I've been looking forward to doing a Hex Hector anthology for a long time but he has such a massive catalogue of remixes, I wasn't sure as to how I would approach it. I decided to split it into two parts. The first part being remixes with BPM's from 126 to 132 and the second part with remixes from 132 and up. That being said, it took me three weeks to select a body of mixes for part one and narrow that down to the final 32 tracks featured on this first edition. From what I've been able to find out, Hex Hector (Hector Ortiz) started producing music back in 1992 in New York. His sound was synonymous throughout the 90's and 2000's where he became famous for remixing songs for artists such as Deborah Cox, Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin and the list goes on. For anyone who was going out to clubs in that era, you would be well aware of his mixes of songs such as "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" by Deborah Cox and "Heartbreak Hotel" by Whitney Houston. Hex's mixes took us on a journey and generally clocked in at 8 minutes plus. Not like the 'extended mixes' of today which barely make it to 3 minutes. He mastered the drop and build in infectious house/club mixes and playing one of his mixes (of which I played many) would guarantee the dance floor being full. Hex worked with a few regular producers such as Dezrok, Soul Solution and Jonathan Peters and he even formed a production duo with Mac Quayle called HQ2. The man is a true legend of the club world and this first edition of the best of Hex Hector features 32 all time classic house and club remixes over 4 hours which are guaranteed to keep you moving with your hands in the air. Welcome to the 20th edition of Mardi Gras Anthems. This edition leans more towards the big room anthem sound with a mixture of new and classic songs. The set kicks of with Adele's "Easy On Me" beautifully remixed by Mor Avrahami and glides into Whitney's "Don't Cry For Me" given a solid club treatment by Leo Frappier. Dario Xavier features two remixes here for Agnes and Kylie Minogue respectively. Joe Gauthreaux turns out two thumping remixes for Kelly Clarkson and Rita Ora respectively and Guena LG gives an awesome remix on the cover of Gloria Estefan's classic "Don't Let This Moment End". I had to include Avril Lavigne's "Head Above Water" as her vocals on this are fantastic and the Tommer Mizrahi remix is an epic club journey. Paul Goodyear delivers a driving remix of Ultra Nate's "Free" and the Cajjmere Wray tribute remix of JLo's "Waiting For Tonight" is outstanding. I gave Miley Cyrus's "Flowers" a run here because it is huge on the charts right now and Dirty Disco delivers an excellent remix of it. Big Kid's remix of "Easy As Life" by Deborah Cox kicks ass and he very generously provided it to me for this set. Lara Fabian and Beyonce` also feature classic songs with updated remixes here. The set closes out with two classic tracks from Jessica Folker and Cindy Mizelle with classic remixes from Jonathan Peters and Ritchie Santana. If you are looking for non stop anthems, this set is an epic end to an epic Mardi Gras in 2023. EnjoyAnthony1/ "EASY ON ME" (Mor Avrahami Remix) - ADELE2/ "DON'T CRY FOR ME" (Brian Kent vs. House Of Frappier Club Mix) - WHITNEY HOUSTON3/ "RELEASE ME" (Dario Xavier 2K23 Club Remix) - AGNES4/ "I DARE YOU" (Joe Gauthreaux & Leanh Remix) - KELLY CLARKSON5/ "FIREWORK" (Toy Armada Remix) - KATY PERRY6/ "HEAD ABOVE WATER" (Tommer Mizrahi Club Remix) - AVRIL LAVIGNE7/ "DON'T LET THIS MOMENT END" (Guena LG Club Remix) - CARLOS GALLARDO ft. This week, John is joined by Jonathan Peters of TCHEM to discuss how to expand a business in the home services industry.
Party Favorz is back with one of our bucket list items that move us from the Ultimate 90s House Classics into the millennium. I took a different approach to this series, which immediately becomes obvious with the title. First, I started with 1999 because it is possibly one of the best years in dance music history. Many of today's biggest hits have reworked samples that have been turned into massive anthems for a new generation of partygoers. Everything from the late Paul Johnson's "Get Get Down," "Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by Modjo," "9 PM (Til I Come)" by ATB to "Around the World (La La La La La) by ATC and "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eifel 65 have been plucked from the dance music annals breathing new life into the originals. Heck, even our lady Bey's smash album "Renaissance" is packed with samples from bygone eras. The other thing you'll notice is that this first set spans 4 years. The millennium was a great time for the evolution of dance music from Progressive House which began in the mid-90s and exploded by the end of the decade, to Trance, Techno, Hard Dance, French House, Filtered House, Funky House, Electro House and music that combined elements of all these genres. Of course, the advancement of technology had a lot to do with the abundance of offerings but it was human ingenuity that pushed the boundaries of what House Music could be. Needless to say, it's difficult to focus on just the hits because there were so many memorable underground hits as well depending on where you lived and the bars you frequented. If you're looking for the big room progressive sounds by Hex Hector, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Thunderpuss, Junior Vasquez, or Jonathan Peters — you're better off revisiting our Top Dance Songs of the Year series, which starts in 1996 but it's 1999 and beyond you're after. Frankly, 1999 needs to be expanded but I haven't gotten around to it. Equally, five out of the six DJs mentioned have their own Legacy series linked in this article. Depending on what decisions are made with the future of Party Favorz next year — I may go back and do a series with just the big room progressive house anthems featuring these DJs and others. That could be a lot of fun. However, for this series — they were not included. I wasn't sure how this would turn out but this and the upcoming volume 2 have been on repeat in my car for several weeks now as I worked out the final track selections and I'm pleasantly surprised. There is a good deal of House Music styles here with some more Progressive House as it got redefined along with some long-lost gems that even I had completely forgotten about. These sets are long but what's nice is that you'll be surprised with each turn within the set. For the House purest, I had long ago created the purer Millennial House Music Classics series. I'll likely wrap up this series with two sets of 2003 - 2006 and 2007 - 2010 sometime in January. For now, I invite everyone to take a journey with me to a not-so-distant past. It may make you feel old but honestly, if this is your scene — you were part of the cool kids. For our young listeners and aspiring DJs — there's a lot of inspiration contained within these sets. Frankly, you could drop most of these songs in any modern set and nobody would be any wiser. That's how good they are. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album: Millennial Dance Classics [1999 - 2002] Vol. 1 Genre: House Music, Progressive House, Funky House Year: 2022 Total Time: 04:09:53 1. Bob Sinclar - I Feel For You (Morillo Re-Edit) 2. The original set was updated so that the Josh Harris remix of 'Proud' by Heather Small was switched out for the original remix by Illicit and the transition from 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge was pushed out by 15 seconds for a smoother transition. We have finally reached the end of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics series and this fifth volume does not disappoint. I cannot begin to describe how difficult it is compiling and mixing this massive series. The decision process alone determining which songs make the cut and those that get left behind is a painful process. So, if there's anything you feel is missing — it'll likely make an appearance on the forthcoming Essential Gay Anthems For A New Generation set(s) I have planned for next week. I've been syphoning new remixes for songs that will be included and placing them into their own special folder and will collect our favorites since the original series began and compile everything into possibly two massive sets. For this final set, which represents a very specific time period between the 90's and say the first 15 years of the millennium with updated classics from those periods as