We apologize for the delay, but we needed time to bring you a special episode. Normally, our guests are Titans of Industry, Fashion Gods, and Scions of Style. But, today, we bring you a story of how to find yourself through clothing. Even how to develop style as an outsider, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, on a chicken farm. We welcome our proto-intern, Zach Smith to The Bunker, as we contemplate early HBO TV, Growing Up On The Internet in the 90s, The Unexpected Influence of “Concert Dress,” Hip-Hop's Indelible Influence on Prep and Ivy Style through Andre 3000 and Kanye West (RIP). We Return to the Trenches of High School, The Inception of the Blogosphere.

We are back with part two examining the suspiciously clickbait article titled "What A Cruise Is Really Like - Fantasy Versus Reality" by Nicole Castelino. It is very apparent that this was written by AI and not by a real travel/cruise writer. This poorly written article was published to draw readers who are drawn into fake drama and negative stories, with unsupported "facts". This article's sole purpose is to create controversy to feed the search engines algorithyms that like negative stories, videos, etc. We are exposing their tactics. Keep On Cruising! Tommy & Scott

Scott recently ran across a blog post about cruising with a suspiciously clickbait title "What A Cruise Is Really Like - Fantasy Versus Reality" by Nicole Castelino. We take a dive and read through this article which was full of straw man arguments, untrue accusations and just poor writing about cruising. Why was this even published? Who is Nicole Castelino? What is Livstyl.com all about? It became more apparent as we read through this "article" we felt that an AI bot wrote this. Is this the future of cruise blogging? Listen and let's discuss. Share with us your thoughts on this show. Keep On Cruising! Tommy & Scott

https://DarkHorseSchooling.com The Dark Horse Entrepreneur Podcast helps entrepreneurs, coaches, and course creators who want to build a business online but are struggling with technology, procrastination, and imposter syndrome. In this episode, Tracy Brinkman discusses five money-generating niches that entrepreneurs can focus on to build a successful business. Tracy Brinkmann shares that the topic of health is one of the best money generating topics out there. She explains that the health and fitness industry is growing rapidly and is worth billions of dollars. If you are passionate about the topic of health, you can carve out your own niche and make a lot of money. Tracy discusses how to become a successful fitness content creator by narrowing down your niche and providing value to your audience. They also talk about the importance of money in the fitness industry, and how to make and save money as a content creator within the fitness arena. Tracy discusses different ideas of possible blogging topics that could be profitable. The topics discussed were health, money, food, fitness and.. one other area of passion. It was noted that while not everybody is interested in every topic, there are ways to cater to different interests within each topic. For example, within the topic of food, one could blog about recipes, cooking classes, or the best places to eat in a certain city. It was also noted that food bloggers tend to make a higher median income than bloggers in other industries. You'll find it far easier to get over the hurdles, to crack through the barriers, to dig under the walls that are going to be placed between you and your goal, which is probably earning some money with it, right?. Heck, you could probably get the folks that come on to your videocast or your podcast or your blog to pay you via their marketing funds that they would use to pay for their advertising. One of the ladies I'm trying to get on the podcast has five of them (unique air BnBs) and they're all ones like a spaceship. One is like shaped like a dog crazy. Try creating a travel blog about the most unique airbnb's that are out there. Think about that for a moment, just for a moment, would you? There are a number of very unique B and B's out there. There are some of them out there that are in the travel industry. So you could get your travel paid for, most likely, and enjoy the process at the same time. This week's guest is Alice Audley, founder of Blogosphere, an online magazine and events agency that also has its own podcast: Serious Influence. London-based Alice has a background in print journalism but decided to ditch her job to launch Blogosphere in 2013. Since then it's gained the respect of the influencer community and has become known as a media company that respects the craft of the blogger, the vlogger and the creator. In this episode we dig into how content creation has changed and discuss the criticism that some creators attract once they decide to go full time. We talk about authenticity and personality, and I also try to get to the heart of why Alice is so hard-working. Just a quick heads-up: there is a slight echo on my side for the first 10 minutes of this chat. I really do apologise but hope you can stick with it as the conversation truly is valuable. This week's guest is Demi Colleen, AKA Beauty Influencer of the Year at the recent Blogosphere awards here in the UK. For me, Demi is beyond anything that you might assume of an influencer in the traditional sense. She might be an influencer but she's not afraid of making beauty brands accountable when it comes to diversity, inclusion and outright racism. Since launching her blog in 2017 Demi, who is of Jamaican and Irish descent, has carved out her own niche, so, in this episode I wanted to find out what started her on her journey into beauty content. I also had to ask about her ongoing argument with UK chemist and beauty chain, Boots, and we discuss the trauma and shame that often comes with purchasing products that are made with black people and people of colour in mind. I find out what made Demi quit her studying – she had hoped to become a solicitor – and we discuss the bravery that is required when it's time to quit something that was initially a priority. Honestly, I feel you will gain so much from listening to this episode! Do please rate and review and please share with someone you think could benefit from listening. My guest this episode is body confidence influencer and mental health advocate Olivia Callaghan, aka ‘Self-Love Liv'. We dive into mental health and discrimination in the work place, choosing to love our bodies-flaws n' all, the joys of going sober and her on-going journey towards the ultimate goal: Self-love. Liv is a huge breath of fresh air on social media, sharing her personal experiences with mental health, body image, dealing with an eating disorder as a teenager and confronting suicidal thoughts. There is no topic off bounds on her Instagram page and her vulnerability is an inspiration to others. It hasn't been an easy journey for Liv but from her lowest point struggling with her mental health to recently being nominated as ‘Influencer of the year' at the Blogosphere awards, Liv is a shining example of how choosing to be kind to ourselves can go a long way towards finding a happy life balance that works for us. I hope you enjoy this episode and be sure to head on over to Liv'a Instagram page to show her some love. PATREON.COM/JESSDAVIES

Technorati rankings. Full RSS feeds vs partial RSS feeds. Blogrolls. The Techmeme leaderboards. Blogspot vs Wordpress vs Typepad. If you were a blogger over the mid-aughts, these were just a few of the things you might have obsessed over as you catapulted blog post after blog post into the ether, hoping someone would notice and provide you precious links and send even more precious readers. Back then, the internet felt huge, but the number of actual content producers was tiny compared to today, and distribution of content was much less centralized. A-list bloggers duked it out while the rest of us B and C-list bloggers pined desperately for attention from these internet demigods, who they themselves only wanted recognition and legitimacy bestowed upon them by the Mainstream Media. I remember all this because I was right there at ground zero, plugging away as a blogger while I went to college and later worked as a newspaper journalist. And so was my guest, Bill Beutler, who worked at a DC publication called The Hotline and launched a blog called The Blogometer. Tune in while we reminisce about a bygone era when we didn't live or die by the Facebook algorithm and the internet was a Wild West composed of various ideological fiefdoms.
