In this episode, I am joined by Kristen Nagle, who is a former registered nurse. She was a registered nurse for 14 years and primarily worked in the NICU. It is said that our children forever change us and Kristen experienced this more than she ever knew possible. After the birth of her first son, she became really passionate about the food for her children and how she was nourishing and taking care of them. She ended up enrolling in the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where I actually graduated from in 2001. She became a Holistic Nutritionist on top of being a nurse working in the conventional medical care system. Her second son had some issues after being born and being exposed to some of his early childhood immunizations, which really opened her eyes up, especially working in that industry. It really just, peeled off this kind of top layer of us being able to, as parents, as mothers, ask questions when our child's body is exhibiting something that would feel outside of the norm of our baby. Then in having her third baby, her little girl, this really felt like her redemption birth, which would forever change the perception of how incredibly strong women are and the beautiful gift that we have been given in motherhood. So now her passion has transformed from being inside the walls of the hospital and being out into the world and helping women find their power to truly reclaim their birth. Let's dive in! What about the sugar? The caffeine? The alcohol? Is it ok to buy or does it need to be homemade? If we buy it, what do we look for on the label? What is “sugar free” kombucha? Is Kombucha really as healthy as people say? What if you have candida overgrowth? In fact, it may help curb alcohol cravings.Guest Bio:Hannah Crum, aka “The Kombucha Mamma,” pioneered Kombucha Kamp, an educational workshop, in 2004 out of her small Los Angeles kitchen. In Canada, some of the country's largest school boards are taking legal action against Snapchat, Meta and TikTok. Accusing them of promoting cyberbullying, harassment, hate speech and misinformation, the school boards say these social networks are all knowingly "harmful applications" for children. The schools concerned are seeking $4.5 billion in compensation, a change in the algorithm of the apps and a strengthened parental control system. The initiative isn't supported by the government of Ontario province, where it originated, but its announcement quickly spread across the country. FRANCE 24's François Rihouay reports, with Fraser Jackson.

Something as complicated as starting a medical school is bound to include unanticipated obstacles, but few schools can match the roller coaster ride of the American Canadian School of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Dominica which just welcomed its first class of students. Our Raise the Line guest, Dr. Ramin Ahmadi, along with colleagues from Yale and Penn State medical schools, had worked for years to design an innovative curriculum and train faculty for a new medical school in Kazan, Russia. Then came Russia's invasion of Ukraine. “Because of the war, we had to pull out. That was the end of the project at that point and we were all very sad,” Ahmadi tells host Shiv Gaglani. Tune in to learn how the project was given new life and how Ahmadi and his team are meeting the needs and preferences of modern students with a flipped-classroom, case-based approach to education. You'll also hear about ACSOM's different approach to clinical training, new model for residency programs and other innovations. And be sure to stay tuned to hear about his remarkable experiences in global health and human rights, and gain from his insights on how physicians can protect themselves from burnout.Mentioned in this episode: https://www.acsom.edu.dm
Rob Metcalfe's guiding principle is that leadership is not just an individual pastime; rather it needs to be embedded at all levels within and across organisations so those closest to the need can meet it in an aligned and autonomous way. This belief stems from his career in the military where alignment between Headquarters, Operations Rooms and the person on the ground is so vital, whether on conventional or alternate activities. The strength of this belief was forged in both peacetime activities and operational theatres that included the Falklands War and various roles in Northern Ireland.Since then, he has dedicated his career to enabling leadership at every level through consulting, facilitation, training and coaching. He encourages people to think and respond through the lens of self, others and the system, proactively and consciously choosing where their focus should be. This is achieved by creating clear goals alongside simple habits and routines that enable consistency between a person, team or organisation's inner and outer games. This experience includes 14 years as CEO of LIW, expanding the organisation from start up to global leadership consultancy, preceded by 14 years as an officer in the Royal Marines Commandos. More recently he spent 3 years as a Partner with Denali Venture Partners and he now operates as an associate and investor to his previous organisations, as well as an independent consultant to a small number of other purposeful organisations across sectors and throughout the world. He is motivated by organisations that have a positive impact and has recently concentrated on working with the UN World Food Program across Africa and the Middle East including working with leadership teams and operational leaders in Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Syria and Somalia. He also works with the Kids Cancer Project in Australia who are dedicated to saving childrens' lives though investment in cancer research.Rob and his team held the world building abseil record in 1992 for scaling to, and abseiling from, the upper deck of the CN Tower in Toronto, alongside a team from the Canadian School of Rescue Training. He was also “Mentioned in Dispatches” during his service, acknowledging that this was due to the efforts of the leaders and the people he had the good fortune to command.Rob sees how neuroscience is proving what was previously only a belief about good leadership practice. Many of his top tips are based on this truth. His top tip for your reflection is to “do whatever you want but know what you are doing”. He picked this quote up from someone else and has since observed that it is often not the case! