feed your curiosity. That is where your most successful ideas come from. Curiosity also provides fuel to keep you motivated, growing and moving forward. Breath work is incredibly, incredibly powerful. Even 10 minutes a day will change your physiology and brain. For Monica, it has played a big role in helping her succeed. Companies that do not require the founder to run and remain profitable are easy to sell for a big profit. Focus on building self-managing companies. BEST MOMENTS "Goals, that's everything. You just have to figure out what you want, set the goal, and then just move forward on it. " "The 80/20 rule - 20% of whatever you do is giving you 80% of the results." "With goals, just show up. Everything will work itself out. Just show up, don´t judge. Show up and you will reach all your dreams." "Pay attention to your breathing three times per day. Even 10 breaths that's gonna start changing the neurons in your brain.." "To get the best price for your business, you've got to be superfluous to it."
