Over 5 Million cases of Skin Cancer are diagnosed each year. Skin cancer is the most common cancer and also the most preventable. I am certainly not an expert on this topic, but I am passionate about prevention in this area. I see so many people who do not apply sunscreen often, don't care to use it, or think the sun isn't out so it doesn't matter. But the truth is it all matters. You need to apply sunscreen every 2 hours, wear protective clothing/accessories, and know what to look for on your skin. If you're wearing sunscreen every day (which I'm sure you do, Superwoman!), then you're already following the number-one rule for sun protection. The 2nd rule – proper re-application – is just as important, however. See, friction, heat, sweat, and other environmental factors remove sunscreen off of our skin. In fact, it gets removed every 2 hours more or less. And so does your sun protection. With that, as an introduction for Skin Cancer Awareness Month, I'll teach you how to reapply your sunscreen with success every day. Sun protection may never be perfect 24/7 but every minute matters.
