I've often had a complicated relationship with Gratitude. I thought of it as spiritual gaslighting for the longest time. It got to the point where I felt like acknowledging anything good about me, or my life would negate or invalidate all the things that weren't right. Navigating Higher education and the nonprofit industrial complex, we're often taught to lead with our trauma first. It's what we're reduced to. We are so much more than our trauma and the worst moments of our lives. This episode was previously recorded for my other podcast TransFIGURE and it was made right after Tony McDade had been murdered by police and his death was pushed to the side. There is always something coming at our minds and psyches wishing that we do not see our own humanity. This is a reminder of that humanity.
Previously recorded in early June this meditation and visualization is designed to help one deal with the onslaught of grief we are all collectively experiencing in this moment.
