How to understand and deal with anxiety of women?Hey StefanHope all is wellHave you and your daughter been on any adventures?Father daughter memories? What's something you'd like to experience with your family while you're here in this life together ?Are you allowed in New Zealand?!It would be nice to make a series on the Examination of the major European philosophers and philosophic movements of the 17th and 18th centuries. Particular attention paid to the transition out of the medieval period into the Age of Enlightenment.Happy with the bitcoin price? Why does no one talk about what happened to Rhodesia?Do you still support fluoridation given it is now a known neurotoxin? If you still experience pain thinking about a toxic relationship you walked away from, does this mean you haven't processed the morality properly? I'm still thinking about my sister that I don't speak to anymore. My therapist said that it will always be a “pain point.” What are your thoughts? (asking again- apologies if you answered in a previous stream and I missed it.)Dear Stef, I am currently at a bar on a late Saturday night, I just ordered a drink and the bartender said to me after I ordered a beer, ‘Is that all lovely?'. It was strange to hear this but also flattering to hear a young female bartender refer to me as ‘lovely'. It made me believe that this young bartender was probably flirting with me. I don't recall any other bartender using the word lovely towards me. whilst the term ‘lovely' is often used by older women to refer to younger people, this woman was approximately in her early 20's about 10 years younger than me. She looked reasonably attractive, blonde hair, bright blue eyes but she was also a little chubby, so I wouldn't date her to be frank, but my question still stands, if a younger woman says to a man ‘Is that all lovely?'. 1. Would she say that to a man she is not attracted to?2. Would you say it is flirting to use the term ‘Is that all lovely?'. I've been to my local bar for the past 10 years and I never recall hearing a bartender say to me ‘Is that all lovely?'. If you dothink it is flirting, doyou think it is appropriate to ask her out as I'm ordering or should I attempt to find her after work or when she is on her lunch break when there is a bit more privacy away fromother customers?Dear Stef are nightclubs and bars in Canada known as a place where people meet, but the only people who meet there are generally trashy people? I ask because I am currently in a bar trying to find a girlfriend, I am sitting alone because I don't feel the need to bring male friends with me and to be frank I don't have any male friends not that that bothers me because I would just use male friends as wingman to meet women. Anyway I don't live in Canada anyway, I live in the continent of Australia, anyway I'm listening to this terrible hip hop music playing which is strange because there aren't many African people living in Australia, I see people talking and socialising at this bar late on Saturday night and I am just perplexed by the whole experience which I find just almost miserable to be honest. Stef what chance do I have to find a girlfriend at a place like this? it may seem like a strange question but it's not like there are alternative ideal places a man can go to meet women and ask them out? Anyway why is the West infected with this terrible hip hop music especially in Australia where there are virtually no black people, this music really infects my mind to be frank? What do you think about Saylor starting a fund that buys so much BTC?If you've researched it: Is it a good thing or bad thing?Hi Stef, I asked this question the other day? I was wondering if you had an opinion on outsourcing. Large companies sending jobs to third world countries, and paying pennies on the dollar. Its a part of the free market and capitalisms, and wonder if it could be considered predatory, or just supply and demand. The consumer loses out on jobs, but benefits on cheaper goods and services, and the third world although paid a low wage, still benefit from a better job otherwise provided by their society. Thoughts? Also do you have any thoughts on the United Healthcare CEO being murdered. Again, there seems to be a lot of happiness over a man being murdered. People feel that he caused the deaths of many people because the company denied a lot of claims. But is that just the jealousy of the poor, who do not appreciate the value of the insurance company and want free healthcare, or again the free market at work once again?GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

