Episode 91 I'm BAAACK! It's been 5 months since my last podcast episode, but I'm back and ready to roll. This episode is all about the importance of being true to yourself. This is exactly what I have been working on since my last episode. You might think that after 30 years of studying and practicing personal development, I would have this life thing pretty well figured out. Now while that may be true with some things, even I am bound to encounter a few obstacles along the way! But it's precisely because of personal development that I'm able to recognize when things are off for me and make the necessary changes. In this episode we talk about: -Where I've been and what I've been doing the last few months, How to recognize when you're not being true to yourself, and a few ways to turn things around when this happens. Being true to yourself is essential for your happiness and well-being. Trying to effort your way through things just to please others and not trusting in what you want will never work out and leave you completely frustrated with your life. Take the time to look inward, follow your spirit's lead and let your light shine the way it's meant to. Want to explore more ways to be your best? Then let's have a conversation about that and help you have a breakthrough year. Email me at mailto:info@tanyahelen.com or DM me @tanyahtringali.
Episode 90 features my interview with FIRE coach Wendy Verwey. In case you're wondering what FIRE stands for it is- financial independence, retire early. And as I said in this episode- I love that! Wendy was able to retire at the age of 41 while being a single mom and she now uses her time to help others, especially single moms, learn to do the same thing. She took what she calls her ‘country song year' and used that to inspire and motivate herself to create the life that she envisioned. Wendy's practical way of approaching money and your finances is one of the things that I love about her. She breaks everything down in simple to understand terms and takes away the intimidation factor that many feel when talking about investing and money. As you know money is one of the topics I have focused on since starting this podcast and that's why I was so happy to have Wendy on and give a different approach and viewpoint to the topic. Her insight into your true hourly wage is eye-opening in and of itself and that is just the tip of the iceberg of what she offers to those willing to listen and work with her. In this episode we talk about: -Wendy's story of financial independence and early retirement, Your true hourly wage, And so much more! I highly encourage you to check out Wendy's website for some great resources and her True Hourly Wage Calculator. You can find all of the links in the show notes. She is such a great teacher and I can't thank her enough for coming on the show. I hope you will be inspired to take control of your finances and financial freedom. As Wendy and I have both said- money is a tool and we want you to use it to your advantage. Do you want to be in more control of your finances? Then let's have a conversation about that and turn it around. Email me at mailto:info@tanyahelen.com or DM me @tanyahtringali. Episode 89 is a return to goal setting and achieving and how my process for certain types of goals has shifted and evolved over the last few years. Goal setting is the backbone of personal development and because I have been practicing it for the past 30 years, I've become quite good at it. I mean, I better be. The problem is that traditional goal setting doesn't work for all types of goals. When you are looking to step into a bigger version of yourself, that higher version that is calling you, it requires a different process for achieving it than traditional goal setting gives you. The kind of internal growth I'm talking about is going to demand things from you that you might not have encountered before. It will leave you feeling off-balance, unsure, and questioning everything. But if you're prepared with the right skill set and process to get you there, you'll make the transition and enjoy the journey. In this episode we talk about: - The difference between traditional goal setting and my new version, the 3 ways I have shifted, a bonus way
Episode 88 shares the wonderful interview that I had with Andray Sumeer aka The Superhero of Love. Andray is one of those special spirits in life that when you meet him, you sense that he is a person worthwhile getting to know. The funny thing is, before his spiritual awakening, he will tell you himself that he was a completely different person. One that was angry all the time and honestly didn't want to continue living. He shares his story with such authenticity that you can't help but want to know more about him. His YouTube channel is filled with inspirational videos all designed to help you move your needle forward in life. To help you become your own superhero. He has declared himself the superhero of love here to spread divine love & light to each of our souls. Here to spread pure bliss to each of us and heal and harmonize our planet. Well, I'm sure glad he is! In this episode, we talk about: Andray's awakening experience, A little bit about his past, Visualizing, journaling, gratitude, and so many other things! I loved interviewing Andray. He just has such excitement about life that comes from the amazing experience that he had and I was honored that he shared his story so freely. I know that when you listen, that excitement will come through for you as well. You will walk away with a better feeling throughout your day. If you would like to learn more about Andray and how you can work with him you can find her contact info in the show notes on my website, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 87 introduces you to certified nutritionist and gut health expert Geta Barbu. I had the privilege of interviewing Geta a few weeks ago and we had such a great conversation around the topic of gut health and nutritional healing. Geta has a wealth of knowledge and information about this topic because she has been living with liver dysfunction since birth. Her passion for helping not only individuals with their gut issues but their entire family structure due to the healing process has really been a driver for her. This has helped her to grow a thriving coaching practice and make a positive impact in others' lives. In this episode we talk about: Geta's personal gut health journey, her frustration at how gut health has become somewhat of a ‘buzzword', how she is helping others through her coaching practice and so much more! Geta's infectious personality really comes through during our conversation and it's easy to see why people want to work with her. Her personal connection with gut health and nutrition gives her such insight that her clients can't help but benefit from it. You will walk away from this interview with a renewed spirit to be an advocate for your health & that of your families as well. If you would like to learn more about Geta's services and how you can work with her you can find her contact info in the show notes on my website, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 86 is all about the power of positivity and having an optimistic attitude and outlook on life. For me being positive is something that comes naturally, but I recognize that's not the case for everyone. What I also recognize is there are tremendous benefits that come from having a positive mindset. And it's my goal to help you achieve that if and only if that's what you're looking to do. Our world has too much negativity at the moment and it's only through making a conscious effort to be more positive, that we can overcome that. Negativity is like cancer because it spreads, it creeps in when you aren't looking and it's definitely contagious! But so is positivity. And as a perpetual ‘glass-is-half-full' kind of girl I know positivity will win in the end
