I've coached hundreds of people through the mend or end decision and there is understandably a lot of resistance because both the decision to end and the subsequent transition of divorce is overwhelming at best... Which is why i'm so excited to share today's episode. It's about an ideal BRIDGE from decision to action. We are exploring the concept of a Pre-Divorce Guidance package, which helps clients enter the divorce process feeling calm, educated, and clear. Andrea Vacca shares that the most effective way to approach divorce is by understanding how the process works, from the key issues you'll need to address to the options available for navigating those challenges. With the right guidance, you can avoid devastating surprises and be prepared to make well-informed decisions at the right time. Working with an experienced family law attorney before you start the divorce process offers essential clarity and protection. Andrea Vacca explains how delaying legal decisions out of fear or emotional uncertainty can lead to unintended legal and financial consequences. By getting Pre-Divorce Guidance, clients can confidently face their options, addressing the fears and hurdles that often hold people back, such as concerns around children, finances, and future identity. If you're feeling stuck, Andrea shares valuable advice to help you move forward without regret.

Virtually everyone who works in the divorce industry will agree that the court system is broken and often does more harm than good for those facing divorce. Unless your situation is extreme and needing the heavy hand of the court, there are significantly better, more amicable approaches to dissolving your marriage such as mediation and the collaborative process. Family lawyer, Andrea Vacca, joins to discuss.

Hi, 璐璐. Hi, everyone. So let me propose the word of the day. Okay. This is a word that - well basically will bring up some painful memory of the past 3 years. Okay. So, you know it has something to do with pandemic. Yeah. Is this something we probably all got? And that is the word vaccine. Oh yes. Vaccine or vaccination. 就是接种疫苗, 对吧?疫苗. I'm pretty sure you all got vaccinated. Well, for COVID. Oh, yeah, yeah, I got vaccinated quite a few times, actually I think now.Me too, me too. But I've always wondered, although we've talked about vaccination and all the relevant words and expressions in other episodes. But where does this word even come from? Vaccine? Is it medically originated? No, it's actually a Latin word and it comes from the word for cow. Cow like mooooooo, cow. Moo, cow. Vacca.所以是拉丁文的牛的意思. I fail to see the connection between modern medicine or medical treatment and moo cows. Well, we just call them cows in English. If you call them moo cows, it sounds a little bit stupid. Okay, thank you. That's alright. But I'm pretty sure there's interesting background story. Well yeah. And it all comes from when vaccines were first invented. So, this was in the 18th century and a British scientist named Edward Jenner. Now Edward Jenner was a doctor as well as a scientist. And he noticed something quite strange. That June that time, when smallpox was everywhere.

