This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs. Helping me Draw The Line this week it's Fiona who is now based in Berlin. Driven by a passion to help people connect, share experiences, and escape the outside world she promoted her own parties in Jerusalem's underground scene, uniting diverse communities. After a year of success, she moved to Berlin to immerse herself in techno and electronic music and she fell in love with acid and trancey sounds which inspired her to establish the Acid Reflux Collective. In her sets she blends the raw intensity of underground clubs with the liberating spirit of outdoor raves. Housepedia Podcasts #HomeIsWhereHouseIsPlaying 160 I Moskalus Moskalus was born and currently resides in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He started his musical journey back in 2007 when he created his first YouTube channel where he would upload music from various artists to help them promote their music. With his second channel, he started doing music videos because he wanted to be a part of the scene, not only as a regular uploader, but as someone who wanted to express his own feelings. In November 2014, he had his first big break by making the music video for Bambounou's track "Onto This" which was released on 50 Weapons. After that, he gained a greater audience that helped him to work with labels such as: Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade, Die Orakel, Pinkman and Lehult. He has also had the opportunity to work with artists such as: Baltra, Fjaak, J. Albert and Benedikt Frey. After years of listening to music and making videos for such artists, Moskalus has developed a wide-ranging taste. In his DJ sets you can expect to hear anything from disco to house, techno, UK Garage or dubstep from the golden era. "When I first heard electro, I had an epiphany." The Georgian artist and Herrensauna resident talks about the genre she loves most, preparing for sets and remaining authentic to her sound. SALOME, now one of the scene's foremost purveyors of electro, has shot up in popularity over the last two years. Hailing from Tbilisi, she now lives in Berlin and is a resident of Herrensauna, where she's become a champion of the fast-paced dance music that the group tours worldwide. She's also graced the lineups of festivals like Pitch, Wire, and Dekmantel - where this talk was recorded live - and has released searing electro on labels like Lobster Theremin, Mechatronica, International Chrome, Darknet and more. In this interview moderated by Souhayla Ou-Oumar, SALOME talks about first falling in love with electronic music after a visit to Kyiv. She says she heard every local artist playing electro and breakbeats instead of techno, and she hasn't turned back since. The artist plays multiple gigs each weekend, and she talks about the process behind her preparation. She spends hours each week digging for music in multiple genres, creating what she calls "sound maps" for each of the territories she DJs in. This can be tricky, SALOME says, especially when she appears in places like Italy and Spain that expect to hear techno. But no matter where she's booked, she says she makes it a goal to remain true to her sound. Listen to the episode in full.
Tbilisi's impact on the techno underground cannot be overstated thanks to the work of artists like Salome. Though now based in Berlin, her sound is very much a product of the Georgian scene - heavy, breakbeat-rich techno with big trance-infused melodies and dramatic atmospheres alongside plenty of electro. It has come on the likes of Lobster Theremin and Standard Deviation while she also recently remixed Jensen Interceptor. On this week's mix, Salome Gvetadze folds in all her influences from hard house to industrial to cook up an eye-watering soundtrack that is pure dystopia. It's a mix of brutally distorted low ends and earth-shattering warehouse sounds brought to life by bright synths, shards of glassy melody and twisted metal textures. Though physical and unrelenting, it's all richly layered so there is always a freaky voice to follow or a melodic thread to pull at as you're ever more consumed by the sheer force of it all.