welll as the 80's — I want to recognize the DJs that have not only filled our lives with so much joy but enriched them with their mastery and midas touch when it comes to reworking other artists. Over the course of this 5-set journey, the bulk of the biggest names have already been reconized in our Legacy series, which honors the work of not only the living but the deceased members of this elite community. It's no wonder that Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Ralphi Rosario, Tony Moran, Freemasons, Almighty, 7th Heaven, DJ Barry Harris, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Toy Armada & DJ Grind, Wayne G and Jonathan Peters make up the bulk of what's presented here. No other DJs have contributed so much to our happiness and for that — we are most grateful for the joy they've brought to our lives. Keep in mind that while this series is a pretty fucking big deal and massive in scope and size — in no way does it discount or relegates artists, DJs and allies to the LGBTQ+ community not mentioned or represented in this series any less worthy. We worship them all and if I've left someone out — please accept my deepest apologies. I'll be back next week. Until then...ENJOY! Party Favorz began down the path of the Utimate 90's House Classics on October 10, 2020. One year later, we've finally reached the end of this historical series and what a journey it's been. Volume 6 wraps up the remaining massive progressive club hits with a few leftover Classic House tracks from that period. There's virtually nothing in this final set you won't recognize (even if you don't remember the title). The one exception is the Hex Hector remix of Tina Turner's "When the Heartache Is Over," which was widely rumored at the time but never materialized (at least not to the best of my knowledge). The preferred remix at the time was the Metro Mix. The Hex Hector remix never came across my radar until I started working on the Tina Turner Diva Hall of Fame series earlier this year. It appears that remix may have only been serviced to DJs and being form smalltown America where I drove to San Antonio 4 hours to the north every other month to pick up the latest releases, my only other option was DJ008 website. If anyone remembers that site, it was the precursor to Napster, WinMX and other file sharing services as well as another famous dance music file sharing website who's name escapes me at the moment. Granted, we were on dial-up and downloads could take hours for a single song so you had to be selective and certain about what you wanted or you end wasting countless hours tying up your phone line on just one track. Hence, the trek to San Antonio for the latest club tunes made sense. Besides, I'd make a weekend of it and party at the Bonham Exchange. To make a long story short, I included that elusive version here (though it's not his best work) for those that might be interested. Otherwise, everything included in this series stays true to the time period of the classic song's release. I've already created the artwork, compiled the tracks for the annual Fall Edition and started the mixing process and I'm stoked to be working on current remixes. It will definitely be finished later today giving me enough time to preview it with the exception of two promos not set to drop until next Friday. I have alternate remixes for the tracks if these don't come through on time. Otherwise, I'm set. Expect that set to drop next Saturday. Until then...ENJOY! After a multitude of successful girl groups throughout the nineties — it was time for the boys to give it a go. While TLC was on the tailend of their fame with their explosive release 'FanMail' — the girls were in disaray with constant infighting which ultimately caused them to collapse. Enter stage left, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and 98°. Even though most dance music wasn't being aired at radio (with a few notable exeptions i.e. Cher), the major labels were adept at crosspromoting their artists from radio to the dancefloor. This is where Hex Hector, Davidson Ospina, Soul Solution, Thunderpuss, Pablo Flores and Jonathan Peters come in. These DJs were already having great success in the clubs and easily took their winning formula and applied it to pop hits. Because this period is such a magical time for me, this final series covers a lot of ground from these two years and may even be a tad indulgent. Nevertheless, there was no stone left unturned in creating this final farewell to the nineties. It wasn't my intent to drag this on but unfortunately, there have been a series of diversions this past week that have kept me from knocking this series out. I'm only now getting back into the groove of things so all I ask is for a little patience. Once this series is finished, Party Favorz will be launching back into our regular scheduled releases in October. The Legacy release I had planned will be pushed into November. I should have at least one more release for the weekend followed by the rest next week. Until the next time...ENJOY! Party Favorz started the Ultimate 90's House Classic series in the fall of 2020. The overwhelming response to this series has been tremendous — certainly bigger than I thought it would be. A year later, we're now reaching the end of the decade and have pulled out all the stops for what is certainly considered the golden age of House Music. As we noted in earlier editions, the musical landscape began changing in the second half of the decade. After bubbling in the underground for several years before moving into the mainstream, Trance music took on a life of its own. While those tracks are not featured in this series (they'll get their own ultimate classics series soon enough) — Progressive House was the alternate powerhouse genre in the movement fueled by Hex Hector, Victor Calderone, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters, Peter Rauhofer (a.k.a. Club 69), Danny Tenaglia, Rosabel, Razor N Guido, Pablo Flores, Junior Vasquez and Johnny Vicioius who blurred the lines between Progressive House and Trance. Probably one of the biggest unsung heroes from this time period is Soul Solution who consisted of Bobby Guy and Ernie Lake. These guys were the go to for many commercial remixes and there's a story there that I can't seem to dig up so I'll just go by what I remember. Don't hold this as gospel because I'm only going by what I remembered. Maybe someone else can shed more light on this story. Soul Solution was their brand but if I remember correctly, the trademark was owned by a major label. When they attempted to leave the label, they weren't allowed to take the name with them. Since their brand was built under this name, it was near impossible to market themselves independently. Though, Ralphi Rosario from Rosabel managed to break out on his own as did Chris Cox from Thunderpuss and Guido Osorio from Razor N Guido but Bobby Guy and Ernie Lake were not household names. It's likely why Hex Hector (who had worked with the guys on the breakthrough remix of Toni Braxton's "Un-break My Heart" in 1996) picked up the slack in the coming years even though he was already in high demand. You'll likely remember a lot of their remixes but less so who remixed them. Party Favorz is here to set the record straight as much of their work will be featured over the next several sets. The major change in club music was no accident but something that was in the making for the better half of the decade and is fondly remembered by club kids (including myself) with 1999 through maybe 2001 being the best the genre servered up. As musical tastes changed, Progressive House eventually gave way to Electro House — another genre that came up through the underground. From some of the more obscure tracks, the biggest club hits including that whole short-lived Ibiza sound — TU90HC has got you covered. I had a lot of fun creating this first set and was taken back by Monifah's "Touch Me," which I had completely forgotten about. There will be a lot of these gems over these remaining sets that are gonna jog your memory and put a smile on your face. Until the next time...ENJOY! On July 12, 2018... I released the first ever episode of Philosophy 101… 3 years later.. here we are… Philosophy family.. can you believe it?! I have 3 things to say to all of you; THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! & THANK YOU!!! There are not enough words to express the copious amounts of gratitude that I have for every single person