There is a specific kind of weight that no leadership book prepares you for. Not the weight of hard decisions, though those are real. Not the weight of difficult people, though those exist too. The weight of what you cannot say. The personnel decision in process. The organizational uncertainty not yet public. The confidence placed in you by someone who trusted you with something significant. Your own private fear that you might not be enough for the role — the one you cannot voice to the people who are counting on you to be certain. For twenty-five years, multiple LAPD chiefs kept the Grim Sleeper a secret while Franklin continued killing. Documentary "If You Tell Anyone"-The Brett Allan Show If You Tell Anyone… is a Documentary written and produced by Norman Fried, PhD; Nathan Spiteri, and Dean Love.   This film is based on the true-life story of Australian born author/actor Nathan Spiteri, adapted from his memoir Toy Cars; One Man's Journey from Trauma to Triumph. Raped at the age of 8 years old by a man in a public locker room, Nathan endured five years of repeated abuse. His abuser kept him quiet by telling him… “If you tell anyone, I'll kill you and I'll kill your whole family.” As in all abusive relationships, Nathan was groomed and manipulated to believe that what was happening to him was his own fault.  Nathan was unable to tell anyone about what had happened to him for 25 years. As a result, his adult life spiraled into addictions to alcohol, drugs and sex. He became suicidal before finally breaking down and telling someone what had happened to him.   Nathan is now able to tell his story through the artistic structure of this documentary. The film explores the arch of transformation that young Nathan underwent as he discovered a more redemptive way of living and healing. The book is a true story full of twists and turns, but it is not the whole story. It never could be. The “twists” are secrets and the “turns” are fateful choices. The characters struggle with confession, contrition, and forgiveness. They seek happiness, disrupted by unexpected pregnancies, and altered lives. This tale weaves together the secrets of the author, birth parents, adoptive parents, and their families to reveal the delicate and emotional parts of the whole. In this book, the nutshell is cracked, and secrets spill out. Some parts are myth, which serve as lessons; other parts are a quest for identity and treasured memories of heartfelt acceptance. The author found the process of unraveling truth from long-held secrets and uncovering two unknown biological family histories overwhelming.
