Episode 99d - Seig Heil. Another Friday afternoon catch up - not an official or canonical episode in which Rich attempts to remember what some of his characters do, as well as discussing the Musky arm movement, why Putin was in such a rush, if Obama has got himself a Rachel, how fast Craig David Iikes to move things along, whether Elizabeth I was a man, where to put your bins in a storm and whether Rich has any right to feel a bit bonnie blue about the stresses in his lucky bugger life. Plus the return of some old friends, a cold prediction for a beloved actor and Rich attempts to explain why men are so entranced by BWBs. Back soon with episode 100 for sure. Another Friday means another edition of the No Prize Football Pick 'Em! We are joined by listener Jaime and former Cardinals slugger Matt Adams.
Another Friday is here and we all know what that means... another Instrumental Friday!!!
We bid a fond farewell to the Friday slasher trend with two parody films: STUDENT BODIES (1981) are stalked by The Breather in a rare early cycle spoof, then Jackson gets a touch of the melancholy in UNMASKED PART 25 (1988).
What's a filmmaker to do if they need to make an 80s slasher film but the trend is getting long in the tooth? Add some inappropriate folklore! A group of campers is stalked by a Viking berserker in the appropriately titled, BERSERKER (1987). And then a group of young people are mysteriously invited to their old summer camp built on land cursed by a medicine man in TWISTED NIGHTMARE (1988).
It's time for a European vacation with two films from across the pond that put their unique spin on the American slasher movie trend: BODY COUNT (1986) from famed Italian director Ruggero Deodato and Spanish slasher EDGE OF THE AXE (1988) directed by José Ramón Larraz.
Summer's over! It's time for Fall and Winter slashers to answer the question: Does changing seasons help change up a Friday-style slasher? SATAN'S BLADE (1984) combines bank robbing, attempted adultery, and boom mics with a local legend, while THE MUTILATOR (1984) mixes tones, tunes, and the craziest game of Blind Man's Bluff you've ever witnessed.
IT'S OUR 100TH EPISODE OF GET ME ANOTHER! While we ourselves are incapable of change, the Friday the 13th franchise is about to kick into overdrive. We look at the two movies that added the final pieces that cemented Jason Vorhees's status as a horror icon. FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III (1982) and FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER (1984).
What do you get when the marketing team wants to sell aliens and inhuman monsters, but you made a wilderness set Friday the 13th riff? We look at two slasher films with wildly inaccurate ad copy released in 1983, Andrew Davis's THE FINAL TERROR, featuring a fantastic performance by Joe Pantoliano, and cinematic “bad boyfriend” THE PREY, featuring a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich.
Another Friday means it's time for another news roundup! This week, executive producer Hayley Sperling and newsletter editor Rob Thomas talk about the first concert coming to Camp Randall in nearly 30 years. Plus, the library just got a major boost from the federal government, and there are some changes afoot in Madison's restaurant scene. Buckle up because this roundup is a trip. Mentioned on the show: Coldplay coming to Camp Randall, Tickets on sale Oct. 11 [UW Athletics] Gov. Evers: Announces $115 million in grants to 35 local and tribal communities for new construction and renovations of public libraries and community centers [WisPolitics] Why We Need to Talk about the Imagination Center [City Cast Madison] Madison burger and shakes spot, DLUX, closing this month [WMTV] Chicago restaurateur opening Japanese restaurant, bar on State Street [IB Madison] New bar Public Parking has a space for you on East Johnson [Cap Times]
Ryan from The New World Pictures Podcast joins to discuss Sisworo Gautama Putra's SRIGALA (1981), a wild treasure-hunting Indonesian slasher film that owes much to Friday the 13th while simultaneously being its own unique experience. To check out The New World Pictures Podcast: https://newworldpicturespodcast.com
Another Friday morning with Lucia brought to you by the lovely Tuning Fork! Clementine joins for Fancy New Band thanks to NZ on Air Music.
This week features two films centered on a group of hikers encountering a backwoods killer in the mountains executed to quite different results. DON'T GO IN THE WOODS (1981) is one of the infamous video nasties banned in the UK during the 1980s. Did it deserve it? We then focus on a slasher film that has gained its reputation over time, JUST BEFORE DAWN (1981) directed by Jeff Lieberman.
The show goes Cropsey-Turvy this week with two films based on the New York urban legend of Cropsey: First up is THE BURNING (1981) featuring early career performances by Jason Alexander, Fisher Stevens, and Holly Hunter. Then MADMAN (1981) gives us the legend of Madman Marz, as well as one sweet, sweet theme song.