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Mike Ramsay was friends with former Toronto principal Richard Bilkszto, whose suicide after allegedly enduring false bigotry accusations in an anti-racism session has shocked Canadians. And Ramsay says he's experienced similar vilification. He's been called a “white supremacist.” He's been suspended as a school trustee in Waterloo, Ont. He says it's because he fights to keep schools focused on learning and achievement, not identity politics and radical race theory. He also happens to be Black. Ramsay joins Brian this week to discuss how Canadians can take school boards back from the extremists who want to teach political indoctrination over skills, and won't stop until they've silenced all dissent. Roslyn Kent is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist living in Vancouver, BC. She specializes in the microbiome and gut health and helps ambitious women struggling with IBS and similar imbalances conquer their symptoms through evidence based, plant based nutrition strategies when conventional medicine has failed them.Roslyn suffered from IBS herself for over 10 years, and despite seeing countless practitioners, she wasn't give the solutions or the information she needed to tackle her symptoms at a microbiome level. In 2018, Roslyn took her health into her own hands and enrolled in the Natural Nutrition Program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. There, she realized what the missing piece was in her health journey: no one was talking about nutrition or how your food choices and lifestyle significantly impact your microbiome.Today, Roslyn works with women globally who are struggling with gut health imbalances to implement evidence based nutrition, lifestyle and supplement strategies so they can restore their relationship with food and get back to the activities they love. When Roslyn isn't working with clients online, you can find her in the mountains backcountry skiing, hiking in the alpine, or mountain biking.www.plantsfirst.cawww.Facebook.com/groups/thehealthygutsolutionwww.instagram.com/plantsfirstnutritionhttps://www.tiktok.com/search?q=plants%20first%20nutrition&t=1682870253246Her fave probiotic is found here www.seed.com/daily-synbiotic and you can use code ROSLYNKENT15 for a discount.*******************I recommend checking out my comprehensive pelvic health education and fitness programs on my Buff Muff AppYou can also join my next 28 Day Buff Muff Challenge https://www.vaginacoach.com/buffmuffIf you are feeling social you can connect with me… On Facebook https://www.facebook.com/VagCoachOn Instagram https://www.instagram.com/vaginacoach/On Twitter https://twitter.com/VaginaCoachOn The Web www.vaginacoach.com

Today's episode is with Canadian unschooling advocate, Tasha Fishman: Coach / Mentor + Advocate and fearless Truth teller. Tasha describes herself as a regular mama who unleashed her kids from the formal education system to complete Freedom to learn organically. Tasha has three boys and has been unschooling her two youngest sons since waking up to the absurdity of public health and public school back in May 2020. She has studied and been coached personally by Dayna Martin, the founder of Radical Unschooling to become an “Unschooling Advocate” and free her children and herself from the bondage of institutionalized slavery. When she started, she had no idea that this path would radically transform the way that she parents, how she advocates for children's rights and how she views the world in general. Her pursuit for Freedom within our own country has led her to question and investigate every system that has raised us and ask the fundamental question: Who does this benefit? This episode will definitely be polarizing - but hear me out. I wanted to have this discussion because things are moving rapidly in Canada [and likely in other first world nations]. The curriculum, the system and the transfer of power from parent to institution is part of an agenda that is extremely blatant and brazen. In this interview I found myself scrambling for words in parts of this episode. Everything is a hot button topic and as it's designed, woke culture will label you as a homophobe, racist, misogynist and anti-everything. It's the cancel culture zone – but as I know it, these are the tough conversations that we need to be having. You definitely don't need to agree with what we talk about here - but how wonderful if you'd give it a listen. In my opinion: If we don't lean in to more of these conversations, as parents we'll be cast aside and our government will continue (yes, I said continue) to take on more ownership over our children. Sometimes you just don't know what you don't know and frankly, so much of what's happening in the classroom has nothing to do with well intentioned teachers and faculty. It goes way beyond that. So, here's me opening the door to a deeper awareness of things that are already happening in our Canadian education system and as Tasha says, “Don't take her word for it”. You can reach out to Tasha for resources. Question everything and be open to changing our perception of what's happening. I deeply appreciate Tasha's wise voice and her willingness to be one of the humans who goes first. A few highlights of today's episode: Tasha answers the question, “Is our education system failing our children?” + how Tasha's journey from homeschooling to unschooling mom + advocate. The difference between homeschooling and unschooling. What's going on in the school system that so many parents are unaware of. Why there have been so many shifts in the curriculum [especially in the last few years] and where that really comes from, historically. The roots and history of our ‘modern' compulsory education system. How teachers, principals and education assistants are typically well-intentioned pawns in the system. The separation of child from parent Tasha's recommendation to research everything she shares in this episode and in her work. The transgenderism movement in the school system. How to change this and advocate for what our children truly need. Tasha shares the globalist agenda and how schooling plays a part in it. WEBSITE / INSTAGRAM More About Tasha Fishman “I am a regular mama who unleashed our kids from the formal education system to complete Freedom to learn organically. I have three boys and I have been unschooling my two youngest sons since waking up to the absurdity of public health and public school back in May 2020. I have studied and been coached personally by Dayna Martin, the founder of Radical Unschooling to become an “Unschooling Advocate” and free my children and myself from the bondage of institutionalized slavery. To sum it up: Unschooling is a philosophy and a lifestyle where you put the needs and interests of your children first before the needs of an institutionalized curriculum which adheres to a teacher, who answers to a principal, who reports to a Board, who complies to our government, who follows the WEF, who ultimately serve the elite ruling class families who control all of us! It's time to break that chain…We are not Free until we are All Free and that includes our children. I offer weekly group parenting coaching calls, private coaching sessions and I am happy to share my story through various mediums. Feel free to like my Instagram page for all parents (Unschoolers & Homeschoolers) alike to connect, share resources and create meetups. I know that we can create a great community for ourselves and our children outside of the school system.” SCHOOL DETOX KIT – IT'S FREE What will I learn? There is a peaceful alternative to Forced Learning. There is a way to live harmoniously with your children at home. You are more capable and competent than you think! Children can learn and thrive without curriculum and/or forced learning. Breaking down your own programming is the key to a successful transition. The 3 main dark agendas in Public schooling. How to handle an unsupportive spouse or family member. Radical shifts in perspective lead to radical shifts in lifestyle which has nothing to do with being privileged! Unschooling is a lifestyle stemming from a peaceful parenting paradigm. We are breaking free from an authoritative paradigm and into a partnership paradigm with our children.
