Today, you're going to learn the key to sales success in this current hectic sales climate from a unicorn wrangler. How to create sales success has changed since 2020. Scott Leese has been a part of 12 unicorns, so he knows a thing or three about growing sales rapidly. We touch on: The importance of being creative and trying new approaches in sales. The need for an omnichannel approach in prospecting. The role of fear and resistance to change in sales leaders. The value of building a digital network for sales success People are often resistant to trying new sales techniques because they fear failure. The devil we know is often more comfortable than trying something new. Many sales professionals are willing to make cold calls repeatedly, even though they often result in rejection, but they are quick to give up on new techniques after just one attempt. Startups and sales leaders often fail because they are unwilling to move away from what is familiar, even if it is not yielding the desired results. Scott Leese emphasizes the importance of taking risks and not being afraid of failure. "The way to stand out in the AI world is to be as human as freaking possible." "Encourage creativity and coach it out of people." 00:00 Surfing and Sales 02:07 Unicorns and Exits 09:29 Creativity in Sales 14:13 Sales Leadership Challenges 21:12 Resistance to Trying New Sales Techniques 23:05 The Comfort of the Familiar 25:01 The Persistence of Cold Calling 27:55 The Fear of Moving Away from the Familiar 30:31 Surf and Sales: Combining Learning with a Vacation 37:12 Taking Risks and Embracing Failure Market like you mean it. From Mickey Mouse to Mice Media! Do terms like NFT, Blockchain, Web3, freak you out? You're not alone. When you listen to my Podcast conversation with the Founder of Mice Media, Bryn Davis- his intentions to disrupt traditional media with this Community- based platform become extremely clear. Bryn has built first the Web3 Digital Media Network on Blockchain Technology. You'll see how Bryn has revolutionized the way that NFTs work (digital asset for membership) to create a digital army of 'holders' of MICE that shape, build, and have equity stake in the decentralized Digital Media Network. Bryn has an extremely powerful story. Forging business savvy, starting from an internship with Disney... to launching regional (and eventually) a globally -sourced food company...Bryn Davis' path is clearly a road less travelled. Now, Bryn intends to disrupt conversation and reinvent Digital Media. You may not agree with the opinions in this conversation, or with the new Digital Network; but Bryn will clearly provide an opportunity for everyone's voice to be heard.
Matt Taibbi speaks with Eve Eurydice about America's crises, now and past, and how crises upend trust in government as more citizens in different ways are learning the extremely painful lesson that all government is griftopia and we have nowhere to turn politically. We are watching the Breakup Of the American Empire happen as a Game of Musical Chairs played between the mainstream political parties fighting over the silent majority—the working class, the immigrant class, the middle class. ⚡️ We are at a time of reckoning. It's a nervous time in American history. A year from now we may be in a two-front war with two other world powers; a couple of wars that will feel not real because we are not being invaded and we don't live the trauma of war which cultivates pacifism. A Quinnipiac poll just showed that 66% of Americans believe that democracy may be coming to an end. America has scandal-mongering & warmongering instead of Governing—even with a Democratic President supported by the progressive wing. Whether it's the Tea party or AOC, Jan 6th or the FBI raid, the theater of politics & the theater of war keep us distracted. Superstructure is politics elections cultural wars grift. Substructure is the plutocracy (the minority in control of the means of production, the 3,000 people who own 85% of the economy, the 1% that controls 85% of the wealth and runs the country that runs the world). America has a winner takes all economy that keeps wealth in the hands of a tiny minority. The people in the minority may change but not the minority system. Ten years after Occupy Wall Street, the household debt in the US is $15.8 trillion, more than the US deficit even, and that's how are all beholden to this system. The Financialization of the Digital Network, the Monetization of Internet Technology, the growth of Crypto only accelerated the massive transfer of wealth to the few. The FED added $4.6 trillion to its balance sheet during the pandemic, hooking us deeper into the monetary feed. ⚡️Matt was an early critic of the big banks bailout under Obama & Bernanke. ⚡️Noam Chomsky just said that the US is tearing itself apart from within. The public hungers for objectivity as public trust in the media and institutions has been broken in our financialized digital era. What is the future of America? ⚡️ Matt Taibbi is a political author, journalist, podcaster, and a contributing editor for Rolling Stone. EmmaKate Few grew up in a sports family, watching her two older brothers play football and baseball through college. Aiming to combine her love for sports, theater, and public speaking, she decided to pursue a career in sports broadcasting at Southern Methodist University (SMU), majoring in journalism and sport management. EmmaKate made her way into the athletic press department, becoming in-venue host for SMU football and basketball, freelancing for the XFL, interning at CBS 11, working at the AAC basketball tournament… and then, sports were cancelled. Despite graduating at the start of COVID-19, EmmaKate trusted in her passion for the field and put her all into the job search, eventually landing a role at KTAL (NBC 6/ Fox 33) in Shreveport, Louisiana as a Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter. Though just getting started, EmmaKate is already making her mark in the industry, using her platform to cover meaningful stories of athletes on and off the field. In today's episode, I sit down with EmmaKate to better understand this tough but rewarding role in sports. We discuss the steps she took to land critical internships in college, advice for aspiring young broadcasters, a (real) Friday-night-lights in her life, and tips for presenting yourself professionally as a standout young reporter for a male-dominated industry.