Episode 85 brings you a jam-packed interview with Kathleen Trotter! To say I enjoyed my conversation with Kathleen would be tame. I LOVED my conversation with her!! I know you will also find a way to connect with her because she's that type of person. Episode 84 is all about our emotions!! This episode has been a while in the making and I know that once you are able to take advantage of your emotions and utilize them thoroughly, you will be living your life in a much more empowered state. This is what I always want for you. For you to love your life and experience everything that you came here to experience. There are two sides to the emotion equation- on one side is being able to guide your emotions and on the other side is being guided by them. These are two very different things and require different things from you to succeed. Once you are able to do this, you give yourself an advantage in life. Every moment of every day, we experience either positive or negative emotions. We are emotion-driven/ vibrational beings! This is why you cannot ignore them and why you must make mastering them a priority. In this episode I talk about: Guiding your emotions, being guided by them, detachment, a few other ways to help you with both, and processes to help you when you are struggling with your emotions This is one of those episodes that I don't want you to miss a beat of. Listen to it more than once because I packed a lot in here. Learning to work with your emotions should be a priority for you. It will help you in every relationship you ever have. It will help you show up the way you want to in life. It will help you to create the life you want on purpose!! Instead of constantly being in reaction mode. Spend time on your emotions and your life will look different. If you would like to get the show notes for this episode, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 83 shares with you the 3 most important things I have done to help me shift from learning personal development to living it. And yes, there is a difference. When you make that shift, you are now practicing the personal development lifestyle, where the amazing gifts of personal development are so ingrained in you that you no longer have to think so hard about everything. It just comes naturally and intuitively. And here's the thing about that. There is no specific time frame for making that happen. Everyone is different. Everyone learns differently, grows in their way, and experiences things unique to them. And there's NOTHING wrong with that. My reason for creating this episode is to help those who are looking to transition into living the personal development lifestyle. To help them shorten that gap between the learning and the living part. In this episode I talk about: What living personal development has done for me, 3 things I learned to do that made all the difference, how you can do the same thing As Jim Rohn said, “personal development is an invitation sent to all but recognized by few” If you are reading this and have listened to any of my podcast episodes then you have recognized your invitation. My job, honor, privilege, and purpose is to welcome you and help guide you in any way I can. To be a source of information, inspiration, and encouragement. Choosing to live the personal development lifestyle is one of the best decisions you will ever make for yourself and those you interact with every day. Episode 82 is all about change and how to develop a love of it vs fearing and dreading it. This episode is about maximizing any changes that come your way by utilizing a few simple techniques that anyone can do. Change is a part of everyday life and when met with a positive healthy mindset can yield tremendous benefits for you. I know that change can be really hard for some people. It's a control thing and that's why it's so important to remember that the only thing we EVER have control over is ourselves and our reaction to others. Yes, I said it again!! For me, change is usually a welcome thing. I have my moments like anyone else when the unexpected shows up, but overall I embrace it. Practicing personal development consistently over the years has definitely helped with that and my hope is that this episode will do the same for you. In this episode I talk about: Change in general, 5 different ways to help you maximize change, where spirit comes into play, and a few personal examples Life is fluid and never static. Everything is energy, including us and energy never stops moving. When you look at change as spirit's way, life's way, of growing and expanding it makes it much easier to deal with and embrace. Even the painful kind. Everything has a purpose and is by design. Designed to help us move forward in life and complete what we came here to do. Trust the process of change and maximize it any way you can. If you would like to get the show notes for this episode, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 81 dives into the power of our beliefs and how they can positively or negatively affect our life experience here on Earth. If they are supporting you or not based on how they are making you feel. So the goal for this episode is to help you be tuned in, tapped in, and turned on- as Abraham Hicks likes to say, to source energy. This is so you are able to choose the beliefs that support the spiritual vibrational being that you are. So as a side note here, to show you how the things I talk about and teach others come from personal experience, I want to share my experience this week with you. The law of attraction has been on overdrive bringing all things about beliefs this week! Oh my gosh, every time I turned around, there was a video, an email, or a positive affirmation about beliefs. All from completely different sources. The law of attraction is REAL and that's why it's a part of the personal development I teach & coach. Alright, back to the episode. The simplest definition of a belief is a practiced thought about something or someone. A thought that you continue to think, a thought that you keep thinking. That's it. And yet something so simple can affect a person's life in dramatic ways so they shouldn't be overlooked and should be questioned from time to time. In this episode, I talk about: Different kinds of belief, the most destructive kind of belief, how you can tell if your beliefs are still serving you, a few personal examples, where your feelings come into play My reason for recording this episode is because all too often we can spend our entire lives wanting certain things only to never have them, to never achieve them. And quite often it's simply a matter of wanting a thing and believing in opposition to it. The problem is that the opposite belief will keep what you want from you all the days of your life. But you may never realize that your beliefs are the problem. You'll think it's everyone else's fault. That's why it's so important to address your beliefs and change those that are not serving you.If you would like to get the show notes for this episode, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 80 explores the differences between three types of people in this world- the powerless, the powerful and empowered. So excited to have reached this milestone episode!! I'm going a bit bold in this one and I'm calling people out. Well sort of LOL. I've just noticed over the years that when it comes to people's mindsets- they tend to fall in one of the 3 types that I just listed. Now I realize that awhile back I did an entire episode about why I hate labels for people and that still holds true. This episode as I said is more about how people think and therefore act based on how they think. The way we think drives our entire lives and therefore the outcomes we get. And the great thing about our mindset, is that we can change it!! Mindset is so important and that's why it is the first thing I work on with clients. In this episode you will learn: The importance of our mindset, the 3 types of people (mindsets), our ability to move into and out of the different types, where personal development fits in As you listen to this episode one thing will become abundantly clear- awareness is key and really the first step to any meaningful change in our lives. This is where the power of personal development shines. My goal for this episode is to empower the listener to BECOME empowered and understand, accept and embrace the responsibility that comes with that empowerment. I hope I've been able to achieve that.If you would like to get the show notes for this episode, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 79 focuses on why the only thing you ever need to work on is you and gives you some simple ways to help you do this. If you've been listening to me for a while then you know that the only thing you can ever control is you, so it's a complete waste of energy to try and control others or conditions. By becoming your best and continually reaching for that every day, you affect every area of your life and every relationship you have in a healthy positive way. We can't ask for more than that. When you make working on yourself a priority, you create an incredible internal focus for yourself. And that focus is something that helps guide you and that you can go back to time and time again. You're also able to make personal development your lifestyle, just like I have and I share with you a little bit about what that looks like. In this episode you will learn: Why working on yourself needs to be your priority, what the personal development lifestyle looks like and gives you, 4 things you need to work on to help you strengthen your internal focus As I've said before, to me, personal