Have you ever noticed that the manifestations of mineral deficiencies on landscapes mirror the signs and symptoms of deficiencies on the human body? Have you heard that as minerals are becoming less bioavailable in living soil, we are inheriting a food product that transfers less of these life affirming nutrients to our body? On today's episode of Where Hope Grows we talk about the interconnectedness of over 90 trace elements that should be nourishing our land yet have been extracted and depleted via industrial agriculture. Explore how minerals are lost from natural systems, where they go, and how to heal our living systems with the power of sea based agricultural solutions. This episode will leave you inspired and in awe of a complex solution to reclaiming the legacy of our health. On this week's Where Hope Grows we return to another episode within our recurring series that we lovingly refer to as "Ranch Stories". Consistent with all these episodes, Katie and I reflect on seemingly "larger than life stories" that have shaped our perspective on ranching and farming. In today's episode we honor and celebrate the many "mistakes" that ranchers/farmers make and explore the blessing in disguise of wonderful "learning opportunities". It is only through failure that we can prevail, and like Mother Nature, the best path forward is often to self-organize and pivot when necessary. Loaded with wisdom and insight that will make you a better and more productive human, this episode might even inspire you to move out to an agricultural community and start co-creating with nature. Enjoy! Collins, ROAM Ranch, @roamranch

Loaded with wisdom and insight that will make you a better and more productive human, this episode might even inspire you to play "would you rather?" later this week. Enjoy!

On this week's iteration of Where Hope Grows, we find ourselves exploring how we arrived at a place of outsourcing our participation in the basic needs for survival with the promise of freedom. But in the recent wakes of COVID, war in Ukraine, and domestic turmoil we see that those who have opted out of participation are the ones most enslaved by the very system that promised liberty. In a lived experience that is crafted in a way that only Joel Salatin can deliver, we find our way back to participating in the fundamental necessities of life! Get ready to reconnect your ecological umbilical to the things that matter most. On this week's episode of Where Hope Grows, we take you live to the mainstage of the first annual "What Good Shall I Do" conference to listen to an amazing panel that demonstrates the power of collaboration. The concept of "collaboration" is a story we see played out in all of Mother Nature's brilliant architecture, yet humans often choose "competition" when establishing relationships and access to resources. This story is about regeneration, the management of hundreds of thousands of acres of land, the creation of a new supply chain, and the bison burger that served as a catalyst! My guests on today's episode represent 3 completely different industries, coming together, working in synchrony, and creating hope. For many years, people have been fascinated by the crossroads of the movie industry and faith. At first blush, it might seem hard to get your head around the juxtaposition of these two worlds. For a person of faith, the mere mention of Hollywood can conjure up thoughts of politicized themes, immoral situations, and sinful behavior. To a point, this may be true, but it can also be seen as one of the most fertile mission fields out there.Faith-based movies can certainly make a positive difference to the masses but more importantly Christian actors, directors, and production people can have a life-changing influence on those whom they work with.My guest today, Kris Polaha, is a Christian actor regularly working in Hollywood and has an upcoming role in the summer blockbuster, “Jurassic World: Dominion”. He sees the movie industry as a place for him to live out his faith in such a way that is welcoming to his peers. In other words, rather than beating people up with the Bible, he instead conducts business in such a manner that those around him will often say, “There's something different about that guy. I want that in my life. I need whatever it is that he has.”Well, that something is faith in Jesus Christ.Kris joins us on the Crossmap Podcast to share the role that faith plays in how he approaches the craft of acting. Listen as he talks about what he looks for in a movie project and whether there is any particular process he goes through when considering an acting role. He might even throw in a quip or two about a velociraptor or a T-Rex!Where Hope Grows on Pure FlixClick here to learn more about the movie.Links to Kris Polaha Kris Polaha on IMDb Kris Polaha's Website Kris Polaha on Facebook Kris Polaha on Instagram Kris Polaha on Twitter Links to Crossmap Crossmap Website Crossmap Facebook

Both men talk about how they broke into the entertainment industry and what is was like working together... in this episode of The Doorpost Podcast Project! CHRIS'S BIO: Chris received his degree in Radio-Television-Film from The University of Texas at Austin. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has optioned multiple properties that span both genre and medium. Chris's feature film “Where Hope Grows” (writer/director) will be released in theaters on May 15 through Roadside Attractions/Lionsgate Films. His Sony film “The Remaining” (writer) premiered in theaters worldwide in September 5, 2014. DAVID'S BIO: David DeSanctis grew up with an interest in drama, choir and broadcast journalism and participated in all three during high school. David was slowly adding to his resume as a host, often on the microphone for local events that supported people with Down syndrome, like David. No wonder when a film came to town looking for a young man with Down syndrome for a lead role everyone said "Oh, you need to meet David." So, they met David; and that was the beginning on an amazing journey for him, as well as his parents Bill and Julie. David was cast as Produce, in the feature film, Where Hope Grows. Today David resides with his parents in Louisville. He is an avid reader with great computer skills. He keeps busy with Special Olympics; participates with the Louisville Adaptive Rowing Team and loves a good game of tennis. He also has a great appreciation of music, and would be happy to make you a mix CD including your favorite singers. David keeps up with family and friends on Facebook while looking forward to his next acting opportunity.