who has supported from the start... From the team who has helped me transform Philosophy 101 into what it is today.. to anyone who has listened to every episode or just one episode.. and most importantly; the universal gratitude that I have for EVERY.. SINGLE.. House-Head that I've ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with, or just simply having shared a dance floor with you over my 29 years of existence… Seriously if you were to tell me 3 years ago, that not only will this podcast be listened to on every continent, throughout 75 different countries, & will have generated over 10K listens... Swear on my moms I would have told you; “Pass me whatever it is that you're smoking on because that sounds like some real fire shit & I want some”… And thennn... if you were to tell me that 6 months into releasing this podcast series, I would then be presented the opportunity to transform Philosophy 101 into an event series. That would not only take over some of Las Vegas' biggest nightclubs, but would enable me to headline open-close sets playing all different kinds of underground noises… And thennnnnn.. that would help to facilitate bringing Philosophy 101 back to my hometown of NYC, & most recently assist in being booked to be the headlining artist for a promenade record label's first 2021 label showcase in Los Angeles representing the Philosophy|CLV moniker... All the whilst, morphing Philosophy 101 into a DJ Collective consisting of likeminded individuals; some of whom I've known for over a decade... But were chosen not based off of how great their DJ skills are, or how well known they are, or where they have played, or how many people they can put through the door... But rather on the purest fact of; real recognize real… This music is who I am… This music has been shaping my life ever since I bought my first underground house 12” vinyl nearly 16 years ago… DJ Pierre aka The Godfather of acid house himself, once said; "Anything that starts off underground is house.. I don't care how big it gets.. if it started out underground.. then it's house!" House isn't just a type of music..it's a way of life..it's a culture..it's an ideology..and for those of us who started chasing this rabbit a long long time ago..we haven't left the rabbit hole since... This is the first Philosophy episode that I can truly say I left a piece of my soul inside of forever. Not only is this mix completely different than how I normally play... It is a beautiful, only can happen in the moment, on the fly, type of journey that explores my 3 favorite era's/decades of house... We starting off with what's closest to my heart.. the 2005-2010 golden era of NYC's tribal that I spent countless hours inside the walls of Pacha NYC, Cielo, & Asseteria listening too… Then rewinding back into the late 90s-early 2000's with that real Sound Factory era type sounds of Johnny Vicious, Jonathan Peters, Robbie Tronco, Sal Parm aka Plasmic Honey, & so on… And finally to round it out by ending off with what started it all; disco classics, original house classics/remixes/edits/reworks, & of course timeless vocals laid over a beautiful 4x4 beat... I hope you enjoy this 3 hour pilgrimage through the sounds of house as much as I did… I love you all... -Nick

Earlier in the decade, Freestyle, Breakbeat, Trip Hop, Hip Hop and Eurodance were all offshoots of House music that went on to be fused together or evolved into their own distinct categories. More notably, the second half of the nineties witnessed a sea change in House music. While Classic House continued to be a staple on dance floors — the sound became more progressive, electronic and tribal as club culture began looking for something fresh and new. Enter Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer), Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Tony Moran, Hex Hector, Jonathan Peters, Soul Solution, Rosabel (Ralphi Rosario), Razor N' Guido, Vission & Lorimer and a host of others. The one consistent in this area was Junior Vasquez who easily switched between edgy commercial House and the big tribal beats that would eventually claim the dance floor. In fact, it took the Soul Hex remix (Soul Solution + Hex Hector) of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart" for the labels to take notice after it exploded all over the dance floor. For the sake of this series — the excellent Frankie Knuckles version was included on volume one of this series. That being said, this new style of music steadily became more dominant that it begins to take over this four volume series and explodes by 1998 - 1999. Other notable mentions in this period are Full Intention, StoneBridge and Love To Infinity who developed a tougher house sound that was commercially appealing and Armand Van Helden with his signature garage house style that sometimes veered into other worlds. The other offshoot that exploded was Trance. Trance had been bubbling in the underground with rave parties that were popular in the UK in the early nineties and eventually found their way over to the US. That's an entirely separate category and will be prominently featured in its own tribute later this year. Just know that many of the big names in Trance started out as house DJs. Rollo & Sister Bliss, Perfecto, Sash! and BT were all making house music prior to jumping over to this genre where they found massive success. After finishing volume two — I've decided to re-visit some of the earlier Legacy entries like Frankie Knuckles, Peter Rauhofer, Thunderpuss and Hex Hector. The original sets feel incomplete and can certainly be improved upon. I'd also like to incorporate more Club 69 remixes into Peter's tribute set since the moniker was key to his overall success. Those are being considered for a much future date as I got a lot on my plate at the moment. In the interim, soak in this heavenly slice of House music history and be sure to turn it the fuck UP! I should have volume three out on Saturday or Sunday and the final fourth volume for this period sometime next week. Until then...ENJOY! The world of work is changing rapidly, yet dress shoes have barely changed since the 1800s. Through material innovation and a unique vertical supply chain, Amberjack is creating a new type of men's dress shoe. After years working with big companies like Cole Haan, Allen Edmonds, and Adidas, the founder Jonathan Peters got frustrated by how bleak the landscape of dress shoes had become. Work is changing, technology is advancing, yet dress shoes are stuck in the past. The brand wanted to create something new by avoiding the complicated supply chains full of shortcuts and compromises, and partnered with one of the best tanneries in the world. They've created entirely new materials for soles that are extra comfortable, and put leather and science fiction into the hands of craftsmen in Portugal. They also use 100% plastic-free packaging and promise their shoes will last a lot longer than the fast-fashion, disposable dress shoes they share a price-point with. In this episode of the MenswearStyle Podcast we interview Jonathan Peters, Founder of Amberjack about his career to date, and the unique concept of this new brand operating within the dress shoe category. The idea came after the realisation of feeling unconnected with his shoes whilst working within the corporate world. He felt he could bring the same excitement many guys feel with clothing brands to the footwear world. Our host Peter Brooker and Jonathan also chat about early prototypes, how to make shoes built for comfort, how the brand is adopting sustainability, and how to get a 10,000+ waitlist for a debut shoe.Whilst we have your attention, be sure to sign up to our daily newsletter here. Today I’d like to introduce you to this book called Deliberate Fun by Dr. Jonathan Peters. Interestingly, Deliberate Fun carries great content to help business owners understand the motivations behind different types of people. When we design for everyone, we end up designing for ourselves. — Jonathan Peters, PHD, Deliberate Fun, 2020 To produce successful gamification campaigns, or digital products altogether, Jonathan Peters emphasizes to ask yourself two questions. Who is your target audience? What are their motivations? We are not the customer We must first acknowledge that we are not our users. In order to go into a world of exploration about people’s behavior patterns, we must empty our minds when we enter our problem space. …

What have you done today to make you feel proud ?