Cynthia Vacca Davis is a semi-salty adjunct English professor with a trunk full of papers and snack wrappers. She holds an MFA in creative nonfiction, leads writing workshops, and has written hundreds of feature stories, and two independently published YA novels. She's the author of Intersexion: a Story of Faith, Identity, and Authenticity from Lake Drive BooksBook Description: "Sometimes in life we reach an intersection where we must pick either safety or stepping into life as our true selves. It's a moment of courage, vision, and finding our voice.Cynthia, an adjunct professor with a trunk full of ungraded papers and snack wrappers, has been an LGBTQIA+ ally for years—in convenient ways. She enjoys the company of her queer friends—but her support isn't risky; it hasn't cost her anything. Until she meets Danny. The youngest child in a conservative religious family, Danny played the role of dutiful daughter—Dani, with an “i”—which was safer than jeopardizing faith and family. Seemingly born female, yet desperate to be seen as the boy and then man he is, Danny kept playing along, until his life and health depended on one thing: the truth.Told in both Danny's and Cynthia's voices, Intersexion is a moving, hopeful exploration of the cost of being known—as an intersex minority, ally, or asker of difficult questions—and what it means to come into one's own. It's a book for anyone craving a more authentic life. It's a story about the intersections we find ourselves in by no choice of our own, and the life-giving choices we can make.Named on the Top 34 LGTBQ Christian Books of 2022 by Q Spirit"Connect with Cynthia Vacca DavisBookLinktreeInstagramConnect with Andrew PledgerLinktreeSupport on PatreonInstagramTikTokTwitterYouTubeWebsite Hosted on Acast. For decades, Aldo Vacca has been the Managing Director of the Produttori del Barbaresco, the best and most successful wine co-op in Europe. Through his leadership and guidance, the Produttori has taken its wines, and with it, the wines of Barbaresco beyond Piedmont in northeastern Italy, to world renown. Aldo's job at the Produttori is not just an occupation, it is his family legacy and a professional choice he made that has benefitted all who love Nebbiolo. Photo: www.rarewineco.com Aldo took a degree in Viticulture at the Torino University and worked at the prestigious University of California at Davis, after which he got one of the most coveted jobs in Piedmont – he got a job working for Gaja in 1986. But after 4 years, he realized that rather than fame and modernism, he wanted to do something that celebrated the land of Barbaresco and all it represented. He followed in the footsteps of his great grandfather and used his infinite knowledge of Nebbiolo and his skills at management and hospitality, to transform the Produttori into one of the best-known brands in Italy. I have spent time with Aldo. He's brilliant, cheeky, and passionate, and after two years, I'm so happy to have finally gotten him on the show. Aldo speaks to groups about the Produttori all the time, has been in lots of media, and he is absolute pro. This is a great show! Here is a general outline of what we discuss: We discuss the harvest that just was (2022) – what was hard, what was normal, and the changes that the Barbaresco region has endured as climate change has taken hold here. Aldo discusses his family legacy in Barbaresco and how it ties into the region's development. He tells us about the hard times in the region and how the Cantine Sociali and then the Produttori were formed to address the social and economic challenges of grape farmers in the 1800s and then again in the mid 1900s. We learn about the structure of the Produttori and how its quality standards, efficiency, and generosity make it so successful. Aldo tells us how the Produttori has managed to hold its members to such high standards. Photo: Bottling at the Produttori del Barbaresco in May 2022 (c)Wine For Normal People We get into the details on some of the logistics, the management and membership structure, and the winemaking philosophy (to let Barbaresco shine!). We discuss the extras the members get – knowledge sharing, status and prestige by being part of the Produttori, and the incentives to farm for quality not quantity. And why owning great land yields to great results – they own pieces of the best vineyards. Aldo tells us about the Barbaresco DOCG – the land, factors that make it different from Barolo, and the overview of the style of wine here. He talks about the MGA system (he refers to it as single vineyard, which is what they are) and what it means for the area. Aldo and I talk about the wines the Produttori makes, we discuss the flagship Barbaresco and how it is made, and the very affordable and delicious Langhe Nebbiolo, an important product to show people who are just getting into Nebbiolo what it can do and be. Aldo also helps us understand their single vineyard wines and why each expresses something so unique and individual, based on site Photo: Aldo Vacca educates Wine For Normal People Patrons(c)Wine For Normal People We end with a conversation of why the new generation of winemakers and land owners in Barbaresco is so great and Aldo's great hope for a bright future for Barbaresco and the Produttori. Every adjunct college professor dreams of having a full-time, tenure-track position. Cynthia Vacca Davis was offered a tenured position teaching English at a small Bible College, a job that offered a good salary with benefits. The problem was, Cynthia had just agreed to be a supporter of her friend Danny, who had just come out as an intersex male after living well into his adulthood as a female. The president of the Unnamed Bible College (UBS) pretty much lost his dull, tiny mind upon hearing about Cynthia's friend and her plan to write about Danny in her MFA program. So, Cynthia had to make a choice: sign the violently anti-LGBTQIA faith statement to get the job or forego the job in hopes of finding something else. Evangelical schools make every student, faculty, and staff member sign statements of faith that contain all manner of indefensible garbage, and many sign it in bad faith, choosing to ignore the statement and still be in good standing at the school. I have a whole book about doing this, myself. But Cynthia couldn't bring herself to attach her name to a school that expressed such overt hatred towards so many people in the world. She has a book, Intersexion, from Lake Drive Books about her and Danny's journeys that I hope you all will buy and read. I know I learned a lot about intersex people from it. A beautiful, honest, raw, hilarious and unedited conversation with author and professor Cynthia Vacca Davis and the person at the center of her new book, Intersexion, Danny Cooper. Danny is intersex and was raised as a female despite knowing his whole life this was not his true identity. Today on the show we talk about Danny's journey and are reminded not to leave the "I" off of LGBTQIA.For more information and to order Intersexion, go to:www.cynthiavaccadavis.com------------Be sure to check out my website to listen to past episodes and see what else is happening including info about my upcoming book Bring it Home which is set to be released in September at www.mattkendziera.comFind me on Instagram @mattkendzieraFind me on Facebook HEREReligion has too often put a dark stain on history and has left a lot of destruction in its wake. Because of this, we are at a time in history when many are rethinking religion and faith altogether. The exciting part is that In in the midst of this faith shift lies hope for a better future. A future where faith acts not as an opportunity to oppress but as a catalyst to do good.Outside of the religious systems of our past life is beginning to bloom as many dedicated people of faith are coming up with new culture changing ideas to create a better and more humane world. The work being done is difficult and time consuming leaving little space for those engaged in it to share their stories. Matt Kendziera uses his voice to elevate the voices of these changemakers.Stories give courage to the dreamers and hope to the discouraged. Each one has the ability to motivate and inspire the next brilliant idea from the next social entrepreneur or faith leader. Through speaking, writing, and producing Matt brings these stories, causes and thoughts to the forefront so that they can be seen heard and experienced.Matt has had the honor to work with incredible difference making organizations such as Fierce Freedom, Rachels Challenge, Ashoka, Soularize, Celtic way and others create the space necessary to inspire the world to act out of kindness, compassion and love. There is hope in the voices and stories of people of faith. When hope emerges, change happens. When change happens, the world becomes a more beautiful place.