development is God's ultimate guidance system for us to use. When I decided to make teaching others about its amazing powers my purpose, I knew I had found my calling in life. I also knew that the current world of personal development can be overwhelming & confusing. That's why I set out to create my own style and combine the best of traditional personal development and the law of attraction with a spirit-centered focus. That is how the Kickass Way of personal development came to be and is what I teach in every episode, in every social media post, and to my coaching clients. It's also what my upcoming book is about!!! Connecting with others and empowering them with these tools is my mission in life.If you would like to get the show notes for this episode, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 78 is all about alignment with spirit. What that looks and feels like, how you can get there and why it's the only thing you want to accomplish. This is really a continuation of the live I did last week on Instagram. It was so much fun for me and I hope for those who listened. I realized that there is only so much you can talk about during a live without overwhelming people, and my podcast is a way to deepen the conversation more intimately. More one-on-one, which is still my favorite way to connect with all of you! Spiritual alignment is what we came here for in this physical space and that's why it feels so AMAZING! Because when we are in perfect alignment we are experiencing our spirit's natural state of well-being. We are being the absolute best version of ourselves that we can be. You can't ask for more than that. In this episode, you will learn: Why I feel about spirit the way I do, 4 simple things you need to do to help you achieve alignment, and why alignment with spirit is so importantMy whole point of doing this episode is to help you achieve the life you want. That life starts and ends with spiritual alignment. When I say it is the only thing you need to achieve- I mean every word. When you make this your focus everything else falls into place. You'll be amazed at how simple it is once you surrender your need to control the outcome. Once you trust in yourself & the universe to bring you what you want. Episode 77 dives deep into the power of knowing what you want. The goal of this episode is to show you the importance of believing in yourself and knowing what you want and then having the courage to go after it. So the inspiration for this episode actually came from an Instagram reel that I created last week. It was a simple reel- just words typing across the screen with some kickass music to go with it, Katy Perry's Firework to be exact. The words were- If something is important to YOU then DON'T let others' opinions get your way and convince you otherwise. I actually wrote these words as a reminder to myself to always listen to my inner being. Sometimes knowing what we want can feel like the most difficult thing to figure out. When this is happening and the answers just don't seem to be coming to you, there are usually reasons behind that. It's not the universe's fault, because it can't give you what you want when you don't even know what that looks like! Or more accurately have the courage to ask for. Our inner being ALWAYS knows what we want because that's what we came here to experience. The problem is we let so many things affect us that we simply can't hear what it's telling us. In this episode, you will learn: A process that I used to help me figure out what I wanted, some very personal examples of how I turned things around, how deciding what I want has affected my life, a little bit about effort and how to use it properly This is one of those episodes that I really allowed myself to open up to all of you. To share with you my struggles and challenges with this topic and how I've overcome them. I did this because I know that I'm not the only one who has been plagued by this. Who knows that if they could just figure out what they wanted in life, things would flow effortlessly for them. I really want
Episode 76 is all about stepping outside your comfort zone. This is a topic I have been focused on a lot lately in my own life recently so it only seemed natural to do an episode on it as well! This is something a lot of people struggle to do, however with a little practice and courage you will find this to be exciting and of great value. To me, the concept of stepping outside of your comfort zone is such a foundational part of personal development that it has been ingrained in me for some time. But I have found that when you consciously practice this on a regular basis your growth will be exponential. So why have I been so focused on this topic? Because I've realized that if I am going to move my business forward like I want to, then I have to really show up as myself. To stop playing it safe and comfortable and to help those individuals that I feel called to help. I can only do that when I stop holding myself back.In this episode you will hear me talk about: Some of my personal experiences with this, some of the benefits, a few ways to help you get startedWe are here in this physical realm to live life to its fullest, to play full out. And when we aren't doing that, when we aren't being true to ourselves, we don't feel well. Our spirit knows what we need to do and that's why we feel that excitement wrapped in fear when we are on the verge of stepping outside of our comfort zone. Feel the fear and do it anyway! If you would like to get the show notes for this episode, head on over to: https://tanyahelen.com/show-notes
Episode 75 features an engaging conversation with best-selling author and transformational speaker Kute Blackson. As a fellow personal development enthusiast Kute has been exploring the many ways humans are able to live their best lives. His journey has led him to some amazing discoveries, including the subject of his latest book “The Magic of Surrender, Finding the Courage to Let Go”, which is what our conversation centered around.Kute was Born in Ghana, West Africa, and had a unique multicultural upbringing as the child of a Japanese mother and a Ghanaian father that has spanned four different continents. Being the son of a revered spiritual leader of more than 300 hundred churches, Kute was speaking in front of his father's congregations at an early age and was expected to eventually take over for his father. But his heart was calling him in a different direction and he came to America on his own at the age of 18. Ever since he has been on his own spiritual journey, inspiring so many along the way , through his speaking engagements, programs, podcast and of course his books. In this episode you will hear Kute and I talk about: What surrender means, how to achieve it, how to use it in our lives, 3 simple questions to ask yourself to get startedKute was very generous with his time and patience with me, as I kept mispronouncing his name during our interview- uggg. Aside from that, I KNOW you will find our conversation valuable to you and walk away with a different perspective on the magic of surrender and how it can empower you in your life. The paperback version of his book is being released on May 3rd. Episode 73 dives into the topic of self-awareness. I have been working on this episode for a while, gathering ideas, doing other shows leading up to this one, and reflecting on my own experience with this topic. Self-awareness encompasses so many things that it's important to give as full a picture as I possibly can.By consistently practicing personal development, with the word being consistent, you will naturally be able to improve and raise your self-awareness. To be clear self-awareness is a balance between internal and external self-awareness. For me, it always comes back to feeling. How do I feel and how do I think others would feel.So the goal for this episode is to highlight one of the best benefits you will get when studying and practicing personal development. In this episode, we will talk about: The differences between internal and external self-awareness, some benefits of improving your self-awareness, a few personal examples of how I have used this in my own life, some ways to improve your self-awarenessSelf-awareness like personal development is a journey. When you approach it with an open mind and understand that it will never be complete and never be perfect, you will enjoy it that much more. Episode 72 is all about having a balance of people in your life. Those individuals being both likeminded and opposing. There is tremendous value in both of these groups of people and when you can learn to appreciate them and what they bring to your life, you will be living a life that perfectly suits you. This is also Kickass Every Day's 2 year anniversary!!!!