What have you done today to make you feel proud ?
I remember when I fell in love with Trance. It was in the early turning of the millennium in February of 2001 in the middle of the brutal New England cold when I got picked up from work by a friend. He was listening to some amazing music, it was fresh, atmospheric, chill, beautiful with warm vocals. I couldn’t resist asking who that was. He handed me the double CD, ATB Two Worlds. That was the moment my heart opened to feel something through music I never felt before. It spoke a new language I never heard before. I knew electronic dance music through the lens of Eurodance, but this was something else, it was different, it was magic, it was running waters to my soul and warmth to my spirit. I knew at that moment that the dream I captured of being DJ years prior, and eventually try to make some music like that was confirmed. The next day I walked into my local music store and bought the most magical piece of music I’ve ever experienced. The journey began. After Two Worlds I bought anything and everything I can find that was in the same category or similar until I came across Nyana in the summer of 2003. It sealed the deal for me with another magic moment. I was graduating High School that same year, so it meant that I would have a lot of time in my hands. Indeed I had, and during that time I bought two cheat turntables and a cheap mixer, some vinyl and started the lessons by teaching myself the art of mixing two or more great tracks together and figuring out my taste. During that search, I came across a mix album titled Last Dance. It was 3 discs pack including two mixed CDs by Jonathan Peters with a bonus DVD recorded inside Sound Factory in New York City. At that time, Sound Factory was the hottest club in NYC. That opened up my mind to the New York underground scene. A scene I wanted to be part of it. I never made it there, but I always enjoyed the New York sound. As the journey progressed I started to feel comfortable behind the desk in my bedroom. I had a friend, perhaps my biggest supporter, that was always with me. He loved Trance as much as I did. He supported me when I messed up, as well as when I did well. When I got my first beat match, he was the first one I called. It as around 3AM one night, he drove to my place, and we listened to the whole 3 hours set I recorded just so he can hear my progress. He believed in me sincerely. Sometimes all you need in life is one of those friends that truly believe in you. In 2005 I launched a weekly podcast featuring 2 hours of some of the best trance and progressive music I could find. Two years later, I joined an internet radio and held a weekly radio show that ended up being broadcast all around the world. Internet radio was in its infancy back then, so everyone was trying to figure out how to make it work. DI.FM was the biggest and still is to this day. Looking back now, I’m so proud I was involved in that early stage. In the summer of 2008, I was celebrating the 100th episode of my radio show and I wanted to do something special. The first classics edition was born. In the radio show I was limited to a two-hour window because, of course, other shows needed to be broadcast. But I wanted to do an extended episode. I wanted to include every track from all of those years of discovery into one very long episode. To honor my radio show, I recorded a shorter, 2-hour Classics Episode, and then a 7-hour episode exclusive to my podcast subscribers. And that is the show you will listen to. When I was thinking about the Classics Edition for 2019, I wanted to do something big and special as well. It’s the end of a decade, and the start of a new one and I wanted to go back to my roots. So I was listening to that 100th Episode from 2008, and said, “this is it. I’m going to publish this show”. For the last two months, I have been working on this episode, rearranging the tracks a bit, cutting some from the original show, and adding others that brings even more meaning. To make it even more special, I stretched out to the maximum, 8 hours of deeply rooted music that made a huge impact in my earlier years. I even included one track from the Last Dance album, one of my favorites. In closing, I just want to say that, this is not a tribute to the so-called “Golden Age Of Trance”. It is more like a personal diary I want to keep because these tracks have so much meaning in my life. Even though today I play a very different type of music, I believe my taste matured to another level. I enjoy listening to music that brings meaning and takes me into an emotional journey and lately I find them in the slower BPM. I don’t believe there ever was a Golden Age, it was just music. At that time for me was Trance, today, the genre progressed forward so as I progressed forward involving and developing my taste to these beautiful sounds. Music is music and it speaks to us all in different ways and leaves its mark in our story. These tracks represent the mark that those sounds from the 2000s left in me. I hope you enjoy this extended Classics Edition. Happy Holiday and may we all have an amazing new decade exploring and creating even moments like this. If you've attended any circuit even in the last 10 years, you've undoubtedly danced to the euphoric sounds of Toy Armada and DJ Grind. During the late 90's and early millennium, DJs became household names in the likes of Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, and Jonathan Peters. With their signature big room sound filled with tribal beats and uplifting and joyful anthems, Toy Armada and DJ Grind has taken over the mantle once held by Thunderpuss (a.k.a. Barry Harris and Chris Cox) as the go-to producers for many of the top pop and dance artists. The two had met after DJ Grind sent an email to Toy suggesting they work together on a remix for the Kimberly Locke tune called "Feel the Love" (featured in this set). That track went to #1 in the UK which solidified a partnership that has proven to be successful beyond anything they probably could have imagined. Over the course of two volumes, Party Favorz explores the musical journey these guys have taken for 10 years and counting. Since Toy Armada had already established himself prior to working with DJ Grind and continues to put out his own releases, I've included many of his remixes as well which compliment their overall style. It's with much