The Derm Vet Podcast is an excellent resource for veterinarians and vet students looking to enhance their knowledge in dermatology. Hosted by Dr. Bourgeous, a veterinary dermatologist, this podcast covers a wide range of topics related to skin and ear conditions in animals.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the thoroughness and clarity with which Dr. Bourgeous presents each topic. She breaks down complex concepts and provides practical advice that can be easily understood and implemented in a clinical setting. Her passion for dermatology shines through in each episode, making it engaging and enjoyable to listen to.

Another great aspect of The Derm Vet Podcast is its relevance to general practitioners. Dr. Bourgeous acknowledges that not all clinics have access to specialized equipment or resources, so she provides tips and recommendations for managing dermatological cases with limited resources. This makes the information accessible to all veterinarians, regardless of their level of expertise or practice setting.

While there are not many negative aspects to this podcast, one area for improvement could be the frequency of episodes. Currently, episodes are released on a weekly basis, but it would be beneficial if more frequent episodes were available to cover even more topics in depth.

In conclusion, The Derm Vet Podcast is an invaluable resource for veterinarians looking to improve their understanding and management of dermatological conditions in animals. Dr. Bourgeous's expertise and passion make each episode informative and engaging, helping veterinarians provide better care for their patients with skin and ear issues.

However, there are a few hints between dogs and cats that can give you an indication you are dealing with PF.In dogs, honey colored adherent crusting, facial lesions, nasal planum involvement and crust paw pads can occur with PF. In cats, purulent debris at the claw folds, crusting/erythema around the nipples and crusting/erythema to the pinna can be hints of PF.As always, check cytology and look for neutrophilic inflammation without infection and/or acantholytic keratinocytes (prematurely lifted skin cells).
