Wow, a new episode of And Introducing - this one featuring legendary music producer and musician Gordon Raphael, whose musical ear, intuition, tech savvy and patience all played a huge role in helping craft the indelible sound of The Strokes' first two albums, Is This It and Room On Fire. His book The World Is Going To Love This: Up From The Basement With the Strokes delightfully details these recordings, plus his work with Regina Spektor on Soviet Kitsch, his time running live sound for the Libertines, and his experiences generally gallivanting around New York and Europe, making cool music all the way. The book is awesome and we had a great time talking about it! So vermeiden Sie Verwechslungen.

In this episode we've got a 3 for 1 special as we look at 3 classic UFO cases from 1948. First we briefly take a look at the Mantel UFO Incident and the Chiles-Whitted UFO Encounter before focusing on our main topic, the Gorman UFO Dogfight involving Lieutenant George F. Gorman who claims to have had a dueling with a UFO on the night of October 1, 1948 in the skies over North Dakota. This became a widely publicized UFO incident and was one of these 3 "classic" UFO incidents that proved to Air Force Intelligence Specialists that UFOs are real and helped to shape the UFO phenomenon in the mind of the public. In this Halloween special we get into the legendary slasher franchise Friday the 13th. Discussing the films, some true stories, a debate on Jason Voorhees vs Michael Myers and we even get into a history of superstitions surrounding Friday and the number 13. Why has the number 13 been surrounded by superstition for millennia? How did Friday get thrown into the mix? And what does all this have to do with Jesus Christ and the Knights Templar? Tune in to find out. Special thanks to our guest (Lexi) on this episode filling in for T-bag and HAPPY HALLOWEEN to the loyal legion of listeners out there! Also this contains SPOILERS for basically every Friday the 13th. Music Credit: Rebecca Black - Friday (8-Bit Version)

TREKKIES was a documentary that practically lived in the VCR of Bob and Tim’s first apartment. As a look at Star Trek’s obsessive fan base it provided them a re-watchability of quotes, inside jokes and general MST3King. But such disparaging words seem odd coming from the hosts of a podcast so focused on the impact of pop culture. And it was with this re-watch that they first began reevaluating their late 90s behaviors. This time on a very special episode of Square Roots we combine with Owen Choules from Classic Schmassic, Voltron-style, to form a super cool robot called Classic Roots! Its mission: to look at the feature film created as a prequel for the release of Final Fantasy XV, called Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. We have so many questions, and even more inappropriate nicknames for the only slightly overweight Libertus. Questions like: Who are these people? Is this set before or during Final Fantasy XV? Where are all the chocobos? Why does that one guy have a super long sleeve? And why does he look like Tom Baker? Can this movie have only one female character at a time? Are giant statues smashing up a city cool? Judge for yourself, rent the movie, and then let us know what you think as we all prep for the release of Final Fantasy XV!
