The search for missing 3-year-old Elijah Vue has tragically come to a heartbreaking end. On September 13, Two Rivers Police Chief Benjamin Meinnert confirmed that the skeletal remains discovered on September 7 in a remote wooded area were indeed those of Elijah. This news marks a devastating conclusion to a months-long search that captivated the community of northeast Wisconsin. "It is with a heavy heart that I announce today, those remains were identified as Elijah Vue's," Meinnert said during a press briefing shared on Facebook. The remains were found by a landowner preparing for the hunting season, approximately three miles northwest of where Elijah was last seen. The area, which had been extensively searched before, was described by Meinnert as a "thick wooded area." The tragic discovery came after extensive efforts by volunteers and law enforcement, who had combed through marshy areas, river banks, and even a cemetery in search of the young boy. The amber alert issued for Elijah has now been canceled, and the case has officially become a death investigation. David Berthiaume, a local resident who assisted in the search, expressed his frustration and sorrow. "There won't be closure for me until we know who killed him and put him there," Berthiaume said. "Nothing killed him back there in those woods. He was killed and put there." Elijah was reported missing on February 20. At the time, his mother, Katrina Baur, was in Wisconsin Dells, while her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, was at his residence on Mischot Road in Two Rivers. Vang reported Elijah missing, claiming he had fallen asleep and awoke to find the child gone. Both Vang and Baur have been charged with child neglect, and Vang faces additional felony charges. They have both pleaded not guilty. In April, it was reported that Baur had left Elijah with Vang for extended periods as a form of discipline, a claim outlined in a criminal complaint. This background has further complicated the case, as the circumstances of Elijah's disappearance and death come under greater scrutiny. Two Rivers resident Roy Randall, who lives near where Elijah's remains were found, shared his anguish. "It's just really rough," Randall said. "You don't expect something like this to hit so close to home. It's too close to home." As the community mourns the loss of a young life and grapples with the details of this tragic case, authorities continue to investigate. The focus now shifts to seeking justice for Elijah Vue and uncovering the full truth behind his untimely death. Authorities are asking community members to avoid the area where the remains were discovered while the investigation continues. Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Two Rivers Police Department. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Without getting to Jargon-ey, our guest Gregory Thomas and yours truly explored where and how we in the private sector and within institutions can support the journey from on-the-shelf research to marketplace success. Gregory is The Executive Director and Lecturer for the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship, Isenberg School University of Massachusetts Amherst. UMASS is a leader in cutting edge research for a number of Massachusetts tech sectors. The UMASS system which includes campuses in Lowell, Dartmouth, Boston and the Chan Medical School in Worcester offers a robust set of innovation-driven resources for students and community members. How can the private sector better interact with programs like those at Berthiaume? How do we build a more robust, diverse and resource rich Pioneer Valley tech sector? How do we best access ideas in financial modeling, management and tech transfer so, in the end, we're building an economy that is better at creating well-paying, meaningful work? These are the themes of our conversation this hour. At SMGraves Associates, we've joined up with Living Local 413 to develop a series of mixed-use properties in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts as desirable locations for tech and tech enabled entrepreneurs to live, work and find important resources through our programming including access to venture capital, accelerators and top-tier mentors. We're eager to work with and help our private sector partners leverage relationships with the region's best institutions like UMASS.
It's not enough to just claim you're going to write a book and then sit down and magically will words to paper. Before they begin, every nonfiction author should consider their who, what, and why. When these three things are in focus, the writing process is easier, and the author has more clarity, confidence, and control. When authors have a strong foundation, they have a strong finish. Award-winning author, international book coach, and ghostwriter Ally Berthiaume will provide authors with valuable expert insights to establish their strong foundation. Tailored to those who are just getting started and want to start on the right foot, this talk will focus on the importance of authors identifying their ideal reader (who), their main message or promise (what), and the objectives of writing this book, for both them and their audience (why). Pulled into the fold will be key principles from Berthiaume's latest book, Do Not Write a Book...Until You Read This One. This is training you won't want to miss.Love the show? Written by Will Lochamy Played by Reed Lochamy, Andrew Gelderman, and Kristen BerthiaumeFor most rounds, there are three questions, and you rank your answers, assigning point values of 5, 3, and 1 each round, depending on your level of confidence. The one you feel best about is your 5-point answer, the one you're just guessing on is your 1-point answer. (For any rounds where the points don't work this way, we'll discuss that during the game.)If you feel certain that you know the answer to all three questions in a typical round, then instead of assigning points of 5, 3 and 1, you can go for 11 points. If you do that and you answer all three questions correctly, you get 11 points (instead of 9). However, if you do that and you miss just one question, you get a 0 for the round. The bonus round question has five possible answers. You get 3 points for every correct answer you submit. Like with going for 11 in typical rounds, though, you can choose to go for 20 in the bonus round (but doing so is risky in the same way that going for 11 in typical rounds is).Have questions about the game or how it works? Please feel free to email those to will@bhammountainradio.com

We're saying goodbye today to the heart and soul of Practicing Catholic – our producer and social media specialist, Cami Berthiaume. She's headed to Ascension Press as their community engagement guru, and we thought it'd be a nice way to celebrate her time with us as producer to have one final little round table with the three of us!