Episode 71 brings you my interview with Stacey Piedrahita. This is only the second interview I have done on Kickass Every Day, but I am lining up a few more as we speak
Episode 70 dives into the power of thought. More importantly, directing your thoughts. Really becoming a master of this. The very first time I learned about the power of thought and how we really do create with our thoughts was when I read the book the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles. This concept really blew me away, to be honest. This wasn't something I learned in church or at home or at school. And yet it is the very thing that one needs to know and understand in order to live the life you truly want to live. Over the years this passing interest in the power of thought has grown into something of an obsession. Meaning I can't get enough of it! The universe has brought me more and more teachers on the subject and my knowledge has really deepened. It is with that passionate, hopefully, inspiriting energy that I bring this episode to you.You will learn: Two important benefits of mastering this, a few ways to help you do this, just how powerful of a creator you really areAs Mike Dooley says- Thoughts become things, so choose the good ones. That is a simple quote about the power of thought, but one that you should repeat to yourself often. When you really start paying attention to your thoughts and more importantly continued repeating thoughts about something, you will have taken the first step in creating change for yourself. Awareness about anything creates an immediate shift. It is then up to you to take that shift and become the true creative director of your life that you were meant to be.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 69 explores the idea and benefits of reinventing yourself. When you reinvent something you change that thing so much that it appears entirely new. The important word there is- appears. When you reinvent yourself, you simply transform into a better version of you. At your very core, you are still you. Your spirit is still as strong and as beautifully perfect as ever. But your outer being is what changes, it's what people notice. Sometimes those changes start from the inside and sometimes they are all about the outside. Either way, they reflect the personal growth that has occurred. For me, I find that winter is the perfect time to reinvent myself. I get a chance to hibernate if you will. Spend time at home and work on me. So that when spring rolls around I am ready to reemerge with a renewed energy and outlook. You will learn: A few inward ways to reinvent yourself, a few outward ways also, the best way to think of and use the reinvention processReinventing yourself is not just for celebrities or a midlife crisis. When you embrace the idea of doing this consciously for yourself, it becomes a powerful tool that helps you to propel yourself forward in life. To constantly reach for the best you that you're capable of becoming. You will learn to love the idea of change and that will only make you stronger and more resilient throughout your life.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 68 highlights some great ways to be able to take all of the positive energy associated with a new year and carry that through the next 12 months. The start of a new year is magical and has very unique energy associated with it. That's why you want to take full advantage of that and not let this one time of year go to waste.Happy New Year!! Episode 67 dives into the 5 FIXABLE mistakes people often make when using personal development. In this episode not only do I share these 5 mistakes, but I also give you some ways to fix and better yet avoid them if you can! I cannot believe that the Christmas holiday is upon us this week!! So crazy to me. It is truly my favorite time of year and I hope that you will all catch a wave of the Christmas magic that is in the air. The Christmas spirit is for everyone, not just Christians. After all, Jesus was, is, and always will be for everyone. All right, onto this week's episode. The 5 mistakes that I talk about aren't the only mistakes, they are just the top 5. I have made several of them and have seen many other people over the years make them as well. The personal development journey is so rewarding, but the problem is these 5 mistakes can sabotage that journey early on leaving the individual feeling frustrated and that it doesn't work. Well, I am done with that and always want you to feel empowered by personal development not defeated by it. You will learn: The top 5 mistakes, a few ways to fix them and avoid them, some things that I have created to help you along your journey When I say that I love personal development so much, that is an understatement. This is why I have made it my life's purpose to teach it to others. To teach others how to use it, to make the industry better and better, and to continue to be excited by the magic of it every day. I am like Harry Potter in every movie when he has this moment of being continually amazed by magic. That is what I want for all of you.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 66 is all about the importance of keeping promises to yourself and some ways to do this. So excited to be back with a new episode after taking a few weeks off to work on some other projects. Ahhh promises. They are so easy to make and a real challenge to keep at times, especially the ones we make to ourselves. Reason being? We don't want to let others down! We don't want to cause disappointment for another but think that disappointing ourselves is not such a big deal. This kind of thinking is flawed. If we keep disappointing ourselves and treating ourselves, our dreams, and our goals less than we would treat another's, how can we possibly hope to show up as our best. To give our best to others. You will learn: -The consequences of breaking promises to yourself, the benefits of keeping those promises, some ways of helping you to keep those promises, when you might need to break a promise to yourselfI read somewhere recently that ‘promise is a big word, it either makes something or breaks everything.' Wow, when you think of it that way, you can really feel the power of a promise. So it's not hard to imagine what consistently breaking them to ourselves does. It leaves us feeling stuck in inertia and that affects our self-confidence and self-esteem. So we really want to avoid this as much as possible. Take the promises you make to yourself as seriously as those you make to others.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 65 is all about the power of intention and expectation. I have combined these two powerhouse tools into one episode because they quite often work hand in hand and we have the tendency to mix the two up without realizing it. This unfortunately can lead to disappointment and frustration. The great thing about this holiday time of year is that it gives everyone a reset if you will. A chance to tap into spirit and intentions of living up to our highest potential going forward. That is always a win in my book.So when we apply intention to goals and goal setting it allows for the achievement of those goals much easier than if we set an expectation to achieve them. Expectation tends to rely on attachment to outcomes. And to some degree that is fine when you are relying on YOUR abilities alone to do something, but not when you try to put those expectations on others. That is when we get ourselves into trouble. The biggest thing expectation can do for you is encourage you to raise the bar on what you are capable of.You will learn: - A few definitions, what intention and expectation are, what they can both do for you, some ways you can use them in your life Erma Bombeck once said- “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say- ‘I used everything you gave me.” I love that!! And that is what we should be aiming for all the time. That is what the personal development tools of expectation and intention can help you to achieve.