Most people think clutter comes from being too busy or not organized enough. But what if the real reason your space keeps filling back up is that you're holding onto things that are tied to a version of you God is asking you to release? In this episode, Emily breaks down why clutter keeps coming back and why it has nothing to do with discipline. She unpacks the seven types of clutter that are quietly revealing what you're still carrying, and helps you see how your space is often mirroring the version of you that no longer fits the season you're stepping into. Beyond that, she walks you through a simple, faith-led framework to help you shift not just your space but your spirit. This isn't just about having a perfect home. It's about a woman who lives in alignment. Because the truth is, what you keep is shaping who you remain, but what you release determines what God can do next. What You'll Learn: Why your clutter keeps coming back (and why it's not a willpower problem) The 7 types of clutter and what they reveal about your past and identity The hidden emotional and spiritual weight behind the items you struggle to let go of How to break free from scarcity, shame, and “old versions” of yourself The CROWN Method to create a lasting order that you can actually sustain Timestamps: (01:23) - Why Your Clutter Is Not About Your House (06:27) - Nesting, Identity, and God Preparing You for More (10:38) - The 7 Types of Clutter That Are Secretly Running Your Life (12:30) - Why “I Might Need This One Day” Is a Scarcity Mindset (16:15) - Aspirational Clutter and The Woman You Think You Should Be (18:58) - The Hidden Cost of Cheap Buys and “Just in Case” Thinking (21:44) - Buyer's Remorse, Shame, and Letting Go (26:39) - Why Your Clutter Keeps Coming Back (The 4 Tendencies) (36:08) - The CROWN Method That Changes Everything (45:25) - Faithfulness in Small Things (47:43) - Decluttering as a Lifelong Practice Books Mentioned in This Episode The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin | https://a.co/d/0avQPbva The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin | https://a.co/d/02IUtgwQ Outer Order, Inner Calm by Gretchen Rubin | https://a.co/d/0hpCG5W3 More from Emily & FORDIVINE: Website | https://meetemilyford.com Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/itsemily Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/itsemilymethod YouTube | https://www.youtube.com/c/ITSEMILYFORD Called & Crowned Podcast | https://www.instagram.com/calledandcrowned/ FORDIVINE | https://www.fordivine.com/

Discover how to navigate the "loud" frequencies of today's world by returning to the wisdom of your felt body. Colleen and Robyn Benelli explore somatic Reiki and the Japanese technique of Byosen scanning to help you regulate your nervous system and cultivate deep inner peace. Key Insights: The Path of the Peacemaker: Peace is a frequency that flows through your body. By using Reiki to regulate your own nervous system, you become a stable point of light that influences the negativity of the world around you. The Reiki Frequency Filter: When the world feels overwhelming, you can place a field of Reiki light around you. This acts as a filter for the Peacemaker, allowing you to stay informed without absorbing the lower frequencies of global anxiety. Somatic Reiki & Physical Intuition: Your body holds the "Deep Why" of your spirit. By listening to physical sensations, you can identify where peace is blocked. Somatic Reiki allows you to release the "jolt" of stress from your fascia, returning you to a state of clarity. Byosen Self Scanning for Harmony: Byosen scanning is a Reiki tool to sense your body By feeling for heat or "stops" in your energy field, you can direct Reiki to exactly where your body, or the collective energy you carry, needs to return to balance. People Also Ask (FAQ): How does a Reiki Peacemaker handle global stress? A Reiki Peacemaker can use Reiki energy and techniques to protect their energy. By staying grounded in the Reiki energy, they offer peace to the world through their own state of being rather than becoming depleted by external events. What is Byosen scanning in Reiki? Byosen scanning is a Japanese technique, developed by Usui Sensei, where you move your hands through the energy field to detect sensations (Hibiki). This is a way to "listen" to the body's needs and apply healing light to areas of tension before they become emotional blocks. Can Somatic Reiki help with nervous system regulation? Yes. Somatic Reiki focuses on physical intuition and the felt sense. By placing hands on areas like the Mouth of God chakra or the solar plexus, you can manually signal your nervous system to move from "fight or flight" into a state of deep, centered peace. Ep. 228 (Part 1 of 2) | In part 1 of our second What is Real Greatness Series podcast, Margaret Cullen, author of the newly published book Quiet Strength: Find Peace, Feel Alive, and Love Boundlessly Through the