In this episode of the Mobile Dev Memo podcast, I speak to returning guest Maor Sadra, the CEO of INCRMNTAL, about changing attitudes toward marketing measurement. The catalyst for this conversation was a set of diagrams that Maor recently published on the INCRMNTAL blog, ranking various marketing measurement methodologies across a number of features. In this episode, we discuss: The tradeoffs inherent in the above spiderweb diagram; Whether and how app advertisers implement experiments in their marketing; The popularity of media mix modeling in the app advertising ecosystem and whether enthusiasm for it has changed; Trends in the composition of user acquisition budgets by channel for app advertisers; Whether budget is shifting meaningfully to the web for app advertisers; The gaps in measurement that app advertisers struggle to close; Whether budgets are increasing on Meta and Google as their AI-empowered solutions expand; How AI plays a role in marketing measurement. Life for someone with disabilities is challenging wherever you live, but even more so if that's in the developing world. As our 2010 Window on the World award winner discovered when she was living and working in Tanzania. Seeing people with disabilities begging on the streets, Susie put her degree in textiles to use and set up a social enterprise to provide crafts training and employment for people with disabilities. Starting with three deaf trainees and budget of just £400, by the time Susie left Tanzania ten years later, her centre, which included training facilities and an award-winning cafe, was working with over 120 people with a huge range of disabilities. Returning to the UK wasn't the end of Susie's efforts to create opportunities for people with disabilities. Very far from it. Her work now reaches communities here and not just in Tanzania but in Equador and Peru too. In this episode Susie reveals the reason why she is able to specially connect with the people she works with, how she met the challenge of being a young white woman trying to bring about change in an African country, who the childhood heroine of hers was who nominated her for her award and the surprising skill that brings her so much joy.

On March 15, 1848, something that had happened two months earlier was finally reported in a newspaper for the first time. It only made it into one newspaper, but that was all that was needed to announce that gold had been found in California. That announcement sparked the California Gold Rush and changed history. The Big Bark dog podcast is Irelands Number 1 dog related podcast. Each episode, Darragh and his trusty sidekick pups Bruno, Milly & Roxy bringing all the canine stories to you, with the biggest interviews with pet professionals.Once again, this week, we welcome back Dr. Ashleigh Bugler from Treaty Veterinary Clinic to our health hub - Dr. Bugler this week chats itchy skin conditions including hot spots, how to handle these and how to know if your dog is suffering from issues with their anal glands and how you can provide them with some relief.Since the announcment of the XL bully ban by Minister Humpreys, we've been contacted by a number of dog owners who have told us there is a changing attitude from the public towards their dogs and not just toward restricted breeds either. There appears to be a general widespread fear of all dogs by a specific cohort of society, which is coming from mainstream media fuelling the fear along with local councillors such as DLR council and most recently Cllr Gavan of Limerick Council calling on Mayor John Moran to introduce bye laws to deal with what she says are over 70 restricted breeds. The spread of misinformation from councillors is causing an unease among both the public and dog owners. We discuss why councillors need to display effective control of the information that they share and why our local authorities and the dog hating cohort of society need to be re-educated on matters surrounding dog control.xLinks:https://www.facebook.com/thebigbarkpodcasthttps://www.instagram.com/thebigbarkpodcasthttps://www.twitter.com/bigbarkpodcasthttps://www.patreon.com/thebigbarkpodcasthttps://thebigbark.ieGuest Linkshttps://www.treatyveterinaryclinic.com/https://muttmittsireland.i Become a member of The Big Bark Podcast + By becoming a member and subscriber, you can gain access to behind the scenes videos and interviews, bloopers and see what our wonderful puppies get up to. https://plus.acast.com/s/the-big-bark-dog-podcast. Julianne Nichols, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, discusses how nonprofits use research effectively to drive positive change in attitudes and behaviors, and shares an inside look on how their foundation's approach can serve as a compelling example. Throughout this Nonprofit Power Week episode, the emphasis is on the importance of continuous, strategic, and multi-channel efforts to change attitudes and drive action. Julianne emphasizes the long-term commitment needed to shift public perceptions about foster care adoption and the critical role of storytelling in this process. Julianne begins by emphasizing the importance of research in shaping public perceptions and attitudes towards foster care adoption. She cites several examples, such as their Adoption and Foster Care Attitude Survey, which reveals that 30% of the public believe that teenagers in foster care can fend for themselves without the support of a permanent family. This finding drives the organization to leverage storytelling through public service announcements and other channels to humanize the issue and challenge misconceptions. An important quote from Julianne highlights the power of storytelling: "What we have really found is that a storytelling approach is among the most powerful tools in your toolbox." She explains how sharing personal stories of adopted children and adoptive parents changes minds and inspires action. Additionally, she discusses how research informs the development of programs like Wendy's Wonderful Kids, which demonstrates through rigorous evaluation that children referred to the program are up to three times more likely to be adopted, leading to the scaling of this initiative. This lively fast-paced conversation also touches on the cost and time associated with research, highlighting that it varies widely based on the complexity and scope of the study, and why external research partners are considered crucial when research results will inform policy decisions or public claims. Compliance Clarified – a podcast by Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence