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 64 returns to my Personal Development Greats series with the amazing Earl Nightingale. Like so many other mentors I have had on my personal development journey Earl came into my life as a result of learning about him from another mentor. This teacher is Bob Proctor. I spoke about him in Episode 63 and Episode 56. I have always said that teachers show up when we the student are ready to learn from them and that was definitely the case with Earl. Even though I have known about him for quite some time now, it has only been within the last year that I have begun to really look at his work and him as a person. I think one of the reasons for this is that I have come to a place with personal development that I am much more deliberate in what I am practicing and have become laser-focused on certain things that I am trying to achieve for myself. Earl Nightingale offers those things that I am focused on right now. Namely success in business and life. You will learn: A little bit about Earl's life, some of his accomplishments, about some of his well-known programs, what he was passionate about, and how you can apply it to your own life Earl Nightingale spent a lifetime figuring out what makes people successful and how to apply that to your own life. He is considered one of the greatest philosophers of modern time and listening to just one of his audio recordings will show you why. Take the time to listen and learn as much as you can. Not just from Earl but from lots of different teachers. The time you spend on your personal growth will pay you back 10 fold.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 63 dives into learning about our 6 mental faculties and how to strengthen them. This week's episode continues on the great vibe that we have been on and really dives into our minds and how amazing they really are. As I told you right from the start with episode 1 your mindset is where everything starts and that is why it is CRUCIAL to spend as much time as possible strengthening that. The first time I ever heard about our 6 higher mental faculties was from Mary Morrisey of the Brave Thinking Institute. She is another personal development great that I will be sharing more about with you in an upcoming episode. She introduced these to me in a email that was highlighting a new program that her and Bob Proctor had put together called the Magic in Your Mind. I have put a link to this program below. That program and what I have been learning about these faculties and my personal experience with tapping into them are the inspiration for this episode. You will learn- The 6 higher mental faculties, what they bring to your life and how they work with each other, a few ways to strengthen each of them, how to work with them in conjunction with everything else we have been talking about Once again the word possibility is the star here in this episode. It is in the possibilities where all of the magic of life exists. Where the life you want to create for yourself exists. Emily Dickenson said- “I dwell in possibilities” well me too and that is where I want you to dwell also. Stretch your mind and new doors will always open. Episode 62 explores the topic of potential. One of my goals for this podcast right from the beginning was to encourage anyone who listens to be their absolute best. When you do that you will never have to worry about not living up to your potential. Spirit is always for expansion and fuller expression and that can be seen in every living thing. The worst thing we can do is to waste our time here on earth. This hurts not only us, but all of those people we could be affecting in a positive way when we bring our best. During his abundance meditation, Bob Proctor mentions potential a few times and he says this: If you can hold it in your head you can hold it in your hand. I love this!! And it is so true- You will learn - The meaning of potential and what tapping into it in your life looks like, how the law of attraction works with it, a funny story, a few ways to help you unlock your potential The words potential and possibility are two of my FAVORITE words. To me they are magical powerful words that have the ability to open the doors to that untapped creative energy that lives in all of us. Episode 61 dives into the topic of abundance. This has been something that I have been spending quite a bit of time on lately to get a better understanding of its place in our lives and to be able to tap into the feeling of it at will. Being able to use abundance to direct your life in in a certain way is a powerful and perfectly positive technique.Quite often when most people think of abundance we tend to think about the material aspect of it, you know- a lot of stuff. When really abundance it's more of a feeling and a mindset. So here is what my definition of abundance is: it's the feeling of freedom in all its forms- spiritual, physical and mental that comes from being in complete agreement with our source energy. It is well being in its purest form and absolutely attainable by everyone. You will learn - The different types of abundance, how the law of attraction works with it, the powerful role of satisfaction. a few ways to help you tap into the feeling of abundanceAbundance is really our spirits natural state. That is why it feels so good when we can tap into it. LOL it really is a natural high if you will. Everything starts out with finding satisfaction, however small it may be, with your life right now. Find one thing to feel satisfied about even if it's your minds ability to think and dream and keep going from there. The momentum will build and you will soon be attracting more and more things to feel satisfied and abundant about.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 60 shares with you 12 game changing ways that personal development teaches you to think. Everything starts with our thoughts and our thinking process. Our mindset is so powerful which is why we need to make sure that it is always working for us and not against us. When you understand and a lot of times uncover how you have been thinking about things that's when you are able to make real changes for yourself. To really take control of your mind and therefore your destiny. I can't believe that I have reached episode 60! With each milestone episode that I put out, I am just reenergized and excited all over again about this podcast. I fall in love all over again with personal development and am more determined than ever to continue to share its amazing powers with others. You will learn - My favorite definition of personal development, how amazing and brilliant your mind really is, 12 ways to up-level your thinking process, that you are in control of your destiny Every moment of every day is an opportunity to be present. To participate in this incredible human experience. To choose your thoughts , words and actions. To remember who you really are and the magnificent source energy we are all a part of. Episode 59 celebrates the brilliant habit of motivation. People are driven by motivation to do all sorts of things both good and bad. It is a powerful tool to have in your personal development tool box and one worth strengthening. Once you learn to call on it at will and use it ‘consistently', there's that word again, you will be able to accomplish amazing things in your life. Being fascinated by motivation, I have found personally and through a bit of study that we are really driven by two things- goals and crisis. It really comes down to the pleasure or pain factor. We humans really aren't that hard to figure out. Personally I prefer the goal oriented drive vs the crisis kind, which is why in episode 41 I shared all about the magic of goal setting. They give you the ability to produce things in an impressive way. To honor your spirit by growing and expanding. You will learn - What's behind the drive of motivation, what influences the degree of it, how to sustain it over the long haul, a few ways to help you put your motivation on autopilot, where resilience fits itI have found that when people tend to be struggling with motivation and just being stuck in life it is because of a lack of goals! Once you embrace regular goal setting you won't want to stop and your motivation engine will be on fire. Seeing the progress you make week after week in itself is a great motivation booster and confidence builder.