One of the Star Wars spin-off stories, ANDOR, is not for the young. It is for the adults and is more of what Star Wars is supposed to be - rebels fighting Space Nazis. The woke Star Wars writers and the constant use of "Nazi" to describe people we don't like is a reason this has happened. When we do this, we forget who the real agents of tyranny are. This says a lot when a story that has shaped our culture turns on its head and is now somehow divided in favor of a fascist, albeit fictional, government. Yes, America can be seen as "A Star Wars Story," a revelation of the method in times where we forget how easy it is to tolerate the acts of global killers just because they wear the right suit or tie. Tonight on Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis (7-10 pm, pacific time on groundzeroplus.com). Call in to the live show: 503-225-0860. #groundzeroplus #clydelewis #starwars #andor #woke
With the final season of Andor being released, we're going to the film that introduced us to Cassian, 2016's Rogue One. From Star Wars Celebration, we unpack why Andor has become a breakout favorite—not just among fans, but among creators too. This isn't your typical Star Wars tale. It's grounded. It's gritty. And it's full of slow-burn tension that pays off in major ways. Interviews include Diego Luna, Denise Gough, Genevieve O'Reilly , and more of the cast. Plus showrunner Tony Gilroy gives his thoughts on the experience. Start Your Free One Year Trial At Sci-Fi Talk Plus

For Star Wars spin-off Solo: A Star Wars Story, it wasn't supposed to be like this. Infamously, 90 days into photography, parent company Lucasfilm opted for a director change. Out when Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, and in came Ron Howard. And Howard had less than year to retool the movie, and shoot a whole lot of new footage. It remains one of the most infamous Film Stories of the 2010s. For the second half of the episode, Simon is joined by filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo, for a long chat about their career, their new film - The Electric State - and a strange film magazine of the 1970s...
Rivka and Frank are joined by Will, a US Army veteran and member of the organization About Face: Veterans Against the War, to discuss the 2016 Star Wars standalone movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The group discusses the film's themes around imperialism, war, revolution, radicalism, and what it means to compromise one's morals for the sake of the “greater good.” They also ask the important question: what the hell was Forest Whitaker thinking? About Face: Veterans Against the War For next week's movie, we'll be watching the 1989 “Weird Al” Yankovic comedy UHF.
We take a ride to a galaxy far, far away to eat sushi and talk about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Is this the best Star Wars movie? We think it is. It has everything from a smart-assed droid to a non-Jedi blind guy. A couple of CGI cameos and misplaced droids brings it down, but just like the Death Star nothing's perfect. The prequel that nobody asked for delivers the hope for the Star Wars universe that we all need.
The biggest story in Star Wars in 2024 was the story of The Acolyte. It was the highest profile content Lucasfilm released, but it was so much more than that. It reflected the state of Star Wars fandom, served as an example of streaming economics, and show us what we have to look forward to over the next decade of Star Wars storytelling. Punch it! Próximo programa: What We Do In The Shadows (T6) / Star Trek - Lower Decks (T5).

As we gear up for our coverage of Season 1 of Andor, we thought we'd stop by the film that started it all first-- 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We discuss our feelings for the film when we first saw it in theaters and how, as we've grown, our opinions have changed over time. We also touch on real life connections to the movie, controversies, and why the film is just as important today as the day it was released. It's a political movie. And this is a political episode. In true Jedi Talk fashion, a Top 10 gets trimmed to a Top 5 mid show thanks to ADHD, triggering Evan with Dinoland, and a troll from Illinois. We chat about a wide variety of topics in the beginning including Hurricane Helene and Evan almost getting walked off of Dinosaur. Tune in to find out how Tom got sick of Evan's nonsense concerning Andor during this episode. @jeditalkpodcast on IG youtube.com/jeditalk
We're delighted to welcome Steve Denny as this month's special guest interviewee with Rich. Steve is a legend in collecting circles, one of the old school, in the game right from the start, and he has some great tales to tell. Rich poses an interesting question in this month's intro - what period of collecting would you go back to, but you can't bring anything back - and strictly no cheating! Elsewhere the lads rattle through their latest finds, and puzzle over a cardbacks quiz. There's the last ever Action Vehicle Face-Off (no cheering at the back there) and some great new acquisitions, ranging from an old bed headboard to a chintzy Darth Vader costume from Canada. In Rebel Briefings there's another insight into figure production with Chris Fawcett, and a look at a record breaking Rocket Fett, whether the case is now closed on grey limbed Snowtroopers, a cloning controversy, Palitoy factory photos and comic capers with Star Wars Weekly. Licensee this month is Bunch Books and Paradise Press, as we take a look into poster magazines, Special Collectors Editions, and more. Of course there's plenty of the usual bollux and banter along the way, look out for the podcast in all the usual places.
