Nest siste uke i Ingebrigtsen-saken.

In this episode of "Running: State of the Sport," Lisa Weidenbach Rainsberger reflects on her Boston Marathon win 40 years ago in 1985. She also traces the amazing arc of her running career from All American swimmer to college track star to youthful marathon standout.Lisa is widely known for her three consecutive fourth-place finishes in the Olympic Trials Marathon, but she doesn't shed any tears over these disappointments. Instead, she celebrates the many positive aspects of her long racing and coaching career. She also discusses how she and her daughter, Katie, negotiated a healthy mother-daughter, coach-athlete relationship. This is a big story in running now, due to the highly publicized Ingebrigtsen family lawsuit in Norway. Some highlights moments in the podcast00:00Celebrating a Marathon Legend10:00Lisa's Journey: From Swimming to Running13:20The Boston Marathon Experience16:13Olympic Trials and Career Highlights19:02Transitioning from Swimming to Running22:20Coaching Insights and Modern Training25:04The Evolution of Running Technology28:04Reflections on Female Sports and Future Aspirations51:07Lisa Rainsberger: A Journey Through Running53:21Coaching Dynamics: The Parent-Child Relationship in Sports56:13WHERE TO FIND "RUNNING: STATE OF THE SPORT"Use your smartphone to download podcast apps from Apple, Spotify, Pandora, or YouTube Podcasts.

Henrik Them, løbeekspert og tidligere langdistanceløber.

While Josh's dad is his main collaborator when it comes to training, his current work with coach Justin Rinaldi–who leads the Fast8 Track Club–is bearing immediate dividends. In today's conversation, Josh takes me through his mindset, why he has much bigger things on his mind than what he's accomplished so far in 2025, what he wants to do on the World Stage, the state of the US Men's 800m, why his faith is so important to him and much more. This conversation was excellent in its ability to dive-deep into one of the biggest up-and-coming runners in the world. Tap into the Josh Hoey Special. Editor's note: Des and Kara will blame me for this episode, while I would like to take credit. You be the judge! The overview of this episode is pretty straightforward. Des and Kara catch up on their lives as usual... they preview a few Olympic events... they answer some questions from a friendship/partner Q&A and then finish with another Olipop Top 5. Simple enough and yet oh so good. You don't want to miss this one! Some early content teasers: Team Pasta and/or Team Past (thank you Barilla)! Des's ideal birthday and birthday gift (Sorry Ryan... Des wants her own boat!). The potential chaos of the Olympic marathon route. Kerr, Ingebrigtsen or... Hocker? A reason for Kara to streak in the Olympic stadium? Fearing Kipyegon no more? The Hassan quadruple? And then for the good part, where Des and Kara answer questions from a NY Times Q&A called... "The 36 Questions That Lead to Love." As introverts, they are uncomfortable with it, but they dive in reluctantly anyway and we learn so much... The questions are part fun, part deep, and occasionally dark. They are two friends who are more likely to sing to themselves than give anyone a call, and we love them for it. Enjoy learning new things about Des and Kara!
