Raising eight kids across six states and two countries gave Renee Thomas Hawkley a front-row seat to the beautiful chaos of family life. Now a grandmother and widow at 79, she's still learning new lessons in love, loss, and letting her adult children “mother” her back. Author of “Once Upon an Amateur Mom” and the forthcoming “Amateur Moms Happily Ever After,” Renee shares honest, humorous stories that reassure overwhelmed moms that joy is still hiding in the mess. From heart‑shaped Valentine's pizzas and allergy‑friendly family dinners to long‑distance group texts and quick check‑ins, Renee shows how simple acts of inclusion and thoughtfulness keep families close even when they're spread across multiple states and seasons of life. In this conversation, Renee and Robert explore the emotional shifts of aging and empty nesting, the reality that every child needs different rules, and the hard truth that you can't fix everything but you can always offer love and kindness. Renee reflects on widowhood and the enduring influence of her late husband Dan, and closes by reading her moving piece “A Mother's Creed,” a poetic reminder that motherhood links humanity's past to its future. Whether you're a mom in the trenches, an empty nester, or an adult child wondering how to better honor your own mother, you'll come away with simple, practical reminders to invite, include, and reach out while there's still time. Quotes: “You can't fix everything for your children but you can always offer your love, your kindness, and the joy of having them close.” “Every child is raised in the same home, but no two children are the same and sometimes love means giving them different rules.” “At 79, I've learned that letting my children ‘mother' me is not weakness; it's the beautiful proof that family love has come full circle.” Resources: Renee Hawkley Once Upon an Amateur Mom Kindle Edition on Amazon

California to the UP: Valerie Whiteman on Community, Courage, and Full-Circle Life | Conversations with a Chiropractor Episode Description In this warm, funny, and surprisingly moving episode of Conversations with a Chiropractor, Dr. Stephanie Wautier is joined by Valerie Whiteman, the familiar face and steady presence so many patients recognize the moment they walk through the door. Valerie is the kind of person strangers tell their life story to in the banana aisle, and in this conversation, you'll understand exactly why. They start with a detail most people don't know: Valerie once won a game show. Not "kind of" won, actually won, walking away with $8,000 in 1986 and a story that still feels unreal. From there, the episode opens up into Valerie's roots, including the family history that runs from England to Montreal to California, and the adventurous streak she clearly inherited. Valerie also shares the harder chapters: losing her dad at four, moving in with her grandparents, and being shaped by the kind of quiet love that changes your whole trajectory. And then, in a twist that surprises a lot of people who know her today, she talks about going through the police academy and serving as an officer in Southern California, including what she saw, what stayed with her, and how she learned to de-escalate with words. The conversation lands right where it started: real-life connection. Valerie's mom "Grandma Betty" became part of Stephanie's family story, and the two reflect on the weird beauty of time, how life cycles around, and what it means to treat people the way you'd want to be treated. If you like episodes that feel like a front-porch chat with actual depth, this one sticks.
