Finishing your manuscript is exciting, and you're probably eager to finally see your book out in the world. But the reality is, hitting "publish" isn't the finish line—it's just the start. Getting your book printed or uploaded online is satisfying, but that's only part of being an author. The real challenge—and opportunity—is in finding readers and building genuine connections with them. It's not about fancy marketing jargon; it's about knowing who your readers are, speaking directly to them, and creating lasting relationships. That's where I come in. I help entrepreneurs plan book launches that are clear, practical, and designed specifically for their audience.  Together, we'll figure out exactly who your readers are and the best ways to reach them—through virtual events, personal messages, meaningful content, and real conversations. The goal is simple: make your book a valuable asset that grows your business over time rather than a one-time achievement. If you'd like some guidance, let's chat. I'm offering a free 30-minute brainstorming session to discuss your book launch strategy and how it can support your larger business goals.  Fill out the form at www.BookLaunchBrainstorm.com to get started. Being a first-time author is often a mix of excitement, self-doubt, discovery, and persistence. You might initially feel thrilled by the prospect of sharing your story or ideas with the world. You dive in with strong motivation, full of ideas, and maybe a bit of romanticism about the process. Every word written feels like a small victory, and each page a milestone. But as you go deeper, reality hits: writing a book is hard.  You might confront self-doubt ("Is this any good?"), impostor syndrome ("Who am I to write this?"), and moments when inspiration wanes. You begin to worry about whether anyone will want to read it. The author journey is a rollercoaster of pride, frustration, and growth, but ultimately, completing the book feels deeply fulfilling. It's an accomplishment that represents a body of work and the journey you undertook to create it. But publishing is not the end of the story. Reflect on why you wrote a book and how the book fits into your larger business strategy. You have more work to do to meet those goals and can't do it alone. You need expert support to help you leverage your book to create the impact you envisioned. To assist you in finding your author community and connecting with experts, I've created valuable resources for authors at www.BizBookPubHub.com. Joining me today are three talented authors. Ever dream about becoming an author and selling millions of books? Well, here's a reality check: most books sell fewer than 100 copies in their first year, and the average is under 200 books annually. Over a book's lifetime, it may sell fewer than 1,000 copies. In the publishing world, selling more than 5,000 is considered a success. But here's the thing—those numbers don't really matter. If you're writing a book to grow your business, you don't need to sell millions of copies to generate millions in sales. I'm pleased to interview one of our Biz Book Publishing Hub's Founding Partners. Our Hub Partners are experts who support entrepreneurs along their author journey.  Today's guest has dedicated her career to helping others build meaningful connections. She specializes in empowering introverts to develop a sense of self-worth, discover their community, and pursue the careers of their dreams. Having grown up painfully shy and feeling like an outsider, she once believed that forming deep, authentic connections with many people was impossible, which held her back from trying. However, everything changed as she embraced leadership roles and began to reveal a more outgoing side of herself. Since then, she has been on a mission to reframe what it means to be an introvert. Initially leading by example, she now helps others through her company, Confident Introvert. Through corporate workshops, webinars, and private one-on-one coaching, she empowers introverts to enhance their networking skills. To further share her insights, she wrote “Confident Introvert: A Practical Guide to Connecting with Others at Networking Events and Beyond.”  She is a Hub Partner because she collaborates with nonfiction authors looking to blend strategy with personal storytelling from an empowered, heart-centered perspective. She is a certified hypnotherapist, guiding clients through the writing process by addressing issues related to visibility, confidence, and vulnerability.  Please join me in welcoming Stephanie Thoma.  In this episode, we discuss:

Writing a book is like running a marathon. Oh, wait. A runner can stop when they reach the finish line. Maybe the comparison is more like an Iron Man Triathlon, where the athlete first swims 2.4 miles, then bikes 112 miles, and THEN runs a marathon. Yep, that's a better comparison for the author's journey. The Iron Man Triathlon is considered one of the world's most difficult one-day sporting events. The athlete's journey does not start that day. They spend months training for the big event, hiring trainers, buying equipment, following a strict diet regiment, and enduring all manner of torture to accomplish this impressive feat. Likewise, authors spend months, if not years, navigating a minefield of imposter syndrome, writer's block, and other tortuous moments broken up by moments of genius. To overcome this, writers need a plan, a team, and a coach to help them through all the triathlon phases: writing, publishing, and marketing. That's why I founded the Biz Book Publishing Hub, which has more than 50 experts ready to guide entrepreneurs through the complexities of their author journey. I regularly host free virtual networking events for writers and authors and host this podcast to bring you inside the minds of authors. As a book launch strategist, I know that first-time authors often struggle to see past the writing phase. Today's panel will share their experiences as authors, including lessons learned and strategies that worked. Tune in to see how being part of a supportive author community can make all the difference. You'll find all of our episodes at www.BizBookPublishingHub.com. Now, it's my pleasure to introduce our panelists: Dawn Kristy wrote “33 Ways Not To Screw Up Cybersecurity,” which offers practical tips and checklists in 33 easy-to-follow chapters to help individuals and businesses protect themselves from cyber threats and avoid common security pitfalls. Kathy Sparrow wrote “Ignite Your Leadership: Proven Tools to Energize Teams, Fuel Momentum, and Accelerate Results,” which provides actionable strategies and insights to empower leaders to inspire their teams, drive performance, and achieve organizational success. Nancy Giere wrote “Bundle Your Brilliance: Turn your expertise into profitable online courses " to teach experts how to package and sell their expertise effectively. Please join me in welcoming Dawn, Kathy, and Nancy.  Our guests emphasize the importance of planning pre-launch activities. Dawn shares her experience of how a strong pre-publication effort can make all the difference in creating a successful book launch. Plan ahead, folks! Kathy, a seasoned writing coach, advises all aspiring authors to write a book to boost credibility. If you're short on time, she suggests hiring a ghostwriter. Writing a book isn't just about sharing knowledge; it can significantly elevate your professional stature. Nancy and Dawn stress the importance of knowing your audience. Crafting a book that meets your readers' specific needs and interests is key to ensuring its success. Remember, it's not just about what you want to write but what your audience wants to read.
