SAN ANGELO — Braeden Fuller of Floresville, the starting quarterback for the Angelo State University Rams football team, has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week for week 3 of the 2024 season. In the Rams' 21-0 road win over Western New Mexico on Sept. 21, Fuller accounted for all three ASU touchdowns. He passed for 222 yards and two touchdowns, completing 23 of 38 attempts with no interceptions. He was also the Rams' leading rusher with 81 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. The Rams have also won the Lone Star Conference tournament championship six times, including sweep­ing the competition in 2015, 2021, 2022, and while also winning in 2007 and 2012. The Rams have never had a losing season under Brooks and have compiled 40-plus wins in 10 seasons. He has coached 125 All-Lone Star Conference selections, 55 All-Region picks and 28 All-American selections. Each day between two and three thousand people arrive in Santiago, Spain as pilgrims. This past summer, Kevin and Shelly Huddleston were two among that number on July 13 as they along with a small group of friends completed a 14-day walk on the Camino de Santiago. In this episode, we talk the two of them about their pilgrimage experience—about how they were formed by daily prayer, an expanding understanding of community, and the expected and surprising presence of God. Kevin & Shelly Huddleston have been in ministry together for over 35 years. They spent 30 years in congregational ministry and now Kevin is the Director of Ministries for Arms of Hope, a Christian care organization that cares for children and single moms with families. He has a Bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University, a Masters degree in Missional Leadership from Rochester University and a Doctorate in Spiritual Formation from Lipscomb University. His doctoral emphasis is on Sabbath and the Mission of God. Shelly is an assistant superintendent with the San Angelo Independent School District where she has worked for the past 28 years and holds a Bachelors in Communication from ACU and a Masters in Education from Angelo State. Both Kevin and Shelly are certified Spiritual Directors. Three sub-FBS programs in Texas were alive to start December with Incarnate Word, Angelo State, and Mary Hardin-Baylor in their respective playoff races. Cory Hogue and Mike Craven discuss the wins by UIW and UMHB, while looking back on an excellent season by Angelo State. They also preview upcoming playoff games for the Cardinals and the Cru as both programs inch closer to a national title and coaching candidates in the mix to replace G.J. Kinne at UIW.

Playoffs are in full-force at the sub-FBS level and each division features a Texas team vying for a national title. Cory Hogue and Mike Craven discuss Mary Hardin-Baylor’s second round win over Trinity in Division III. They also look at Angelo State’s big win at the Division II level, as well as this weekend’s FCS playoff matchup between Incarnate Word and Furman. The crew also discuss head coaching possibilities for UT-RGV, which include David Bailiff and Mike Salinas.