Meta house (also known as power house, kind of ghetto house, directly spawned as a sub genre of outsider house) is a genre of electronic house music combining elements of techno, electro and deep house music with bassline patterns saturated of groovy hats. Also artists originally embracing distorting or aggressive lofi techniques rather than the cleanliness of mainstream EDM genres and deep house. Power house was originally inspired by combination of rap acapellas with deep house pads. Mostly present on the SoundCloud platform since 2018 on channels like L.I.E.S., Lobster Theremin, RAIDERS, Filth Inc., Welofi, MOSOBLELECTRO, clipp.art, ORGAN BOYS CLUB, УРБАН, childsplay, urwaxx. This music is characterized by repeated vocals or acapellas from old school rap tapes and samples from lately-1990s hip hop, often combining them with elements of acid sounding and strong kick. Our first premiere of the week comes from one of the most exhilarating names in techno today, Chlär. Swiss native Chlär arrives on SHDW & Obscure Shapes imprint Mutual Rytm for a six track EP, comprised of futuristic grooves and tribal narratives. We premiere ‘Spirit Enhancer' a high octane 90's inspired cut, which draws on dub techno and disco flavours. Emerging as an artist of note for both now and the future, Chlär continues to craft and shape his sound as he curates his own high-octane approach to techno. Combining dynamic performances taking in three and four deck mixes with his own up front productions and his talents as a former mastering engineer, the Swiss talent has become a respected name amongst his peers. After releases on Lobster Theremin and his own Bipolar Disorder imprint, the Berlin-based DJ, producer and label boss heads to SHDW & Obscure Shape's blooming label Mutual Rytm to deliver six precise and powerful cuts across his ‘Optimized Groove' EP. “As the names states, ‘Optimized grooves' is a collection of tracks designed to match specific parts of the event/night. From ‘Night Genesis' at the origin of the night through to tracks like ‘Maximum Performance', a peak time bomb, and ‘Spirit Enhancer' – an uplifting and warm production elevating individuals to higher labels after hours of spiritual connection” – Chlär We have the pleasure of once again premiering music from our favourite new techno label, Mutual Rytm and Chlär's release is one of the most exciting yet. Spirit Enchancer comes in hot as the final track of the record (excluding the digital exclusive), and it's packed with smouldering grooves. The Berlin based producer seems to be firmly looking back at classic 90's techno for inspiration on this one, as the track would be easily mistake for early Technasia or Monika Kruse. Chlär goes hard with rolling low end, yet show's the light with illuminating strings, funked up disco sampling, and some infectious dub chord for good measure. The most impressive piece of of production prowess on this track is Chlär's impeccable ability to create raw and raucous drum grooves and exemplary swing on his percussion, simply infectious in every possible way. If you haven't heard of Nikki Nair at this point, we'd invite you to come out from under that rock you're living in. But jokes aside, the last 12 months have been the Atlanta producer's year. He's toured seemingly endlessly, has found his way into a number of local scenes and has put out records for labels like Dirtybird, Lobster Theremin and Scuffed Recordings. If that weren't enough, he's also been putting out an illuminating series of monthly singles on his Bandcamp that show off both his restless muse and his seeming ability to both perfect and put his own stamp on any sub-genre or style he tries. People usually use some form of the word "bass" to describe Nikki Nair, because of the way his music flits between dubstep, drum & bass, electro and more. One moment he's making staggering hip-hop instrumentals that would have fit right into the old LA beat scene, the next minute he's making pneumatic techno or uptempo stuff that would fit right in one Juke Bounce Werk. His voracious appetite for new sounds comes across on his RA Podcast, which is a sprawling two-hours-plus of genre hopping and careful mixing, hopping from mood to mood like a 2-D video game platformer. It starts off perhaps a little slower than you'd expect, but weaves through countless Nikki Nair tracks, older selections from Wolfgang Voigt and Drexciya and mind-melting club tracks from newer producers including DJ ADHD, Despina, Limewax and more. If you want to know what the hippest, most inventive dance music sounds like, bridging continents and oceans, this mix is it. @nikki-nair Read more at https://ra.co/podcast/848
The first premiere of the day comes from one of our favourite techno artists right now, Berlin based Chontane. Having previously released on ARTS, Voltage, Rekids & more, the youngster now arrives on Lobster Theremin with a 4 track EP that blurs the lines between techno, electro and breaks. We premiere ‘Art Of Survival', a thundering high octane 90's inspired techno tool. Chontane has been immersing himself in techno for many years, experimenting with various styles and niches, and evolving his eclectic palette for high energy electronic music. Growing up in Berlin Chontane found himself obsessed with techno's underground subculture, the young DJ started playing regularly at the early age of nineteen kicking things off with a residency at the Krach nights in Humboldthain and then playing some of the cities most revered clubs, including: Tresor, :// About Blank and OHM. With his first record release in 2018 still receiving praise and support, Chontane has wasted no time in reaffirming his capabilities. With another successful collaborative release on Magic Power with WERK co-founder J.Manuel and a 4 track EP on the Special Projects sub-label of Radio Slave's Rekids imprint. The young producer is constantly blurring the lines between techno, breaks and electro in the capital; breaking down some of the perceived barriers that were once there. Now Chontane brings his colourful and energetic brand of blurred techno to Lobster Theremin's White series with