It's Wednesday, February 11th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Christians are leaving volatile Middle East The number of Christians in the Middle East is falling as religious freedom deteriorates in the region. Karmella Borashan of the Assyrian International Council addressed the International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, D.C. last week. She warned, “Christianity is fading from the Middle East and [Christians] are placed in the mercy of the perpetrators. Once we had 1.5 million Christians; now we have only less than 300,000 left.” Assyrian Christians, in particular, face persecution from Muslim Jihadists in Syria and Iraq. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” U.S. and Hungary partner to advance religious freedom Speaking of the Middle East, the United States and Hungary signed an agreement last week to advance religious freedom in the region. The U.S. Department of State noted, “Christians are the most persecuted religious group worldwide, yet atrocities and attacks against them too often go unaddressed. Such persecution presents a threat to American security and undermines the values upon which our nation was built.” Hungary has already been supporting suffering believers for years through its office of Aid for Persecuted Christians. The new agreement is focused on aiding the church in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. More Gen Zers attending church in New Zealand Baptist churches in New Zealand are seeing increased interest from young people. Gen Z has reportedly been leading a rise in church attendance in the West, known as the “quiet revival.” The 2025 Annual Report for the Baptist Churches of New Zealand noted similar findings for its young people. Youth attendance in these churches increased 24% between 2022 and 2024. And people under the age of 25 accounted for nearly 60% of baptisms reported. Trump tosses Obama's global warming policy In the United States, the Trump administration is expected to repeal an Obama-era climate change policy this week. The policy is known as the Endangerment Finding. It claimed that greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, are a danger to public health. The finding has been the legal basis for regulating greenhouse gas emissions. The Environmental Protection Agency plans to rescind the rule, making it “the largest act of deregulation in the history of the United States.” Is social media addictive to kids? Major social media companies are facing landmark trials this year for how their platforms affect children. A case against Google-owned YouTube and Meta-owned Instagram begins this week. The companies face accusations that their platforms were designed to be addictive for kids. The platforms TikTok and Snap were initially named in the lawsuit, but settled for undisclosed amounts. Floridian Christian defended for objecting to pro-abort COVID shot Liberty Counsel recently filed an appeal on behalf of a Christian who lost his job for not getting the COVID-19 shot, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Christian Marin worked for Nemours Children's Hospital in Florida. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he refused to get the shot due to his pro-life beliefs. The hospital fired him in 2021. And the Florida Commission on Human Relations sided with the hospital in 2023. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Nemours [Hospital] violated Marin's religious protections and should be held accountable.” RFK partners with Christian recovery programs for addicts & homeless The Trump administration is welcoming faith-based organizations to participate in a new recovery program for drug addiction and homelessness. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the announcement last week at Prevention Day. It's the largest government-sponsored gathering dedicated to advancing the prevention of substance use. Listen to comments from Secretary Kennedy. KENNEDY: “This is a chronic disease. It's a physical disease. It's a mental disease. It's an emotional disease. But, above all, it's a spiritual disease. And we need to recognize that faith-based organizations play a critical role, helping people re-establish their connections to community.” Grandfather recorded entire Bible on audio for grandkids And finally, a grandfather went viral since December for giving his grandchildren a recording of him reading the entire Bible for Christmas. It took the grandfather over a year to complete. A video of him sharing the gift got more than a million views across social media. The video was originally posted by Tiffany Shabazz. She said, “We shared one video of Grandpa giving us such a personal meaningful gift and now everyone wants a copy. I can't believe how many people this has reached. God is definitely in this story. … We are up to needing 118 copies for people all over the world.” Psalm 78:4 says, “We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, February 11th, in the year of our Lord 2026. China's population is declining Last year's birth numbers for China recently came out and it was the lowest since 1949. What was the population of China in 1949? It was only around 540 million people so percentage wise it was a much higher birth rate than the 7.9 million we saw in 2025. With over 1.4 billion people and about 11 million people dying every year in China, it will take a long time to have results of a large declining population, but he problem with a lower