Whoopsie-daisy! We had a bit of a technical snafu that prevented us from recording our promised discussion of Star Trek: The Original Series' "Tomorrow Is Yesterday", so instead this week we are providing you with two of our favorite Patreon episodes free of charge! To start of the entertainment, Dan and Patrick must endure wicked challenges and sudden shifts in fortune in the inaugural episode of "Jesse's Questions" followed by Patrick directing a sinister A.I. to produce bespoke music live on air in response to prompts from Dan and Jesse. We apologize for the delay in our discussion of "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" but we assure you with all our hearts that you will very much enjoy this substitute presentation. Very much! Next week: Kirk and Company travel back in time only to realize that "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" - for real this time! Note that this and all episodes of the It's Got Star Trek podcast contain explicit language and, frankly, an unnecessary amount of offensive content, so the show is intended only for adults and really really cool kids. Captain Archer again finds himself fooled by a tricksy lady. Join your slightly-skeeved-out hosts as they discuss a solidly entertaining episode that is marred by cavalier and under-examined representations of assault and a very strong orientation towards the male gaze. Yes folks, this episode is horny - horny horny horny! Spoiler warning! We dive right into a detail-rich discussion of this episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, so if you haven't had a chance to see it yet – beware! OH NO, DEAR. The Enterprise is thrown through time back to the groovy 60s and in order for Kirk & co. to escape that predicament they'll need to help of a pilot who couldn't make it into the space program and who has, apparently, never seen a woman in the workplace before. We conclude our Star Trek Predicts... Today! theme month by looking at an accidental time travel story that Bryan accidentally put in the schedule. Is this season one episode a TREK, MARRY, or KILL? The grades begin at (15:38).
Friends summer is here and that means one thing: reruns! Wait, you don't watch regular old broadcast TV anymore? Well, then how do you get your reruns?! Ah, yes, streaming. This month, we've grabbed hold of our Paramount+ subscriptions, fired up the old boob tube, and watched an episode of the original Star Trek series in which the crew of the Enterprise accidentally abduct two humans from Earth 1969 and then have to figure out how to get them back and the whole ship back to the 23rd century! Why is this important? Because we strongly feel that two UFO encounters probably influenced the storyline of this episode!

A black star flings the Enterprise back to 1969, where they snag an air force captain named Christopher, and get sultry with the computer. Naturally, Damo and Mick are gonna talk about it, in this episode with added hangovers! Klingon jokes, Shatner's fighting, getting the "jab", it's all entirely logical. Don't question it too much.
We're hurled deep into the past, maman -- and find ourselves in 1969 being pursued by a fighter pilot named captain John Christopher of the United States Air Force! In this episode of Trekking Through Compliance, we consider the episode Tomorrow is Yesterday which aired on January 26, 1967, Star Date 3113.2. The USS Enterprise is thrown back in time to Earth during the 1960s by the effects of a high gravity "black star". Enterprise ends up in Earth's upper atmosphere and is picked up as a UFO on military radar and is photographed by a USAF jet. Fearing the pilot could disrupt the timeline if returned to Earth, Kirk at first decides that the pilot must stay with the Enterprise. After learning of the existence of film taken of the Enterprise by Christopher's wing cameras, Kirk and Sulu beam down to the airbase to recover the film and any other evidence of their visit. After they return to the ship, Spock and Chief Engineer Scott inform Kirk of a possible escape method by slingshotting around the Sun to break away and return to their time. Kirk okays the maneuver, and time on board the Enterprise moves backwards. The Enterprise then successfully returns to the 23rd century. Vicky was right but it's not a different dimension
Star Trek TOS S1E21 Tomorrow Is Yesterday
A freak accident sends the Enterprise hurtling through space and back in time to Earth in the late 1960s, where it is detected and classified by the U.S. military as an Unidentified Flying Object. Complicating matters further, Captain Kirk is forced to beam aboard an Air Force pilot named John Christopher, whose duty it will be to report everything he is now seeing about this vast starship from the future. Kirk and Spock must figure out a way to return the Enterprise to its own time, but not before they must return Captain Christopher to Earth without jeopardizing the history of the future. With the stakes so very high, it's remarkable how much levity is featured in "Tomorrow is Yesterday," the second Original Series teleplay written by Dorothy "D.C." Fontana. The result is "Star Trek's" first full-on comedy, and it's a delightful episode, but the humor never comes at the expense of the quality, the high drama and the superb performances that had come to represent the series at its finest. In this series I am joined by Astrophysicist and Healthcare Futurist Ben Locwin. In this podcast we consider the TOS episode Tomorrow is Yesterday as a starting point for the consideration of the science around black holes, white holes, and wormholes. In this episode, USS Enterprise is thrown back in time to Earth during the 1960s by the effects of a high-gravity "black star". The Enterprise ends up in Earth's upper atmosphere and is picked up as a UFO on military radar. Spock and Chief Engineer Scott inform Kirk of a possible escape method by slingshotting around the Sun to break away and return to their time. The maneuver is risky, since even a small miscalculation could destroy the ship, or make them miss their own era. Kirk okays the maneuver, and time on board the Enterprise moves backwards. The Enterprise is then successfully returned to the 23rd century. Highlights include: Is a black star the same thing as a black hole? How does a white star become a black star? What is the Quality Exclusion Principle and how does it apply? What is the Chronology Protection and how does it work?
