In this episode, Nicole interviews Alisha, fellow LEOW and licensed marriage and family therapist. She is also a certified First Responder. She grew up the daughter of a police officer in the Central Valley. After her husband and her were married, he went to the academy and is now a LEO in the Monterey Bay. However, this WAS NOT part of their plan. Listen to the episode to learn how her LEO decided on his career. Alisha and her LEO have two young kiddos, have been married for almost 8 years, and are actively involved in our church community (more so when not in quarantine). She is also the co-founder and owner of Code 3 Counseling in California where she works with her dad (now retired LEO) on providing mental health and educational services to first responders. In the interview, Alisha discusses the mindset to have as a LEOW in difficult times - that this is a season and it will pass. She also talks about focusing on "what we are going to get from it [tough times]" and how to grow from it. In addition, you will hear about how to hold space during trauma or sadness. Most notably, she shares her journey with getting her husband hired and settled into a department. They struggled with the political aftermath of issues at his department, which caused problems with him getting hired. And then when he got hired in the Monterey Bay, they did a “long-distance-ish” thing where he would commute to the Monterey Bay from Stockton (3 hours) for his work week and then come home on his days off. They did that for about 18 months before the kids and her moved out when he got off of probation (also, he started the department work when their second child was 14 days old). And then moving out the Monterey Bay, they had absolutely no support system when they moved. Thus, they had to work hard to build for them and have an "us." LEOW advice from Alisha. "It would be to understand how responders react to the trauma they are exposed to. When we understand the impact of trauma, we can recognize it more easily, and the respond in grace to the problems these responses cause in our marriage/relationship with our responder. This is not to excuse their inappropriate behavior. When we understand that our spouse is responding to the trauma their brain experienced, we can respond in a helpful and constructive way than a shameful and hurtful way. It's gotten to the point where I don't even know what to ask God for. I've asked, I've had faith, I've been obedient, I've worked hard - so now what? In this episode I talk about what to do after you realized your breakthrough WAS NOT around the corner.

In Lesson #16, we discussed the fall of Satan to earth; in this lesson, we discuss the Fall of man on earth.  In Lesson #16, we talked about the temptation of Eve; now we consider the tragedy of Adam, for it was his fall that resulted in the curse of sin and death that has affected the entire world and mankind. From the Christological perspective, it is fascinating to see why Adam deliberately sinned against God, for he WAS NOT deceived, as Eve had been (see I Timothy 2:14).

I have a theory - a big one - the big one.... The universe we see is just one side of a dipole magnetic field and the return of that flow to source (which maintains the constant universe over 'time') is by the annihilation of the self through a density of information/understanding and converting mass to energy 'inwards' to that 'other'-side') and returning in the flow. The One Self-Reflecting. This is the return of information to source by the annihilation of the self/ego...this is why the teaching of humility is important as you can't become nothing if you are full of yourself - or have attachments to material things. In Christianity it is The Death & Resurrection, in Judaism it is 'Enoch walked with God and Was Not for God took him' & Chariot/Merkabah Mysticism, In Buddhism it is Mu which means 'Not', and in Sufism it is Fana Fillah. You what to know how messed up our government is? Keep reading. Before leaving is post-Comey shared three personal memos documenting conversations he had with Trump. Two of those documents were unclassified and one was classified. Comey went to the effort of redacting the classified portion of the memo of concern even though he had the power to declassify the information of interest in that memo. Now that he's left the FBI someone else has changed the classification of one of the memos now claiming its content is classified. The Justice Department is now looking into the issue to determine if Comey shared classified information with his friend. Now keep in mind the information WAS NOT classified when he shared it but apparently, he can still be charged if the classification is changed later. (yeah WTF? That's what I said) This is our legal system today. ***Turkey has just decided to repatriate 100% of its gold reserves from the US.