birth rate than death rate is that it has major changes for an economy. China has a life expectancy of 79 years old. This means that the population is getting older, and there are fewer young people working to support the older generation that generally need more medical and social services. With an aging population, there's generally less need for housing, schools, and businesses because older people have less need for these services which can grow an economy versus the cost of higher medical demand. China also has a problem with immigration as they have over 300,000 people more leaving versus coming in. You may be wondering how the United States stacks up? In 2025 we had 3.7 million babies born and 3.2 million deaths in the country. I was surprised to learn that the mortality age is under China's at 78.4 years. With all the illegal immigration and the heightened status of what is going on with immigration in the United States, it is hard to come up with a concrete number. However, it is obvious that more people want to come to the United States than leave, which could help support a low birth rate. Another history lesson shows why we don't overpay for hot stocks We know it's exciting to be in the next hot thing on Wall Street, but that was the same way people felt just a few years ago with hot software companies like Salesforce, Adobe and ServiceNow. Looking back, many of these once hot companies now have seen very disappointing five-year returns. As an example, Salesforce is only up around one percent over the last five years, and Adobe has actually fallen around 35% during that timeframe. The reason we won't overpay for earnings on high flying companies is because many things can change like we have seen in the software industry. Software companies were supposed to benefit from AI, but now Anthropic's Claude code, which is an AI tool, says it can shrink the time it takes to build complex software. Also, new competition can come from startup companies that can slowly take away market share of the older companies a little bit at a time. Unfortunately, some of the software companies began to borrow substantial amounts of money and now have a highly leverage balance sheet, which could cause some problems in the future. In just the last 24 months, 13 software companies have defaulted on loans. I don't think many of these big software companies will go out of business anytime soon, but I don't believe their stock will run up to levels seen in the past anytime soon. Gold has done well, but silver has surged! Should you buy it now? Silver is now up over 250% in the last year alone as it has become immensely popular with retail investors. Many investors are excited to point out that silver has a strong use case as an industrial metal. It's a key component in electronics, including circuit boards, switches, and solar panels thanks to the fact that it's an excellent conductor of electricity. Thanks to increasing demand for areas such electric vehicles and growing electricity needs, largely due to the AI push, industrial use cases now account for around 60% of demand. This compares to under 50% just a decade ago. I was also surprised to learn that silver may be subject to supply shortages as about ¾ of new silver is created as a byproduct of mining other metals like copper, zinc, and lead. This has led to silver demand outstripping supply every year since 2018. While all this sounds positive, generally markets have a way of reconfiguring the supply and demand equation. I believe this could lead to companies that have silver as an input cost will instead look for alternative sources as the price has become prohibitive after the recent surge. This would then hurt demand for silver. On the supply side since the economics of finding silver is strong at this time, you could see more mining for silver and the other metals, which would then increase the supply of silver. Declining demand and increasing supply would be problematic for the price of silver. Another way to look at the value of silver is the silver-to-gold ratio which tells you how many ounces of silver you need to buy one ounce of gold. The 50-year average is around 65, but today that ratio has fallen below 50. That is the lowest ratio in over a decade. Ultimately, your guess is as good as mine for where the top is for silver, but long term I don't believe we will see strong results from this level. Don't forget this is a volatile asset with other historical instances of massive rallies that were followed by large declines. We have talked about the Hunt Brothers' attempt to corner the market in the 80s, but more recently there was a bubble that occurred in 2011. The price peaked at around $49 in April of that year but quickly tumbled about 25% in just a week and ultimately ended the year at $27 for a total decline of nearly 45% from the high. Financial Planning: Best Accounts for Kids and Grandkids When saving for kids and grandkids, the “best” account depends on the tradeoff between tax benefits, flexibility, and control. 