love and respect for the work these guys do in fulfilling our lives with joy and happiness that uplifts our spirits on the dancefloor that I add them to our Legacy series for their amazing contributions to dance music for the masses. I'll be back with volume two on Wednesday. Until then...ENJOY! Album: Toy Armada & DJ Grind | PRIDE Legacy Edition vol. 1 Genre: Circuit, Tribal, House Year: 2019 Total Time: 02:45:26 1. Sorry, I'm late posting this morning, but I was up late and slept in. Party Favorz is delivering volume 2 of Hi-NRG Gay Anthems where I step up the beats and deliver the fun! Obviously, I've taken some liberty in the track selection like the Diana Ross "Touch Me In the Morning" was re-worked in the early millennium but was originally re-recorded in 1985 by Lydia Steinman. "Your Song" by Elton John (which closes this set out) was never re-recorded (to my knowledge) but re-done by Almighty with Elton re-singing the vocals in the early millennium as well. Same goes with Olivia Newton-John's "I Honestly Love You." Regardless, these tracks fit in nicely with the overall theme and feel of these sets as if they were true to the time period. The intro to this set was the hardest thing I've encountered so far. Using the original version of Divine's "Shoot Your Shot" and mashing with Male 2 Male's "Male Stripper" wasn't working so I had to drop it into another software to get it to pan out. If beats seem slightly off, it's because of the original mixes, are not up to par with today's technology at the time. Regardless, I thought it came out really well. In the first post, one of our followers Ivan mentioned that the 90's was his cup of tea. While half of these sets contain 90's classics, they are the originals re-worked with a modern-day sensibility. That being said, I want to let him and everyone know that if you are a recent convert to Party Favorz, there is so much under the hood, you'll be surprised at what you find if you dig a little deeper. With the latest re-design of the site, I've taken great pains to make navigating as easy as possible. For instance, the 1990's dance music scene was vast. While House Music was the predominant staple, there are a variety of genres and subgenres that were popular in that time period. If you hover on the primary category "Dance Classics" from a PC or laptop, you'll find subcategories that narrow your search down. Trash Disco (70's and 80's), 80's Dance, 90's House Classics, 00's House Classics, Eurodance and Trance (both from the 90's). If that's still not what you're looking for, try hovering on "Year In Dance" which goes back to 1996. The dropdown there lists each year so you can focus specifically on where your interests lie. In I'van's case, I'd suggest starting with 1999, which has been the best received and was the year of some of the greatest circuit classics by Thunderpuss, Hex Hector, Peter Rauhofer, Jonathan Peters, etc. for that kind of music. 1998-1996 need to be updated since my tiny brain cannot remember everything in one sitting — I may get around to those at a later date but they are there for posterity's sake. You can navigate the site the same way on mobile and tablet by clicking on the accordion in the upper-righthand corner. There, a dropdown of all the categories will appear and an arrow will appear to the right of each one that has sub-categories that can also be easily scrolled. I guess my point is, try digging just a bit and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you find as I've pretty much left no stone unturned when it comes to Dance Classics. I want to thank Ignacio and Raul for their generous donations. They are always appreciated. I'm guessing there are about two more of these sets, which I'll post later this next week. That should be followed by a couple of Diva Hall of Fame re-entries that need to be refreshed before getting back into new Dance-Club, Circuit Tribal House, Funky House, and Underground House sets later this month. Until then...ENJOY! Album: Hi-NRG Gay Anthems volume 2 Genre: Hi-NRG, Dance, Gay Anthems Year: 2019 Total Time: 01:56:03 1. Divine - Shoot Your Shot (XL Ultratraxx Maxi Mix) 2. The song in question is a remake of the Eartha Kitt cum Madonna classic "Santa Baby" by Dirty Disco featuring the always fabulous Jeanie Tracy. There are two mixes of this song. One is the more circuit-friendly Private Mix and the other is the more disco-infused Mainstream Mix (which may be making an appearance elsewhere on this site relatively soon). More on that later. Folks, this set is BIG and I when I say big, I mean HUGE or better yet EPIC! In fact, this is quite possibly the best set of circuit tracks to come out simultaneously in like forever. I kick things off with the Offer Nissim remix of the Trash Mermaids' "Cryptic Love." I know absolutely nothing about this group, this track or anything about this song other than I absolutely love it! I equally adore the Dave Aude remix featured on the recent EDM/Dance set Jingle Electric pt. 1. There's just something about the obscurity and misunderstood meaning of this song coupled with catchy riffs that just does it for me. This is followed-up by quite possibly the best remix Spin Sista has laid-down, EVER. I don't know what it is about F&TM and Ranny but the two are like a glorious match made in circuit heaven. Keeping within the realm of larger than life tunes, Barry Harris pulls out all stops on Imagine Dragons "Thunder." While the catchy tune stands on its own, Barry throws in a magical Thunderpuss build-up that really gets the adrenalin building before dropping into a drummed-up slap-beat of the original and then builds it up again, finally taking us out. The fact is, Barry Harris is all over this mix. His output has been staggering with damn-near perfect consistency. He appears to have found that balance in remixing that play well to a circuit, EDM and even the t-dance crowd. How has Breitbart used memes to build a huge audience on Facebook? Should journalists' notion of objectivity change in the face of immoral or un-American acts? What aspects of press freedom may change under the Trump Administration? We discuss that and more this week on The Kicker, where CJR's David Uberti is joined by Nausicaa Renner and Pete Vernon. Special guest Jonathan Peters, a media law professor and correspondent for CJR's United States Project, gives us the scoop on press freedom under Trump.