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Episode 58 brings a new aspect to the relationship you have with yourself by encouraging you to strengthen your trust in you. One of the most important aspects in any relationship is trust and this includes the relationship you have with yourself. All to often having trust in ourselves is a challenge- which is crazy when you think about. After-all nobody knows you better than you do! I break this episode down into two parts the why and the how. Why its important to trust in yourself and how you can go about strengthening that. I always want to make sure to give you ideas and ways to use personal development to enhance your life so the how's are important to achieve that.So the goal of this episode is to help you connect better with the most important part of you, your spirit. You will learn - Quick definition of trust to set the tone, 4 whys, 3 hows and a quick recapNorman Vincent Peale once said “Believe in yourself and have faith in your abilities! Without humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy.” He is absolutely correct. Even I have to remind myself regularly that I hold all the answers already within me. That I have the power to move through whatever obstacles show up along my path. #057 Episode 57 returns to the area of relationships and this time it is with spirit. So I have managed to combine two of my favorite areas of personal development into one episode! So it will be twice as impactful for you. Big promise I know, but it will deliver. And that's only because I have been guided by spirit to bring you the message contained in this podcast episode. The message you hear may be different from what someone else hears and that is by design, spirits design. God will always bring you exactly what you need when you need it. You have heard me talk about spirit since the very first episode of Kickass Every Day and that is because at the end of the day spirit is really what its all about. Your relationship with your inner being or spirit is never-ending. It is eternal and it is what connects us to every other spirit in the universe and ultimately God. So the goal of this episode is to share with you the magic of Bob Proctor and what he can do for you. So the goal of this episode is to help you connect better with the most important part of you, your spirit. We will learn - Why I keep coming back to certain topics, some benefits of connecting with your spirit, a few ways to help you connect, the importance of deepening this relationshipTalking about spirit and how it is the most amazing part of us gives me a pleasure like no other. The opportunity to share what I know and to help others along their spiritual path always puts me in the highest vibration possible. It's always when I am in complete agreement with my own spirit. #056 Episode 56 brings you another personal development great- Bob Proctor. I was first introduced to Bob back in 2006. Vic Johnson from AsAManThinketh.net, another person in the personal development space released a program called Claim Your Power Now. It featured Jim Rohn, Bob Proctor and a few others. It was while listening to these CD's that I discovered the amazing teachings of Bob. Bob showed up in my life in 3 significant ways. One through the Claim Your Power Now program, then with his collaboration with Mary Morrisey on the Working With the Law program based off of Raymond Holliwell's book of the same name and then in the move The Secret. Even though Bob is going go to be 87 next week, he is still going strong. In fact I just participated in a weeklong online seminar with Bob a few weeks ago!So the goal of this episode is to share with you the magic of Bob Proctor and what he can do for you.We will learn - A little bit about Bob's background, his teachings and work, what he has studied intently for the last 50 years, some of the ways he has influenced my lifeBob is really a mindset coach if you will. He has spent the bulk of his career studying how the mind works and why people do what they do. Bob like me was greatly influenced by two books. Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich and Wallace Wattles book The Science of Getting Rich. It was Earl Nightingale who became his greatest mentor and really set him on the path of being a personal development great. Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! #055 Episode 55 brings the focus to personal developments ability to amplify things in our life. Why amplify? I know this has become somewhat of a buzz word lately, but when you look at the definition of amplify which I'm about to share with you, it became obvious to me how perfectly the two words work together. This definition comes from Merriam-Webster: It means to expand (something, such as a statement) by the use of detail or illustration or by closer analysis or to make larger or greater (as in amount, importance, or intensity) : in other words INCREASE, increase the strength or amount especially to make something louder. In fact until recently when I thought of an amplifier it was always associated with music, right? But after reading that definition I can see how perfectly personal development , works with the word amplify. So the goal of this episode is to share with you 5 things that personal development helps amplify for you when you practice it daily. We will talk about- My ‘big 5' things, some personal examples for you, a few last words of encouragementAs with every podcast episode that I do, it's for the sole purpose or ‘soul' purpose
#054 Episode 54 is all about the ties between personal development and freedom and is designed to get you to stop and think for a moment. Hmm are there really ties between them? Without a doubt and I can’t wait to share them with you. With the observance of Memorial Day this week, I thought this would be a great time to do this episode. I value the freedom we have here in the U.S. and love our country. Yes I am a patriot. Did you know that the personal development movement was started here in America as well? It really shouldn’t come as any surprise. Only in a country founded on the ideas of freedom could such a thing as the personal development movement be born.So the goal of this episode is to show you how personal development so beautifully aligns with the freedom and ideas that America was founded upon. - We will talk about- The history of the personal development movement, the ties between personal development and freedom, a few things that personal development can help you with that I haven’t talked about before
#053 Episode 53 dives into the beautiful gift of accountability. I call it a gift because it is something you can give to yourself and to others. If one looks around our world these days it’s easy to see how a lack of accountability has become a cancer in our society. But it is up to the individual to change this. And this is doable!!If you are a parent, then you already know what happens when a child does something they know they shouldn’t or aren’t allowed to and there is no consequence for it. They will most likely do it again, and again, and again! Kids are smart enough to remember these things. Well the same goes for adults in this world and sadly we see evidence of this every day on the news.So the goal of this episode is to show you what the gift of accountability can do for you and what a lack of it can cause. We will talk about- What accountability can do for you, what a lack of accountability can cause in society as a whole, what a lack of it can cause on an individual level, few final encouraging words
#052 Episode 52 is all about becoming more comfortable talking about money and the reasons behind that. As we wind down Financial Literacy month I really wanted to spend a little time focusing on the area of finance when it comes to personal development. As you know, since I started Kickass Every Day, I try to devote one episode every couple of months to this area.Financial Literacy month has actually become one of my favorites because it is so important that we understand how to have a good working relationship with money. How to earn it, spend it, save it, invest it and grow it. There are so many Americans who are just completely lacking in financial education and because of that, have been hit really hard during this past year. This episode is all about the conversation around money. So the goal of this episode is to encourage you to become more comfortable talking about money and the reasons behind that. We will talk about- - A few reasons as to why you might be uncomfortable talking about money and a few reasons why you NEED to change that. When it comes to your money, you need to be your own best advocate. You need to work to improve your self-esteem and confidence in this area of your life. This is absolutely doable. There are so many great free resources on the internet and I have listed some of them below. I have shared some things from my own journey and growth in this area in several episodes now. Being able to understand and actively participate in your own financial future is so important and a necessity that our kids need to know.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! #051 Episode 51 is here and we are rapidly approaching the end of April. Crazy right? So I was supposed to be using this last week as a content planning week. I had put the time aside, took a week off my podcast to devote to it and guess what? NOTHING. No matter how many times I sat down and tried, no matter how much meditation or inspiring music I listened to, I just could not make anything happen. It doesn’t happen to me very often, but when it does it is super frustrating for me. When this occurs I know that God is trying to tell me to turn things over to him for a bit. So that’s what I’m doing. Almost immediately after making this decision I felt such a release from the frustration and anxiety that had been plaguing me. So if you are ever facing this kind of thing do what I did and let the universe lead you to where you need to go. Anyway, back to this week’s episode! Personal philosophy. The very first time I heard about this was from my favorite personal development mentor Jim Rohn, when listening to his Art of Exceptional Living. Here is what he said about it- “Philosophy is the major determining factor in how your life works out.”That is huge. And this is something that you absolutely have control over.So the goal of this episode is to share with you what a personal philosophy is and to encourage you to come up with your own.We will talk about- The importance of your personal philosophy, the difference between failure and success, a few questions to help you figure out your personal philosophy, what mine is