Daryl Bar, host of Sudden Double Deep and new Podcast, Is Paul Dano Ok? returns to Spocklight to tell us why he, controversially, considers ‘Tomorrow is Yesterday’ to be the finest time travel episode of Star Trek. Daryl tells us how the oddball humour of the episode delights him, Liam questions the quality of replicator grub, Paul points out Kirk’s hypocritical attitude towards Major Christopher’s backward views and Matt notes the similarities with a certain Futurama episode. We also discuss the surprising darkness of the episode, compare it to other time travel based Trek tales and examine how the pre-titles sequence must have wrong footed the contemporary audience. TOMORROW IS YESTERDAY: Another beloved first, classic season episode. It starts off a little confusing in the 1960s version of “present day” and then suddenly the Enterprise is flying through a blue sky and being detected on an Air Force base’s radar… and then sling-shotted into a time travel trip with all the uncertainties and paradoxes and past-changing dilemmas we love about such stories. A jet pilot from the 60s is accidentally brought aboard the USS Enterprise where it becomes clear that he can never go back to his own time or his own family… unless the crew can come up with a way to bypass the butterfly effect and fix the mounting problems they trigger just by being trapped in the past. It’s another episode that hits all the right notes, and is full of memorable moments, some funny stuff and lots of great character development. And some classic “Kirk Fu” fight choreography. Mark is on shore leave, so alternate time Mark (the Mark known as Maddox) is our special guest for this fun one.Written by D. C. Fontana and directed by Michael O'Herlihy.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CinemondoPodcast)

This week Carrie and Sarah get mad that once again the crew has discovered and navigated time travel like, no problem, but that doesn't seem to matter. Nothing matters actually, but at least we don't need a trigger warning! YAY!
In this chaotic episode Lucinda and Ellie give two friend shoutouts, go on a couple of tangents, and try and wrap their heads around this complicated episode.
Tomorrow is Yesterday was the nineteenth episode of Star Trek's debut season to air, with the Enterprise trapped in the past and some unfortunate airmen getting more than a glimpse of the future. In this episode Gerry and Iain discuss time paradoxes and before that they discuss the outcome of that conversation. Escaping a black hole, the Enterprise is thrown back in time to the 20th century where they inadvertently pick up Captain Christopher (Roger Perry) and later an Air Police Sergeant (Hal Lynch). Attempting to extricate themselves from the situation, Kirk and Sulu visit the air base, where the captain is captured by Col. Fellini (Ed Peck). A rescue follows before Spock devises a plan to restore the timeline and return the two visitors to their former lives without any damage caused. Tomorrow is Yesterday was directed by Michael O'Herlihy, the his only Star Trek episode. The writer was DC Fontana, a Star Trek legend. In this episode Gerry and Iain considered what the point of staging a daring ground mission was when you intended to reset time all along. The discussion continues in the comments below and please keep in touch with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram where we're @trekpodcast. You can listen to the show here on the website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Pocket Casts, TuneIn, Stitcher, Google or wherever you find your podcasts. Tomorrow is Yesterday was released in 1967. It is 50 minutes long and originally aired on the NBC network. It can be viewed on CBS All Access in the United states, Netflix in the UK and is available on DVD and Blu Ray in other countries, including a comprehensive remastered set of all three seasons released by Paramount Home Entertainment.

Welcome to the Science of Star Trek, a podcast series inspired by my review of Star Trek, the Original Series in the summer podcast special series Trekking Through Compliance. Highlights include:Is a black star the same thing as a black hole? How does a white star become a black star? What is the Quality Exclusion Principle and how does it apply? What is the Chronology Protection and how does it work?