So, with a heavy heart but determined focus, we set out to remaster and reimagine a dance tribute mix that would do justice to his extensive repertoire and undeniable influence on music and pop culture. Starting from scratch, we meticulously remastered each song, whether it was slated for inclusion or not, dedicating two full days to this labor of love. The end result? A tribute that can only be described as 'Flawless.' Back in 2010, the original tribute had an extra dose of compression, primarily due to the track 'As,' George Michael's duet with Mary J. Blige. Thanks to Jonathan Peters' mastering techniques, the song could practically blow a hole in the ceiling. It set the tone for the whole mix back then, especially when earbuds were not as advanced as they are today. But times have changed, and so have audio capabilities. That gave us the freedom to achieve a balanced and more nuanced sound. Let's talk about some gems in the tribute. Take "I Want Your Sex 2010 (Freemasons Club Mix)," for instance. The Freemasons bring a modern electro flair to this '80s classic, delivering a robust bassline that's impossible to ignore. And then there's the "Fast Love (2002 Illicit Remix)." With this version, the Illicit team reinvents George Michael's hit by infusing fresh beats and rhythms, making it perfect for today's dance floors. Don't overlook the "Outside (Hex Hector 12'' Vox Up Mix)," a song with a history. After his public outing following an arrest, George Michael embraced his identity and turned the incident into this empowering track. Hex Hector's remix elevates it to new heights, making it a dance floor anthem for the ages. Wham! classics like "I'm Your Man (Division 4 Club Mix)" and "Everything She Wants (Todd Terry Mix)" also find their rightful place in the mix. They're not just nostalgic trips; these remixes celebrate George Michael's beginnings while anchoring them firmly in contemporary dance music. In closing, we hope this tribute captures not just the breadth of George Michael's musical prowess, but also the depth of his influence and the complexity of his legacy. RIP George. You will be sorely missed. [1963 - 2016]. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album George Michael Tribute pt. 2 Genre: House Year: 2016 Total Time: 1:57:53.00 1. Star People '97 (Forthright Club Mix) 2. I had originally planned to update George's original induction into the Diva Hall of Fame from 2010 this next year. Under the circumstances, I changed those plans and undertook the project the day after Christmas. I couldn't allow the original mix be the final word. I spent an entire day remastering each song one by one, regardless of whether I would use it or not. I spent the next day throwing everything together in one tight set. I listened to the whole thing last night and woke up this morning and realized I needed to edit myself. I removed several songs and am thrilled to announce that it is absolutely 'Flawless'. The original was a bit over-compressed which stemmed from the lead version of 'As' his duet with Mary J. Blige. Typical of most things Jonathan Peters does, his work was always explosive and mastered in a way that would blow a hole in the ceiling. I had re-worked all the songs to fit in with that one. At the time, earbuds were pretty much shit so the extra bass was necessary; Nowadays, not so much. I hope everyone appreciates what I managed to pull together in honor of the man and his legacy. It’s been 50 years since the federal Freedom of Information Act was signed into law. A lot’s happened since then – not all of it good for the press. We’re calling this bonus episode "The State of the FOIA" because, over the next 30 minutes, we’ll be talking to three experts to figure out what our open records law looks like today and where we go from here. Media law scholar Jonathan Peters will provide some context on changes to the law, and reporters Philip Eil and Jason Leopold will help prepare us for our next FOIA battle by sharing stories of their hard-fought cases. Updated version includes "Enough Is Enough (Offer Nissim Total Meltdown Mix)" by Donna Summer & Barbara Streisand. We're back with the 2nd installment of the 2016 Holiday Edition more tribalicious treats to kick those holiday blues to the curb. Britney is back with her latest "Slumber Party" (think pillow fights and hair braiding but on an adult level) with Brazil's Felipe Angel doing the remix honors. He drops in again with his take on Sia's "The Greatest". Ricky Rebel teases with Boys & Sometimes Girls, while DJ VMC (another Brazilian DJ on the rise) re-energizes Shannon's early 80's dancefloor classic "Let the Music Play". Houston's Dirty Disco score two really huge winners with their mega-remix of the Jessica Folker classic "To Be Able to Love" by George Figares & DJ Blacklow featuring Brenda Reed which would make Jonathan Peters proud and really gets sleazy on Tyler Glenn's confessional single "Shameless". These two songs represent two factions of the gay community and couldn't possibly have anymore contrast in style and substance than say Kim Kardashian and Lena Dunham. Dirty Disco taps into the core of these floor-scorchers and delivers their productions like two heaping slabs of hedonistic lust on a gold platter. Barry Harris takes Dua Lipa's massive "Blow Your Mind" and pairs it with Twenty One Pilots "Heathens" creating a fun bouncy mashup bound to make your head spin. Perhaps the biggest surprise resurgence of the year goes to Air Supply. The early 80's guilty pleasure duo who supplied the Top 40 with one adult contemporary sappy love song after another jumps back into the spotlight. With re-recorded vocals, "All Out of Love" has new life breathed into it for the dancefloor and is currently (once again) riding high on the charts. Joe Gauthreaux & Leanh turn the drama-laden milker into a giant circuit tear-jerker. We finally close this set out with the re-affirming former number one, "Say Yes" by the amazingly talented Jason Walker. True to style, Moto Blanco captures the essences of the original allowing Jason's glorious vocals to soar above the production. Party Favorz is in the final stretch of 2016 as we work hard to deliver the Year's Best in Dance. We still got a lot heading your way so make sure you stay tuned and as always ...ENJOY! WHY We Play – Part 2 People don't fit nicely into categories, and we're in the people business. So, what if we looked at things differently? Once we know why people do things, we can anticipate what they enjoy doing and what they consider fun. Once we know that, we can add game elements, mechanics, and dynamics that they'll actually enjoy, that will cause them to want to play. Today's episode is Part 1 of an outtake from a recent webinar that Sententia hosted with Jonathan Peters, PhD entitled Why We Play. You'll hear Jonathan explain the 16 WHYS that we use at Sententia. For many people, the 16 WHYS feels, looks, sounds like something they've gone through before. But it's actually quite different. Jonathan tells us why it's different, and also introduces you to the 14 WHYS that relate directly to gamification and how and what each of us defines as FUN. After all, wouldn't it be better if people wanted to engage in your programs rather than being prodded and pushed? If you'd like a copy of the whitepaper that Jonathan references in the program, simply email me guru@sententiagames.com and ask for The 16 Whys Whitepaper. Today, enjoy Part 2 of this program. If you missed Part 1, look back in the archives and be sure to listen. I look forward to your comments and questions. Oh no, say it ain't so! Yup, we have finally arrived at the final set paying tribute to the genius that is Hex Hector. To be honest, Hector didn't create all of these mixes himself. He has partnered with several folks for the final product throughout this eight set series. Dezrok, Soul Solution and even Jonathan Peters helped him flesh out a lot of these songs. Perhaps there is no more deserving of recognition in his partnerships than Mac Quayle. Mac Quayle is a Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, who has written and produced for many of the DIVAS included in this series. Today, he produces scores for a multitude of TV shows and movies. His partnership with Hex Hector on many of the productions they put out is equally as important to shaping the sound of the finished product as the lead man himself. I just want to ensure that Mac gets the credit he deserves, because without him on board, many of these remixes may have never occurred much-less been as stellar as they are. Mac, we salute you! Much like volume 7, this set includes many number one Billboard Club/Dance hits but are still considered to be lesser than many of the iconic ones spread out over this series. That is until you get to the final two. Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You and Celine Dion's I Drove All Night was about as massive and iconic as they get. So for those of you who questioned as to why these weren't included ...HERE THEY ARE! I've got a very special Diva Series going up tomorrow, which kicks off the pre-Madonna birthday month celebrations. More news on that this Saturday. Until then ...ENJOY! Starting with humble beginnings, the New York-based DJ and remixer rose to prominence by shaping the contours of the dance music scene for more than a decade. One of the most pivotal moments of his illustrious career was an early rejection that became a blessing in disguise. Picture this: a young Hex Hector presents a remix of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart" to music mogul Clive Davis, only to be met with skepticism. Clive suggests he work with Soul Solution instead. Unbeknownst to Hex at the time, this move would propel the remix into a massive gay anthem, setting the tone for a new era of progressive and tribal house music. Fast forward two years later, and Davis approached Hector to work his magic on Deborah Cox's lead single off her sophomore album "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here." This turned out to be a pivotal moment that further solidified Hex Hector's standing in the realm of elite production remix DJs. Although he didn't receive top billing—his name was subtly tucked away in the liner credits—the impact of his work was anything but footnote material. The remix was a smash hit, serving as a testament to Hector's prowess in reimagining songs in a way that captured the audience's imagination while filling dance floors across the globe. The monumental success of "Un-Break My Heart" and "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" coincided with a new generation of DJs that were taking dance floors to new heights providing fresh new sounds never heard before. Club 69's Peter Rauhofer, Victor Calderone, Thunderpuss, Junior Vasquez, and Jonathan Peters followed in Hex Hector's footsteps, incorporating a fresh, new progressive big room style into their remixes. Now, let's delve into the Tribute to Hex Hector we've all been buzzing about. We scoured the expansive catalog of Hex's creations, paying meticulous attention to your favorite mixes while curating the ultimate dance experience. Contrary to Jason's belief (sorry, buddy), the absence of certain tracks doesn't detract from the overall quality of the setlist. While Hex's Wikipedia page does provide an exhaustive list, its reliability can sometimes be sketchy. If you want to verify the legitimacy of a particular remix, Discogs is your go-to resource. Rather than truncate these gems, I let most of the tracks breathe, running their full course with only minor edits to their intros and outros. For fans of the divas like Deborah Cox, Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston, some of my mixshow edits can also be found in their respective Diva Series collections.
So I get up early this morning as normal and head on over to pay a visit to Ian, the Starbucks hottie that works the drive-thru. Considering we are deep into summer, the morning was unusually crisp and cool as if it were early fall. Mind you I'm not complaining, but I did think it was a bit odd. I digress. Capping off the Epic Circuit Anthems series, the aptly titled Strict Machine serves up more big room drama that heated up dance floors from years past. If there were one song that was eponymous to epic, that would definitely be Paula Cole's “I Believe in Love.” Clocking in at 14 minutes, this one song pretty much had it all; soaring diva vocals, massive heart-pounding beats that slowly build into the ultimate orgasm, and DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA. To this day, I've never been able to find the perfect copy of this song and am convinced the over-compression used by Jonathan Peters was intentional. I went back and tried to temper the song the best I could, but you will notice a little rumbling when it hits a couple of peaks within the song. Regardless, the overall quality is very good. The other massive title included here is Kim English's “Unspeakable Joy.” We owe a great deal of gratitude for Razor ‘n' Guido's big room production of this uplifting anthem. This song had more drops than a twenty-dollar trick on a good night. In retrospect, it may have been slightly over the top, so I went back and tightened up the mix. By cutting out some of the unnecessary drops, it makes those that remain more eagerly anticipated as opposed to just something you expect every minute or so over the course of the song. In a few months, I'll go back and gauge the response to these sets and pour through the numbers. If they're good, I'll be sending more of these up at a later date. If not, then enjoy the last of them. I'm off all day so I'll be digging right back into the summer EDM set(s) I'm hoping to put next week. Within this set, the Jonathan Peters remix of Paula Cole's "I Believe in Love" stands tall as the epitome of epicness. Clocking in at 14 minutes, this track boasts soaring diva vocals, heart-pounding beats, and dramatic moments that will leave you breathless. Although finding the perfect copy proved challenging, we've carefully tempered the song, ensuring a quality listening experience. Another monumental track included is Kim English's "Unspeakable Joy," thanks to Razor 'n' Guido's masterful production. With tightened mix precision, we've enhanced the song's uplifting essence by eliminating unnecessary drops. Each remaining drop becomes a highly anticipated moment, adding to the thrill of the anthem. In the coming months, we'll assess the response and delve into the numbers. If the feedback is positive, expect more sets in the future. For now, savor these iconic gay circuit anthem classics as we prepare for the upcoming summer EDM sets. Happy 4th of July to all the US folks and everybody else has a fabulous weekend. Until the next time …ENJOY! After much anticipation, we have carefully curated a collection of four epic non-stop music sets that embody the true essence of this genre. Brace yourself for Ooh La la, the first installment in our series, and get ready for an EPIC experience! During the late 90s and the first eight years of the new millennium, DJs unleashed a wave of massive, drama-filled remixes onto the dance floor. This trend had its origins in the mid-90s, with early works by renowned DJ Tony Moran and Junior Vasquez. The only challenge they faced was how to handle the drop. Often, these remixes would reach a pause about two-thirds of the way through, leaving dancers wondering where the track was headed. Skilled live DJs would skillfully mix out of the song at this moment, only for it to reload with the final chorus. However, in 1999, Hex Hector revolutionized the game with his groundbreaking remix of Jennifer Lopez's "Waiting For Tonight." This track, with its slow builds leading to a monumental peak, followed by a breathtaking drop and another gradual ascent to the "ultimate climax," was a game-changer. It was like reaching the edge of ecstasy, holding back, and then slowly building up again before an explosive release. This was no ordinary song—it kept the dance floor sizzling with anticipation until its heart-pounding, sweaty conclusion. It was pure HOT SEX on the dance floor. Our upcoming sets encapsulate the magic created by some of the most influential DJs of the early millennium. From the drama-filled tracks to the hands-in-the-air happy