Originally lead guitarist/singer/songwriter with the early 80s NY punk band Tension Envelopes, Tim Byrnes played CBGBs about a minute after it meant anything. He then moved to Colorado in a successful attempt to get sober, then spent time in Flashback, a classic rock and country band for about 10 years. After reuniting with the Tension Envelopes many years later, Tim decided to start writing again. Since then, he's released several DIY solo albums, resulting in the new compilation “Elektra” available on iTunes, Spotify, and other streaming sites. Splitting time between fully orchestrated recordings and stripped down acoustic live performances, Tim Byrne's lo-fi literate punk will make you think and make you think about starting your own band.Dave sat down with Tim to talk about the early 80s punk scene in New York, how dark songs can make you feel better, ancient critics of Homer, and the musical side of minimum wage. It's another raw and riveting discussion about songwriting! For more music, check out https://soundcloud.com/timbyrnes
On episode 15 of "Enjoying the Journey", we had such an amazing time catching up with professional skateboarder and friend of RISE Ministries, Tim Byrne! Tim is an Urban Missionary/ Pastor and Itinerant Evangelist under the leadership of the original Skatechurch in Portland, Oregon. As a Pro Skateboarder since the early 2000's, Tim has used his skating to reach hundreds of thousands with the Gospel. His mission is one that speaks to us so much: sharing the good news of Jesus, and discipling those that are often overlooked in our culture. Tim does this each week through his role at Skatechurch, and by partnering with numerous ministries all over the globe. It was so amazing not only for Rob and Tim to recall their time traveling together, but to learn more about Tim's passion and outreach in the Portland area. Tim explains what "Skatechurch" is and its role in the community, what it's like to preach the gospel in tough neighborhoods that are often overlooked, and explains how he reaches out to a population that often feels excluded by the church. We hope you enjoy today's episode, and are so glad you are here!!!

I've seen huge growth year over year. I’m incredibly fortunate but that growth comes at a cost. Any business that encounters explosive growth can begin to outgrow their cash flow. My rule of thumb is that once you start growing above 20% you run a real risk of hitting a sh crunch. Most sole proprietors make up for that deficit by cutting their own paycheque. I’m joined once again this week by Doug Macy, owner of Trust1 Security. Together we discuss the best strategies for dealing with growth. Doug and I discuss how to manage your accounts receivable to ensure that you don’t grow yourself out of business. __________________ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/timbyrnealmostlive TWITTER: https://twitter.com/timbyrnealmost FACEBOOK: http://www.Facebook.com/TimByrneAlmostLive
