"The mix was recorded in a random house on the Hollywood hills, and the premise was to bring the good vibes into it." Dancers can always be sure of one thing with Moscoman, a certain unpredictability and energy will always define the music he serves up. As well as having a background in indie and rock, he plays house, acid, techno, dark disco, synth, all from a more alternative angle. For that reason, he is a regular at wide-ranging but iconic places like Space in Miami, Panorama Bar, Glastonbury and Pacha Ibiza. Next to all this, Moscoman continues to focus on building his Disco Halal label and brand into a real family. It is a place where artists like Simple Symmetry, Red Axes, Trikk and Auntie Flo have all freely expressed themselves. Like Moscoman's own approach to music, it is an unrestricted label that never fails to subvert and surprise.

This week we're bringing you another amazing mix from our London based friend Joone. He is a DJ, Producer and label owner based in North London. His first solo EP, Infinites Between, was released on his label Acrylic on Canvas, showcasing a diversity of sounds with a truly raw edge coated with underground tones. His tracks ghostshells and 005 appeared on the yearly compilation of Hungary's upcoming underground electronic label Secret Fusion, gaining support across dance floors internationally. On remix duties he took over Berlin artist Kat Koan's single ‘Lustfire', delivering his signature angular sound, incorporating influences from synth wave and break beat. Joone's exit aquarius EP is his next solo material to come out on brazilian label, Living Like Birds, followed by the affair, a hugely successful track which became one of the most heavily played songs during the 2020 tulum season.His most recent work, entitled Mutable Character, is coming out on Toto Chiavetta's Label Borders of Light. This EP has gained an array of support from prominent dj's globally, including: Dixon, Lehar, Musumeci, Denis Hovart, to name a few. Joone does not limit himself to one sound profile, however; his disco side project, under the name ‘Quattrovalvole' has been releasing on labels such as: Disco Halal, Secret Fusion, Oraculo Records and Acrylic on Canvas. Piotr Ho - Warsaw based DJ and promoter active on the scene since 2016. Co-founder of Bunker Events - the crew responsible for the Fort Open Air series of events and number of club events, co-founder of PLENER - summer open air venue. Over the time, he expanded his organizational activities and became a DJ, the effects of which you could hear on many national dance floors and festivals. Organization of events integrating various genres, from downtempo, through house and techno, to psychedelic trance music, confirmed his need for a cross-sectional view on music. It resulted in regular performances at various events, not limited only to techno, where he presents his favorite sounds selection. Superiority of a deep groove over the pace with a rough kick, is a principle he follows to keep the hypnotic atmosphere. So don't be surprised if you hear Carrot Green playing a mix of Acid House and Techno after a set by Marcel Dettman at 7AM or hypnotizing the dance floor with shamanic rhythms at 90 BPM for an audience in trance. This is our sommelier’s review of Budakid’s fantastic Rosé. He drinks it on the rocks, by the way: Kevin Huizing AKA Budakid is a Tilburg (NL) based music producer and dj. As a kid he started as drummer in a drum ensemble, this is where he got his first taste of beats. Having a good sense of rhythm helped him as an aspiring dj and soon he landed his first residency in one of Utrecht’s most popular clubs. As it happens with a lot of dj’s, dj’ing only wasn’t enough. So Budakid sought out to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Influenced by the likes of Joris Voorn, Stimming, Trentemøller and acts such as Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou, the Dutchman developed a very unique melodic style. A typical Budakid song has floating melodies, the right set of chords and some strong, energetic vibes all mashed together. Such as his most recent track “Walkman”, a captivating hymn out on Exploited. Other tracks of Budakid have been released on labels like Einmusika, Last Night On Earth, All Day I Dream, Get Physical and many more. Highly anticipated also are his upcoming releases on Disco Halal and Watergate Records. We are delighted to be able to present an exclusive mix from one of the most intriguing producers and disc jockeys in electronic music at present... Yoshinori Hayashi has established a singular sound following releases on the likes of Smalltown Supersound, Going Good, JINN Records, Gravity Graffiti, Jheri Tracks and Disco Halal. Hayashi has studied under Japanese avant-classical composer Mica Nozawa. When not DJing, he works in a record store in Tokyo. The Japanese producer does well to blend and integrate intriguing elements of ambient, eastern soundscapes alongside an eclectic take on house, techno, krautrock and industrial music. Far reaching and forward thinking, this is the future of electronic music.

Let's start 2018 with a huge celebration for us. Parabox radio show turns 2 years old! We decided to celebrate in multiple ways. Firstly please welcome our brand new redesign. For two years we have practised minimalism and monochrome visual style and our in house designer - Arturas Nauseda, decided that it was not enough anymore to describe the diversity of music and guests that we gather every month. Please welcome our new face. Second - while our studio is equipped for recording the show, we decided to pursue journeys into other countries to gain new experiences. The shows recorded out of our comfort zone will be marked as Out of the Studio, instead of the usual In the Studio. Expect to see more this year. Last, but by far not least is this months guest. While in Vilnius, Lithuania, Opium Club, dubbed by most artists who visited it in the past as being in their personal top 5 in Europe, allowed us to record this birthday episode. Two brothers from Moscow - Sasha and Sergey Lipsky, as usual, will be talking about their musical influences. Releasing their music on Disco Halal, they have already captured hearts of many dancers and continue to spend a lot of time in the studio producing our most favourite anthems. Simple Symmetry are taking over the second hour of our show, following some danceable and un-danceable music in the first hour.

Autarkic - aka Nadav Spiegal- has been on a roll of late.