Power of Equanimity, explains there is far more power in the virtue of equanimity than we may have thought. Because equanimity is associated with non-reactivity, people often confuse it with a neutral sort of feeling, a dampener of emotions, when actually, equanimity allows us to expand our capacity to feel; it widens our tolerance and empowers us to be comfortable with change. “Equanimity is big enough to include our broken, despairing hearts,” Margaret says. “We can hold a vision of equanimity that is completely inclusive of the human experience.” Practicing equanimity allows us to deepen our love—for the world and for others—without becoming attached.Margaret shares practical ways we can access equanimity—ways we can achieve conceptual clarity or a “wedge of spaciousness” when a moment has been hijacked by out-of-control emotions; how we can learn to turn directly and fully to what is arising in the moment; and how we can unhook from reactivity by not taking things too personally. “How can we respond heroically to the times we live in?” co-host John Dupuy asks. Margaret shares what she has learned teaching military units and special forces to cultivate equanimity—equanimity can save lives—and describes a compassion cultivation training program that has been established for police officers in California. Takeaways from this discussion may have important, powerful, timely effects on your life—and all of our lives; as John put it, “Never before have we had such a need for the medicine Margaret brings us.” Recorded January 14, 2026.“How do we care about this world that is in so much trouble without feeling overwhelmed? The answer is equanimity.“Topics & Time Stamps – Part 1Introducing podcast #2 in our What is Real Greatness Series with Margaret Cullen, psychotherapist, meditation & compassion cultivation trainer, author of Quiet Strength: Find Peace, Feel Alive, and Love Boundlessly Through the Power of Equanimity (00:48)What is equanimity and how did Margaret begin to experience it? Maximizing Fitness, Fat Loss & Running Through Perimenopause
This simple and effective upgrade to your health, hormones and performance only takes two minutes a day!In this episode, Louise Valentine, one of the world's leading integrative health practitioners and exercise physiologists, explores a hidden challenge many active women face during perimenopause: chronic stress, elevated cortisol and blood sugar. For driven women who love running, training hard, and pushing themselves, the constant “go, go, go” mindset can quietly disrupt hormones, insulin sensitivity, recovery, and long-term health. Louise explains how intense training, under-fueling, caffeine, and daily life stress can compound, leaving many women feeling exhausted, stuck with stubborn fat loss, or even facing rising blood sugar levels. The good news is that the solution does not have to be complicated. Louise introduces a simple but powerful tool called a pause practice. By intentionally slowing down for just a few minutes during stressful transition points in the day, women can calm the nervous system, regulate cortisol, and improve recovery.Listeners will learn how small moments of awareness, breathing, and presence can shift not only their health and training results, but also their energy, mood, and family environment. Sometimes the most powerful performance strategy is learning when to pause.Apply what you learned with a simple yet highly effective daily pause practice in podcast episode 124B that immediately follows today's episode!LINKS + RESOURCESLearn & level up with my free nutrition guide & award-winning Badass Breakthrough Academy to thrive through perimenopause with less stress: https://www.breakingthroughwellness.com/ Check out my FullScript here where you can see curated best supplement picks & save 20 % off. What if the safest place you can find is the breath you're already taking? We sit down with Anthony Abbagnano — founder of Alchemy of Breath and author of Outer Chaos, Inner Calm — to explore how conscious breathing can shift anxiety, resolve trauma responses, and restore a sense of agency in everyday life. His story arcs from a startling early awakening at boarding school to months of stillness during a life-threatening illness, revealing the quiet power of will on the inhale and surrender on the exhale.Visit Anthony's Website: Alchemy of BreathAnthony breaks down the mechanics behind different methods with rare clarity. We unpack why hyperventilation isn't a DIY strategy, how Conscious Connected Breathing works without pauses, and when vigorous diaphragmatic cycles can prime you for a high-stakes talk. Most importantly, we get practical: the four-in, long-out exhale sequence becomes a dependable reset for the nervous system, helping listeners interrupt spirals of panic, ground attention, and return to a steadier baseline. Along the way, Anthony's “octave” metaphor reframes coping versus resolution, showing how breath