It's the end of an era for one Devil this month, and that's before we've even moved onto the main theme of Dario Argento. 12 of his movies are dissected in forensic detail by the internet's most serious horror podcasters. Or whatever it is we do. You know the drill, it's just a load of pissing about and being naughty chumps, still somehow possessed by the legend of the Suburban Sasquatch. WARNING: This episode contains a teeny spoiler for Saw X.

After three long years we're free! TIME TO CONQUER EARTH! Yes - improbably - it's the return of No-Budget Nightmares! Since March, 2020 the podcast has been laying in wait, but we're back to insert ourselves once again into the overcrowded world of low-budget film podcastery! All your favorites are back: Moe! Doug! Yawning! Creaky chair sounds! Audio clips! Too-long run times! And we've returned with a BANG, covering Anthony Polonia's kaiju (or is that kiaju?) comedy ZILLAFOOT from (the year of our lord) 2019. With a sub-Suburban Sasquatch monster suit and an ending that threatens to break Moe's brain, it has everything you could want out of a NBN subject. Listen and tell your friends, you FIENDS!

Today on Too Opinionated, we talk with writer/director Dave Wascavage ahead of the Blu-Ray release of Suburban Sasquatch! Perhaps the most beloved and recognizable shot on video movie of the last two decades, Dave Wascavage's cult classic sees its first time ever release on Blu-ray and is packed with bonus features, including the full RIFFTRAX episode of the movie! When a giant blood-thirsty Bigfoot goes on a killing spree in a sprawling suburban park area, it's up to a couple of park rangers, a reporter and a mystical Native-American Warrior to try and stop Sasquatch's limb-ripping rampage. It's been a very long time, but we're baaaaaaaack! As suburbia encroaches on nature, nature fights back by having Bigfoot encroach on suburbia and exact bloody revenge on all who dare be alive. Meanwhile bumbling cops investigate the murders, while a Native American goes on a spirit quest to destroy Sasquatch and an aspiring reporter looks for god, love, and a "poolitzer" --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
If you love 2D rendered special effects, the re-use of rubber severed limbs, watching as a stuffed animal is torn apart or a gorilla suit posing as a Sasquatch costume, then you'll love this gem we found in the garbage. Tune in to hear the highlights, or just watch it on Tubi with commercials. You'll need those breaks in between the insanity.

Let's talk tax evasion instead of movies. You know how any number of actors or musicians have tried to avoid taxes by not paying them? The director of today's film decided to skip that and just give up his US citizenship. So we have Terry Gilliam's Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus[2009]. It's a story about an ancient monk who's made deals with the devil throughout the ages. Culminating in him having one go at mortality and having to pay the devil with his daughter. It's a lot of wild imagery and works well around the death of Heath Ledger who was to be the protagonist. Tim has Suburban Sasquatch[2004]. You know how independent films are … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 148: Black Face"

Check out his Soundcloud.Gabe and Matt dive deep into the mind of Charlie Kaufman and attempt to make meaning of his latest film I'm Thinking of Ending Things, not sponsored by Dairy Queen. Along the way, they stumble their way through how Mulan the Movie is having a direct negative effect on Hong Kong, they get demonetized and banned in China for... well, obvious reasons, Matt is wrong in most of the assumptions he makes, how movie theaters can make a killing on concessions by appealing to people's need to not wear a mask, the evolution of expensive food, a very strange tangent about Pauline Kael, the crazy theories around The Shining, how Gabe knows more about the flag physics of the moon than Matt, and the Roger Ebert video-games-as-art controversy.Referenced:Don't Look NowBattles Without Honor and HumanitySuburban SasquatchHeatThe TownBill and Ted Face the MusicPauline KaelThe waving US Flag on the moonAd Astra

