Betsy Goes to the Movies... and sometimes her friends go too
This movie puts the bad in "so bad it's good". It's deliciously low budget, campy, ridiculous, and I loved it. Listen as I point out plot holes, terrible wigs, and just overall enjoy myself.

After the nightmare of Terror at Blood Fart Lake, the Bloodfest goons needed some respite. An easy week with zero punishment was Dr. Nate's Rx, and everyone agreed that a quick rundown of our favorite boutique labels and recent releases was just the sort of low effort affair we required. Somehow we we talked for over two hours! We talked so long that Joey fell asleep on camera and may or may not have just cut us off before we were even done. We talked Vinegar Syndrome, Severin, Arrow, Mondo Macabro, Imprint, Dark Force, Second Sight, Umbrella, Roninflix, and more! We took a look at several dozen of our favorite releases, talked movies in general, took a look at what's coming for the new year and worked in some poop and D jokes along the way. Next week we will get back to normal with special guest Chad Kinkle (Jug Face, Dementer). #movies #podcast #horrormoviepodcast #podcastshow #vinegarsyndrome #severin #arrowvideo #mondomacabro #Imprintmedia #darkforce #FromBeyond #Roninflix #Bluray #4K #collecting #physicalmedia #bloodfestpod #bloodfest #screamfactory #scratchfactory Check us out at www.bloodfestpodcast.com twitter @bloodfestpodcast Support us on Patreon: Bloodfest Podcast | creating A Podcast | Patreon
For this episode Joey forced the Bloodfest crew to watch Terror At Blood Fart Lake, which is more of a hate crime than a movie. Nathan, Josh and Casey pledge to get their revenge no matter how long it takes or who is harmed. Then, to cleanse their minds, the guys discuss Bloody New Year, an incoherent late 80s direct to video horror. #bloodfest #terroratbloodfartlake #frightrags
We kick off 2022's spooky season and month of Halloween fun with horror movies, but for our first episode, we watched some deliberately bad movies and today we report back. Monday the 16th is the offbrand version of Friday the 13th, the same way fan films are the offbrand version of professional films. In honor of Brian's birthday, they all watched a few Friday the 13th fan films including Never Hike Alone, Never Hike in the Snow, and the brand new Jason Rising produced by Womp Stomp Films. They get into what works and doesn't work in fan film culture, and how much they've improved in the modern age. Plus, Meg is on an IV sip, Steve gets his Blood Fart Lake films confused, and they all agree Jason Vorhees is the uber violent Kool-Aid man. Also they announce the winner of the poll for the September Showdown. This weeks watch along is Terror at Blood Fart Lake. Its a doozey
Skeet, skeet, skeet, looks like rain! Holy flatulent cow, Moongoons this week's listener suggested movie is nearly beyond words. "Terror at Blood Fart Lake" has all the usual suspects when it come to a horrible ultra-low budget horror movie; over the top acting, one dimensional characters that are more like caricatures, shoddy special effects that are amateurish at best, and virtually no production value. However, if you dig a little deeper you'll find some of the best, most creative and original writing we've ever seen in this level of a movie. Pair that with the incredibly committed actors and some good delivery and you have yourself a surprisingly fun movie. Not to mention two of our newest favorite characters ever, who steal the show every time they are on screen in Leo DeChampa and Caspian.
This week on See You Next Wednesday, we're talking about Midnight Special - the new film from Jeff Nichols, starring Michael Shannon and Kirsten Dunst. Then, we're talking about, sigh, bloodfarts when Casey sits through the no-budget horror-comedy Terror at Blood Fart Lake - is it a sub-Troma mess or is there a glimmer of brilliance in them-there blood? Finally, we dive into A Certain Ratio's album Sextet. But first, we talk about After Earth, Lifetime's UnREAL, Big Trouble in Little China, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Ranch, Fuller House, and so much more! Get listenin'! Show Notes: Coming Soon! Promise! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Like with most sequels, everything is bigger and better this time. More dance offs, more wheelchairs, more fake ding-dongs, and more annoying chick that thinks it's the twenties.
What do you get when you have a tiny budget, bad actors, the desire to make a movie, and a thesaurus? A lot more than you might think.