The Book Leads – Episode 46: Ally Berthiaume & Dear Universe, I Get It Now: Letters on the Art and Journey of Being Brave and Being Me. I recently sat down with Book Coach, Writing Guide, and Ghostwriter, Ally Berthiaume, to discuss her career in and passion for writing, and her book. Here's another creative in my circle who is sharing her story with me. This is yet another story of someone who goes down a path in life that just doesn't feel right, all the while feeling something is whispering in her ear, beckoning her to take a different path. In our talk she shares with me that journey and what happened when everything finally clicked. Ally's book is made up of letters she wrote to the universe, walking it through the emotions and experiences of various periods through her life, the good, the bad, the ugly. It's amazing how we can look back at all we made it through and see it all with a different lens, even laughing at the chaos of the hard times, knowing we made it through and that we're better for it. So many of us have similar over-arching themes to our lives but that remain so unique to who we are. We all have the opportunity to look back. We all have the opportunity to learn. We all have the opportunity to laugh. It looks different from one person to the next, but the answers to most of what we need are there – in the past. Episode Highlights ·Her work has a lot of cross-over between her loves of psychology and creative writing, for which the center of it all is the human story and experience. She talks about one of the most pivotal moments in her life, when she had 2 months of living expenses, a hope, and a dream, and never looked back. (Although she still thinks it was a bit insane.) “If you can impact one person, I know you can impact many more.” We're all asked, “WHAT do you want to be when you grow up?” when it should be “WHO do you want to be when you grow up?” The MAIN QUESTION underlying my conversation with Ally is, If you could send the universe letters, how would writing about each of the major experiences in your life change you? Ally's Bio Ally is the founder of The Write Place, Right Time, her virtual boutique of book coaching and ghostwriting services. As a writing guide or ghost, Ally serves leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries across North America and Europe who know they have the power to activate healing (their own and their readers') by sharing their stories and spreading their message. She supports her clients in writing the book that will light up their world and ours. Ally is also the author of Dear Universe, I Get it Now: Letters on the Art and Journey of Being Brave and Being Me. She's co-authoring her next upcoming book, due out sometime this August of 2023 (which is currently still untitled) but that will focus on helping newbie nonfiction authors write, publish, and promote their books. When she's not at the keyboard or stuck inside a book, you'll find her drinking Maple Lattes, solving the most recent Hunt-a-Killer case, watching The Princess Bride for the umpteenth time, or spending time with her husband and son. Louis-Charles Berthiaume (LC) was delivered DOA (Dead On Arrival) but somehow revived himself long enough to join STRIKE A CHORD. LC discusses his solo project Dead Alright—is it a blessing or a curse to produce an album in isolation? LC is the front man for Brand New Lungs and Never Hit Again but during the pandemic decided to explore creating music going commando—zero bandmates and opinions, freedom to explore—but mostly no pants! Dead Alright is a unique band name. If you have a cool band name you need cool artwork to go with it. The undead vibe started with looking like tortilla man from Slip Knot with a touch of Halloween. But how did this franken-zombie become the band's mascot? The band's debut single “Smoke and Mirrors” is a hardcore punk rock banger. The song is about being stuck in the past, rehashing old stories rather than going out and creating new memories. We're looking forward to memorizing each new single until the album is released.
Jennifer Berthiaume is the Vice President of Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, FL. Lion Country's mission is to be a leader in animal care, conservation and education to inspire people through connections with wildlife in a fun, family-friendly environment. Located just west of West Palm Beach, Lion Country Safari offers a unique experience that combines a zoo, safari, amusement park, and water park. Jennifer has been with Lion Country for more than 19 years, yet she still walks the park every single day and says that it never gets old. Prior to taking on the role of Vice President, Jennifer oversaw marketing, public relations, and social media and from the stories she shares in this interview, it is clear that marketing and guest experience go hand-in-hand, rather than acting as completely separate departments. Jennifer shares how a negative social media post was managed so well that it created a loyal advocate, as well as how a publicity event turned first-time visitors into raving fans. She also shares how Lion Country managed challenges during the pandemic while at the same time ensuring a positive guest experience. Lastly, the focus that Jennifer places on motivating and inspiring her team shows such a high level of appreciation, which Jennifer says is driven by the importance of kindness.
