It is not easy when both partners are going through a low phase, it gets hard not to lash out at your partner and use them as your punching bag. Because the only other person who exists with you is bound to take the brunt of your moods and lows. But thanks to couples therapy we were able to find a way to not make each other an emotional dumping ground. In this episode we share some insights to keep in mind when both partners are going through a rough patch. Some of these things we learnt in Therapy. When Life throws lemons at you, sometimes you just want to throw them at your partner. Haha! But on a serious note, what can we do when we feel disconnected? What if all your efforts of reconnecting goes down the drain because you just keep saying the wrong things to your partner! Or you keep saying the right things accordingly to you but they just don't go down well with your partner? Enter the hero - Love Languages! It took us 5-6 years to realise what are love languages. But since we have learnt what they are, they have been a game changer for our relationship. Our therapist told us to take this quiz - https://5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/love-language And we both found what our love languages really are. It helped us communicate our problems better, it also helped us love each other better in the different love language we both have. Please learn from our mistakes and don't take 5-6 yrs to find out what your love language is. Also we are planning a season two of the podcast and would like your opinion on what you would like to hear more - Stories of more couples like us, real-life people, real stories of struggle, or you would like us to bring subject experts and therapists on this podcast to discuss general relationship issues or your specific questions. Happy New Year to all of you. We hope 2024 brings you love, abundance and prosperity! Continuing the mental health episodes. In this episode we talk about how one partner's mental health can affect the other partner as well. When we choose not to take steps to fix our own mental health, we also put our loved ones through a lot of mental stress, as a result the relationship gets strained. In a relationship, how one person feels mentally can affect the other person. If someone is stressed or sad, it might make it harder for them to talk, do chores, or connect emotionally. This can cause problems in the relationship. It's important for partners to talk openly, be understanding, and support each other. Sometimes, getting help from a professional can make things better for both people and the relationship. We discuss what all Shokhi went through while Karan struggled with his mental health and how it changed their relationship in various ways. If you think you went through some of the symptoms we discussed please get help, don't struggle alone.