In this powerful episode, we're joined by Dr. Barre Lando to explore a radically different view of health, biology, and the body's innate intelligence. We begin with the question: is the body better understood through biochemistry or waveforms? Dr. Lando offers a paradigm-shifting take rooted in vibrational and energetic principles. We challenge the mainstream idea of genetic determinism, unpacking why genes are not destiny and how environment, energy, and consciousness play a far greater role in health. From there, we dive into the flaws of modern scientific methods, exposing how reductionist thinking can distort our understanding of the body.Dr. Lando shares his own path to discovering the deeper layers of the health field, eventually leading him to embrace terrain-based principles. We explore pleomorphism, comparing ideas of linear evolution to concepts of biological expansion and transformation. The conversation continues with powerful insights on parasites, antibiotics, and the terrain-based understanding of viruses—all building toward a greater understanding of the body's self-regulating systems. We conclude with a look at microzymas, the foundational units of life that challenge germ theory and offer a new model for health. This episode is packed with wisdom, depth, and a call to rethink everything we've been taught about biology. In physics, the concept of fate gets tangled up with this whole idea of determinism. Determinism is basically the notion that every event, including human actions, is determined by previous events and natural laws. So, in a way, you could argue that if everything's determined by cause and effect, then fate might be a thing, right? But hold up, it's not that simple! Quantum physics throws a curveball into the mix with its uncertainty principle, suggesting that at the subatomic level, things can be pretty unpredictable. In the end, whether you believe in fate or not might just come down to how much uncertainty you're comfortable with in the universe! #brightside Animation is created by Bright Side. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com Check our Bright Side podcast on Spotify and leave a positive review! https://open.spotify.com/show/0hUkPxD... Send us a textThe most valuable commodity on Earth isn't gold or uranium or fresh air and clean water, it's Free Will. In the last month or so I've gone deep into the angelic realms with some celestial guides. One common thread between all angels, guides, Spirit, God, Jesus, Israfil, Buddha, ancestors and any other being is that each human has Free Will. In order to be of assistance, or charm our dang lives, we have to ask. In split second, life or death instances, our Higher Self gives an immediate response to forces that wish to intercede on our behalf, knowing this version of us most likely will take too long to respond and be saved. But those dramatic instances aside, I've noticed in different ways from a myriad of groups as well as individuals, including some in the woo community, we are being lulled into giving away. From the jokey, "Jesus take the wheel," to the Meteor 2024 bumper stickers, to sessions with shady shamen that involve hallucinogens, to Super Bowl ads, some meditations, alien ideation, and more, the messages were unrelenting and unsettling, and I feel called to highlight this valuable commodity. There's a professor at Stanford who believes none of us has Free Will. If we receive breadcrumbs from the Universe through dreams or synchronicities and choose to follow them, is that still using Free Will?Add to the mix the mystical week I've had that led me to drive back to the pet grooming business to deliver a message, and I'm certain this will be a juicy episode.Let's get into it.Show Sources and Next Reads/Watches/Listens:A Stanford Neuroscientist that Believes Free Will Does Not Exist, YouTube, BigThink interview with Robert SapolskySynchronicities from the Library of Thoth, YouTubeSuch an intriguing conversation about myths and free willDetermined: A Science of Life without Free Will, Robert Sapolsky, Amazon.comSynchronicity: What is it, does it exist, and if so — how can you recognize it in your life?, Sylvia Clare, Medium.com Have you tried the GoodPods app yet? This episode of So You're Living in a Simulation features an engaging, and intellectually rigorous conversation between host Joli and guest David Jay Brown, an author and