This episode of Compliance Clarified brings together Helen Chan, Regulatory Intelligence's regulatory expert in Hong Kong and Rachel Wolcott, senior editor in London to discuss what closer ties between North Korea and Russia mean for sanctions and compliance officials. Helen and Rachel delve into the growing entanglement between secondary sanctions risk and cryptocurrencies. Crypto exchanges and services—Tornado Cash, Bitzlato-- have been sanctioned or closed for helping sanctioned entities launder assets. North Korean cybercriminals use the crypto universe to generate income, hide it and then cash it out with impunity. All those assets are going into the DPRK's weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programme. It is not just crypto though. North Korea is adept at using shell companies and exploiting corrupt officials to access the international financial system to supply the country with what it needs to further its WMD ambitions. Helen talks through British American Tobacco's recent settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice for North Korean sanctions violations and other cases that demonstrate what is at stake for companies and financial institutions. At the same time, Asian countries like Singapore and Japan are implementing their own unilateral regimes. Japan for example has implemented trade and economic sanctions against Russia which it intends to enforce robustly. That is a departure from the status quo that compliance officers need to consider carefully. Since she was a child, Shilpi Kapoor has always been an independent spirit that has defied conformity and taking paths of least resistance. This plus her equally altruistic spirit and drive for universal accessibility, has led her to break barriers of incredible impact. In this conversation, Shilpi talks about what it was like growing up in Mumbai in the 1980's, her struggles with school, and the role her father played in helping to develop her love for coding and technology; opens up about some early entrepreneurial ventures and one of her biggest "failings," a life-changing experience during a data hacking internship that led her to starting a computer training center for the blind, and her pivot to digital accessibility testing and starting the still-thriving BarrierBreak in 2004; and dives into critical dialog on the ubiquity and universality of accessibility, how it shows up everywhere in both the digital and physical world, and the immense benefits it provides to everyone regardless of ability. Throughout, Shilpi illustrates how vital exposure is for changing attitudes and dismantling stigma, the power constant evolution can have on realizing great impact, and why it's so important to not always take the normal path in life. Dr. Noah St. John is "The Mental Health Coach to the Stars" and Inventor & Father of Afformations. He is the #1 New York Times' bestselling author of The Book of Afformations®: Discovering the Missing Piece to Abundant Health, Wealth, Love, and Happiness and the new book The 7-Figure Life: How to Leverage the 4 Focus Factors for More Wealth and Happiness. He also discusses his invention of "Afformations," which engage the brain's embedded presupposition factor to help people achieve their goals. St. John emphasizes the importance of balancing gratitude with striving for goals and facing fears to achieve success. He then walks through the four focus factors he outlines in his book, which are essential for those working from home in a world of infinite distractions. In today's world of infinite distractions, it's becoming increasingly difficult to stay focused on our goals and achieve success. St. John outlines four key factors that can help us regain control of our lives and achieve more wealth and happiness. The four focus factors are time, energy, relationships, and money. But as Noah emphasizes, focusing solely on money at the expense of everything else can lead to a lack of time, energy, and relationships, rendering the money meaningless. Instead, he encourages us to balance gratitude with striving for our goals and facing our fears. Social media can lead to isolation and loneliness, especially for the younger generation. So it's important to find a community of like-minded individuals who can offer encouragement and support on our journey towards success. In a world of distractions and negativity, it's easy to lose sight of our goals and succumb to self-doubt. But by focusing on the four key factors outlined in "The Seven Figure Life" and implementing the Afformations method, we can regain control of our lives and achieve more wealth and happiness. So let's take a page from Noah's book and start focusing on what truly matters. Decolonising Russia and Russian history is controversial, but the brutal war in Ukraine is driving a reassessment of the study of Russian history and is changing attitudes that have held sway for decades. The influence of a Russian imperial mindset on the lens through which Russian history is interpreted may finally be shattering, to lead to a new interpretation of Russia as a classical European colonial power. Professor Luke March describes how governments and academics are changing their attitudes to Russia, driven by Putin's aggression in Ukraine. The study of Russian history is set to be transformed, as the 'soft touch' of the 90s is replaced with a 'decolonisation' of Russian studies. This will not improve either Russia's PR, nor history's judgement of it's actions and motives. Luke March is the Personal Chair of Post-Soviet and Comparative Politics and Deputy Director of the Princess Dashkova Russian Centre at Edinburgh University. He is an expert in the politics of the former Soviet Union (especially Russian and Moldovan politics, political parties in the FSU, democratisation, and institution-building); Russian nationalism, Russian foreign policy discourse; the radical left in Europe; populism; contemporary communism. And one of the most authoritative commentators on the current situation in Ukraine.
