Breaking Expectations, Finding Freedom and Pride: A Journey Within with Rachel Freemon Sowers Episode # 107 On this episode of The Creative Soulpreneur, Nick and guest Rachel Freemon Sowers dive deep into the importance of finding joy and authenticity in one's life. Rachel shares her personal struggles with societal expectations and feelings of inadequacy, as well as her journey towards prioritizing joy and self-love. From overcoming anxiety in a dark tunnel to coming to terms with her own LGBTQ+ identity, Rachel shares valuable insights into the power of self-acceptance and healing. Tune in for a thought-provoking conversation on finding joy and healing in a world that often tries to keep us down. You'll Learn: How did Rachel used to present herself to others in the past? Answer: Joyful and fun, but it was often a mask she put on for appearances. What does Rachel prioritize now in her life, and why? Answer: Doing things that truly bring her joy, to be her authentic self, and to form genuine connections with others instead of fake intimacy and connection which is common in society today. How does Rachel overcome anxiety while biking through a dark tunnel?Answer: By having faith in herself, communicating with others, and slowly pedaling through the darkness. What is the main metaphor Rachel uses to describe a difficult time in life, and what are the tools being discussed to help with it? Answer: A tunnel. The tools being discussed are said to help find a way out of the darkness and towards a fun, joyful life. Why is finding joy in life emphasized, and how has Rachel struggled with finding it in the past? Answer: It is emphasized because finding joy is important for being authentic and forming genuine connections with others. Rachel struggled with finding joy due to feelings of inadequacy and external expectations. Is self-improvement a one-time fix? and what is the key to self-improvement? Answer: No, it is a work in progress. The key is to accept and acknowledge all parts of oneself without judgment or self-shame. What is Nick and Rachel's experience with religion and how has it contributed to feelings of shame and guilt? Answer: Nick did not grow up in a religious household but prayed to God at 14 to not make him gay despite already knowing he was and felt guilt and shame. Rachel states how the societal message to LGBTQ+ individuals is that they are even more flawed for being who they are. How did Rachel take ownership of their life when she was in a difficult situation? Answer: She realized they needed to heal herself and committed to going within themselves. She left friend groups, stopped talking to people, and decided to take ownership of her life. What was Nick's experience running away to New York City and how did it affect his perspective on shame and expectations? Answer: Nick ran away to New York City with the goal of becoming a Broadway performer but realized that running away didn't solve all his problems as the issues still existed even if he was in a new environment. Rachel was shamed for her actions in a religious context, but she doesn't regret them and noticed hypocrisy in the behavior of preachers who told her how to behave but acted differently behind the scenes. She also noticed that as a young woman, she was expected to behave differently from men. www.rachelfreemonsowers.com IG YT TikTok LinkedIn Morgana's The Creative Soulpreneur Episode Nick Demos is a Tony and Olivier Award winning Broadway producer, documentary filmmaker, conscious business coach and manifestation expert With over 15 years of teaching pranayama (breath work), yoga and creativity as well as thirty years in the entertainment industry, he has travelled from the Tony Awards to ashrams and run a multi-million dollar business in between. INE and INA imposter syndrome. I know it can feel really difficult to stay motivated (no seriously I do know). I have been training to ride 545 miles over 7 days in the Aids/Lifecycle ride. You have goals, you have things you want to do, places you want to travel, feelings of living your fullest & best life and it is time for you to have it ALL.

Today is my birthday and I am in LOVE with my life. I have so many people to thank for helping me get to this point in my life and in this episode of Road to Radical Visibility you will meet just one of them.