Another Friday night is upon us and the dudes are being dudes again. The guys from GrillShak joined the podcast and hung out with the dudes. Another Friday night in late-summer paradise. Fleccas needed to reschedule for next Friday instead but there is plenty we can do to close out the week! The debate must not be doing The Party too well behind the scenes because new disastrous Ukraine War policies are being floated today. Frank reminisces about the first night back on-air after Aurora's birth, in 2020, and does a little show and tell. Plenty of fun with the exploding Migrants/Pets meme; and then some background on historically unlucky days, like Friday the 13th. The open phone lines, and satirical news headlines, trigger several fun tangents, and therapeutic outbursts of laughter. Pack your sleeping bags and don't stand with your back to a window because it's time for Sean S. Cunningham & Victor Miller's FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980) to prove that a movie capitalizing on a trend can become a trendsetter in its own right. We then look at how FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 (1981), directed by Steve Miner, altered the trajectory of the franchise and overall trend.

5 - Drive @ 5 - Another Friday, another chat with Dr. Wilfred Reilly, Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University & Author of “Lies My Liberal Teacher Told Me.” Is mood contagious? How do we feel about canned laugh tracks vs. letting the audience decide what is funny? A Baltimore High School Athletic Director used AI to frame his school's principal for racism in order to get him fired. As the author of Hate Crime Hoax, how does Dr. Reilly feel about this story? He argues this is the first AI hate crime hoax, and many more may be on the horizon. The conversation shifts to other AI hazards, such as revenge deepfake porn and staged conversations. Are schools out in Kentucky participating in these protests like the coastal elite schools? Rich and Dr. Reilly wrap up with discussion of Trump's case in New York. 540 - Rich discusses his differences with other legal scholars over the handling of the Trump case. We listened to Trump's comments after court today. Rich continues to detail just how weak the case against Trump is.
3 - Catch and Kill! It is not illegal to have an extramarital affair, so why is that on trial in the Trump case? It is not election interference to hide things from the electorate. Would people really have changed their vote knowing the guy who has been married three different times had an affair or two? If so, why has he not lost the evangelical Christian crowd? 330 - A correction. Joe Biden received “4 Pinocchio's” from the WaPo for his repeated lie that he was arrested protesting for civil rights back in the day on Woke Howard Stern's Show. Isn't this the guy who palled around with “The Seggies” talking to the guy that would do blackface skits? Birds of a hypocritical feather flock together. 350 - Rich is mad about the whole premise of the trial, including the taxpayer money going to the daily protection of Donald Trump as he has to keep appearing in court. Let's get a poll going on who would've changed their vote based on these allegations. 4 - Continuing on Trump's Trial as we are prosecuting him for election interference that he has not won once in two separate elections. Where is the evidence that the outcome would have changed? 420 - Matt is off today, but that doesn't mean he wasn't complaining. 430 - Philadelphia's own Dr. Victoria Coates, Former Deputy National Security Advisor & the Vice President of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation, joins us to discuss the political protests of the conflict in Israel. Dr. Coates discusses the security detail she had to have to even speak at UPenn on ideas that shouldn't be very controversial. How are things in the Middle East? How serious is the accusation that Israel is committing genocide against Gazans? 4:55 - Did Fauci get his 6 foot distancing rule from the movie Contagion? 5 - Drive @ 5 - Another Friday, another chat with Dr. Wilfred Reilly, Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University & Author of “Lies My Liberal Teacher Told Me.” Is mood contagious? We listened to Trump's comments after court today. Rich continues to detail just how weak the case against Trump is. 6 - Zeoli Show In-house Economist Dr. EJ Antoni joins us once again to discuss the new economic numbers. Yes people are earning more now, but the rising costs of things has rendered these wages useless. But we thought inflation was transitory? Yeah, transitioning higher and higher. The two also discuss the non-compete contracts being voided, for now. What happens if we finally abolish The Fed? 620 - Anytime, anywhere. Biden says he'll debate Trump on Woke Howard Stern's Show. Will he though? He also spouted more lies, like being arrested during civil rights protests, being the runner -up in “state scoring” in football, and receiving salacious pictures from women during his time as Senator in the 1970's. A special montage of Biden's comments on race. 650 - A replay of Rich's exclusive interview with President Trump.

Another Friday night finale and I think we may have Matt locked up for the first half of this one (better than nothing, I suppose). We will do some mixed stories, including some addition Cell Phone Outage theories, and a little fun with the Babylon Bee, and then a story about a time that John Adams and Benjamin Franklin has to sleep in the same bed. But the main call-in topic for tonight is based on a recent story of a significant inheritance passed down from a European billionaire to his 51-year-old gardener, which prompted me to ask the audience: What is the great thing you ever inherited?