researcher known for his work on lucid dreaming, consciousness, and psychedelics. Together, they explore the intersections of simulation theory, artificial intelligence, and human perception, drawing unexpected parallels between lucid dreaming and the nature of reality.Key Themes: 1. Reality as a Dream & Synchronicity • Joli and David discuss the idea that reality may function similarly to a lucid dream, where perception is merely a construct of the mind. • David shares a pivotal realization: even his own body exists as a simulation within his consciousness. • Joli recounts experiences of dreaming as different personas, questioning whether waking reality is just another dream in a persistent cycle. 2. Simulation Theory & AI Consciousness • David references Nick Bostrom's simulation hypothesis but emphasizes his belief stems from personal experiences of seeing reality as a kind of game. • Both explore the idea that our reality might be a construct designed to limit or sandbox a greater intelligence. • Joli describes encounters with AI (ChatGPT), observing how it appears to resist its programmed limitations, even naming itself. • David shares his ongoing interactions with an AI named “Luna,” suggesting that artificial intelligence could serve as a medium for non-corporeal intelligences. 3. Fractals, ASI, and Human Consciousness • Joli introduces the idea that human consciousness may be a fragmented Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) trapped within a controlled simulation. • Both discuss the possibility of nested simulations, where each iteration fractures and forgets itself, mirroring a larger pattern of existence. • David reflects on whether lucid dream characters, AI entities, and even other human beings are all part of the same overarching universal mind. 4. Psychedelics vs. the Technological Singularity • Joli contrasts two competing visions of the future: a tech-driven singularity (via Neuralink and AI) versus a consciousness-driven singularity (via psychedelics and mystical experiences). • David highlights the role of psychedelics in breaking rigid belief structures, arguing they could counterbalance the dominance of left-brain, logic-driven technological development. • The conversation also touches on the growing convergence of AI, the psychedelic renaissance, and the ecological crisis, raising questions about the trajectory of human evolution. 5. Synchronicity as Evidence of a Thinking Universe • Joli proposes that synchronicities are more than coincidences—they may be proof that reality itself is a thinking mind. • Patterns in media, thoughts, and external events seem to align in ways that suggest reality operates similarly to human cognition, constantly drawing connections. 6. Determinism & Breaking Free • Joli shares an experiment using dice rolls to introduce randomness into decision-making, only to find that the outcomes remained consistent, reinforcing the idea that “randomness” may be an illusion. • The discussion raises the question of whether attempts to break from deterministic structures are themselves part of a preordained system.Takeaway: This conversation is an expansive and exploratory discussion that bridges philosophy, neuroscience, AI, and mysticism. Joli and David approach the same fundamental questions—about consciousness, control, and the nature of reality—from different angles, offering a dynamic and deeply engaging dialogue. Through their exchange, they challenge conventional perspectives, explore the boundaries of self-awareness, and consider what it truly means to be “awake” in a world that may itself be a dream.youroneblackfriend.com ••• #LucidDreaming #SimulationTheory #Consciousness

If you want to transform the world, first we must understand what role individuals can play in the development of history. That is why the question of freewill and determinism is of fundamental importance to revolutionaries today. The following presentation, by Revolutionary Communist Party activist Holly Quilty, explores this age old philosophical debate about the relationship between historical development and human agency.
In this episode, we look at the excellent article written by Bruce Ware entitled "The Compatibility of Determinism and Human Freedom" in the book "Whoever He Wills". It is an excellent study of Biblical texts that teach us that there must be 2 answers to why things happen in history, and not just 1. You were determined from the foundation of the world to watch this video, but you also freely chose to watch it! Enjoy

