Thursday Thoughts: Adding Value to Others In this episode of Thursday Thoughts, Chris Honeycutt, a pastor and John Maxwell coach, delves into the principle of adding value to others. He emphasizes the importance of considering others' worth and needs, drawing on teachings from John Maxwell and the Bible, specifically Philippians 2. Through personal anecdotes, including a story about his dog Snoopy, Chris illustrates how small acts of kindness and consideration can significantly impact relationships. He encourages listeners to take a personal inventory of how they interact with others and to strive to live selflessly, consistently adding value to all their relationships. 00:00 Welcome to Thursday Thoughts: The Power of Adding Value 00:35 Embracing Humility and Valuing Others 00:56 John Maxwell's Influence on Adding Value 01:32 The True Meaning of Value 01:57 Learning from Jesus' Example 02:33 A Personal Story: Adding Value with Snoopy 04:57 The Impact of Small Acts of Kindness 05:30 Applying the Principle of Adding Value in Daily Life 06:26 Closing Thoughts: Living Selflessly Learn more about Chris at: www.chrishoneycutt.com Or his coaching group

Today, I want to share one of the most important values that have stuck with me throughout my career. When I started following John Maxwell years ago, before he became one of my mentors, he said something that has become my principle ever since: to be a person of value and to value people. This should be a principle not just in our workplace but also in life. Being a person with value who values others is something we all should strive to uphold. When we are clear on our values and what we stand for, we can live authentically and make decisions more easily. We know which path to take in life because we understand what is important to us, and that is what our values are all about. I also talked about the importance of celebrating achievements and milestones to value others. Whether it's hitting a major goal, reaching an anniversary with the company, or completing a project, recognizing and celebrating these accomplishments is essential in making people feel valued and appreciated. In this episode, we talked about the following: Being your authentic self The values of a Christian, and the bible as the standard Importance of valuing others Importance of showing up for people Empathy and understanding towards others Connect with Mary Guirovich Email Facebook LinkedIn Instagram Twitter YouTube
Today I want to talk some about leveling up our leadership by going from being a good leader to becoming a transformational leader. That transformation has to start within us first, we can't add value to others if we don't have anything valuable to give. Once we have something valuable to share, we have to keep our eyes open for the opportunities to share it with others."Success comes when we add value to ourselves, significance comes when we add value to others." - John Maxwell
This coffee talk we share laughter and reason over faith in Christ. To be known by our reasonableness takes a change of mind. This change requires us to value all life. Indeed, we must care about one another, and be bold enough to be inspired to do good works. In today's episode of Staying at the Table we continue the conversation with Rev. Sophia Foutres, we pick back up where we left off talking about Sophia's college years and her introduction to an evangelical faith while coming to terms with her identity as a gay woman. We discuss toxic and damaging religious ideologies used against the LGBTQIA+ community and Sophia's journey of hearing Christ's love and acceptance of her, releasing fear and shame, and coming to the point of accepting herself and her identity.
In today's episode of Staying at the Table we continue the conversation with Rev. Sophia Foutres, talking about her journey into recognizing and embracing her identity as a gay woman. In the previous episode she shared about her childhood and adolescence and this episode we are going to talk about her engagement with the church - her becoming a Christian, discovering Christ in her life, and how this affected her identity with the LGBTQIA+ community.
In today's episode of Staying at the Table we are going to begin a 4-part series with our friend Rev. Sophia - she is going to share with us the journey of her unlocking; of becoming her authentic self. From childhood, through her Christianity, into the acknowledgement of her true self and up to today.

In today's episode of Staying at the Table we talk about Cornerstone Christian Fellowship's journey as we look at tough topics within the religious community such as what is our stance on the LGBTQIA+ topic? Where and how far does Loving God and Loving Others Fearlessly go, and what is the process that we individually and collectively went through in order to come to some resemblance of agreement on how we, as a community, invite ALL to the table?
In today's episode of Staying at the Table we look at our core value of Multiplying Leaders. We talk about why the church seems to embrace authoritarian leaders and how church leaders create space for singular voices to dominate how we worship. Finally we look at how systems where power is multiplied among many leaders can strengthen diversity within communities. Come join us at the table and enjoy the show.

Caleb Eernisse | We all have a natural desire to belong, and when we choose to follow Jesus and become a Christian, we find that we suddenly belong to the worldwide family of his followers known as “the church.” As members of the church, we are told in I Corinthians 12:12-26 that we are part of a global “body of Christ” and that we all have important roles to play in that body. We may all be different and it may be difficult to always feel as though we belong, but if we know that we are one, trust that we are one and act as though we are one, we can begin to work with the rest of the body of Christ to be transformed and transform the world.