#050 Episode 50 is here can you believe it!! I am so excited to be sharing my 50th episode of Kickass Every Day with you. Yeah baby! Since this is a milestone I really wanted to make sure it was meaningful and beneficial to anyone who listened. That it would further your understanding of personal development and advance the world of personal development as a whole. If you were to Google ‘principles of personal development’ (like I did) all kinds of things come up. And this is one of the reasons that I have made it my life’s vision and really mission to bring clarity and organization to the personal development world. So my top 5 principles, to me are really the core building blocks if you will of personal development. The foundation of so many others. So the goal of this 50th episode is to share with you my top 5 principles of personal development in the hopes of giving you a good foundation for practicing it.We'll talk about- The reason why I chose these principles, the 5 principles, a little bit about each one of them, what applying these principles to the 6 areas of personal development that I focus on will do for you This episode is one that I have been planning for awhile and one that I hope will leave you with a renewed sense that personal development can absolutely work for you. That when you practice it diligently the benefits will pay you back for the rest of your life. When you embrace personal development as a lifestyle like I have you will never be without direction again. You will always have the ability to make your life exactly as you want it to be. #049 The 49th episode of Kickass Every Day is here and continues my Personal Development Greats series with two new people. This episode highlights two greats in the world of personal finance that have really helped me to raise my financial IQ and expand my financial vocabulary like no else. They are Suze Orman and Robert Kiyosaki. As we are closing out women’s history month I really wanted to highlight a woman who has made a significant impact in the personal finance world and really has helped millions of people take charge of their personal finances. As you know finance is one of the areas of personal development that myself and others focus on so I would be remiss by not including some greats from this area in this series. Both Suze and Robert have the ability to speak to people about money in a way that the average person can understand. So the goal of this episode is to share with you two people who have made a significant difference in my life in the world of personal finance and will speak to you where you are at.We will talk about- A little bit about Suze, what you can learn from her, a little bit about Robert, what I learned from him, what I love about both of them Both Suze and Robert have made it their mission to educate and empower people when it comes to their personal finances. Something that I am forever grateful for. They are not the only teachers out there and I have certainly read many other books since theirs. You should always look for different perspectives on any subject that you are studying and then determine for yourself what works best for you. #048 The 48th episode of Kickass Every Day talks about those things that define you as an individual. To make sure that you are really showing and sharing with others the absolute best of you. Even though we all make mistakes and we all have flaws and sides to our personalities that are less then appealing, we are able to use those things and learn from them. To minimize them and use them to drive us to do better. After the year we are coming off of, I really started thinking about what I am going to have all of this mean to me. What do you want all of this to mean to you? We have all been tested spiritually, financially, mentally and physically, so it is up to us to rise above and use it to our advantage. So the goal of this episode is to get you to really look at your life and make sure that you are being as intentional as you want to be and defining your life the way you want to. We will talk about- Character, the six pillars of character, a few questions to ask yourself, reverse engineering, some more examples of the things that define youThese are just a few ways for you to define yourself. That others may define you by. One important thing to remember is that you absolutely have control of this. You certainly don’t have to change everything overnight. That isn’t possible anyway! It took a lifetime to get to this current place you are it. So if there are things you would like to change, pick one thing and start with that. #047 The 47th episode of Kickass Every Day celebrates the one year anniversary of my podcast (yay!!!) and honors the start of Women’s History Month, by sharing with you some of what the Girl Scout organization has given me. I really wanted this anniversary episode to be special for lots of reasons and when I realized it coincided with the start of Women’s History Month I knew I had my direction. The Girl Scout Organization is near and dear to my heart. It really has shaped my character more than any other influence in my life. It has done that for millions of girls since its inception in 1912. On their website it shares that its founder, Juliette Gordon Low envisioned an organization that would prepare girls to meet their world with courage, confidence, and character. Well mission accomplished. So the goal of today’s episode it to share with you what the wonderful organization of Girl Scouts gave me as child that I still carry with me today. #045 The 45th episode of Kickass Every Day explores how the human spirit because of all its magnificent qualities is able to overcome the magnitude of some family traumas. Your family is supposed to be a safe haven. The place where the problems of the ‘outside world’ don’t exist. NOT! Ideally, yes that would be perfect but let’s face it, nothing is perfect. EVERY family has issues and often times is dysfunctional on some level. But when that level reaches a trauma state it’s devastating. This episode was actually suggested to me by one of my listeners and I’m glad she did. It is allowing me to share not only her story but that of my cousin Dee Gillen as well. I am super grateful to them for allowing me to share their stories with all of you. Their family traumas reached a high level and while they are completely different, both of these amazing women share similar qualities that have helped them survive and find the courage to move forward in life.So the goal of today’s episode it to share with you how even when we are faced with the unbelievable challenges that come with a family trauma our human spirit is able to persevere and use the experience of that trauma to help others. We will talk about- How this episode came about, the devastating story of my friend, how she overcame her trauma, the devastating story of my cousin, how she has overcome her trauma, what these two awesome women have in common My hope when you hear their stories is that you will feel inspired by them. That you will feel encouraged in your own life knowing that your human spirit when and if called upon can overcome some of the most challenging circumstances. These two women epitomize what personal development means. And if they can rise above their own pain and find ways to give back and help others then we all can