This week, our digitized pop culture heroes dissect the new Reboot reboot trailer, the behind-the-scenes Power Rangers shake-up, Joss Whedon leaving Batgirl, the return of Szechuan Sauce (... again?), as well as reviews of Them's Fightin' Herds, Suburban Sasquatch, Black Panther (barely), Josh's Savages Worlds RPG game, and Poptarts. The song this week is 'Margaritaville' by Jimmy Buffett.
BattleCougar and The Son of Celluloid are joined by our very first celebrity guest host, Ryan Cadaver of The Casket Creatures, to talk about the 2004 monster flick, Suburban Sasquatch. There's cryptoid boobs, rawdogging moms, hairy dongs, and no one is wearing a damn belt. Have we talked about the cops yet? This one gets weird! Huge thanks to Ryan Cadaver for watching this mess with us and be sure to check out The Casket Creatures (facebook, IG, Twitter)! New Album coming very soon! This week we go back to our roots with a truly low-budget (but high entertainment) movie in the vein of Birdemic and Elves. It's Bigfoot like you've never seen him before…or wanted to. Also we chat about our favorite Harry Potter movies, and Joe slowly dies of emphasema.
On this episode we discuss not one, but two, bigfoot movies. Suburban Sasquatch and The Legend of Boggy Creek. One is considered good and one is considered awful. Join us as we laugh and have a blast talking about these movies and more. Jonathan, Paul, and newcomer Jenn chat about Troubled Moon Productions film "Suburban Sasquatch" directed by Dave Wascavage.
The MARCH TO 100 continues with a return visit to the works of auteur DAVE WASCAVAGE, the director of NO-BUDGET NIGHTMARES classics SUBURBAN SASQUATCH, FUNGICIDE and MALEVOLENT ASCENT! This time Moe and Doug delve into the long-awaited TARTARUS and get terrorized by the film’s vision of a CG hell full of TURD TABLES, terrifying OTTOMANS, and more UFOs than you can shake a stick at. It’s a MESS and WE LOVE IT! GIVE THE KIDS A COUPLE OF BUCKS AND TELL THEM TO STAY OUT LATE! It’s NO-BUDGET NIGHTMARES and IT’S ALL GOOD! Want more of this goodness (and some fine perks)? It’s a Wascavage FAMILY AFFAIR! That’s right! From the creator of SUBURBAN SASQUATCH and MALEVOLENT ASCENT comes FUNGICIDE, a “special”-effects packed horror comedy that’s fun(?!) for the whole family! If you thought the effects in SS were something, you ain’t seen NOTHING yet. We have puppets. We have paper mache heads. We have PEOPLE IN MUSHROOM COSTUMES. We have computer wizardry! It’s enough to make Doug and Moe cry out in pain/delight. And it’s all here on Episode 58 of the No-Budget Nightmares podcast. There’s a FUNGUS AMONG US! Don’t have time to listen to the whole episode? FOR SHAME! But you can still listen to Roo’s amazing FUNGICIDE song! Want more of this goodness? Support No-Budget Nightmare on PATREON! Go ahead and check out NO-BUDGET NIGHTMARES on Facebook! You’ll be our best friend. Or check out Moe and Doug on Twitter! And head over to Daily Grindhouse for all of your horror/exploitation film writing needs.
No-Budget Nightmares is back! Back in black! Due to a certain host’s incompetence, we’ve had to call an audible this week and feature another film by SUBURBAN SASQUATCH auteur Dave Wascavage. But this glaring error turns out to be a BEAUTIFUL GIFT as we’re treated to a glorious cavalcade of incompetence, green screen-a-plenty and more stilted, awkward acting than you can shake a Sasquatch at. It’s ELEVATOR-A-GO-GO in 2010′s MALEVOLENT ASCENT and you can actually hear the point in the episode where Moe’s brain snaps in two. It’s all a bit sloppy, but that’s to be expected. BLESS THIS MESS.
OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS OVER! No-Budget Nightmares returns with its 30th episode anniversary spectacular, and you’ve never heard ANYTHING like it. We have listener mail, recorded messages from some of our favorite film-makers, interviews with Oliver Assiran & Les Norris (directors of GORNO: AN AMERICAN TRAGEDY), David Sitbon (who appeared in SUBURBAN SASQUATCH and ANTFARM DICKHOLE), Jim Bultas (director of ROCK N’ ROLL SPACE PATROL ACTION IS GO) and Deric Bernier (who appeared in NIGHTMARE ASYLUM and ZOMBIE RAMPAGE) and hosts Moe Porne and Doug Tilley go over their favorite and least favorite moments and films. Stay tuned for some SPECIAL SONGS, and surprises! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!
I’ve seen fire, and I’ve seen rain, and I’ve seen a Sasquatch with drawn-on abs and big ol’ boobs! That’s right, this week on NO-BUDGET NIGHTMARES is the modern low-budget classic SUBURBAN SASQUATCH from director Dave Wascavage! COWER in terror as Bigfoot severs limbs, drinks blood and growls confusingly. We love it, and you’ll love it too!
