Finding Your Purpose and Living on Purpose Do you have a clear vision of what you should be doing with your life? Are you taking the necessary risks to live according to your purpose, or playing it safe? Are you clear on what you need to be doing, but putting it off until some point in the future, like retirement or when the kids go to college? If you’re not sure what you true purpose is, how do you discover it? These are the kinds of questions we will explore with author Gregg Krech, a leading authority on Japanese Psychology whose work is centered on self-reflection and purposeful living. Walker Percy said "The search is what anyone would undertake if he were not sunk in the everydayness of his own life . . . To become aware of the possibility of the search is to be onto something. Not to be onto something is to be in despair." Take a few minutes to step back from the everydayness of your life to consider your own personal search, your calling, and how you can create a life of living on purpose. This is a Re broadcast of 11/21/15. Just for listening... What is acting really? Nancy will talk about the fact that each and every one of us are born actors, because actors are really storytellers -and storytelling has been an integral part of the human experience since the beginning of time. We'll be discussing: Things you can do to make any script your own.How you can stand out at an audition.Creating your own breaks. Putting one foot ahead of the other every day. What a pro in voiceover really is.Presenting your truest self in an audition. Do you struggle with feelings that perhaps you aren't "good enough" or, don't have a "right" to call yourself an actor? We'll talk about why that's just plain nonsense. Nancy Wilson has been a recognized voice in Los Angeles broadcasting for many years – most notably as a staff announcer at KTWV FM, 94.7 The Wave. She was a signature voice for Digital Planet (now Sirius) and the voice of Smooth Jazz for Korean Airlines. Nancy created two national programs: the award-winning environmental radio series, Big Blue Planet, now Our Blue World on iTunes, and The Larry Carlton show, on Music Choice. Currently, Nancy is a busy voice actor in Los Angeles, and is pursuing an acting career. She recently booked the role of Margaret (mom) in the SAG/AFTRA production of the old time radio series “Father Knows Best,” and is involved in casting SAG/AFTRA’s upcoming old-time radio theatre production of Gene Autry’s Christmas at Melody Ranch, at the Gene Autry Theatre in Los Angeles. Nancy is a vocal coach and producer and has trained at the renowned improv school, The Groundlings, in Hollywood. Get Scripts for today's show here: http://www.talkboxradio.com/scripts

SERIOUSLY SPEAKING... What can you do to secure the grid? First, Get smart. You can track the threats at www.securethegrid.com. When industry and government are challenged with hard questions by informed voters we are one step closer to securing the grid. Educating your sphere of influence is the next step. The electrical industry does a great job delivering energy to America each day but someone still needs the authority to make sure that energy and the lives depending on it are safe and secure. The electrical industry lobby has a conflict of interest when it comes to securing the grid. They have millions at their disposal to downplay threats and re-assure the public of their reliability. Education and knowledge in the scientific community within the electrical industry will help to secure the grid. That is a big part of what the secure the grid coalition does. After 11 government studies, established and uncontroversial threat assessments, and the advice of the nations top scientists, the industry has failed to harden itself against major solar storms, physical attacks, cyber attacks, and EMP attack.

Do you find yourself avoiding certain social situations out of fear of being judged? Or maybe you don't even know why you have anxiety, but you will go out of your way to avoid talking to people in certain situations. You may be suffering from social anxiety. You want to meet people, make friends, and share yourself with the world, but social interactions can be nerve wracking for all of us. People with social anxiety constantly doubt their social adequacy, and worry about what might happen if people don’t like them or if they say or do the wrong thing. Although therapy can be very useful for people who suffer from social anxiety disorder, there a number of techniques you can try to cure your anxiety without the need for professional help.

It's important to view it as simple.' Amanda has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and is a qualified Person-Centered Counselor.
