It's a full episode today deep into quarterly season!  We kick things off with more details on the tough Panoramic (PAN.asx) equity raising… Not a good time for a nickel player to have to raise. The mood lightens somewhat discussing a resource upgrade at Manna, Global Lithium's (GL1.asx) flagship project.  From Develop's (DVP.asx) quarterly the main talking point was that they are no longer interested in tendering for the mining services contract at Liontown's Kathleen Valley. Then, a quick mention on Albemarle's (ALB.nyse) decision to use Monadelphous (MND.asx) for constructions of trains 3 & 4 at Kemerton.  It was then onto some of the gold names, first up Bellevue (BGL.asx), who've drawn down on the debt which has had us talking lately, then RED 5 (RED.asx), who had a solid quarterly at King of the Hills.  Perseus (PRU.asx) might be pick of the bunch as they announced a US$522m pile of cash on the balance sheet.  We couldn't help but round out with Metals X (MLX.asx), undoubtably one of the most intriguing names on the ASX. Trav even does his best Bill Ackman impersonation, trying his hand at good ol' fashioned shareholder activism!  Thank you to our Partners at Anytime Exploration Services. We unpack the highs and lows (mostly lows) for the quarterly reports released in the last couple of days. Pilbara Minerals (PLS.asx) is the stand-out (as per usual) adding a further $656m of cash to the balance sheet. On the other end of the spectrum, Panoramic (PAN.asx), 29 Metals (29M.asx), Galena (G1A.asx) and Ora Banda (OBM.asx) are all losing money on their operations. We discussed where all those companies are sitting in terms of funds, capital raises and debt-facility drawdowns. Of keen interest to the Money of Mine team, Sayona (SYA.asx) saw some Director's sell shares on market. Encounter (ENR.asx) have also put their hat in the ring for the West Arunta Niobium chase, releasing 2 holes confirming the presence of the enigmatic mineral. Will WA1 get pipped from 1st place in the West Arunta? All Money of Mine episodes are for informational purposes only and may contain forward-looking statements that may not eventuate. But first, Seamus would have to humble himself by gaining a solid start in community college before gaining admission to Cornell. Once on the campus, Seamus found the services for veterans to be lacking. This week, Pop Screen has been thinking about a line drawn in the sand: specifically, a line drawn between the reasonable criticisms of PJ Harvey's 2016 album The Hope Six Demolition Project, and the ones that took her to task for not working out a viable model for bringing stable democracy to Afghanistan. (Yes, really) 2019's Seamus Murphy-directed documentary A Dog Called Money reopened the controversies, and it is this film that Aidan and Graham have gathered to discuss this week. On the way, we also consider the always-surprising career of Harvey, as well as  our favourite albums by her. We talk about Hope Six's status as an album that feels eerily predictive of 2016's political turmoil, and the many bizarrely-titled offcuts from the record that appear in this film and nowhere else. It's the closest we've ever got to a polemic: we really love this album, we really love this film, we really love PJ Harvey and we're sure we can convert you too. If we were a bit savvier, we'd expend all this persuasive power on getting you to donate to our Patreon, where you can get bonus episodes of Pop Screen, exclusive access to our other movie podcast Director's Lottery, Graham's Doctor Who reviews and more.

Seeking first-hand experience of the countries she wanted to write about, Harvey accompanied Murphy on some of his worldwide reporting trips, joining him in Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Washington DC. Harvey collected words, Murphy collected images. Back home, the words become poems, songs, then an album, which is recorded in an unprecedented art experiment in Somerset House, London. In a specially constructed room behind one-way glass, the public - all cameras surrendered - are invited to watch the 5 week process as a live sound-sculpture. Murphy exclusively documents the experiment with the same forensic vision and private access as their travels. Director / photographer Seamus Murphy brilliantly captures encounters with the people and places he and Polly Jean visit, showcasing the humanity at the heart of his work, while also tracing the evolution of their shared experience into her recorded music and ultimately into their impassioned collaboration.