529 plans offer tax-free growth and withdrawals for qualified education expenses, but non-qualified withdrawals trigger federal and state taxes and penalties on earnings. Up to $35,000 can be rolled into a Roth IRA over time without federal taxes or penalties, though some states, including California, still impose taxes and penalties. Roth IRAs provide tax-free growth and tax- and penalty-free access to contributions at any age, but contributions require earned income, which many children do not have. Trump accounts function similarly to a retirement account. Funds generally cannot be accessed before age 18, and early withdrawal penalties apply until age 59½. Growth is tax-deferred, but earnings are taxed at ordinary income rates upon withdrawal, similar to a traditional IRA funded with after-tax contributions. Unlike other retirement accounts, contributions can be made before age 18 even without earned income, and funds may later be converted to a Roth IRA, though taxes would apply to earnings at conversion. Custodial accounts (UTMA/UGMA) do not offer tax-deferred growth but benefit from the kiddie tax rules. In most cases, the first $2,700 of long-term capital gains and qualified dividends are taxed at 0%, allowing smaller accounts to grow largely tax-free. However, assets must be turned over to the child at adulthood with no restrictions on use. Finally, taxable accounts in a parent's or grandparent's name offer maximum flexibility and control over timing and purpose of gifts, but investment earnings are taxable to the adult each year, though usually at the lower capital gain and dividend rates. Because of the control and simplicity, we often recommend taxable accounts as a core strategy, supplemented by other account types when specific needs justify them. Hey friend. I'm so glad you're here with me today. If you're listening to this, chances are life has been feeling a little… full. Not bad. Not wrong. Just full. Between work, kids, school, meals, and all the little decisions you make from the second your feet hit the floor, it's no wonder your heart is craving rest. I'm just sitting here in our -20 degree weather batching some episodes as our next few weeks we are going to be enjoying all the family and Grandkids. Good day to stay inside! Today I want to talk about something that has changed my life and has changed the lives of thousands of busy moms I've walked with…Simplicity. Not the Pinterest kind. Not the everything-is-perfect kind. But the kind that actually makes your life easier. The kind that brings peace back into your home. The kind that reconnects you with the moments that matter most. Most moms don't realize this, but complexity steals our joy one tiny decision at a time. Every extra step. Every scattered routine. Every night you walk into the kitchen wondering what on earth to cook, it all chips away at your energy. And the truth is your exhaustion isn't a character flaw. It's not because you should be doing better. You're tired because your life is overcrowded. Simplicity pulls back the layers so you can breathe again. And Scripture tells us that God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. When your life feels chaotic, it doesn't mean you've failed, it means something needs to be simplified. When moms hear the word simplify, they think they need to add something like more organization, more color-coded systems, more complicated meal plans. But true simplicity is about removing what drains you. It's choosing fewer decisions instead of more. It's creating small repeatable rhythms so your brain doesn't have to work so hard. It's letting meals become easier by cooking once and eating all week. It's allowing grocery day to be simple by keeping the same staples on hand. It's trusting that less really is enough. When you take away the noise, you uncover a life that was already waiting for you - slower, calmer, more intentional. Simplicity doesn't just change your to-do list. It changes you. Your evenings feel peaceful instead of rushed. • Your kids get a more present, less frazzled version of you. • You start saving money because you're not grabbing takeout out of panic. • You stop living in survival mode and start living on purpose. • You begin to feel like you have your life back, even while working full-time. So many moms tell me, I didn't know it could feel this easy. But it can. And it starts with small shifts, often one simple system at a time. I didn't start out living simply, I learned it because I had to. As a nurse, I worked long shifts. I came home exhausted, hungry, and feeling like I had nothing left to give. I didn't want fast food to raise my kids, and I didn't want stress to define our home. So I started building small systems. Batch cooking. Simple routines. Staples I always kept on hand. Healthy meals that took minutes, not hours and an automated online business. And friend… that changed everything. It gave me margin. It gave me peace. It gave me time with my family that I didn't have before. And that's why I teach it now because I know what it feels like to carry more than you were ever meant to hold. If you're listening and thinking, I want this… but I don't know where to start, hear this: You don't have to overhaul your life. You don't need a planner full of color-coded tabs. You don't need a new personality. You just need one simple step. One small shift that lightens your load. And this January, I'm leading a FREE No Spend Challenge that will help you reset your budget, simplify your daily decisions, and start the year with intention, not stress & overwhelm. It's designed for the busy mom who feels like she's drowning in expenses, rushing through evenings, and wishing life could slow down. And it's completely free. Link for NO SPEND CHALLENGE -> https://stan.store/ClaimingSimplicity You can join at the link below, and each week I'll walk with you through small, simple changes that make a big difference in your spending. Friend, simplicity isn't about doing less so you can be more productive. Simplicity is about making room for what truly matters. It's about creating space for joy, presence, peace, and purpose. You deserve a life that feels lighter. You deserve systems that support you. And you deserve to live in a home where stress doesn't get the final say. I'm cheering for you, and I'm grateful we get to walk this journey together. Happy New Year Friend! Monica