Ally Berthiaume is a professional writer, native Vermonter, practicing feminist, recovering middle child, wannabe superhero, and a mom who's pretty sure she's “winging it.” She holds an MFA in creative writing and is also the Lady Boss Owner of The Write Place, Right Time, her virtual boutique of copywriting and ghostwriting services. Key takeaways: How did Ally get started in her entrepreneurial journey? Ally was going through a divorce when she found Kathy. Ally was miserable in her job. There were a lot of promises made about her job, and they weren't kept. Despite how much Ally hated it, she needed to hold on to the stability of it all because her personal life was falling apart. How did Ally find Kathy? Ally has wanted to be a writer her entire life. Now was the time. When Ally started working for herself, she surpassed her salary and was surprised. Why would anyone work a regular job ever again? Ally shares some of her favorite clients to work for. You need to share your story! Ally talks about what it's like working for and writing for Kathy. How does Ally conduct her research and write in the same tone of voice as her client? You can go crazy with just re-reading your book and editing it, and editing it, and editing it. You need an outside perspective. What are some of the disadvantages of self-publishing a book? A typo is the bane of every writer's existence. Resources: Thewriteplacerighttime.com Quotes: “From 2010 to 2018, I was getting to the point where I wasn't satisfied. I was undervalued but overworked and it was just not what I was cut out for. I was meant to do more.” “I'm never going back! I'm never going to go back to working for somebody else.” “It's a superpower, I call it, hearing between the lines. Zeroing in on what it is you're saying even if you don't think you're organized in what you're trying to tell me.”
What's it like to live out Fertility Awareness (FA) in everyday life? How can Natural Family Planning (NFP) help your marriage? What can we do to broaden the conversation around FA/NFP? Bridget sits down with Cami Berthiaume, Digital Content Coordinator for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Fertility Awareness Advocate, to talk about what it's like to live out FA/NFP in everyday life. She shares more broadly about why FA/NFP is so valuable for women and how her own personal journey led her to become an advocate for holistic women's health. Cami also shares the realities of living out NFP in marriage and why couples need more support to thrive (not just survive) in this space. Interviewee bio: Cami works as Digital Content Coordinator for the Archdiocese of St. Paul's Office of Communications, which encompasses her role as Producer for Practicing Catholic - a radio show collaboration between the Archdiocese and Relevant Radio 1330AM. Her love for authentic evangelization also led to the creation of her side business, Cookies by CJ: a custom cookie business catering to celebrations of the Sacraments, and all events in between! Cami married her high school sweetheart, Ryan, in the summer of 2019 and her love for women's health stems from her own deep dive into the world of NFP during their engagement. When she's not baking cookies, you can find her visiting new breweries around the Twin Cities, hosting game nights in her tiny apartment, and volunteering with the youth ministry and Confirmation programs at her parish (not simultaneously). You can follow Cami on Instagram @cj.berthiaume and @cookiesbycj1.

This weeks guest on the SpaceQ podcast is Philip Berthiaume the CEO of SpaceHorizon, a Canadian based launch services company operating out of Ottawa. The company has ambitious plans to become the first orbital launch provider in Canada. Earlier this month, the company announced it was going to resell launch services from other companies while at the same time it moves forward with developing its own fleet of rockets. Having just completed the conceptual design stage, the company’s first launch vehicle, called Launch Vehicle 1 or LV1, is planned as a small satellite launcher with an estimated development cost of $50 million. The company currently doesn’t have the resources to fully fund the development of the rocket and will be reaching out to investors mid-year. Philip says they eventually want to launch from Canada, but that they don’t necessarily want to build their own spaceport. They would rather be the user of a facility that someone else builds, such as Maritime Launch Services. Philip provides more insight into the company and its plans then they’ve revealed publicly to date. Listen in.

A yogi mama with a diversity of experience in the yoga-Ayurveda world, Jennifer Hardy-Berthiaume (Jenny Bee), recently published her first book on using Ayurveda to parent with greater ease and for greater health and harmony in the household. We talk about how we know each other, just a little nostalgia, before getting into conversation about the challenges of parenting, and how critical yoga and Ayurveda are for knowing yourself and your kids. Jenn shares the super cute way she describes the doshas in her book, and some of the ways she integrates Ayurveda into her parenting her active kid, her more passive little guy, and what dinnertime is like in their household. We commiserate on the challenges and surprises of parenthood, but even if you're not a parent, you probably teach a lot of them. Get to know a little bit about some insider information on what it's like to be a yogi mama. For show notes and more information on where to find Jenn's book, go to www.intelligentedge.yoga