"I was like, well, holy shit, who am I then? If I'm not their mom, if I'm not their grandma, if I'm not the Raley's girl, who the hell am?! I used to be somebody before all that." she said. Losing yourself happens more than people really want to admit. You get stuck in a pattern of doing and being and then you wake up on day saying this very thing, "Holy shit who am I"?Then there's cultural constructs and other people with whom you are co-creating your reality with and well you lose sight of your own way of being. You get pushed, pulled and held back by the "right" way to be doing something, acting or even just being "yourself". In this episode my former client Kimberly Kern shares her journey of returning back to her wholeness and the wake up call that made her say, "I need help". Kimberly decided that it was time for her to stop shoving things away and create the capacity to understand why she was experiencing certain things and how she wanted to experience her life without all the guilt ,shame and other peoples expectations. She went from - "There's something wrong with me" and "what do I need to do" to "is this mine?" (without feeling bad about herself) and "nope that's yours".She realized that "boundaries are for me not other people!" and that is wasn't her job to fix everything just because she was told she was a "fixer". She opened her mind to being "empathic" and understanding the deepest parts of herself with love and compassion.ANDShe experienced for the first time true freedom, joy and self-love more than she had ever thought she had the capacity to do. If you're thinking to yourself, wow that all sound good, I want that! Are you someone who has found themselves feeling chronically overwhelmed or tired? or maybe you feel like your emotions are spilling out all over the place, or your find yourself just going through the motions trying to get to that next vacation, weekend, bath or glass of wine? Don't worry you are not alone. I have been hearing this from a lot of my clients and that is why I am creating this episode. Part of being radically visible is being able to show up as 100% yourself 100% of the time without shame or guilt and when we are out of alignment with our truest self we struggle to be 100% yourself 100% of the time. In all the work I have done with clients these are some of the top signs they have experienced that keep them from being radically visible and being 100% themselves 100% of the time. 1. Speak or feel in absolutes2. Have big emotions most if not all of the time3. Feel like you are facing problem after problemSo those are the top 3 signs it is time to reconnect with your true self or higher self and experience the feeling of wholeness in your mind, body and soul. If you are interested in doing this I highly recommend my Follow Your North Star Program where you learn how to identify and heal your Inner critic, find and connect with your truest self and create ultimate self trust in everything you are, say or do. In this episode we deep dive, from the very beginning. This is part 2 to Creating Success Your Way - No shame or guilt needed. My mentor Morgana McCabe Allan and I share with you three realizations that can help you open yourself to healing, shed the shame and guilt and step fully into a new reality in business and life. In this episode we share some of the parts of ourselves that we have healed. I share with you the "incredible shrinking girl" and the "queen" part of me and Morgana shares the part of her that continued to attract toxic relationships (in all forms) until she created a different relationship with this part of herself. As an LGBTQ+ entrepreneur there have been so many times in my business and life that I have struggled. I thought that I needed another experts strategy, funnel, social media templates and even their "program" to finally create success in my business. Funny enough I didn't need any of that and you probably don't either. The ONLY thing I needed to do was to show up in my business as 100% myself and be who I was compelled to be from the inside out. I just want to assure you that this was not an overnight process. I wasn't a
In this episode of Road to Radical Visibility, Rachel Freemon Sowers explores the three types of trauma that are causing you to stay small in life and business. Understanding yourself is the first step in developing radical visibility to speak your truth, create the impact you want in your business and life. Have you been feeling like:You're ready for more in business & life? You're done conforming to what others want, feel, think or expect of you? You're ready to stop believing everything you were taught and decide what you think, feel and want?If you answered yes to any of the above I encourage you to listen to this episode. I know how it can feel. I tell the stories of discrimination by the very people I was helping. I felt oppressed and just got used to it. You can free yourself when you realized the majority of what you claim to be true is NOT your truth.Wanting to find out more on creating Radical Visibility so that you can create the impact you know you are meant to create?Join my FB Group: Radical Visibility and Authentic Video MasteryLink: https://www.facebook.com/groups/radicalvisiblityauthenticvideomasteryWant more inspiration and empowerment connect with me on social:TikTok: www.tiktok.com/@rachelfreemonsowersInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/rachelfreemonsowers/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rachelfreemonsowers/?ref=settingsLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rachel-freemon-sowers-184693156/Website: www.rachelfreemonsowers.comYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl264v_gjUeRZwLJYDN3Niw#FemaleEntrepreneur #WomenEmpowerment #RachelFreemonSowers #RoadToRadicalVisibility