anthems, these sets represent the monumental works of DJs like Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderone, and Peter Rauhofer (amongst others) who were at the forefront of this dancefloor movement. Although this collection is far from exhaustive, it serves as a fantastic starting point. Party Favorz pays tribute to their historic contributions by bringing them together for your present and future enjoyment. Let's take a step back to the not-so-distant past and relive the exhilarating moments we had dancing to these monumental anthems. Prepare to be enthralled and immerse yourself in the infectious beats of Classic Circuit Anthems. Get ready to ENJOY! After promising this series last year, I finally sat down and started compiling these songs and managed to squeeze out four of them. Ooh La la is the first of the Epic Circuit Anthems and when I say “Epic,” I mean EPIC! From the late 90s and through the first 8 years of the millennium, DJs began piling on these massive drama-filled remixes for the dance floor. We see this begin to bubble up in the mid-90s with Tony Moran's earlier works. The only difficulty they seem to have was how to handle the drop. Often times, these remixes would drop about two-thirds of the way and seemingly go nowhere. This pause was used by live DJs to mix out of the song, even though it would eventually reload the final chorus. In 1999, that problem was solved by Hex Hector when he dropped Jennifer Lopez' Waiting For Tonight. That song with its slow builds to a massive peak before dropping only to reclaim its power with another slow build to what can only be described as the “ultimate climax.” Think of it as having sex and reaching that point but you hold back only to slowly build back up before you completely explode. It's the first song I can think of that didn't clear the floor two-thirds of the way in as people eagerly awaited for it to reach it's heart-pounding, sweaty conclusion. This was definitely HOT SEX on the dance floor. Whether it was drama, hands in the air happy anthems or just plain ole fun, the next four sets are representative of the works from some of the BIGGEST DJs of the early millennium. It comes nowhere close to being complete but is definitely a great start. Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer and more are at the upper-echelon of the momentous dancefloor movement. Party Favorz honors their historic work by nailing them down for your personal enjoyment now and years to come. So let's step back to a not so distant past and recall all the fun we had dancing to these monumental anthems. ENJOY! He believes that change in inevitable, adaption is vital, but success is optional. He works with those who pursue the option of success. Communication has been core to Jonathan's pursuits, first as a writer and professor, and later as a marketer and professional speaker. His current pursuits center on how leaders, marketers, and salespeople can utilize persuasive elements and new technologies to not only inspire, but also to compel people to action. Jonathan noticed that when people apply past techniques and models to current environments, they fail. He refers to this tendency as "Caveman Ways." He helps individuals and companies leave these old methods behind as they adapt to new approaches and mechanisms. For instance, his book, Cavemen Can't Market, shows how some companies continue club prospects with their pitches. They fail to realize that in the current era, consumers are in charge. Consumers, sales teams, employees – anyone we're trying to reach – must now be "wooed."

I like to think of this set as the second half of Janet's career. Much like Madonna, the first half is ensconced with the traditional house mixes prominent in the late 80's and much of the 90's. Starting in 1997 with “the Velvet Rope,” the mixes began to take on much of what was happening in the clubs. With big names like Tony Moran, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters and Junior Vasquez mixing her music, Janet was able to successfully transition herself into the millennium. By the time “Damita Jo” came out, she was one of the earliest adopters of the burgeoning electro and progressive scene which she squarely adopted on last year's “Discipline.” Despite receiving critical reviews from her two previous efforts and reaching number #1 on the Billboard Album Chart, Discipline failed to garner any hit singles and to this day has sold a paltry 500,000 copies (not great for an established artist). One could credit the unfortunate publicity incident at the Super Bowl for her downward spiral or maybe she was just ahead of the pack in mainstreaming the underground scene. Regardless, that didn't stop her from continuing her streak of number ones on the club charts. Much like many of our divas, we embrace Janet whole-heartedly and welcome the next chapter in her career. Though it is unclear, the rumor mill had Janet working with Jimmy Jam on a new album that was supposed to have come out in the spring. With the death of her brother and the greatest hits package just released, it's obvious any new material will be pushed into 2010. Fiercely independent, Janet has a lot of options she could take. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what her next move is. Miss Jackson if you're nasty, it's time for your encore. This set was originally posted on November 24, 2009. Since there are no current plans to update Miss Jackson's original induction, I thought it was appropriate to go back and revisit her original induction into the Diva Hall of Fame for those fans that missed it the first time around. By request, this is a re-post of the original Diva Series featuring the one and only Whitney Houston. Sadly, she was taken from us 3 years after this was posted. RIP my angel. …I also went back and took a look at this mix and decided to create several mix show edits of the songs. Let's face it, anyone who already has most if not all of these mixes knows just how ridiculously long many of them are. Often the big-name DJs would go off in some direction that had little or nothing to do with the song. I suppose it was a way to showcase their skills. Personally, I think it was an ego trip. That's not to say that these mixes are not brilliant, because they are. My goal was to go back and provide more cohesiveness to the listener. As far as I'm concerned, if you forget what song you're listening to about halfway through because it jets off to some alternate universe, then it's ripe for re-editing. Probably the most difficult of these songs is Jonathan Peters' productions. They weren't only excessive but used a different timing to the beats making it a challenge for anyone attempting to give his mixes a good flow. For the most part, I did the best I could and I think the end result is fantastic, if not stellar. Given the controversy that has surrounded Whitney over the past years, I'm glad to see she's back, looking and sounding great (despite what some of the critics might be saying about her vocals, which is typical for a bunch of talentless hacks who think Miley Cyrus is the second coming). Let's face it, she can still sing rings around anyone in the top 40 at any given moment, including Mariah. I understand no one was happy with “I Didn't Know My Own Strength” as the possible first single and rightfully so. It's a typical Diane Warren schlock-fest that wouldn't be out-of-place as the next American Idol's first single. What's good about that kind of song is that it usually lends itself to great remixes. IDKMOS is very diva, very over the top and represents the syrupy melodramatic sentiment that every budding drag queen wants to showcase their best Whitney impersonation with. Hopefully, we'll be seeing some official remixes (Hex, I can see your name all over this) prior to the release of the album in September. Ultimately, Whitney's induction into the Diva Series Hall of Fame serves as a reminder as to why we fell in love with her in the first place. Her beauty, her voice, her class, and her fierceness…it's all here. Welcome back Whitney! Album : Whitney Houston | The Diva Series Genre : Circuit, House Year : 2009 Total Time : 1:51:08.00 1.