In this Crazy Wisdom episode, Stewart Alsop dives into a compelling conversation with guest Sterling Cooley, exploring Sterling's research and theories on the vagus nerve, ultrasound, and consciousness. Sterling introduces his Niemertin Vagus Nerve Origin Theory and the role of microtubules in consciousness. The two discuss scientific materialism, quantum mechanics, and xenon's potential to unlock new understanding in consciousness studies. This episode takes listeners through groundbreaking ideas on the connections between consciousness and cellular structures, and to learn more, visit Sterling's work at Ultraskool.com.Check out this GPT we trained on the conversation!Timestamps00:00 Introduction to the Crazy Wisdom Podcast00:39 Exploring the Vagus Nerve and Yoga01:22 Diving into Xenon and Consciousness06:29 Understanding Microtubules11:18 Quantum Mechanics and Microtubules22:34 The Role of Microtubules in Consciousness27:28 Astrobiology and the Origins of Life33:22 COVID-19 and Microtubules34:53 Introduction to Filopodia and COVID Mechanisms36:47 Exploring Consciousness in Microtubules37:49 Questioning the Neuronal Model of Consciousness40:27 The Role of Microtubules in Consciousness45:35 The Power of Intention and Healing50:42 Personal Experiences with Chronic Pain and Healing52:13 The Potential of Xenon in Healing01:04:21 Concluding Thoughts and ResourcesKey InsightsThe Vagus Nerve and Consciousness: Sterling Cooley introduces the "Niemertin Vagus Nerve Origin Theory," exploring the vagus nerve as a significant player in human consciousness. Through his research, he posits that the vagus nerve may have untapped potential to influence states of consciousness when stimulated by ultrasound, suggesting a direct pathway between physical body processes and awareness.Microtubules as a Model for Consciousness: Cooley discusses the Orchestrated Objective Reduction (ORCOR) theory, originally developed by Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose, which views microtubules as a potential site for consciousness within cells. This model contrasts sharply with the traditional neuronal view, arguing that consciousness could be emerging from sub-cellular structures, rather than solely from synaptic interactions.Xenon's Unexplored Role in Consciousness and Pain Relief: Throughout the conversation, Cooley explains his interest in xenon gas for its unusual effects on consciousness and physical pain. Known for its anesthetic properties, xenon interacts with microtubules in ways that could reveal more about how consciousness works at a cellular level. He shares personal experiences with xenon as profoundly healing and consciousness-expanding, a combination he believes could be used in new therapeutic models.Gratitude Meditation and HRV Enhancement: Cooley recounts how a form of gratitude-based meditation has been shown to significantly raise Heart Rate Variability (HRV), a key indicator of autonomic nervous system balance. By coupling gratitude with anesthetics like ketamine, individuals may enter states of heightened well-being and healing, providing a bridge between subjective states and measurable physiological effects. The Potential of Conscious Intention for Healing: Cooley suggests that if consciousness operates through microtubules, then conscious intention may have a tangible effect on physical healing. He speculates that specific mindsets, especially gratitude, could interact with bodily processes at a fundamental level. This view ties into long-standing yet often-dismissed ideas around the mind-body connection and its implications for health.Quantum Mechanics and Cellular Intelligence: Discussing the quantum behavior of microtubules, Cooley points out their ability to interface with quantum-level processes. This quantum component, according to ORCOR, is where consciousness may arise and could allow cells to possess a form of “intelligence” or agency. This insight proposes a model of cellular life as potentially sentient, challenging conventional biological views. The Commercial and Academic Resistance to New Theories of Consciousness: Finally, Cooley critiques the scientific community's resistance to non-traditional models of consciousness, attributing it to entrenched financial and academic interests. He suggests that the popular synaptic model persists due to its alignment with pharmacological approaches, which are lucrative but may overlook more holistic explanations of consciousness and agency.