What started as one grandson helping his Papa has grown into one of the most innovative companies in healthcare today. In our latest podcast episode, we sit down with Andrew Parker, the founder and CEO of Papa, to explore how a deeply personal family moment sparked a nationwide mission to combat loneliness, support caregivers, and redefine what it means to care for aging adults.Andrew's story begins with a need familiar to many families: his grandfather simply needed a little help and a little company. Instead of relying on the traditional caregiving model, Andrew wondered, What if we could make companionship more accessible, more human, and more joyful? That question became the foundation for Papa, a platform connecting older adults with “Papa Pals,” a modern, community-driven approach he perfectly describes as “grandkids on demand.”In the episode, Andrew walks us through the early days of the idea, how he tested the concept, what he got wrong, and the surprising ways people responded. He opens up about the challenges of building a company in a space where emotional connection matters as much as logistics, as well as the pressure and responsibility that come with serving some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. You'll hear how Papa navigated fast growth, shifting market conditions, and the complexities of working with major health plans. Andrew also shares what he's learned about leadership, resilience, and why the “kindness economy” may be the next frontier for healthcare innovation. His insights offer value not only to founders and operators, but to anyone curious about how a mission-driven business can scale without losing its heart. This episode is a reminder that groundbreaking companies don't always come from flashy tech or radical disruption, they're often built from empathy, lived experience, and a desire to solve real problems for real people. Andrew's journey proves that when you focus on creating meaningful human connections, the impact can reach far beyond what you imagined. If you're interested in aging, healthcare innovation, founder stories, or simply love hearing how a small spark can turn into something transformative, this is an episode you won't want to miss. I was really reflecting on this last year for us and all that we have done because of the steps God is taking us through & just how thankful I am for every single day. The intentional and slow days we are truly blessed with are surely not taken for granted. This month we have had Grandkids here for almost the whole month & all of that time with them is so special. If I was working a traditional job, I would not be available as I am now and it really got me thinking about this. Parents drop off kids for 8 to 10 hours a day 5 days a weekThey drive to a job that pays for daycare, their car and home they don't own. Then gov takes 25-40% of income which is the same Gov that created the broken food system where the cheapest calories are the ones that poison you Ingredients banned in other countries, are “totally fine” here in the US We work ourselves to death and then eat food that slowly kills us and that what we call normal. Here is our plan to opt out: We invested in skills that pay-Not another degrees, but skills we can use to work from home for our online business. We try to eat real food while keeping the price down as much as possible, which means cooking from scratch and not eating out or getting takeout. That is a very RARE occasion here. We make as many products ourselves with natural ingredients such as laundry detergents, soaps and it is usually cheaper and non toxic but with natural ingredients. We don't upgrade our cars, we drive them until they can't run anymore, not because we can't afford it, but because we value giving to causes with eternal rewards rather than looking good for others on earth. We live for deeper meaning and being the hands and feet of Jesus. We long to hear Well done, good and faithful servant. And as a result there is no rat race, just peace here because we have control over the way we live. This is our path out, 1 decision at a time I would love for you to join me on this movement of glorifying God while building a business from home and keeping an intentional life. I believe there is more to life than just running on this hamster wheel most people think is normal. If you are ready to enjoy every day with the Bigger Plans God has for you, you are in the right place. It is that time of year as the weather turns colder that we find unwanted boarders making themselves at home in our houses. Amy and Tim discuss the trouble with mice and their attempts to rid them from their domiciles. Who else would you suspect to be the "Mouser-in-Chief" in Amy's house? One hint: It is not the one who should be the most obvious! We end the discussion with another item from "Return to Civility," where the discuss takes a turn to how much should we consider other people when we need to advance our agenda?

Do you like your Grandkids? Not love, but like!
