In every ballet studio, there is a wall of mirrors. It reflects the people within. They're part of a closed, elite group that asks for sacrifice and devotion from its members. This insular community produces iconic artists. It's founded on a strict power structure, often with one man at the top. By tracing the origins of this unusual lifestyle, starting with the legacy of choreographer George Balanchine and the intimate stories of young dancers, we expose the beauty of an art form and the complexity of ballet culture. This episode contains sexual misconduct. Sensitive listeners, please be advised. This story came to us from the podcast The Turning from creators Rococo Punch and iHeartPodcasts. It was produced by Erika “Once a Snappa always a Snappa” Lantz and Alin Lantz Lesser. Editing by Emily Forman. Sound Design by James Trout. Assistant Producer is Jessica Kariisa. Digital production by Andrea Asuaje. Fact checking by Andrea López-Cruzado. Executive producers Jessica Alpert, John Perotti, Katrina Norvell, and Nikki Ettore. Fiat cash, aka government-issued currency, may be singing its swan song. The good news? Bitcoin and free markets have the potential to help people claim back their sovereignty. Chris Gimmer joins us on the show to talk about why the state of markets is so dismal, how government intervention has played a major role in this demise, and why Bitcoin is the way forward through the mess. Chris is the Co-founder of Snappa, a top-of-the-range design and templating SaaS product, as well as the creator of the bitcoin dashboard, Bitbo.io. In this episode, Chris dives into how we can transition from a fiat frame of mind into a Bitcoin-centered system. Discussing how Snappa is using BTC as their reserve asset, we hear first hand how this has enabled them to weather the economic downtown caused by COVID-19. In an ever-evolving global situation, Chris shares about why he's moving from Canada to the U.S., and how using a divisible, portable currency allows both brands and individuals to break out of the limitations provided by fiat currency, despite their geographical location. Tune in as we explore why we should be considering a bigger, future-oriented picture by investing in BTC.

Christopher Gimmer is the co-founder of Snappa, a software company that simplifies graphic design. Chris released a blog post recently, explaining why his company made the decision to add bitcoin to their balance sheet, by converting a large portion of the company's cash balance to bitcoin. It was an excellently written piece, which also serves as a fantastic primer for explaining the investment case for bitcoin generally. Of course, this comes on the heels of the big announcement by MicroStrategy in early August, which announced that they were converting $250million of their balance sheet cash to bitcoin. I believe this is a trend that we will see accelerate rapidly, so I thought it would be interesting to get Chris to come on and explain the thinking behind his companies decision, and discuss some more of the details around it. Strider hypothesizes as to where exactly the game was invented, but unlike the warm brew racked up in Beer Pong cups the trail ran cold. Luckily, Brooks Burgoon the former rush chair for Sigma Nu at U.C. Santa Barbara shares his expertise on the origins of Snappa and Beer Die. A re-rack may be required to find the exact origin of Beer Pong, but when it comes to the roots of Snappa it's all clinks and sinks.Sources:Interview with Brooks Burgoon Snappa expert and filmmaker, Bpong.com, Wikipedia.org, Lonelyplanet.com, ‘Sapiens’ by Yuval Noah Harari