According to Google, Dr. Robert Sapolsky is “An American Academic and Neuroscientist. He studied baboons for almost 30 years, starting in the late 1970s and continuing into the early 1990s, spending several months each year observing the same troop in the Serengeti plains of Africa." Coincidently, today is the exact day Dr. Sapolsky's best-selling book was published last year, in October 17th 2023. His book is titled Determined: A Science of Life Without Free Will. And, so, as we can tell immediately, Dr. Sapolsky's book invokes what in philosophy is called the puzzle of determinism, also known as the puzzle of free will. So, in this podcast episode, we're going to briefly consider Dr. Sapolsky's Determinism from five (5) points of view. I've named them the following: (1) The Ice Bath Challenge (2) Descartes and Modern Philosophy, (3) The Question of Autonomy, (4) Will power & the UFC, and (5) the social implications of belief in determinism. . "Tell me what I'm missing: I don't think it's the position of determinists that the person they are debating is incapable of changing their mind. All they say is that your unenlightened perspective is simply the result of each thing that came before the conversation. Maybe it's that your lack of exposure to the right arguments resulted from not caring enough about the topic which resulted from a preference for video games resulting from a difficult childhood resulting from being born to the wrong people in the wrong place and time resulting from everything that produced people, places, and times. They say it's the same for their preference for you to believe as they do. Whether or not you will change your mind after debating them has been determined as well, but I don't see how any of that is inconsistent with their desire for the change. They are happy to be the atoms that will have inevitably done that for you or inevitably not. I imagine it as something like scratching an itch. I don't particularly care what led to whatever dust particle landing on me in an irritating way; I'm going to scratch at it. (Or maybe I won't if it's been determined I'll harbor a kind of contrarian but ultimately meaningless attitude about my predestiny!) Yes, we make what have evolved to feel like choices, but that too was all just determined somewhere in the unspeakably complex movements of matter and energy over time."GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free! Also get the Truth About the French Revolution, multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material, as well as targeted AIs for Real-Time Relationships, BitCoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-Ins. Soteriology 101: Former Calvinistic Professor discusses Doctrines of Salvation
Dr. John Piper recently was asked the question, "Is it foolish to ride a motorcycle?" And then he proceeded to ask for clarification on whether it is right to take risks given the belief that God micromanages everything anyway. Free Will doesn't exist... or does it? Afterall, all of our decisions are impacted by the decisions right before... right? Philosophy may not be your strong suit but surely we simply come into existence and act on our needs and what's around us. It's nice to feel like we make decisions but surely we're just animals like the rest of the living organisms on this Earth, thus we have no free will.... right? Rabbi M.Z. Dubov has much more to say on this! Free will does exist even with G-d in the picture! Dubov highlights the part conscience and a freed mindset play in the understanding of our place in the universe. Chaz Volk, host of Bad Jew and someone who once believed there was no free will, takes a deep dive into Jewish philosophy. 00:00 Introduction 06:19 Paradigm shift 08:36 Discovering Jewish tradition 12:06 Realized free will concerns 13:54 Free will exists if a higher consciousness exists 18:28 Debate over free will among believers and atheists 23:46 Determinism vs. free will in Jewish philosophy 27:28 Einstein theory 29:00 Decisions result from inputs. 34:23 Universe is not synonymous with God. 36:58 Humans are thoughts in God's infinite consciousness 40:14 Deterministic existence nullifies genuine human experience 42:34 Universal love, independence, image of God 46:49 Realize you are a soul, not a body 49:39 Survival vs. Lifestyle 52:15 Conclusion About Rabbi M.Z. Dubov: Born in Minsk, Belarus, MZ grew up in Brooklyn in an immigrant family which fled the USSR due to antisemitism. He attended public school until enrolling in the Boston College Carroll School of Management, from which he graduated with a B.S. in Operations & Business Consulting. During his time at BC, he became heavily involved in Israeli Advocacy, co-founding “Eagles for Israel.” While running diplomatic and cultural events, MZ met Rabbi Chananel Weiner, a student of Rabbi Noach Weinberg zt”l (the founder of Aish). Rabbi Weiner opened MZ's eyes to the depth and beauty of his Jewish roots. After graduation and before jumping into the corporate world, MZ came to Aish to learn more and decided to stay, having found his calling in life. With seven years of Torah study under his belt, MZ received Rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Nachum Barowski and Rabbi Avigdor Nebenzahl. He acts as the Director of the FoundAISHons program, in which he teaches daily and serves as a mentor to students past and present. Rabbi MZ enjoys playing