A sow at six feet. Cubs overhead. A guide holding a hard line. The moment cracks open fast—and it never lets up from there. We break down what a charging bear is really saying: the pinned ears, the jaw clacks, the bluff rushes that test your calm and your conviction. Because out here, panic kills—and composure keeps you alive. Then we dig into the work no one films. Thousands of pounds of bait dragged through thick Alberta timber. Barrels and beavers hauled deep to pattern sex and size. The long, quiet sits where ethics are measured not by what you take, but by what you let walk.Predator management gets stripped of the politics and the pretty words. Bears and wolves multiply faster than moose and deer; spring calves and fawns don't stand a chance without balance. “Let nature take its course” sounds noble—until the helicopters come, until the snares replace hunters, until the meat goes to waste. This is conservation rooted in data, discipline, and respect. We revisit the spear hunt that broke the internet—and what it taught us about storytelling, perception, and earning trust in the middle, not the extremes. And beneath all of it runs faith, family, and legacy. A 36-year marriage built on Jesus Christ. Kids raised to ask hard questions. Grandkids learning to shoot a .410 and skin what they take. A health scare labeled “a miracle” by pathology—and a peace before surgery that can only be called divine. The conversation ends where it began: stewardship. Manage predators. Use the meat. Tell the story well. And always keep a warm place at the table for those who need it most.If this hits home, share it with a friend, follow the show, and leave your take on ethical predator management—we'll read the best on air.To learn more about The Rivets and their outfit, visit: https://therivetco.com/ and follow their journey on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/jennrivet_/?hl=en and https://www.instagram.com/johnnyrivet/?hl=enSend us a textSupport the showFollow Wild Chaos on Social Media: Apple iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-wild-chaos-podcast/id1732761860Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5KFGZ6uABb1sQlfkE2TIoc?si=8ff748aa4fc64331 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wildchaospodcastBam's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bambam0069Youtube: https://youtube.com/@wildchaospodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thewildchaospodcastMeta (Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/TheWildChaosPodcast

✨ In this episode, we look at the lives of four men—Chuck Swindoll Jr., Frank Schaeffer, Joshua Harris, and Bart Campolo—sons of prominent Christian leaders who each walked away from the faith of their fathers. Paired with the biblical example of Demas, their stories highlight a crucial truth: God has no grandchildren. Salvation requires personal conviction and new birth in Christ.

9-15-25 EP 206 // 5 Ways to Start Simplifying Your Life Without Feeling Stressed & Overwhelmed. Hello Friend! My life is very full with all of the things we choose it to be such as gardening and homesteading activities, but I make sure that I have time to just be, pray and think in the morning and that usually means getting up by 4:00 am. (Yes, I am in bed early at night so I get at least 7 hours of sleep) It gives me time to see the sun rise, sit in silence and just listen to what God is saying to me without any other disturbances. Our lives are shaped mostly by how we create them. If you know me at all you know that little simple things make me happy. I don't need to spend money to be happy, I enjoy the birds chirping, the rooster crowing, a fresh Fall breeze coming throught the open windows, the sun rising, walking in the woods and we are now living what we have created. I could have continued to climb the ladder working for someone else just to chase after more riches, but nearly 30 years ago, we made a life plan of how we wanted to live, raise our family and what was important to us……and guess what-not any of what was important to us was new cars or material items-it was Jesus, time with family and freedom to do what we want, when we want and it seems as if God has been just chasing us with blessing after blessing. Things have shifted slightly as God is giving us a new direction and so we will reveal where that is going as time goes on. Right now, we are at the stage of really God? You want us to do what? So I don't know any details right now, but I do know that He wants me to help you get back to the root of what is most important. I want to give you 5 simple steps to get started on this simple living journey, and I will saved the #1 way to the end. ~ 1st, Become so clear on what you value and make sure your time matches up with your values. You say you want time with your kids, but then you spend all day at work, or you might say you value giving, but your pocketbook looks like you spend more on things for yourself. It has to match up or you will not ever feel at peace or aligned. ~ Next, Make your life plan-do you want to be a SAHM and homemaker, do you want to living in the country, want to homestead or learn to cook from scratch to save money? What kind of house do you want to live in? Be so clear that when you move to a house, you realize it was exactly what you handwritten out in detail many years prior. Your life might not start out exactly as planned, but I can definitely tell you if you have a vision and a plan in written for, you will most likely get to that place! I even put in my plan I wanted to be a Grandma that was available for my Grandkids whenever they needed me or had events and I am thankful to be able to spend time with all of them quite often and love it! ~After that you will want to make a plan you reduce your debt. Maybe you need to sell a vehicle with a payment and get a used vehicle-there is certainly not anything wrong with having an older vehicle. I was just trying to figure out the last time we had a car payment-probalby over 15 years ago! Spend your money wisely and living