four hedonistic and mind-altering weapons. Chontane goes hard on the final track Art Of Survival as he focusses on jarring breakbeat grooves and growling low end power. The star of the show is the gleaming lead that has just a touch of French house flair. This is sure to tear up any dance-floor it touches. BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL aka Karin & Ty, are a duo on the rise. In their ten years of experience, they have defined an iconic new sound oscillating between classic 90s techno, jackin' Chicago acid, and hypnotic, ass-shaking machine funk. The pair has been on a roll recently, releasing a string of highly sought-after cuts on Hardgroove, Symbolism, Super Rhythm Trax, and Balkan Vinyl, while picking up support from techno titans such as Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Truncate, The Advent, Ben Klock, Luke Slater, and Marcel Dettmann. On the dancefloor, their masterfully crafted mix of techno meets acid, breaks, and rave morphs into the energetic peak-time force that has come to define the BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL sound. Their sets are fast-paced and muscular, transporting us to the golden era of techno while also moving us firmly into the future, showcasing their appreciation for the past while creating something new altogether. Over the last years, they've made their mark turning out incredible sets for Ben Sims' MACHINE, Watergate, ADE, Blitz, The Block, Dockyard, MARICAS, HE.SHE.THEY, Milkshake, and Motion Bristol. If you've ever seen the duo live, you'll know they have that elusive magic touch. Every time Karin and Ty hit the decks, they bring all the twisted arcs, goosebumps, and mind-melting sensations. Without a doubt, you're in for an unforgettable journey. BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL are currently making major waves with their 'Fluid Humanism' EP on Ben Sims' Hardgroove imprint, and with further releases on Warehouse Music, Truncate, and Lobster Theremin on the horizon, 2022 is shaping up to be a golden year for the duo. Coco Bryce (@cocobrycebeats) is a veteran of the drum & bass scene, but also one of its most cutting-edge artists. The Breda-born DJ and producer is a master of intricate drum patterns and superbly warm and emotive pads. His silky, soulful sounds some with deft vocals and proper piano riffs that are always on the more minimal end of the spectrum, but still make a lasting impact. Next to his own Myor label, he has landed on the likes of Critical Recordings, Lobster Theremin and Fresh 86, and in 2022 alone he has put out at least six different EPs. True to his prolific form, this week's mix is packed with his own exclusive and unreleased tunes as well as gems from Paradox, Denham Audio and DJ H. It adds up to an absorbing hour of stylish and stripped-back rhythms that both float in the cosmos and root you to the dance floor. Lush chords and subtle waves of euphoria permeate the whole mix and make it as emotionally touching as it is physically moving.

Today's premiere comes from another outstanding release on Sharpson's Choki Biki Records, as Josh Coakley launches his Coakley Collabs Vol.1 collaborative EP, curated by Josh himself. Coakley Collabs Vol.1 consists of six techno orientated collaborations between Josh Coakley and other Irish talent including; blk., Sharpson, jxck, KIRK, Karl Seery and Black Traffic. Each track varies between a blend of acid, electro, trance and breakbeat, under the umbrella of Coakley's signature techno sound. Today's premiere "Fade To Grey' comes from Josh Coakley's collaboration with Scott Prendergast AKA Black Traffic. The pair have composed a track that tows the lines between trance and melodic techno. Black Traffic's signature use of rich textures and melodies contrast with Coakley's hard core techno drum programming. Coakley Collabs Vol.1 comes out via Sharpson's imprint; Choki Biki Records on the 22nd of April. It will be available as 12” vinyl also on all major digital streaming platforms courtesy of Lobster Theremin. Piotr Ho - Warsaw based DJ and promoter active on the scene since 2016. Co-founder of Bunker Events - the crew responsible for the Fort Open Air series of events and number of club events, co-founder of PLENER - summer open air venue. Over the time, he expanded his organizational activities and became a DJ, the effects of which you could hear on many national dance floors and festivals. Organization of events integrating various genres, from downtempo, through house and techno, to psychedelic trance music, confirmed his need for a cross-sectional view on music. It resulted in regular performances at various events, not limited only to techno, where he presents his favorite sounds selection. Superiority of a deep groove over the pace with a rough kick, is a principle he follows to keep the hypnotic atmosphere. His favourite labels are Ostgut Ton, Innervisions, Pole Group, The Gods Planet, Giegling, Ninja Tune, Lobster Theremin, Dystopian, Disco Halal, Gradient, Children of Tomorrow or Katermukke. Our first premiere of the week comes from rising French DJ and producer, Sina XX, as we feature his track entitled 'Feed Your Fetish', forthcoming on Lobster Theremin sub-label, 'Techno Is The Devil's Music'. Demonic techno straight from the fiery depths, Body To Body founder Sina XX serves up four unholy cuts of industrial devastation that has Satan himself grinning horn to horn as he soundtracks his subterranean hellscape on 'Techno Is The Devil's Music'. Following outings on Rinse France and performances in Rex Club, Mess Paris and many of France's iconic heavy sound institutions, Sina XX is fast becoming one of most exciting names of the techno circuit. As the founding member of Subtyl he has become synonymous with the rave renaissance currency sweeping its way through the French capital through its nocturnal, heavy-hitting aesthetic. ‘Feed Your Fetish' is a churning techno track which veers towards the melodic, but nonetheless is a high pace, energetic workout, with elements of acid and subtle hints of trance throughout. Dense and dizzy neon techno from a Georgian artist on the rise.