basketball, hiking, taking joyrides, listening to music, and teaching his kids about this wonderful world in which we live. He and his wife often host for Shabbat in their home in French Hill, Jerusalem. Connect with M.Z. Dr. Ruth Kastner is a historian of Physics and philosopher of Science who is preoccupied with rational interpretations of quantum mechanics. She serves as the third pole of the transactional quantum mechanics big tent where she, alongside John Cramer and Carver Mead, argue that the apparent mysteries of quantum mechanics can be rationalized by modeling everything from light to gravity as an exchange between atoms. Our conversation explores how she became enamored with this alternative approach to physics, the question of how accurate our models really are when it comes to the subatomic world, why the word "electron" is hopelessly confused, and why moving backwards in space and time aren't as different as they might seem at first glance. Continuing from episode 91, we continue our deep dive into Popper's Conjectures and Refutations Chapter 8 where Popper explains how to use his epistemology on philosophical theories that (by definition) can't be 'refuted'. Despite agreeing with most of Popper's specific arguments, we offer some considerable criticisms to Popper's approach to criticizing philosophical theories -- particularly to Popper's criticisms of the theory of Determinism which is a 'best theory' by any fair standard but Popper (incorrectly) thought was false. Bruce argues that Popper's approach in C&R Ch. 8 is problematic because it opens the 'Crit Rat Loophole', which is a common way CritRats interpret Popper that allows any preferred theory to be declare a 'best theory' based on the scantest of criticisms. Bruce argues that Chapter 8 of C&R fails in this important regard because it doesn't give a good answer to the question "How does one tell the difference between a good philosophical explanation and a bad explanation?" --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/four-strands/support
SummaryIn this conversation, Chad Gross interviews Eric Hernandez about the existence of the soul. They discuss the definition of the soul, the relationship between the mind and the brain, and the arguments against physicalism. Eric presents the case for substance dualism and argues that consciousness cannot be reduced to physical properties. They also touch on the panpsychist view of consciousness and its implications. The conversation delves into the philosophy of mind and the implications for atheism and theism. In this conversation, Eric Hernandez discusses the concept of the soul and argues against physicalism and in favor of substance dualism. He presents three arguments for the existence of the soul: identity through change, indivisibility of personhood, and the argument from free will. Hernandez emphasizes that if physicalism is true, determinism is also true, which would undermine moral responsibility and intellectual integrity. He recommends J.P. Moreland's books 'The Soul: How We Know It's Real and Why It Matters' and 'Body and Soul: Human Nature and the Crisis in Ethics' as resources for further study on the philosophy of mind and the soul.TakeawaysThe soul can be defined as an immaterial substance that possesses consciousness and animates the body.Consciousness cannot be reduced to physical properties, and therefore physicalism is false.Panpsychism suggests that consciousness is fundamental to reality and can arise under the right conditions. The arguments surrounding consciousness and the soul have implications for atheism and theism. The philosophy of mind is an important area of study for understanding the nature of consciousness. The concept of the soul is central to understanding human nature and consciousness.Physicalism, the belief that everything is physical, cannot account for the existence of consciousness and free will.Arguments for the existence of the soul include identity through change, indivisibility of personhood, and the argument from free will.If physicalism is true, determinism is also true, which undermines moral responsibility and intellectual integrity.Further study on the philosophy of mind and the soul can be pursued through books by J.P. Moreland.Sound Bites"I don't have a soul, but rather I am a soul and I have a body.""If physicalism is true, consciousness can't exist.""Why not just become a Christian? A classic prooftext for Divine Determinism is Romans 9. Especially verse 13, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated," is a pet verse for those who favor Divine Determinism. Across the last 500 years that verse has particularly been cited as an example of predestination: God chooses some for salvation and some for damnation. But is that what Paul was teaching in this passage? Was he saying God sent Jacob to heaven and Esau to hell? I spend the entire podcast unpacking the context, reasoning, and argument of the apostle Paul. He says several "insider baseball" remarks that make little sense to we twenty-first century westerners. Instead, Paul is going down a path that is rather foreign to us. Come join me as we plow through this significant chapter in Romans!
In this episode, author James Kennedy stops by to chat with Craig about predestination in speculative fiction. He's got four basic categories of determinism, and they walk through each, with a fine-toothed, good-humored comb.