can complete the unfinished note of suspense and bring closure to states that keep us stuck. This conversation is a toolkit for teachers, caregivers, and anyone who wants to feel safer in their own body. You'll learn how to catalog your breath across emotions—anger, love, fear, focus—and rehearse patterns you can recall under pressure. The result is a subtle but profound shift from reactivity to response, from back-foot survival to front-foot presence. If you're ready to meet uncertainty with curiosity and calm, press play, breathe with us, and build your own breath catalog.Enjoyed the conversation? In this episode of Legendary Leaders, host Cathleen O'Sullivan sits down with Anthony Abbagnano—founder of the Alchemy of Breath and one of the world's leading voices in modern breathwork—whose calm presence and practical wisdom will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about resilience. Anthony shares why most of us have unlearned how to breathe properly, and why that disconnection costs us more than we realize. He opens up about his midlife crisis in Ibiza, the moment he realized he'd abandoned his inner child for sixty years, and how inner child work isn't just playfulness—it's reconciling with the wounded parts we left behind. With disarming warmth, he explains why trauma can be our teacher, how the difference between "reactive" and "creative" is just moving one letter, and why ten breaths before a meeting might be the most productive thing you do all day. Together, Cathleen and Anthony explore why we lose choice under stress, the neuroscience behind overwhelm, and how the Coherence breath—a simple five-second inhale, five-second exhale—can regulate your nervous system in five minutes. This conversation is for anyone racing through life, leading from chaos instead of calm, or wondering where they've been holding their breath—and what might happen if they finally let go. Episode Timeline: 00:00:46 Why most people have unlearned to breathe properly 00:06:08 Inner child work: beyond playfulness to reconciliation 00:07:35 Anthony's midlife crisis in Ibiza and creating "the bridge" process 00:13:17 How trauma takes our breath away and embeds in the body 00:17:06 Restoring choice to a choiceless moment 00:22:15 Outer Chaos, Inner Calm: navigating today's messy world 00:28:11 Reactive vs. creative: moving one letter to transform leadership 00:31:19 Building community: the five-year Italy experiment 00:42:28 Why Western society lives in shallow breathing 00:47:02 The gradient of choice: how stress shrinks our options 00:48:07 Ten breaths that transformed a hostile boardroom meeting 00:53:06 Meet, prevail, acknowledge, celebrate: the four stages of growth 00:57:41 How breath creates space for creativity in business 01:08:26 The Coherence breath: a live demonstration 01:19:53 Take a breath before you react (and do a random act of kindness) Key Takeaway: Trauma Takes Your Breath Away—Healing Means Taking It Back: When we're wounded, we literally lose our breath in that moment of impact. The body absorbs the shock and stores it as chronic tension or disease. But trauma isn't something to erase—it's something to learn from. Mo Gowdat surveyed 12,000 trauma survivors and 99% said they'd keep their trauma for the growth it brought. The work isn't forgetting the wounded parts; it's restoring choice to the moments where breath—and power—were taken away. One Breath Creates Space—And Space Creates Choice: Write out "reactive." Move the "C" to the front and you get "creative." That's what one breath does. Under stress, we self-lobotomize—exporting processing power to our amygdala, leaving us with only fight, flight, or freeze. But one conscious breath creates space between stimulus and response. Ten breaths before a meeting can transform hostility into harmony. It's not about fixing the problem—it's about polishing your lens so you can see solutions that were there all along. The Coherence Breath: Five In, Five Out, Five Minutes, Three Times a Day: Breathe in through your nose for five seconds, out for five seconds. This practice—used by military and SWAT teams worldwide—regulates your nervous system and becomes your automatic response to tension. After two weeks, it stops being something you "do" and becomes how you breathe. When panic hits? Extend your exhale to counter rising stress. Practice it when you're calm so you can reach for it when you're not. Inspire Literally Means to Bring In Spirit—That's What Leadership Looks Like: Four-fifths of neural messages go from body to brain, not the other way around. Your body knows things your mind hasn't figured out yet. Conscious breathing slows your frontal lobe and creates space for insight beyond thinking. You're not just calming down—you're accessing what Anthony calls "spiritual resources." That's when quantum shifts happen: when you stop trying to think your way through and start breathing your way into clarity. About Anthony Abbagnano: Anthony Abbagnano is a visionary healer, breathwork pioneer, and the founder of Alchemy of Breath, where a global community of over 100,000 seekers turns a biological reflex into a tool for radical transformation. A former international entrepreneur—only to walk away from the corporate world to study under masters in India and the Amazon. He's trained facilitators in 40+ countries and shared stages with everyone from Deepak Chopra to Gabor Maté. His latest book, Outer Chaos, Inner Calm, explores trauma, addiction, and the art of "self-remembering," weaving in the philosophical influence of his uncle. Anthony teaches that "the breath is the bridge" to our forgotten parts, and that in a world designed to keep us in a state of "fight or flight," the most revolutionary act you can take is a conscious inhale. In this episode of LaidOPEN Podcast, I open up about my own deepening journey with Kundalini Yoga and sit with one of the teachers who has guided so much of that unfolding. Amanbir is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and trainer who has spent more than two years empowering and training thousands of students across the planet. His teaching blends traditional Kundalini lineage, Chinese medicine, astrology, and nervous system intelligence in a way that cuts through noise and brings you right into the truth of your own experience. We explore what Kundalini practice actually feels like inside a real human body and why it has the power to open your heart in ways that are both tender and undeniable. We talk about how mantra, breath, mudra and repetitive movement shift emotional patterns and help move trauma, especially the inherited stories that live in our cells. We get into the beauty and intensity of transformation, the importance of community and consistent practice, and the courage it takes to let yourself soften and expand at the same time. Amanbir also shares a simple breath practice you can use whenever you feel overwhelmed, disconnected or pulled into old habits. His presence is steady and deeply compassionate, and this conversation offers a grounded entry point into a practice that can change the way you meet yourself. If you have ever wondered what Kundalini can open in you, this episode brings you right to the heart of it. Let us know what you enjoy about the show! The world rarely gives you a quiet minute, so we made one. This guided micro meditation helps you step out of noise and back into yourself without leaving your chair, your car, or your to‑do list. No special setup, no perfect posture—just your breath, a softer body, and the pause that's already there. We start by noticing the breath exactly as it is, then invite a gentle inhale through the nose and a slow exhale through the mouth. As shoulders melt and the jaw releases, the nervous system begins to settle. From there, we explore the stillness at the top of your inhale and the bottom of your exhale—the tiny spaces where nothing is required and everything feels possible. That pause becomes a felt sense of presence, a reminder that peace isn't earned after the work is done; it's available now and can travel with you into whatever comes next. This short practice is perfect between meetings, before sleep, or anytime stress ramps up and attention frays. You'll learn how to use physical cues to calm the mind, how awareness of breath pauses builds resilience, and how a one‑minute reset can shift your entire day. Whether you're new to meditation or returning to it, this session offers a simple, repeatable way to get grounded and stay open to possibility.Press play, breathe with us, and let the quiet do its work. If this helped you reset, follow the show, share it with someone who needs a pause, and leave a review so more people can find their breath again.Support the show

Today, I interview Heidi Fischbach who grew up in a strict, high-control environment where fear and rules shaped how she learned to speak and exist. From an early age, she carried the weight of right and wrong, heaven and hell, and learned to stay small to stay safe.As she grew older, this constant vigilance became anxiety and self-silencing. Her turning point came when she began to understand how the body holds old fear-based patterns, and how healing the nervous system can restore a sense of safety and calm. Through curiosity and self-friendliness, she learned that safety isn't just emotional, it's physical, and that when the body feels safe, the voice naturally begins to emerge.Today, Heidi helps others reset their nervous systems and rediscover what it feels like to be calm, connected, and expressive. She teaches that healing happens in small, steady increments, not through force, but through gentleness and presence.__________________Heidi Fischbach is a nervous system coach and writer who helps people reset after high-control environments, whether that's a fundamentalist religion, a rigid family system, or chronic survival mode.