Welcome to our new arc: TIME TRAVEL! I mean, you get it, right? I don't have to explain it. Ok? Good. Anyway, the Enterprise is thrown back in time by a black hole or something and then they abduct a guy and it's all very silly, but then they send him home. Or actually they probably scatter his atoms on the sun but it doesn't matter because it will all have never happened.
In this episode of Trekking Through Compliance, we consider the episode Tomorrow is Yesterday which aired on January 26, 1967, Star Date 3113.2. Compliance Takeaways:Sometimes unexpected developments can cause higher risk. What is your investigation protocol? How do you onboard new employees on your corporate culture?
Welcome to Watchers of Tomorrow! A podcast where we go through the world of science fiction television episode by episode, talking about the themes, concepts, ideas, the good, the bad, and the weird. We are great fans of sci-fi and would like to invite you on our journey through the weird and strange worlds that we are to explore… Today’s episode: We get back to Earth and enjoy a bit of time travel to boot! Will the 1960s survive Star Trek? Or will the Enterprise be erased from history because they couldn't figure out how to edit themselves out of their own continuity? ====== Who are we? Lawrence M. Schoen, author, psychologist, and Klingon speaker, joins Scott to discuss TOS’s “Tomorrow is Yesterday” (S1E21). Topics include the Klingons (of course), the importance of the Original Series, and how you should probably just watch Yesterday’s Enterprise instead. Host Scott McNulty with Lawrence M. Schoen.
This week's episode is Tomorrow is Yesterday! A fun timey-wimey episode where the Enterprise, thanks to a Black Sun, is sent back to the 1960's. We discuss Black Suns, how our nuclear missiles were carried in the 60's,we get to talk some fun Time Travel science that is a bit questionable but also relate-able to Back to the Future 1 AND 2! And we talk about Disney's movie SMITH! This and more fun!

Listen in this week as the Warped crew gives their salute to our boys in purple. We react to an early attempt at TV time travel with predictably spotty results. Kirk and his crew attempt a few infiltration and stealth tests and perform at a 5th grade level; meanwhile, we reminisce about our time on the pleasure planet Gemini 4. On this month's adventure through the Nexus, the gang chats about two pretty excellent episodes of Trek, almost forcing a tie for the first time in show history! Star Trek: The Original Series review for S01E19, originally recorded on 5/24/2016.
In this podcast: The Star Trek franchise’s very first time-travel romp; sets the precedent for Trek’s mix of time travel and fish-out-of-water comedy; thoughts on why TOS’s long lasting narrative tropes need to be retired in the era of Star Trek: Discovery.
This episode has the Enterprise visit the 1960s, while the Skirts talk about all sorts of things, including PornHub and Communism, and the Cold War and so on...
On this mission, we explore Episode 20 of Star Trek: TOS, Tomorrow is Yesterday! When the U.S.S. Enterprise is thrown into a time warp, it ends up orbiting Earth in the 20th century. 26. Mai 1972.
It's All Been Trekked Before #26 TOS Season 1, Part 3 Review Barbara and Jimmy-Jerome catch up on the latest batch of episodes. It's All Been Trekked Before #22 TOS "Tomorrow Is Yesterday” Stephen and Jimmy-Jerome suffer through what may just be the worst episode of Star Trek ever. Although it contains the first time travel slingshot around the sun, the story is very inconsistent and makes no sense. The laws of physics and sense go out the window as the "Enterprise" tumbles back through time in "Tomorrow is Yesterday," while space law threatens to bring its full might down on Kirk in "Court Martial"! Also this week: a double helping of "hey it's that guy," corrupt Starfleet brass, and Spider-Man. It'll make sense...I mean, as much sense as we ever make. The City On the Edge of Forever. Nearly 50 years after it was written, “City” remains one of the most beloved of all Star Trek episodes. It's the first time travel story that most fans remember (sorry “Naked Time” and “Tomorrow Is Yesterday”) and made screwing with the past cool long before it became Star Trek's go-to trope. But, as a story that really lacks most of what makes TOS what it is, why does this story transcend time? In this episode of The Ready Room, we're joined by Phillip Gilfus, Andi VanderKolk, and Daniel Proulx to seek out the answer. We explore the premise, the time travel mechanism, soft-focus lighting, Edith Keeler's place in time, Kirk's dilemma, and what the story might have been like had it been set in Chicago—as Harlan Ellison originally wrote it. And, along the way, we find all the culture. Or at least most of it. In our news segment, we share our thoughts on Jonathan Frakes's recent comments about Star Trek not returning to television, and we remember the woman who, with her beehive hair and just eight appearances, helped define The Original Series. I mean, do you really expect us to spend time discussing the plot details of “Tomorrow Is Yesterday” and “Court Martial”? ...
