“I'm just letting you know; I was holding back…it may get worse…” TITLE TRACKS are not always the ultra-obvious, one trick pony they'd seem to be. Sometimes it IS ultra-obvious and is smack dab in the middle of the chorus where it belongs, sometimes only one of the words might be included in the chorus, and still other times “the chorus is not explicitly mentioned” anywhere within the title track at all. As you can tell, the rules regarding TITLE TRACKS are often “unburdened by what has been” particularly when factoring in all the confusing rules and conditions that seem to be a part of the burdensome phenomenon known as TITLE TRACKS. But while everything that preceded this sentence may not make any logical sense to a logical person with a logically functioning mind, it's nothing that we can't power through and figure out by working together. Get ready for a “spicy release” and prepare for “a little heat tingle…from the backside” when you JOIN US in a collective assessment of “what can be” with Metal TITLE TRACKS. Hi guys! Super short episode today! In this episode, Tasha and I go over the title tracks and talk about what we think of them, how well they represent the albums, and pick which songs we would have chosen otherwise! Thank you for listening!
Following last week's emotional bombshell, Craig Fitzpatrick and Dave Hanratty commit to a difficult future by refusing to share the same physical space – that's right, it's a Zoom-based episode. Unavoidable logistical circumstances or something more sinister? Who can say?In any event, there's a lot to discuss this week. We've got respective cinema outings. We've got the musical element of the Super Bowl. We've got Matty Healy's mission to get cancelled by his own loyal stan-base. And we've got some superb music for our latest Top 5 face-off. Meanwhile, we want to hear from YOU about the future of this very show. Feel free to drop a mail to noencoreshow@gmail.com with any and all feedback, which is very much welcome. And we're over on patreon.com/noencore if you can support what we do.ACT ONE: It's the preamble in which we ramble – Craig reflects on his announcement and reports back from a romantic cinema jaunt. Dave, meanwhile, had some notable big-screen experiences of his own. ACT TWO (21:24): A busy news section takes in the sad passing of De La Soul icon Trugoy The Dove, Rihanna's date with the Super Bowl, U2's upcoming Las Vegas-set Larry Mullen-less endeavour, and Matty Healy podcast anxiety.ACT THREE (1:01:19): Top 5 Title Tracks. Welcome back to our 2nd End of Year Award Series!!! In this episode we have decided that we needed to stress ourselves YET AGAIN and rank our favourite 2022 Title Tracks! Each of us chose 10 Title Tracks from this year (even tho ONE OF US COULDNT EVEN DO THAT) and wow what a stressful thing that was :) And OF COURSE some of our choices were extremely predictable you already know what's coming :') At the end we added an extra Category cause as if 20 songs wasnt enough, and that is KPOP Korner's Top 3 Title tracks! (mainly cause our choices clashed so much lol) PS - this was recorded on Sat Dec 3rd hence the Korea Match reference haha Thank you for listening as always
Top Ten Title Tracks is such the least brainy of all the no-brainer topics, it's a wonder it took us 11 years to consider it. The Old Boy Himself, the beloved Ryan Blake is back for part 2 of our ridiculous conversation and sublime playlist. As we know, title tracks have an added weight of importance and epicness, because we know the bands and artists behind these songs thought enough of them that they decided to name the album the same. Only the best of the absolute best qualify!Ryan's got an album out for your streaming ears to hear. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out this topic. Top Ten Title Tracks is about as basic as you can get, but still a fascinating topic featuring songs that belong in the musical stratosphere. We're talking the cream of the crop, people. When a great artist or band decides to name an album after a song on that album, you know it's best of the best material every time. The Old Boy Himself Ryan Blake returns for another go-at-it in SS Blakey Studios, deep in the heart of Long Beach. The vibes are relaxed but ridiculous as we take down yet another of the great musical topics of all time.Ryan's got an album out for your streaming ears to hear. Back at full strength, the guys talk about album title tracks that did the best commercially, and why there's so few that are the best-performing off their album.
This week, the guys discuss bands that re-recorded their music. They talk about the good, the bad and the why bands re-record their music and offer their thoughts on the results. They also introduce a new segment called "What Should You Be Listening To", a segment about an album or song that may have been overlooked but is worth giving a spin. This week's Big 4 is the Big 4 Title Tracks. Listen to hear which ones Kenneth Dean and Chris Kaye chose as their Big 4. So sit back, relax, crack open a cold one and let the debate begin.
Special guest Kyle Sullivan joins the gang for an unexpected and impromptu journey deeper into Title Track territory. Could be these songs weren’t good enough. Or perhaps they weren’t quite bad enough. Or maybe they just weren’t genuine enough for Parts 1 and 2. Whatever the case may be, songs from Prom Night, Transylvania 6-5000, Hellraiser 3, Happy Birthday to Me and many more will get the chance to plead their case when Shindig Radio reaches back into the bag... For A Few Title Tracks More.
Last Episode you heard the poor craftsmanship and poorer audio quality from the ugliest Title Tracks Halloween Shindig has to offer. Now, the gang is back to walk you through the best Title Tracks in Horror History. Join Graham C. Schofield, Don Dokken, Joey Ramone, Mikey Rotella, J. Geils and all the Dudes of Wrath for an evening of top shelf Horror hits! It's Title Tracks Pt. 2: The Good!
Join Graham C. Schofield and Mikey Rotella as they explore the dark side of Halloween Shindig's most celebrated Sub-Category: The Title Track. Some of the greatest songs on the Playlist are Title Tracks, but you won't be hearing any of those on Part 1. Nope. Prepare to pay your dues with unfortunate tunes from the likes of Hauntedween, Ghost Fever and Scream Dream, before basking in the light of Part 2's certified gold. It's a night of crud, duds and CHUDS on Shindig Radio!

In the 16th Installment of "Talkin' Bob Dylan", Andy & Renee discuss Dylanesque songwriting through the lense of both homage and parody. In the parody camp, the duo yuks it up while listening to "Arms Disguised As Legs" by Steve Della Maggoria, a wonderful artist from Napa, CA. Then Andy & Renee move into the homage realm with "Blood on the (Title) Tracks" by The Title Trackers.
Today we welcome John Davis from Q and Not U and Title Tracks. John and I talk about his new Title Tracks album, discuss the Washington DC scene and some of his favorite bands from the late 90s. Also, I find out about the amazing job John has at University Maryland as an archivist. One amazing project we talk about is archiving Ian MacKaye’s enormous fanzine collection. John has a wealth of knowledge and insight into favorite time from the emo era and he was generous enough to share it. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/washedupemo)
