All Aboard the Innovation Express: RSAC 2025 On Track for Cybersecurity's FutureLet's face it—RSAC isn't just a conference anymore. It's a movement. A ritual. A block party for cybersecurity. And this year, it's pulling into the station with more tracks than ever before—figuratively and literally. In this On Location episode, we reconnect with Cecilia Murtagh Marinier, Vice President of Innovation and Scholars at RSAC, to dive into what makes the 2025 edition a can't-miss experience. And as always, Sean and Marco kick things off with a bit of improvisation, some travel jokes, and a whole lot of heart. From the 20th Anniversary of the Innovation Sandbox (with a massive $50M investment boost from Crosspoint Capital) to the growing Early Stage Expo, LaunchPad's Shark-Tank-style sessions, and the new Investor & Entrepreneur track, RSAC continues to set the stage for cybersecurity's next big thing. And this year, they're going bigger—literally. The expansion into the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts brings with it a mind-blowing immersive experience: DARPA's AI Cyber City, a physically interactive train ride through smart city scenarios, designed to show how cybersecurity touches everything—from water plants to hospitals, satellites to firmware.Add in eight hands-on villages, security scholars programs, coffee-fueled networking zones, and a renewed focus on inclusion, mentorship, and accessibility, and you've got something that feels less like an event and more like a living, breathing community.Cecilia also reminds us that RSAC is a place for everyone—from first-timers unsure where to begin to seasoned veterans ready to innovate and invest. It's about showing up, making a plan (or not), and being open to the unexpected conversations that happen in hallways, lounges, or over espresso in the sandbox village. And if you can't make it in person? RSAC has made sure that everything is accessible online—600 speakers, 600 vendors, and endless ways to engage, reflect, and be part of the global cybersecurity story. So whether you're hopping in the car, boarding a flight, or—who knows—riding a miniature DARPA train through Northridge City, one thing's for sure: RSAC 2025 is going full speed ahead—and we're bringing you along for the ride.⸻
As the cybersecurity world gears up for RSAC 2025 in San Francisco, we hit the road again—this time with Chris Pierson, Founder and CEO of BlackCloak, for a pre-event chat packed with insight, community spirit, and some big news.Chris is no stranger to the RSA stage—this year marks his 21st year presenting—and he's bringing his energy to two powerful sessions. The first, titled “Protecting What Matters: Your Family and Home,” kicks off bright and early on Monday, April 28. It's not about blinky lights or enterprise networks—it's about us. The cybersecurity community often talks about protecting organizations, but what about protecting ourselves and our families? Chris will explore how security pros can apply their skills at home, covering identity theft, scams, and home network safety. It's a refreshing and much-needed call to action that connects the personal and professional. On Wednesday, Chris returns with co-presenter James Shreve for a two-hour Learning Lab, “When Things Go Boom: Supply Chain Risk.” This Chatham House Rule session dives deep into one of today's most complex challenges: managing third-party risk without stopping the business in its tracks. Participants will step into different roles—board members, CISOs, legal, finance—to engage in a live, collaborative scenario that pushes them to think beyond checklists. Real talk. Real collaboration. And practical takeaways. But that's not all. BlackCloak is also unveiling its new Digital Executive Protection Framework, designed to help organizations assess and strengthen protections for executives and their families. Chris teases that this framework includes 14 essential tenets that blend physical, digital, and organizational awareness—and he'll be sitting down with us again at the event to go deeper. With 15–20 BlackCloak team members on site, a full schedule of meetings, events, and community conversations, this year is shaping up to be a milestone for BlackCloak at RSAC. If you're attending, keep an eye on their LinkedIn page for updates, booking links, and suite details. As Chris says, it's about lifting our heads, scanning the horizon, and showing up for our community—and our families. Keywords: RSAC2025, Chris Pierson, BlackCloak, cybersecurity, RSA Conference, digital protection, executive protection, supply chain risk, identity theft, privacy, home network security, third-party risk, CISOs, cybersecurity community, digital executive protection framework, GRC, threat intelligence, infosec, personal security, cybersecurity awareness______________________Guest: Chris Pierson, Founder & CEO of BLACKCLOAK | Digital Executive Protection | Concierge Cybersecurity & Privacy Protection . . . in their Personal Lives | On LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/drchristopherpierson/Hosts:Sean Martin, Co-Founder at ITSPmagazine [@ITSPmagazine] and Host of Redefining CyberSecurity Podcast [@RedefiningCyber] | On ITSPmagazine: https://www.itspmagazine.com/sean-martinMarco Ciappelli, Co-Founder at ITSPmagazine [@ITSPmagazine] and Host of Redefining Society Podcast & Audio Signals Podcast | On ITSPmagazine: https://www.itspmagazine.com/itspmagazine-podcast-radio-hosts/marco-ciappelli____________________________This Episode's SponsorsBLACKCLOAK:https://itspm.ag/itspbcweb____________________________ResourcesLearn more and catch more stories from RSA Conference 2025 coverage: https://www.itspmagazine.com/rsa-conference-usa-2025-rsac-san-francisco-usa-cybersecurity-event-infosec-conference-coverageChris SessionsProtecting What Matters—Your Family & Home https://path.rsaconference.com/flow/rsac/us25/FullAgenda/page/catalog/session/1739369849404001eWtUWhen Things Go Boom! “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” -Proverbs 31:8-9 Welcome to The Adoption & Foster Care Journey—a podcast to encourage, educate and equip you as you care for children in crisis through adoption, foster care and kinship care. On this episode, host Sandra Flach talks with David Deere of the FASD United Affiliate Network Executive Council. David retired from the University of Arkansas, where he was the Director of Partners for Inclusive Communities, a research and training center for developmental disabilities. While in that position, he became aware that fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) is one of the most common groups of disabilities, yet largely overlooked. David worked on projects funded by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration. One of those projects led to the establishment of Arkansas None for Nine, an Affiliate of FASD United. After his retirement, David founded the FASD special interest group at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. He also co-founded the Specialty Diagnostic Resource Center, the 1st clinic in Arkansas focused on diagnosing FASDs and supporting individuals with the condition, as well as their families. Listen in as Sandra and David discuss getting an FASD diagnosis and the importance of FASD diagnosis clinics. In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger, FCAH, RBHT, speaks with Dori Baker about how soulful practices can foster resilience, inclusivity, and mental well-being, while addressing the importance of community, diverse traditions, and daily acts of connection to combat anxiety, depression, and social injustices. