Hello again Fighty Friends, Happy February! This is my second time doing a podcast with Mr. Adrian Shead, I went out to Vancouver 2 years ago and did 3 podcasts and Adrian's was the one and only podcast I have never been able to recover, but since that time - a LOT has happened so it was a fresh podcast all over again and I was just as excited to talk to him. Adrian tells us about his time in the British military before becoming a full time trainer in Thailand for 16 years, making the calculated move to Canada to keep coaching which in turn, eventually opening up his own facility - MUAY THAI ACADEMY in Vancouver, we also talk about the MASSIVE year for his fighter Petch coming off of a historic Glory tournament win, and I ask Adrian "Is Saenchai the GOAT?" and he gives his definitive answer! I try to keep the podcasts to 1 hr, but selfishly i wanted to chat for 3 more! this amount of coaching, training, traveling, and being part of the biggest and best events with the biggest and best of Muaythai and kickboxing that Adrian has experienced is damn near UNMATCHED! - i guess this gives us an excuse for another one in the future! what a great chat with a genuine, down to earth fella - he always makes you feel like a friend. SHOUT OUT TO YOU ADRIAN!

In this episode, Andrew Shead delves into Jeremiah 23:25-40, examining God's condemnation of false prophets who deceive through dreams and false messages. The episode contrasts false and true prophecy, emphasizing that true prophecy is rooted in God's word, which is powerful and transformative. False prophecy, born from moral corruption, leads people astray. Andrew reflects on the role of prophecy in judgment and transformation, highlighting Jeremiah's example and ultimately pointing to Christ as the ultimate fulfilment of God's word.
In this sermon, Andrew Shead expounds Jeremiah 23:9-24, focusing on the power and fragility of God's Word. He contrasts true prophecy with the false prophets of Jeremiah's time, who used God's name for their own gain, causing destruction and chaos. The sermon emphasizes the responsibility of speaking God's Word with reverence, recognizing the temptation to twist the truth to please listeners. Andrew reminds us that God's Word is powerful and will accomplish His purposes.

The Houston Cougars finished the season in the Sweet 16 at 32-5 after a heartbreaking loss to Duke. Houston started fast and Duke had a "deer in the headlights" look to them while the refs let the teams play. But a devastating game-ending ankle injury to Jamal Shead at the 6:50 mark of the first half (when UH led 16-10) proved pivotal, allowing Duke to eek out a 54-51 win, ending Houston's season. So we'll begin this final in-season episode summarizing the Duke game and the impact of Shead's injury. Houston wins a big top-10 battle for Big 12 supremacy. Correspondent Adam Spolane reports.
The original duo, the OG co-hosts Dustin & Sam re-convene with Bobby off in sunny Florida and proverbially chew on the following Houston Cougar topics: A 3-0 men's hoops week that featured career game from Jamal Shead in a demolition of Texas Tech, a historic defensive performance that saw UCF only make 7 field goals in regulation, AND the program's 1st ever Big 12 road win in a nailbiter at BYU Also previewing the men's hoops week to come: featuring a pesky and somewhat worrying K State team and the hated/enigmatic horns Back to frustration for women's hoops as the program goes 0-3 in conference play and hits rock bottom at WVU... but winnable games might beckon this week? A quick roundup of the finalized football staff and some transfer comings and goings Previewing the swim & dive and tennis seasons that have just started and are about to start, respectively.

Aaron Webster arrived in what is now Bucoda in 1854 and became the area's first American immigrant. Webster sold his claim and sawmill to Oliver Shead in the 1860s, and Shead gave the community the official name "Seatco," which is a native term for an evil spirit or demon. In 1872, the Northern Pacific Railroad built a station at Seatco. Eventually, using the first two initials of three major investors in regional industries—Buckley, Coulter, and David—the town was christened Bucoda.Investors started mining coal in the region in the 1880s, but the coal was of poor quality, and the activities were irregular. Bucoda served as the first territorial jail for Washington from 1874 through 1888. Since the prisoners were forced to perform hazardous and hard physical labor in the local industrial sector, it developed a reputation as a harsh institution. When the state opened the Washington State Prison in Walla Walla, Washington, it was abandoned. On the 7th of June, 1910, Bucoda would formally be incorporated.Listen now to learn more about the fascinating history of this Thurston County town!A special thank you goes out to Al Hirsch for providing the music for the podcast, check him out on YouTube.Find merchandise for the podcast now available at: https://washington-history-by-jon-c.creator-spring.comIf you enjoy the podcast and would like to contribute, please visit: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/EvergreenpodIf you have any questions, episode ideas you'd like to see explored, or just have a general comment, please reach out at Historyoftheevergreenstatepod@gmail.comTo keep up on news for the podcast and other related announcements, please like and follow:https://www.facebook.com/HistoryoftheevergreenstatepodcastFind the podcast over on Instagram as well: @HISTORY_EVERGREENSTATEPODCASTYou can also find the podcast over on Youtube:http://www.youtube.com/@historyoftheevergreenstatepodReaching episode 100 would not have been possible if not for you, the listener, and for your continued support of the show.Thank you for listening to this landmark episode of the History of the Evergreen State Podcast!

In the 1920s through the 1960s indecent proposals, indecent advances, and honor slayings were all buzzwords used to explain one man's rationale for killing another. The handsome singer Louis Kenneth Neu murdered two men for their clothes, their cars, their cash, and his honor. When 35-year-old Lawrence Shead didn't arrive for work his Patterson, New Jersey colleagues went to his apartment. They found Mr. Shead dead on his bed. His suits, shoes, cash, and car were missing. Neighbors and friends reported Shead had a guest for a views days. As police pursued this guest they would find they were several steps behind as Lious Kenneth Neu had ditched Shead's black and yellow coupe escaping by train to New Orleans. In the lobby of the luxurious Jung Hotel Neu thought he'd hit the jackpot when he met a wealthy man from Tennessee. When he was finally caught and put on trial questions about Neu's mental health would be central as would his need to keep himself, the court, and the press entertained right up to the end. On this episode Brandon and I were joined by the always entertaining Joe Shead of www.goshedhunting.com. Joe is a long time outdoor writer, and one of my favorites at that. This is also Joe's third interview on the podcast so he has been with First Gen Hunter since the earliest days. In the past Joe has provided us with the details of his Alaska Bull Moose adventure, and his insight on how to find moose, and whitetail antlers in the North Woods. This time though we get a run down on everything Joe has been up to in the outdoors since the last time we talked. Of course, whenever you are talking to Joe their will be plenty of humor and funny misadventures included in the story telling- such as shed hunting half naked, snapping a TV personality's $400 musky rod in half, and plenty of other great stories. But the main thing we talk about is the release of Joe's latest book: "Buck Tales" which is now available for purchase. Tune in, learn a little, laugh a lot, and find your next great book to read in the deer stand.