#045 The 45th episode of Kickass Every Day brings you the 4th installment of my series Personal Development Greats. This episode features two gentlemen! Dale Carnegie and Napoleon Hill. There is a reason for me combining these two gentlemen in this one episode. They are contemporaries of each other meaning they lived at the same time. So their perspectives are from the same time period. They both lived through the great depression and managed to be successful and share that knowledge with others.Clearly their messages to people of all walks of life have staying power and resonate with their readers. Readers just like me and I hope after listening to this, just like you. I discovered something interesting when preparing for this episode, a timeline. If you remember I talked about the personal development book that has made the biggest impact on me is The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles. Now that book was published in 1910, Napoleon Hills book was published in 1936 and Dale Carnegies was published in 1937. All of them were contemporaries of each other with Wattles being the oldest. All of them were born within 28 years of each other and they all talk about financial and personal success and how to achieve that.So the goal of this episode is to introduce you to these two amazing personal development greats whose lives overlapped and how they with their own perspectives on being successful have managed to influence people over the last 85 or so years. We will talk about- Napoleon Hill’s beginnings, how Think and Grow Rich came about, the magic of this book, Dale Carnegie’s beginnings, how Dale’s How to Win Friends and Influence People came about and the magic of this book :)Both of these amazing gentlemen offer amazing insights into not only personal development but really personal and financial success and what that means for you. Their messages and lessons are timeless. For me and many, many others, all three of the amazing books that I have mentioned- The Science of Getting Rich, Think and Grow Rich and How to Win Friends and Influence People have led to the success I have had with personal development. Each adding and building upon the other.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! Also, invite your friends to join the conversation as well so they can be a part of the fun. #044 The 44th episode of Kickass Every Day highlights the importance of being openminded and dives deep into the benefits of this critical thinking skill along with some ways to improve yours. The reason for me talking about this subject is because of the level of censorship that is taking place in this country today. No matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, censorship is a problem for everyone. Just because your side isn’t being silenced and censored right now doesn’t mean it won’t be tomorrow.Being openminded opens doors for you. Doors of new ideas, new perspectives and new voices. It allows you to be less judgmental of others and situations. The definition of openminded is it means one is willing to consider new ideas, be unprejudiced, unbiased. It means one has a willingness to search actively for evidence against one’s favored beliefs, plans or goals and to weigh such evidence fairly when it is available. Make sure to keep that definition in mind not only while listening to this podcast but also as you go throughout your day.So the goal of this episode is to show you the importance of having an open mind and how practicing personal development helps you to do this.We will talk about- The problem of censorship, the different doors that being openminded opens up for you, how when you are openminded you are not driven by the burden of fear, a few more benefits of being openminded, a few ways for you to improve your open-mindedness Being openminded has really made a difference for me in most aspects of my life. This has been especially true when meeting new people and in every job that I have ever had. It definitely adds to my happiness in life because I recognize the benefits of listening to many different voices and points of view. Never be afraid of growing and expanding your own point of view and resist the need to silence others who disagree with you.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe! #043 The 43rd episode of Kickass Every Day brings us back to the area of relationships and focuses on the one we have with our kids. Even if you don’t have kids right now, we’ve all had parents or someone who filled that role for us. And hey maybe one day you will have children or the opportunity to mentor a young person. Either way having a set of personal development tools in your toolbox to help you flourish in these relationships will go far and wide for you.I can’t stress to you enough how powerful practicing personal development in your life can be when it comes to these parental type relationships. . I was fortunate to find personal development early in life. Now it wasn’t quite early enough when I had my son at 19, but if you remember I first discovered it when I was 23 and that was a year after I had my middle daughter. So by the time I had my youngest daughter at the age of 33, you can be sure I had learned a lot in those 10 years. My attitude towards parenting alone had changed tremendously. So the goal of this episode is to show you how using personal development in your life will help you to be the best parent you can be.We will talk about- My aha moment around my role as a parent, some important things about being a parent, a few ways for you to use personal development in parenting, some final words of encouragement
#042 The 42nd episode of Kickass Every Day is all about Neale Donald Walsh. This is the 3rd in my Personal Development Greats series. Neale really is more of a spiritual teacher then personal development teacher. But as you know, spirituality is number two in my 6 areas of personal development that I talk about. Personal development is about the whole person and that includes our spirit. So I would be remiss if I did not share with you the person who has had the biggest influence on me in this area.Neale is the author of the highly successful Conversations With God book series along with a host of other books, movies, programs etc. In fact his Conversations with God series kept him on the NY Times best seller list for 137 weeks. That’s 2 ½ years!! His books have been transcribed into 37 different languages and he has spoken all over the world, reaching millions of people. Can you guess how I found Neale? LOL, once again the movie The Secret delivered me an amazing teacher. So the goal of this episode is to introduce you to someone whom I would consider my spiritual mentor. We will talk about- A little bit about Neale’s background, how his Conversations With God books came to be, a little bit about what you may learn from them, the most important take away from Neale’s work I can honestly say that Neale’s books are for everyone. Why is that? Because as you have heard me mention a time or two now
#041 The 41st episode of Kickass Every Day is all about the magic of goal setting. Super excited to be bringing you this episode. It was one of the original topic ideas that I wrote down way back in February and I have just been waiting or the right moment to record it. When I thought it would be the most impactful for you. And there is no better time to set goals then when we are ending one year and beginning a new one. So I hope this helps you to start your year off on the right foot!I say that goals are magical because they give you the ability to produce results in an impressive way. So what it is about goals that I love so much? It’s that you are in control of them. By setting goals you are deciding your future and how you are going to get there. A big part of living your life on purpose is to have a plan- remember what I said about plans? No plan means someone else planning for you and that is NOT what we want.So the goal of this episode is to get you to be excited about the power and magic of goal setting and to encourage you to use this incredible tool in your life.We will talk about- The 3 boxes that need to be checked off for your goals to be successful, the two components of a compelling goal, one more way to use goals effectively, some words from Jim Rohn on goal settingThere is another reason I saved this episode for now. Two of my personal development mentors that have really shaped my goal setting viewpoint and driven home the importance of goals have been none other then Jim Rohn and Tony Robbins. So this is the perfect way to round out my Personal Development Greats in that first area of personal development that I always talk about- your mindset. I hope that you will see and utilize the power of goal setting in your life as well.Continue with me on this journey and subscribe!