a debt free live is so rewarding. Then you need to put your plan into action-just start-it is an incredible feeling to know what you are working toward! And the absolute #1 step that is the most important is reading your Bible and putting Jesus first in everything that you do. When you walk the narrow path, there are many rewards. I'm not saying there will be opposition, because there certainly will be, but the rewards far outweigh it. 1 Start reading your Bible Become clear on your values Create a written life plan of what you want your life to look like Make a plan to reduce debt Put your plan into action. I want you to send me a message and let me know how this is going for you and if I can help you in any way. Hey Friend! Wow, can you believe it is back to school already? We had a very different summer this year, but God's hand was in all of it and I wouldn't want it any other way. If He is in the middle of whatever is happening, there is peace. One of the many things I love about Fall is that even though here in MN things start to die, there is also a new and refreshing energy I feel. I love the crispy air and sweatshirt weather and like it to last as long as possible before the deep freeze, but for me Fall is so abundant. It is a very full season for us with all the garden produce, apple orchard harvest, bear hunting that starts at the beginning of September and then deer hunting. This is when we store most of our food for the year, so it is very productive. We only get bear tags every 6 years and our 15 year old daughter has one this year, so hoping for success for her as this will be her first one. My husband gets pretty excited getting everything ready for the hunt which starts in August. It really is such a blessing for them to get to experience it and I am so thankful they are so well rounded in so many areas of life and have more skills than 95% of their peers. I truly believe they are going to be so much further in life with the every day life they have learned over the years. From how to save on groceries and cook from scratch to hunting for food, processing it all along with all the life skills they learn on a homestead with animals! I am so grateful for all of you that reach out and are loving the podcast and now the instagram content! I am so so thankful for all of you-who knew this would grow so big just a few years ago when I had no idea what I was doing! Just trying to share everything I know to live a simpler life. Sometimes I feel like I'm failing you because I don't have consistent content, but then I remember that I'm doing the Lord's work and I don't have to burn out or give up my values especially after last year and knowing that rest is needed. Thank you for the grace. So this summer we have been getting ready for next Spring as we will have a graduation here for our daughter that is a senior. We have been moving flower gardens(they were full of the most gorgeous flowers along with many thistles and grass that I couldn't get rid of, so we made new garden beds for them. We have been staining and other miscellaneous things around here with the help of many Grandkids we have had over the summer with their daycares being off quite a bit which is fun ~ they just love it here and so fun for them to learn about the animals and milking, gathering eggs and all the fun that happens on a farm. Most of our fencing and barn work is done for now and it helps to have portable electric fencing from premier one. That works so nice for rotating the animals easily and often. There was a time in June when I couldn't get out of bed for 5 days, even lift my phone and I ended up having anaplasmosis, so glad I finally went in. I'm a little stubborn knowing that most viruses they can't do anything for, but after not getting better, I knew it had to be something other than the flu or covid and i didn't even I had been bitten by a deer tick, but I did have several of them crawling on me at different times I hadn't thought much of. That took some time to recover from and then my husband's job unexpected was off work for a while, so he ended up going to a different company putting in natural gas, so there has been alot of change around here. My 15 year old started working in the spring as a phenomenal sourdough bakery that just opened up and she still needs rides, so glad it is only 15 minutes away and our other daughter is working in a kitchen at a resort, so they have been busy girls between working, sports, 2 large lawns they mow and numerous church camps. It was just very different to not see them as much, but I am thankful to have such responsible kids. We have seen God's hand in all the hard things this summer and after testing instagram again for a couple months, my business grew really fast, so I'm working on creating more content to save you money and if you have not already, make sure you are following @claimingsimplicity on instagram. I actually niched down to talking about cooking from scratch and how to cook dinners once a week for under &75 because that is what you wanted more of, so I'm slowly but surely working on some products around grandkids, kids, farm and all the fun that summer brings! Now that we will get back to a semi normal routine, I hope to be back here weekly! As always, please reach out with any topics or questions you have! God Bless you! Have a fantastic week! Monica

Zach and Al are willing to humor Jase's claims that we've all missed the boat on John 11 after a revelation during a late-night Bible study session. Jase does everything short of a backflip to entertain his grandkids, but his heroic efforts land him in pain—and his attempt to stretch it out in the studio leaves the crew rattled. Finally moving on to John 7, the guys unpack the only Gospel account of Jesus' brothers, their early skepticism, and what their eventual transformation into believers reveals about the truth of the resurrection. Plus, Al's son-in-law and fellow Duckman Jay Stone steps in to save a smoky situation, and the guys reflect on humanity's nature of secrecy and sneakiness.