For our 54th edition of the Global Mix, we welcome the rising star, Yosh. The rising star has been making waves in the UK scene, through his garage and breaks, soaked productions and sets. The young producer has been turning heads with releases on Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade, Holding Hands, Dansu Dics & more. The UK native has graced Rinse FM, guesting for UK garage don, Dr Banana & he's also held it down on podcast series such as Bite Back and EQUINOX Melbourne. The young UKG hero has garnered a CV of releases and mixes. that is just as impressive as those of seasoned veterans in the scene. Swinging between garage and breaks, the UK trailblazer is just as prolific in the booth as he is in the studio. Sharp cuts on the mixer, re-winds & rapid transitions, make for an exuberant selector that knows how to make a room move. Yosh‘s Global Mix is a perfect example of what he brings to the club, a wide variety of garage and breakbeat cuts, mixed in sublime fashion. Yosh brings the mix from deep to banging, fast to slow, dark to catchy and ultimately takes the listener on a 2-step infused funky journey. In 2018, Chlär officially entered the techno scene by releasing his first EP on Bipolar Disorder Rec at the age of 20. His first involvement in the world of electronic music consisted of organizing illegal rave parties in his home country; Switzerland. Having played in several major club capitals in Europe, he has caught the attention of more and more people by providing ‘'skillful and outstanding" performances through mixes of high precision techno missiles. Producer and craftsman of sound, Chlär shines through his unconventional approach to techno. With the use of scientific and meticulous methods, he continues to fine tune the progress of his search for increasingly organic, pounding grooves and soundscapes to create simpleand subtle elements that embody effective, energetic and highly infectious pieces of music. He is also a former mastering engineer and co-runs Bipolar Disorder Rec. with friend and artistic collaborator, The Chronics. Chlär is sharpening his musical senses and abilities on many sides of the industry, by being an artist and engineer but also working in A&R and Event Management. With releases on Lobster Theremin, RAW, Moments In Time or Voltage Festival Label, Chlär keeps surprising with his versatile productions and guarantees a strong comeback in a post COVID era with gigs across Europe. D. Tyrone is a queer DJ and producer that established themselves making dance music in Tāmaki Makaurau. After releasing three records as 1/2 of DJ Kush Boogie on Lobster Theremin, Dirk went on to self release their first full-length album on HEAD RUSH in 2020 followed by a self-released EP, Love and Music, later that year. We are thrilled to welcome the producer for an exquisite hour of fun, spacious dance music that takes in fractured beats, 4/4 and everything in between. @d_tyrone ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Darklove w/ Traxion (Online SOLD OUT || Tix at door) NEW DATE & VENUE TBA Support: Sindy, Big-Mac, Bryn D, Ham, Eric Stark www.facebook.com/events/196920505668803 Bella Claxton Pres. Materialising in the dank, unruly pockets of Australia's warehouse rave scene, Tred now resides deep in Neukölln, Berlin, where he has sharpened a focus on his own narrative of modern club culture, identity and high powered techno weapons. Cheeky, uncompromising and driven by an unrelenting tempo are common traits of a Tred set. This no bullshit approach has drawn the attention of the provocative Munich based queer collective Bottom Topixxx where he takes up residency. Whether it's peak time at Säule or a closing set at Tresor, his sets emit restless energy that show little regard for genre definitions, assertively blending any style that he is entertained by. It's rapid body music with an emotive tinge, all mixed with a flair that celebrates classic rave nostalgia, tribal groove and contemporary dance-floor burners. A similar style emerges when you look into the growing back catalogue of Tred's studio productions. Having had selected works pressed across imprints such as Lobster Theremin, 1Ø PILLS MATE, E-Missions, and Amniote Editions, what becomes obvious is his ability to capture the energy of many influences. Head-strong in approach, 2021 will see a number of debut's further his sonic sensibilities. For the 47th edition of the Global Mix Series we welcome the versatile German DJ and producer Narciss, as he delivers an hour of acid, trance influenced rapid techno, expertly mixed to soundtrack your Thursday afternoon. Despite naming himself after a mythical egomaniac, Narciss’ approach to techno is very far from self-centered, with his inspirations spanning from Samurai Movies of the 1950's across Hip-Hop from the 80's, to white-labelled tool-techno records and Anime from the 90's. Undeterred by the tonal difference in these influences, though the glue holding all of them together is an earnest sense of emotion and Narciss’ audible wish to make a crowd move as ecstatically as possible. With a string of huge releases with Lobster Theremin and 1ØPILLS, plus numerous edits and remixes, Narciss is a producer who certainly doesn't lack an arsenal of back catalogues bangers. He has packed this mix from start to finish, with a vast selection of dance tracks, ranging from breaks and melodic sounds, to fast paced and jacking techno, culminating in an effortless and smooth mix which thoroughly enjoyed from the get go. Got that Friday feeling yet? If you ain't you will soon... This is a special mix recorded by one of the most important figures in the UK jungle scene at present, Tim Reaper is flying the flag high for the genre. pushing new boundaries with his exceptional approach to sound design and a nod to the legacy which has gone before him. Over the past ten years Tim has grafted, releasing a sprawling array of music on respected labels such as Skeleton Recordings, Dark Age Recordings, Omni and more. Earlier this year he released a new EP on Lobster Theremin, a record label which never fails to capture the imagination, releasing left of centre electronics across the spectrum of dance music. The EP showcases Tim Reaper's modern approach to jungle and D&B in the present and features collaborations with Massachusetts breakccore producer Devnull. Anyway, we invited him to record a mix for us and what he has delivered is a whirlwind exploration through wicked breaks, euphoric soundscapes and beyond.
Will Hofbauer is a rising star from the UK. He's appeared on Bradley Zero's South London staple Rhythm Section, as well as Asquith’s Lobster Theremin, following a debut on HOMAGE in 2019. Will runs the playful Third Place imprint, which has released material from Sangre Voss, Stones Taro, and Ranga since its inception in 2019. Will’s music has received support from the likes of Ben UFO, Bradley Zero, Moxie, OK Williams, Tom Ravenscroft, and more. He also holds a residency at the Co-Select events in London, and demonstrates his ability to weave through textures and styles with this mix. No tracklist
We've been listening to more and more ambient sounds as lockdown has progressed as it offers some much needed respite among the chaos. We are delighted to premiere an act we admire and helped to welcome to Dublin for his Irish club show debut, back in 2018, nthng. Lobster Theremin ambient sub-label Lobster Sleep Sequence are set to release the double LP + 7” album Unfinished from Dutch producer - featuring a limited run of copies on deep green vinyl. Themed around events in the artist's life, Unfinished is a deeply personal journey, yet there’s something very relatable to the world he has conjured. Lockdown has forced us to look inward, explore realities within ourselves and the fragility of our forgotten world. The album is a series of peaks and troughs - hopeful words, ominous tones and other-worldly soundscapes, giving way to a journey in no way linear - but a true reflection of our times. London born, now Berlin based, Amy Dabbs is the daughter of an original Northern Soul DJ. Trusting in the mantra of doing what you love, Amy makes and plays music she believes in. Music that makes you dance and elicits an emotional response. A velvety smooth blend of genres makes her sets and compositions more interesting and diverse, something she believes is becoming more widely accepted for artists to do. After relocating to Berlin in 2019, Amy has been focussing on new material of her own. Her 'Girl Like Me EP' was recently released on Distant Horizons, a sub-label of London mainstay Lobster Theremin, who are also releasing her second EP next month. "My Slothboogie mix was recorded in my basement studio in Berlin, and I've included some of my favourite house and breaks tracks right now, as well as material from my latest EP. I've been listening to really wide range of stuff recently, and I feel like a lot of people are doing the same. Lockdown and all the clubs being shut has led everyone to seek out more and more music online and perhaps this has led to artists feeling they can be more diverse in their sets. I've also applied this to my own productions, having recently released a house EP on Distant Horizons and with a forthcoming jungle EP (out next month!) on Lobster Theremin." Artist: @amydabbs