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dori-barker Highlights from today's episode include: Dori Baker I like to use the word soulful practices instead of spiritual practices, because spiritual has been so maligned and has so been misused, and that we have such a history of mostly men using their spiritual power and leadership in ways that violate people. But soulfulness is something I think we can all resonate with. Dori Baker I like to say the bridges are broken between these practices and the traditions or the places, the institutions that once stewarded them. My friends, where the bridges aren't just broken. Somebody has poured gas and lit a match. You know, the bridges are gone. Manon Bolliger And it's like going back into really who we are, our sovereign beings, that we are. And this is where all the power is, is recognizing that. So when you brought up, you know, imposter syndrome, it's like imposter to what we're not even trying to be, something else, just be, be who you are, ABOUT DORI BAKER: Dori Grinenko Baker calls herself a Spy for Hope. She is a writer, facilitator, and thought-leader who is passionate about helping people find meaning and live into their purpose. She does this by creating experiences for groups to engage wholeheartedly in practices of radical hospitality. Dori creates spaces that honor transformation from patriarchal and white supremacist norms into more liberatory realities that welcome the flourishing of all people. Her facilitation and coaching focus on practices of holy listening and theological reflection that help communities invite joyful encounters, especially in the midst of conflict and disruption. Dori is an ordained UMC elder, author of five books, and host of the podcast LIVE to Tell. Her most recent book, Girl/Friend Theology: Doing God-talk with Young People, is used in seminary classrooms across the US. Her co-authored book Another Way Living and Leading Change on Purpose, is an innovative guide for decolonizing leadership practices. In this episode of the Friends for Life Podcast, we take a deep dive into the essential field of care for individuals with developmental disabilities. This vital work goes far beyond basic services—it's about fostering independence, promoting inclusion, and ensuring that individuals with unique needs can lead fulfilling lives within their communities. We explore how specialized care, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, and job coaching, empowers individuals with developmental disabilities to build essential life skills, access employment, and participate meaningfully in society. This care not only benefits individuals but also provides much-needed support for families navigating the complex challenges of caregiving. Historically, people with developmental disabilities faced marginalization and exclusion. Today, caregivers and advocates play a critical role in ensuring that these individuals are treated with dignity and respect. By promoting policies and programs that protect their rights, developmental disability services strengthen the social fabric of our communities and create a culture of acceptance and understanding. This episode is a powerful reminder that investing in the field of developmental disability care isn't just about meeting physical and emotional needs—it's a moral imperative that reflects our collective values of compassion, dignity, and equality. Tune in to learn more about how caregivers, advocates, and service providers are creating a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone.

Allison is joined by Angela O'Brien for a vulnerable conversation about the importance of exposure and inclusion as it relates to the special needs community. Angela is a professional organizer, host of the Especially Organized podcast, and a special needs mom. Allison and Angela discuss the reasons it's important for our young children to be exposed to people with special needs, the biases that still exist in today's communities and why we need to work towards a more inclusive society. Both Allison and Angela share their own personal stories of how individuals with special needs have impacted their families. Angela opens up about the joys and challenges of parenting a child with intellectual disabilities, makes suggestions for how parents can approach and include families with special needs children, as well as offers guidance on how parents of special needs children can find support and community in their own lives. We believe in the transformative power of art. It's a potent tool that can be used to touch hearts and open minds and contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and equitable community. Over the years, we've talked with artists, but this conversation is different. It is about street art, or what I might call guerilla art. Work that lives at the intersection of art and activism. It's about a troupe of artists who engage in activism, support other activists, and use their art to, as they say, "surprise you out of your normal routine." Gina Abbondante is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and the owner of Change of Mind Counseling Services, located in NJ. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety spectrum disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, particular in the perinatal community. Gina speaks on these topics regularly, and was one of the first early adopters of Inference-based CBT for OCD in the United States. In addition, based on her own lived experience and having two neurodiverse children, Gina also works closely with the neurodivergent community, providing neurodiversity affirming assessments for adolescents and adults. For more information about Gina, and where to reach her, check out changeofmindcounseling.com and ocdtrainingschool.com Gina and I talk about all forms of neurodiversity, including OCD, how to identify it in our children and in ourselves and what we can do to help. There is a lot of work to be done to create a inclusive society that honors and celebrates the neurodiverse population, but with growing numbers of people being diagnosed, awareness rising and moms on a mission to help their kids, I believe the future is bright. If you are, or have a child who is neurodiverse (or both...let's face it, this runs in families!), Gina says there is nothing more important than community. This road is often difficult and uncertain. Community gives us the support we need to stay strong for our kids, and it also gives you the opportunity to be support to someone else. Service of any kind lifts our spirits and reminds us of our strength and power. Community also brings people with all different skills, talents, experiences and perspectives together. What a recipe for creative solutions and positive change!
